He rushed through the entire procedure by quickly putting eye drops and proceeding immediately with the injection. When I saw the needle heading for my eye, I flinched on impulse and got yelled by this jerk . The jerk yelled at me " are you fucking nuts" , just imagine doctor yelling this during procedure. I felt excruciating pain as he injected needle in my eye. Once again , he clearly rushed (as he told me that he does 25 of these injections a day) and numbing drops clearly were not working yet . I asked my parents who had multiple eye injections done about what they felt during this procedure , they said barely felt anything. The same was confirmed by others. He is simply jerk and uncaring butcher. Left him immediately and went to another specialist.

I'm the only pt in the waiting room but I figure maybe the dr is running late. I go up and ask what the status is for the appointment and Mellisa says it may be 2 to 3 hours." I said did you say 2-3 hours? And she said yeah ... then the other desk admin employee said yeah it's not unusual to wait for appointments for 2-3 hours sir. I said both of you have to be kidding. I said I want to talk to an office manager and they said she wasn't there and I said I will just stand here until someone comes and explains to me why I will be waiting 2-3 hours for an appointment I Made months ago. After another 20 minutes my dr comes out and she looks irritated doesn't greet me and says "come back with me" I said no I want to talk about this out here. I said why do you have staff telling people it will be a 2-3 hour wait for a scheduled appointment and she said I can't come in here and snap my fingers I said what is the reasonable time to wait for an appointment? 15, 20, 30 minutes? fine, but not 2-3 hours that tells me you double or triple booked me in and now I have to spend half a day to be seen that's not ok. She said I was told when I booked the appointment it could take that long to be seen and I asked where in the documents I signed does it say that and I would not have made the appointment if that had been said upfront. I said I do not have a personal problem with anyone there but that their policy of doing this to someone is not ok and they either need to actually tell me people up front or see people in a reasonable time. At my pre-op appointment, Dr. Macsai was more than willing to answer any questions and concerns I had with the procedure. After reading all of the paperwork prior to speaking with her which explained many of the possible risks, I was so incredibly nervous I didn't ask any related questions for fear that I would change my mind completely! I of course did ask how soon I could resume working out at the gym, running and having my eyelashes tinted. The day of my procedure I thought of two additional questions I wanted to ask Dr. Macsai and she was more than willing and patient to answer them. Originally at my consultation (with another doctor) he had recommended monovision. So when completing the form as to what I wanted to have done surgically that is what I marked. I am so glad that I asked Dr. Macsai about this because she took me into another room prior to my surgery to check to see if that would be the best option. As it turns out it wasn't! At no time did I feel silly, rushed or preoccupied due to Dr. Macsai's calm demeanor. Dr. Macsai also takes the time to remeasure and examine you just to double-check what the technicians have done which is again, most reassuring. After being a contact lens wearer for 25 years - and even the occasional glasses - I just wish I would have had the procedure long ago. I am thrilled with the results and even more thrilled that I had such a fine, respectable and pleasant (kind and warm also come to mind) surgeon. I was reassured from the minute I walked into the office not only by Dr. Macsai but also much of the office staff. I highly recommend Dr. Macsai for anyone considering LASIK surgery. Between COVID and having an unreasonable stash of daily contacts, I put off my eye exam for longer than I should have. I really need new glasses, though, and had some urgency around spending HSA money that was rolled over during the pandemic. Scheduling was easy peasy - I made my appointment on the website and received a confirmation quickly, which included instructions on completing new patient paperwork online in advance. I received a text reminder of my appointment the day before. I was greeted right away, given a few additional forms to fill out, and then taken in back for initial testing. I waited in the lobby for a few minutes before my exam with Dr. Udesky. It was a brief wait and, honestly, the highlight of my day because I got to see how sweetly Dr. Udesky and his team interacted with the patient before me - a little girl who appeared to be four or five years old. She wanted her "eye pictures" to take home and they printed copies for her before sending her off with a fist bump. My exam was great and Dr. Udesky was friendly and warm. I asked a few questions about my current daily contacts, whether contacts or glasses would be better while staring at computer monitors all day, etc. He also gave me some helpful insight into my eye health relative to a medical condition and understanding long term care. I'd been on the fence about ordering glasses or going with an Internet retailer but, genuinely, Dr. Udesky offers competitive pricing (at least in this scenario where I was also committed to ordering contacts). Maria helped me choose frames and I'm excited for them to come in, particularly after years of being unhappy with my glasses from another retailer that bent and were misshapen almost immediately. She was knowledgeable, took my feedback into consideration, and selected the winning pair. I suppose I should mention that I don't have glasses or contacts in hand so this could change, but given how positive my experience was, I'm currently a happy customer and glad to support a local Northbrook doctor and his team. I had one exam by one optometrist and I don't understand how you can tack on another $130 to the $217 being charged for the basic eye exam for a total of $347 for one eye exam.
