This is where I buy my eyeglasses. There's a nice selection of frames, good service and great discounts. They're open 7 days a week, too.

Worst customer service once you have bought your glasses. And overpriced for a supposedly economical glasses store. Go somewhere else.

Between COVID and having an unreasonable stash of daily contacts, I put off my eye exam for longer than I should have. I really need new glasses, though, and had some urgency around spending HSA money that was rolled over during the pandemic. Scheduling was easy peasy - I made my appointment on the website and received a confirmation quickly, which included instructions on completing new patient paperwork online in advance. I received a text reminder of my appointment the day before. I was greeted right away, given a few additional forms to fill out, and then taken in back for initial testing. I waited in the lobby for a few minutes before my exam with Dr. Udesky. It was a brief wait and, honestly, the highlight of my day because I got to see how sweetly Dr. Udesky and his team interacted with the patient before me - a little girl who appeared to be four or five years old. She wanted her "eye pictures" to take home and they printed copies for her before sending her off with a fist bump. My exam was great and Dr. Udesky was friendly and warm. I asked a few questions about my current daily contacts, whether contacts or glasses would be better while staring at computer monitors all day, etc. He also gave me some helpful insight into my eye health relative to a medical condition and understanding long term care. I'd been on the fence about ordering glasses or going with an Internet retailer but, genuinely, Dr. Udesky offers competitive pricing (at least in this scenario where I was also committed to ordering contacts). Maria helped me choose frames and I'm excited for them to come in, particularly after years of being unhappy with my glasses from another retailer that bent and were misshapen almost immediately. She was knowledgeable, took my feedback into consideration, and selected the winning pair. I suppose I should mention that I don't have glasses or contacts in hand so this could change, but given how positive my experience was, I'm currently a happy customer and glad to support a local Northbrook doctor and his team. (For the record, I was also sent off with a fist bump and an elbow bump so that doesn't appear to be exclusively for the kids.) :)

I had difficulty seeing anything up close with the contacts I wore that were based on her prescription. Reading books, checking my watch, or reading on my phone was impossible due to the blurriness. It bothered me for 2 years, and I was very frustrated with the issue. I asked her to adjust the prescription several times. She made slight adjustments, which were not helpful. She finally told me she could do no more, or I would have trouble seeing things far away. She also told me that it was normal to have blurry vision while wearing contacts when looking at things close up because contacts are different than glasses. This was incorrect information! I wasn't sure what the problem was, but I figured it was my eyes. Eventually, due to the discomfort, I gave up wearing contacts unless it was absolutely necessary. The issue was finally resolved when I took a trip to Taiwan and consulted an optometrist there who told me that the prescription Dr. Dalporto gave me was entirely wrong and too strong. They said that she should not have simply given me a prescription based on whatever the vision test machine determined. Every prescription needs to be adjusted based on each individual's lifestyle and habits so that anything--both close up and at a distance--can be seen clearly and comfortably. I received a new prescription, and when I tried the new contacts, I immediately noticed a huge difference. They were so comfortable, and I had no trouble seeing or reading things on a computer, on my phone, or close up. The problem I had with blurriness that had been bothering me for years was finally resolved! Now I can wear contacts again--every day, all day. I went back to Dr. Dalporto and asked her to adjust the prescription on file based on the new prescription. She simply copied the numbers directly from the Taiwanese prescription and checked my vision. It was 20/20, of course. Had she actively tried her best to help me achieve the most comfortable and accurate prescription years ago, I would not have suffered so much with blurry vision when trying to see things close up! When I complained, the office manager was cold and impatient and didn't apologize for all the trouble I had been through. Instead, she asked me, "Is there anything else?" At this point, I was so fed up with this mess and so shocked at the customer service I received that I decided to change optometrists completely for my own vision care. One of the fundamental jobs of an optometrist is to give correct, comfortable contact lens prescriptions to patients. If they fail to provide an accurate prescription, it raises serious doubts about their professional competence. This experience proved to me that Dr. Dalporto doesn't care about her patients' vision, nor does she try her best to solve the vision issues they have. Instead, she is very passive, only does what she is asked to do (but poorly), and performs vision tests that a robot could do. In a word, she is incompetent. Don't go to Dr. Dalporto. She is totally unprofessional and won't give you a correct prescription!

I would never even make another appointment there again.

