Excellent place to get fitted for a pair of glasses or contacts. I had appointment with Dr Socwell Ryan. He was on time, professional, and patient. I was with two toddlers :O) and he still did an excellent job, as well as took time to talk a bit to my over-talkative toddler, showed him some "Gears" and let him press a button (my toddler wants to come back again!) Not that I am recommending coming with toddlers, but just saying that my eyes were checked thoroughly under not so optimal conditions and Dr Socwell bedside manners were excellent too. Natalia helped me choose my frames (I liked three, we narrowed it down to one in 10 min or less). I picked them up today and they are great. Natalia did absolutely brilliant job there. I had to wait a bit for Natalia to complete all the computer forms/verify insurance etc, but another young lady Nora stepped in and helped to speed up that process. I would have liked a bit more explanation from Natalia regarding actual lenses, since on all the upgrades I was not covered by my insurance and I wasn't sure if I needed all three upgrades. Nora explained one upgrade to me (even showed me her glasses to make me understand the difference better), but I was not her client so on the other two upgrades I just trusted Natalia without explanation... Those two lenses upgrades were over $200 extra, so a little explanation as to it's purpose would have been nice... Don't get me wrong, my prescription sunglasses look great, and I am very happy with them, but I still wander if I could skip at least one upgrade and save myself some money... so be aware and ask questions when it comes to lenses upgrades. Nora helped me with the contact lenses. She was absolutely phenomenal in training me how to put contacts in and take them out of my eye (since it was A long time since I used contacts). That young lady has some serious patience and excellent sense of humour. I learned to put lenses in and out of my eyes in 20-25 minutes with some very good tips from Nora. Overall, this is my second time dealing with Rosin Eyecare and I will definitely come back again even though it's a bit far for me. Just for your information: 1. I would recommend choosing weekdays morning/daytime (if you have that luxury) or first thing in the morning on weekend. It's not too busy and everything is very well timed and you don't have to wait at all. 2. Ask questions when it comes to lenses upgrades (you might not want or need them and those upgrades are not cheap) 3. my insurance doesn't cover contact lenses and the prices without insurance at Rosin Eyecare are a bit high (nearly 50% higher comparing to Costco or online retailers for exact same contacts)... They might price match, I didn't ask (that was my mistake, but it was my first time getting contacts and I had no idea prices can vary that much). I think next batch of contacts I might get from Costco wholesales or online :))) but for everything else I will use Rosin Eyecare, excellent doctor and very helpful front desk! read more

0 star eyecare. Forgot my wallet which had my medicare and a medigap cards. Emailed the scans by 7:00 PM after leaving the office at 4:15. Despite understanding that I wanted them to bill the insurance, not me directly, because my insurance would cover the visit in full, they billed me that night. They couldn't even wait until the next morning. The snotty receptionist I spoke to in the morning did not care to remedy the problem. 8 months later, and I am going to need new glasses. Because although i got anti scratch lenses, they are scratched up so horribly that whenever I look through them they are so blurry. I can't even see with these glasses anymore. I called rosin eyecare to ask if they had warranty for these since I bought them under a year ago, or if there was warranty through the lab, but all they told me was "just because it's anti-scratch doesn't mean it's scratch proof." But I don't like how they said that because I had glasses all my life and I never had this happen before to lenses. I only clean them with microfiber cloths too. They are very bad quality. Rosen was supposed to add prisms to my glasses - now 4 months later they are claiming they lost it and I'm out of luck... Dr Weisberg is my doctor. I am mute and can't talk verbally so it's impossible to communicate with them. I'm now completely with out glasses for months and they won't do anything to help. read more

I've gone to Rosin for years. In March 2025, I got an eye exam and two pairs of glasses with progressive lenses, like I've had for years. I began to notice distance is not as clear as I would like. It turns out, my distance vision is slightly better without the new glasses than with them! Don't we wear glasses to improve our vision?! Some older glasses from 2022 actually work better for me. I went in this morning and they said I would need a new eye exam and new lenses and pay out of pocket. The woman said Rosin sold the company to a big company and there's nothing she could do. Absolutely would not recommend any of these locations to anyone. I had an exam completed almost 3 weeks ago. At the time of my visit, I sat down with one of the girls in the front and place an order for my glasses, which were the same exact frames as the last pair I had. I called today to follow up on the status only to be told that the order was never placed and I only paid for my exam. I told the representative that I literally sat there and placed the order with the lady in the front. I previously had a horrible experience at the Glenview location & gave the Northbrook location a chance but I guess every location of theirs is just as horrible as the others. Management needs to figure something out with their staff asap. read more

