I have been a long-standing customer with LensCrafters. Recently I went in for an exam, the staff was polite as well as helpful. However my problem lies with acquiring the prescription. In order to receive my prescription (contacts) in which I have already paid, I am forced to wait a week + for a follow-up visit. In which I'm informed that if I miss the follow-up visit I will never be able to receive the prescription which I already paid for. This is unacceptable. I have no problems going in for a follow-up. I just did not appreciate the manager having an attitude while explaining that that was their policy. Nor was this policy ever explain to me prior to examination. I will not be returning read more

This review is way overdue and my apologies. Back in early September, I accidentally stepped on my husband's eyeglasses. We we're going to be driving up north for a 7 hour drive and he needed them fixed desperately. Our optometrist was closed that day so I told him to go to Lens Crafters in the Tyler Mall to see if they could fix them or not. Even though the glasses were not purchased there, they were able to fix them and didn't even charge us for the repair. Such excellent customer service!! Thank you so much Lens Crafters!! read more

literal TRASH i went in for some contacts last week and had another appointment for today but the dude doing the eye exam told me they were disposables and to come next week to get some more. I've been throwing them away at the end of the day since then and i come in & the guy with the beard and the glasses was not helpful at all . At first he tried to get me to pay $45 for some " eye exam fee " ?? I explained to him i only had the apt to pickup some new contacts. Apparently who put it into the system inputted it wrong. Today 10/4/2018 I was at Lens Crafter Riverside Tyler mall for a pair glasses to be made; however it soured me towards ever going back to a mall eye glass Lens Crafter for glasses again!!! The only reason why I'm giving them two stars is because of the great service from Dr. Orlando Camacho and Angel the eyeglass Technician. Otherwise I would have given a 1 Star. The eye exam was the only good part of the experience. To summarize I was left waiting for almost four hours for a pair of glasses That should've only taken maybe an hour and a half. unfortunately the young lady that was assisting me on the retail side really provided bad customer service by holding my order and not placing it for no good reason. Therefore what should have been hour visit to their store, lasted almost 4 hours! The retail service of this store needs lots of help. Today Thursday was a slow day for them, therefore I would hate to have been there on a busy day! I will need to have a new pair of glasses made in a month. Worst eye exam of my life at this location! Took less than five minutes for the complete exam Dr. hands smelled like cigarette smoke and I was given a lower prescription which is different than what I've had for the past five years. Got a second opinion and my prescription has not changed! Save your time and benefits and go to a real optometrist. read more