I went to Dr. Katz cause I figured it was time to see an eye doctor and I'm glad I did. I spent a good 2 hours in the exam room with him as he tried to figure out what was wrong with me. Half of the time he spent asking me, "is the red ball above the black ball and if so to what side". Apparently, this is the test which I failed at. I'm so happy, cause now I have glasses and contacts and I can actually read correctly and see things correctly. It's so nice to finally be able to do that after 22 years of not being able to. He's really sweet and his staff is even sweeter. Although, when you do go into the office you'll feel like you immediately time warped to the 70's and no, this is not your eyes playing a trick. Oh on a side note, if you have a really jacked up prescription and he's able to get your contacts, like he was for me, don't even bother asking if color is possible because he'll just stare you down and ask you if you're nuts.

Excellent place to get fitted for a pair of glasses or contacts…read more I had appointment with Dr Socwell Ryan. He was on time, professional, and patient. I was with two toddlers :O) and he still did an excellent job, as well as took time to talk a bit to my over-talkative toddler, showed him some "Gears" and let him press a button (my toddler wants to come back again!) Not that I am recommending coming with toddlers, but just saying that my eyes were checked thoroughly under not so optimal conditions and Dr Socwell bedside manners were excellent too. Natalia helped me choose my frames (I liked three, we narrowed it down to one in 10 min or less). I picked them up today and they are great. Natalia did absolutely brilliant job there. I had to wait a bit for Natalia to complete all the computer forms/verify insurance etc, but another young lady Nora stepped in and helped to speed up that process. I would have liked a bit more explanation from Natalia regarding actual lenses, since on all the upgrades I was not covered by my insurance and I wasn't sure if I needed all three upgrades. Nora explained one upgrade to me (even showed me her glasses to make me understand the difference better), but I was not her client so on the other two upgrades I just trusted Natalia without explanation... Those two lenses upgrades were over $200 extra, so a little explanation as to it's purpose would have been nice... Don't get me wrong, my prescription sunglasses look great, and I am very happy with them, but I still wander if I could skip at least one upgrade and save myself some money... so be aware and ask questions when it comes to lenses upgrades. Nora helped me with the contact lenses. She was absolutely phenomenal in training me how to put contacts in and take them out of my eye (since it was A long time since I used contacts). That young lady has some serious patience and excellent sense of humour. I learned to put lenses in and out of my eyes in 20-25 minutes with some very good tips from Nora. Overall, this is my second time dealing with Rosin Eyecare and I will definitely come back again even though it's a bit far for me. Just for your information: 1. I would recommend choosing weekdays morning/daytime (if you have that luxury) or first thing in the morning on weekend. It's not too busy and everything is very well timed and you don't have to wait at all. 2. Ask questions when it comes to lenses upgrades (you might not want or need them and those upgrades are not cheap) 3. my insurance doesn't cover contact lenses and the prices without insurance at Rosin Eyecare are a bit high (nearly 50% higher comparing to Costco or online retailers for exact same contacts)... They might price match, I didn't ask (that was my mistake, but it was my first time getting contacts and I had no idea prices can vary that much). I think next batch of contacts I might get from Costco wholesales or online :))) but for everything else I will use Rosin Eyecare, excellent doctor and very helpful front desk!

Unfortunately, I forgot my wallet which had my insurance cards. I informed the office two or three times that I have medicare and a medigap supplement. They asked me to email my cards, front and back before they closed at 5:00 PM. I said I'd try, but if I'm not home in time, I'd email the information as soon as possible. I requested three times that they not bill me directly because my insurance would cover the visit in full. The office stated understanding of what I said. I told Dr. Michael Weisberg the problem (forgetting my wallet) and he also said, "not to worry, you won't be billed if you get the information into us by tomorrow." I emailed all necessary documents when we arrived home after attempting to fill the prescriptions at several places (Dr. Weisberg forgot to include a paper prescription for the eye drops). The office billed us immediately after the appointment disregarding all communications with two scattered office personnel and Dr. Weisberg. I called the next morning to confirm they received our documents and they said, 'yes,' but we billed you anyway because we did NOT have them before we closed. This is unacceptable office procedure, especially since the doctor was also privy to the information and said, "Don't worry." The receptionist I spoke to this morning was arrogant and had no ability to fix the problem, nor did she care. She said, "You will receive a bill." I asked to speak to the office manager and she said, "I can only send a message. Sorry I can't help you." She clearly did not care or have the knowledge needed to remedy the situation. So, customer service is '0' and as far as my eye infection goes, we are still waiting on the prescription to be filled. Perhaps Rosins is too large or too corporate to understand the needs of its customers. They probably could use a class on 'Customer Service 101.' Until then, stay away from this eyecare facility.