Not sure how to feel about my recent experience here. Came in for an eye exam and checkup. All went fine. A few weeks later I used my new prescription to order some glasses online for driving. They were blurry. I came back to Rosln NB to see if the glasses may have been made incorrectly. Was told they were correctly made to the prescription I was given by Rosin a few weeks prior. They gave me a new test and a brand new prescription quite different from the original. No apology, just a cold "sometimes that happens". I asked if they would cover any costs I would incur getting my glasses redone with the now corrected prescription and was pretty much told that it was my problem to figure out. The staff at this location is great. There have been some policy changes that don't seem customer service oriented. I brought in a pair of glasses that I purchased there. I couldn't wear the progressive lenses and wanted to switch out the lenses to single vision. I was told that Rosin would no longer guarantee the frame if they were broken during the change. I said I would risk it, but the optician said no. Now I am stuck with beautiful frames that I cannot wear and I would if I could have changed the lenses. Also, they price matched my contact lens order for me for years. Last week I called to order lenses and was told they would no longer price match. It was my decision to follow through with the contact order and I did. Now in retrospect, I feel ripped off and should not have done that. I wasted money. Patel who treated my eye and helped me beat my diabetic retinopathy. I returned just recently and had a follow up with Dr. Silverstein. They both worked to make sure eyesight was fixed. I can't thank them enough. I worked with Colleen Z. To help me pick out frames. She was so nice and knowledgeable. She made sure the frames looked good on me. Never dealt with a more unprofessional front desk. Their system was down on the day I went in and they couldn't take my copay. Fine. They followed up on Monday for the payment, and I asked them if we could instead run the payment on Thursday afternoon. They agreed. I received 4 calls throughout the day on Tuesday. 3 calls on Wednesday and 3 calls and an email Thursday morning. ALL regarding the payment. When I called back Thursday afternoon (like we had agreed) they took my payment and I spoke with the manager...she even saw that in my file there was a note to call back on Thursday afternoon. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this location. The reason I came here is I have dual vision coverage, and Rosin was the first place I've found that accepts both coverages. So that's a definite plus in my favor - I mean really, who wants to go to two separate places? Anyway, the first time I came by was a disaster. I waited 45 minutes, they were seriously overbooked, and I had to return to lunch so we didn't even have time to get stuff done. However, the receptionists were polite and helped reschedule - so I was able to find a time to come by when they didn't have much business so that it was a guarantee. The eye-doc, as it were, was pretty polite and moved very quickly. Got everything done, and did a good job. Also, the location is well organized and clean, and pretty decently spacious. So I'd give them 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that they overbooked the hell out of themselves previously. All in all seems like a decent place to go. read more

Our insurance led us to this optical center to do a checkup for my daughter's eyesight, in fulfillment of her school's optical form. We were pleasantly surprised in how neat the place is, well stocked with branded sunnies & spectacles, has great & efficient service, and simply the BEST optometrist I have ever encountered!! He was a gentle man and grandpa with his own grandchildren. The tests were the tests, but the way he went through the tests and built rapport with my daughter, he's gifted with children!! For example, when looking into her eyes, he would say my gadgets have magic and as I look into your eyes, I will see your favorite cartoon character at the back of your eye. Dr. Rosin (ophthalmologist) is FANTASTIC! He is VERY patient and has a GREAT bedside manner. He explained everything to my 85 year-old grandmother in terms she could understand and answered ALL of our questions. He welcomed our questions and we did not feel rushed. Dr. Vinca (ophthalmologist) is GREAT too and is a glaucoma expert! Dr. Dygola (optometrist) is VERY thorough and was able to provide me with an accurate contact prescription, which can be difficult since I have such a severe astigmatism. After his examination, I found out my vision was actually over corrected. I came in with -4.50 contacts and my prescription is actually -3.50 AND I can see much better now! The ladies at the front desk are friendly and professional. If you are seeking a professional, thorough, smart and caring eye doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Dygola. He is a good listener. He is very thorough with patients and takes the time to answer any questions you may have. I have never felt "rushed" to leave. I have been going here for over 15 years. I get my eyes examined once a year. Once I was having a lot of "pink" eye and was switched over to the "Dailies" contacts (put a new pair on in the morning and throw them away at the end of the night). At first I thought "what a waste of money" (having to throw them away every day). However, I did the math and it was actually cheaper than the previous contacts I used to wear. My insurance covers the eye exam but not the cost of the contacts. At any rate, the only negative I have is the inconvenience of having to drive to Northbrook and/or their Niles, IL location to pick up my contacts. However, I stopped ordering contacts from Rosin's Eyecare many, many years ago. I have been ordering my contacts on-line, because I love the convenience of having them delivered directly to our house. I don't live any where near these two locations. The positive is that the staff are professional and friendly. The doctors are experienced (not fresh out of school) and thorough. Another positive is that they accept almost every insurance, so call and ask if they "accept" your insurance before you book an appointment. There is nothing worse than going to see a doctor only to be informed that they "do not" accept your insurance plan. P.S. I'm actually shocked to see all of the horrible reviews for this place because when I brought my son in for his mandatory Kindergarten exam they were absolutely phenomenal. I happened upon Rosin Eyecare because I called several local places to find out how much the out-of-pocket exam would cost and they had the cheapest price. Since my kids are little and don't have eye problems we don't have vision insurance for them. When I called to make the appointment the receptionist was extremely friendly and made me an appointment over the phone right away. When my son and I arrived the front staff greeted us warmly and was extremely efficient. The doctor was very friendly with my son- I'm not exactly sure his name, however I think he told us it was Dr. Sean. I am assuming that was his first name. The exam was thorough and quick and because the staff was so friendly we will definitely come back next year when my other child needs his Kindergarten eye exam. read more