I regret spending $507.67 at LensCrafters Galleria at Tyler Eye-Care on May 14, 2017. I have always thought of this company as a sub-par vender, a keen to the "Claire's" of of the Optometery world. Well, I was "convinced" by visions of having my "choice frames" by the time my wife and kids were done browseing the mall... "Michael" was very courteous and provided excellent services. We were told that "everything is in the computer..." so there won't be a problem with coming back in a week to finalize our purchase, including the "special deal" his manager had approved. On May 14th, we returned to finalized the deal. Austin Wallace, the acting manager informed us that we could not have the deal we had negotiated. During our extensive discussion, he stated that Gladys, the sales person who was helping, had asked Michael, the sales person who we interacted with previously, and Michael could not remember offering said pricing, and there were no notes on the computer system. Within moments of making this comment, Michael walked over and when asked, acknowledged that he remembered us and we were correct. Austin honored the deal, but why did Austin feel the need to "provide mistruths?" Next lie... Sun Glasses... no problem. I built my glasses with the unstated understanding that they would be ready in an hour... That hour, has not become 312 hours! When I voiced my disapproval, Gladys said, "oh, I thought I told you earlier!" She did not. I was then promised the glasses a week later, May 21st. Then told, actually it will be May 22nd. Finally, today, I'm told, oh... the "Blue IQ takes two weeks...". Wait, this is the blue IQ you "encouraged" me to buy???" Needles to say, I am extremely disappointed with this business. After remind Gladys of the previous promises, I asked her, "what are you going to do to make this right?" She quickly referred me to "Austin Wallace." Yes, he was the "honest" one I mentioned earlier. She then conferred with him in the lab, and came out and let me know there were a couple of customers before me. Having experienced the service at this store, I know that this could turn in to two hours! So, needless to say, I wasn't going to wait around for hear what he had to say... especially after past behaviors evidenced lack of integrity. Sorry for typos, I don't have my glasses yet. Wish I caught her name, but while waiting for an appointment one of the ladies up front was very dismissive to a gentleman that sat down with questions. She walked around the store attending to other things and people while answering his questions. He was even mid sentence thanking her for her help when she had already turned her back to him walking away. He just shook his head, stood up, and walked out the store. One of My nose pieces broke off and I was in the Tyler Mall so I quickly stopped in Lens Crafters and they replaced both nose pieces no charge!! If you are looking to get an annual eye exam please look elsewhere! LensCrafters may have the latest diagnostic tools for your eyes but that doesn't make up for the poor service by their eye doctors. This review is for Dr. Dennis Gaedig. He was very short with me, didn't answer my questions thoroughly and was quite dismissive. I felt like another customer that he needed to get through so he can see his next appointment. There was no Dr to patient "relationship", instead it felt like a turn and burn operation to me. I understand he may have other appointments after me, but at least make it seem like my questions and inquiries matter. I have been to other optometrists where they showed more patience, empathy and care. This will be my first and last time going to Dr. Gaedig for my annual check up. read more

What. An. Ordeal. Let's just say I know Optical shops. I worked in one (not a Lenscrafters) from 2001-2005 while in college. I know the ins and outs from the exam process to the dispensing of glasses and contacts, which really haven't changed since. Fast-forward 8 years, and I'm in need of an exam and contacts. Knowing it will definitely be easier on the staff, I make an appointment at my local Lenscrafters and arrive early to fill out any paperwork. I complete everything and start to wait. Ten. Twenty minutes past my appointment time. No one notices me, I look at sunglasses and various eyeglass frames (they do have a really good selection) so that passes the time. Long story short I finally get my exam and go home with a pair of DAILY wear contacts in my eyes and a small bag of sample lenses to try before a follow up appointment a week later. The contacts fit great, my vision was crystal clear. Yay! I use up my daily wear contacts a couple days later(they only gave my TWO additional days of daily lenses).... three days before my follow up appointment. I realize I can't wait until the followup appointment - I need to get more contacts, so I call up Lenscrafters again and ask to move up my follow up appointment. Luckily the fit me in that day and I go in. Of course when I get there they look puzzled because I'm wearing my glasses. I'm out of sample dailies, I tell them and I get the stink eye as I am provided two new daily wear lenses for the follow up appointment. The appointment goes well and the doctor walks me out to the register to receive my prescription. That's when the hard sale begins. The rep at checkout starts ringing me up automatically for what she THINKS I should order. Two 90 day supply boxes of contacts. I tell her to wait a minute, that's kind of expensive and I should be able to buy one box at a time because my eyes happen to be the same prescription in both eyes. She looks at me, blinks, then looks down at my prescription which is written for the exact same prescription in both eyes. She then disappears to the back for five minutes - I'm assuming to check with the doctor. Of course it all checks out and I can order said contacts. I expect them to hand me a box of lenses and send me on my way, but of course not. They don't carry these in stock. I wear Acuvue dailies. Acuvue one of, if not MOST popular brands in the US. Why wouldn't they carry lenses in stock? I am assured they they will be in within a few days, I pay, then am on my way with a new small bag of samples to last me two days, max. This was May 25th, just for your reference. It is now June 5th, a Wednesday. 11 days after placing my order. I called two days ago asking where my order was and I had the rep on the phone assure me that my contacts would be in either Tuesday or Wednesday morning. That's today. I just got off the phone with them *again* and guess who's contacts are still not in? I am getting pretty impatient, especially after spending $75 and having nothing to show for it. I also recently discovered that I can order the same contacts online for MUCH cheaper and have them delivered next day. Hmmmmm.... so I asked the rep on the phone at Lenscrafters what their policy for cancellations was. At this point I just want to get everything over with and get what I paid for.... or get my money back. Of course, the rep today was not authorized to give me cancellation information and says she will set my paperwork aside so a manager can give me a call about it. Uh huh. I ask when said manager will be getting in touch with me and the rep (Jessica) says "I don't know, I'll leave your info out for them to see when they get here". Still haven't heard from them, and I'm not holding my breath. I don't think this place really has their shit together: 1. Their prices are too high. I've since found the same contacts 75% cheaper than what they are selling them for at Lenscrafters. And I can have them today! 2. The wait for products is too long. 3. The customer service reps sound uninformed about basic transactions. Also, where's the manager? Basically, Lenscrafters does not value my time. You could go to the Vision Center at Walmart and get a much better deal and maybe wait 3 days MAX for your lenses to come in (if they didn't have them in stock the first time). In fact I'm going there now to see if I can order from them, and then swing by Lenscrafters on my way home to get the order cancelled and money refunded to my bank account. I just HOPE the manager is there or someone else that knows how to cancel the order and refund the transaction. read more