Drs Dygola and Silverstein are the best. I would follow them to other locations. The staff helping me with frame are equally professional and patient. I do have problems with the receptionists. Unfortunately, they are the customers first point of contact. They are rude and not caring at all. They need training on good customer service. I brought my new glasses to have the nose pads replaced. The lens got scratched and when I called the receptionist insisted that they never touch the lens when replacing the pads. I don't appreciate the implication that I did it. I ended up talking to the manager who was more than accommodating and will replace the lens. 1 star because of customer service, will not come back here but will look for other locations the good doctors are assigned to. read more

I live far from Rosin's but I was in the area and has some time on my hands so I decided to get this "to do" item out of the way. Shawn Dygola, conducted my eye exam. He was friendly and informative. Since I had gotten there early, I done my shopping for new frames by the time my appointment time came. I had narrowed my choices down to three different frames and the staff helped me make my final selection (which, btw, I'm very happy with). Oh, and I have to say, it wasn't easy narrowing it down to three different frames. They had such a fast selection. I have to admit that I went in with the bias that since it was a fancy eye place they would only have high-end frames. Not the case (at least I thought so). Overall, I'm really glad I ended up at Rosin's and would happily go back again even though it's not in my immediate neighborhood. read more

Dr. Rosin is the very best ophthalmologist I have ever gone to. I am 62 years old, was born three 1/2 months prematurely and I'm legally blind, so I've seen the best and I've seen the worst. Dr. Rosin is by far the very best. He explained things that have never been explained to me before, and that's really saying a lot. Not only that, but I'm looking forward to seeing his retina expert in a few weeks, and they've set me up with a great new pair of glasses (at a very good price). The guy ( I believe who is the Manager) talks so loud that you can hear how he explains to his staff how stupid their Clients the differences of insurances from one another and their benefits and what they are allowed for any service/product. Yes, you are smart and knowledgeable but please other Clients wouldn't like to hear what you were saying so gather your staff and discuss it discretely. read more

Called them to ask if they take Medicare/Medicaid. I was told that they do but that we would have to pay $20 for the eye refraction and they had a limited selection of frames for this but it would be free. I had heard previously that Medicaid covers annual eye exams so the $20 cost was surprising but I figured it wasn't a big deal as long as the rest is covered. We get there and give our Medicare and Medicaid cards to them and fill out all the forms. But then I overhear the receptionist tell the doctor that this would be under Medicare. That was surprising since I didn't know Medicare covers routine eye exams. So, I interrupt them and start asking questions. Long story short, the receptionist has to discuss this with her manager and finds out that they would be doing this under Medicare to pay the doctor (plus the $20 fee) but the glasses aren't free. It seems they do this as a way to get around working with the state on Medicaid since technically, routine eye exams aren't covered under Medicare. I'm giving two stars instead of one cause everyone was very nice. I'm sure it would have been fine if we were normal paying or normal vision insurance customers, but I was annoyed at being told over the phone that they would do this under Medicaid for free, except the $20, driving over there and then leaving because they gave us incorrect information. They really should get their information correct as Medicare/Medicaid is not some obscure insurance policy and they really should know the policies. I even overheard a call from someone else asking about the same Medicare/Medicaid question with another receptionist while I was there. In the end, we went to an optometrist in Buffalo Grove who covered Medicaid specifically and did an excellent job examining and working with us. read more