LensCrafters refused to replace a defective lens on glasses I had less than a year. On top of that, my optometrist found that the prescription on my lenses was incorrect and had double the astigmatism that was prescribed. They owe me a refund for making the wrong lenses that I wore for almost a year. Go to Costco, they are cheaper, better quality, and if you don't like the selection of glasses, buy them somewhere else and bring them back to Costco to get your lenses. I'd rather wait 7-14 days for glasses that are correct. Screwed up glasses in about an hour is not worth it! read more

Then when I came back to pick up my gfs glasses; the two associates stood in front of the computers and talked while I stood there patiently waiting for them to acknowledge me and ask what I needed. Went back one more time and still the same. LensCrafters pulled insurance authorizations for everything they offer regardless if you use the benefits then they do not release the unused portion. If you try to use your benefits at another eyeglass provider the insurance company does not show benefits since LensCrafters pulled an authorization. Another hour on the phone wasted I order to use my insurance benefits. My family will never go back. read more

Two weeks ago (it will actually be two weeks tomorrow) my husband was in this location and ordered a pair of glasses. Upon paying his $25.00 co-pay (through our insurance) via his debit card, we discovered shortly after that Lenscrafters had charged him TWICE. I'm sure this was done inadvertently. My husband said they were having issues with one of their cash registers and the person who rung him up told him that she didn't think his payment went through the first time, so they took him to another register and she had him swipe his card yet again. Upon hearing this, I checked our bank statement on-line, and sure enough we were charged twice. I called them right away that evening, just before they closed, hoping we could immediately resolve this. I was told to call back the next day because there was no one there who was in charge of these matters who could assist me that time of night. The very next day in the a.m. I spoke with someone named Emily. She said they show that we were only charged ONCE, and that she'll have to contact their "Sales Audit Department". She told me to keep checking my account as it can take 3 - 5 business days or so for a refund to show up. She took mine and my husband's phone numbers, and I told her I would be in touch the next week if no refund had been made. She ended up calling my husband a few days later and told him that she learned it can actually take between 7 and 10 days for a refund. And also that she lost MY number. 13 days later, still no refund, so I phoned this morning and asked to speak to a manager. A lady named Debbie got on the phone, and after telling her what has transpired and that after two weeks STILL no refund has been made, she informed me that this was the first she was hearing about it. She took my number and told me she needed to get caught up on the situation from their end and that she would call me back "in ten minutes". This was a few minutes after 10:00 a.m. FOUR hours later, I still hadn't heard back from her. So I called back yet again, and expressed my unhappiness. She said she was still waiting to hear back from the elusive "Sales Audit Department", and therefore she still didn't know much other than telling me "there is a chain of command" they have to go through because they are still showing on their end that they only charged us ONCE. The "chain of command" being their phantom "Sales Audit Department", who apparently doesn't return their calls or Emails for two weeks. What a cushy job these guys in their "Sales Audit Department" must have; it seems they don't have to actually DO their job and have no accountability nor concern for customer welfare -- and yet they STILL get to keep their jobs. Amazing. I told Debbie at this point our patience has run out and that I'm tired of getting the runaround from them, and she actually said, " We can't just give you $25.00 based on your say so". Wow. Well, by God, if they haven't figured out after two weeks that the error is in fact on THEIR END, I began to realize we may not get our refund after all, at least without us actually having to be inconvenienced and go show them IN PERSON our bank statement, which contains personal information. My husband said not to bother with their incompetence any longer, and instead I contacted our bank and filed a claim. The lady at the bank said she could see that we were in fact charged TWICE and that there has been NO refund. She told me she filed a claim on our behalf and that they would be in touch via Email. Two hours later I checked my Email where my bank said the investigation had ALREADY concluded, and they found that Lenscrafters was indeed at fault. Not only that, my bank had ALREADY refunded our $25.00. Within TWO HOURS they did what Lenscrafters REFUSED to do in two weeks. Needless to say we will NEVER use LENSCRAFTERS again. read more

Very disappointed! I came back to this specific LensCrafters after my last visit, but it was clear I had made a mistake. I was sold a product that is not even produced! How crazy is that?! I paid $350 for a pair of prescription sunglasses, just to find out that the lenses never even existed in production with that frame. Needless to say we stood around for about 10 minutes and no one asked us if we needed any help. Even after I walked up to the register the lady would not make eye contact with me when I was asking a question. I've purchased multiple pairs of glasses in the past from this company and have been very satisfied with the quality until now. No I did not purchase an extended warranty however I should not be experiencing the coating peeling on a newly purchased $400 pair of glasses that have been rarely worn in the last few months. The store representative has said it's my fault? For cleaning them with the provided microfiber cloth? That caused the peeling to come off? My previous pair bought from this company I still own 5years old kept and cleaned the same way and I have zero issues with the lenses or coating. This is a manufactured defect. They claim to craft quality lenses but quality lenses don't develop spots after a few short months of use. read more

Went there yesterday to see it they are an In-Network provider for my contact lenses. Took at least 30 minutes to find out AND the price was almost double the price at Sam's Club! Oh, yes they took my insurance (Blue View thru Blue Sheild) which would save me $130. Problem is their price before savings was almost $400. My cost-$270. Sams Club, who is not In-Network, cost to me was $195. Same exact lenses, same quantity. Hmmm, which to choose....The winner is Sam's Club! I would love to have an explanation of why it took over 30 minutes to get a price? Of course, they needed all my info to "check the pricing". I watched as the associate helping me had at least 2 others help him come up with the price. My thought-they just took their regular price and added my copay to it. My husband and I went in last night to purchase frames. We waited in line and was given a time to return back. The very helpful lady said to come back at 540. We returned at the time given. We were allowed in to check out the frames. Another lady shouted at us (who I assume was the manager. Everyone seemed to refer back to her with help or questions) that we were only allowed 10 frames at a time. Husband and I continued browsing. This woman whom I assume to be the manager came in contact with about 3 people through out our wait time. Every time stressing we close at 7. Already setting the expectations that maybe you shouldn't wait cus we are too busy. After about 10 min she told us to sit down and pointed to chairs. She then went on to say " just to let you know we close at 7 (yes I know) we probably won't be with you for another 10-15 min. If you do order. We won't get to process it till tomorrow IF we even get to it then. I understand the stress of being understaffed in our pandemic world. But learning how to speak to people can get you very far. If she is the manager she is displaying to her fellow employees a horrible work ethic. All of our time is precious and if you have a customer in your store after closing. I would assume you would still service them as if they were the first of the day. My husband and I put down our tray of possible frames and left the store. I was sadly disappointed.