The customer service is exceptional! First, I had trouble finding an Opthamalogist/ optometrist since moving here who could get my RX correct. They nailed it and I was a very happy customer. Then I lost my progressives and realized I couldn't find my back up pair either. I could only work partial days and was really struggling to function. Clarice did everything in her power to get me a replacement pair quickly. She called daily with updates. She even met me after hours to pick them up so I wouldn't have to go all weekend without glasses. I am a true fan and customer for life. read more

Worst customer service ever. The only thing that keeps me from giving Rosin one star, is that the optometrist was good. However, the people at reception/back office need training on better customer service. First issue: when I called to schedule appointment, I was given a hard time because the name of my vision insurance provider didn't match up with what they had on their end. I told them that they were listed as providers under the network per my carrier's website, but according to the Rosin rep, they didn't recognize the name and therefore didn't accept. Even when I offered to give them my vision insurance carrier's phone number, the person from Rosin declined saying that it was between me and my carrier and had nothing to do with her. So I called up my vision insurance carrier and asked them to do a conference call with Rosin to hash things out. NOTE: This hurdle was only for the scheduling portion. Second issue: It took us more than 10 days to get a simple pair of single vision glasses. When I called to check in on Day 11, the person said, "Oh, we received them, but someone from the lab needs to go through and check them, so maybe they'll be ready on Monday." [which would be Day 14] I explained that that we had waited more than 10 days and highly encouraged someone to get back to me as soon as possible--which was later that day. Third issue: I noticed that there was a discrepancy between what they charged us and what the insurance company said was covered and paid for on our EOB. When I went to the Northbrook office to show them, the people at the front desk said I had to call their Berwyn office as it was a computer/accounting issue. Good customer service would have had someone from Rosin making photocopies of docs in question and offer to get back to me within the next couple of days. Instead I was given a business card with the main Berwyn office number and name of the bookkeeper--who may or may not get back to me because the call will get routed to a general voicemail box, which may or may not be checked. Beware! Getting new contacts was a nightmare. I saw the doctor, and he rushed through my check up. I was literally in and out in less than five minutes. This guy set a speed record for an eye check up. They promptly sold me a year's worth of contacts. Sure enough, the prescription was totally wrong. I realized this after experiencing serious discomfort at work and in the car. I set up another appointment with a different doctor. The second time around the doctor basically used the guess and check method to see how I felt about different prescriptions. Dr. Lydia Liu went above and beyond to help me tonight, when no one else would. I work very long, very unpredictable hours so when my vision spontaneously went blurry today, I called 4 other places at 7PM to see if there was a D.O. who could/ would see me nearby. All other places were open but not accepting any more patients for the night, despite my "emergency" and pleading. Dr. Liu was already seeing her last patient when she agreed to see me. They stayed open at least 45 minutes past their closing time to accommodate me. She showed that she cared for my well-being even before I walked into the office. I was able to drive home with clear vision and plenty of samples to last until I could come back. Without her going out of her way tonight, I really don't know how I would have driven home or gone to work tomorrow. Her offices are not necessarily the closest or most convenient locations for me but I will drive out of my way to see a caring, competent, and understanding doctor. I'm so grateful! read more

I had a medical eye problem in October. I randomly went to this location because I couldn't get into my old eye doctor and i was so pleasantly surprised. Dr. Dygola was so nice and so helpful. I had never had an eye problem and after the medicine and some time in my glasses we found a great fitting pair of contacts that didn't give me the same issue. I did have to go 4 times in 3 weeks and i never had to wait so it seems they have their scheduling issues fixed that others complained about. I just went back this week for a check up and again, a great experience. I look forward to picking out my glasses from this office and I even have an appointment for a lasik consultation! read more

Went to Rosin only for glasses with progressive lens. Waited 3 weeks for the glasses to come in. When I tried them on, everything was blurry. The woman tried to tell me that I just needed to get use to the progressive lenses. I've been wearing progressives for over 3 years. After much discussion, they realized I was measured wrong and the glasses needed to be sent back and it would be another two weeks before I got them. Then Rosin gave me a call on Tuesday and said the glasses would ship by middle to late that week. When I called on Saturday, I was told they didn't pass inspection and would not arrive until Tuesday. I don't have a lot of confidence that these glasses will ever be right and I will never go to Rosin again. The glasses are more expensive and service is terrible. read more
