Everything went very smoothly. One thing about this doctor I like is that he will give you his honest opinion. I guess it's easy for me to say that as I passed the exam with flying colors, but I think I would prefer that anyway. He gave me some really good advice the first time I came in to see him and I appreciated it. It saved me both money and insurance hassles. My father also sees Dr. Bendikas, and my mother used to see him too. Unfortunately, she has a complicated vision issue and he felt she needed a specialized care. He recommended someone else and he turned out to be the best specialist in the Chicagoland area. I can honestly say I think Dr. Bendikas is not only a good doctor, but a doctor that can be trusted to give good advice.

During the appointment, the doctor was extremely rude and condescending while explaining the patient's eyesight condition. I was shocked by her lack of empathy and her mean-spirited tone. At one point, she even stated, "Why are you here? We are not going to treat your eye condition." We were well aware of the situation, but were attending the clinic for a necessary yearly visit. Furthermore, throughout our visit, the doctor was pacing from room to room while yelling at her staff, which created a very uncomfortable environment. Due to this experience, we will never return to this clinic, nor will we refer anyone else to your practice. I believe it is important for you to be aware of how patients are being treated. The front reception area is terrible. 4-5 receptionists at the front desk, and they are all on their computers doing whatever or b.. s.....g with each other while completely ignoring you. The patient signs in and waits and waits until receptionist decides to look at sign-in sheet. Then patient waits some more: no greeting, no nothing. They are rude and unobliging. Put these receptionists and their computers in the back and get people at front desk that will greet and sign in patients. I stood in front of desk today for almost 10 minutes as two receptionists BS'd with someone about the weather, and the others were on computers, before one of them looked at me. This is not a onetime thing. Dr. Jose did my cataract surgery last year, and I've had several visits since. It's always the same. Expect each visit to last 1 1/2 hours. Mostly waiting.

The man that really makes this very popular office what it is is Dr John Moy, a renowned cataract specialist. There are of course other competent doctors here but a few have come and gone. There are also a bunch of technician staff helping out with various eye health tests. This place is far from perfect though as the waits are usually long, and that's the only reason for the 1 star knock. It's not that they are slow, there are just a lot of patients per doctor due to demand for their good services. We always try to get early morning appointments and they usually have to be done 6 months and even a year in advance. Dr Moy is one of those doctors who is booked for the whole year if you're not already a patient. If there is some test that may not be covered by insurance (and there are only two that we have encountered), the staff always gives us a headsup first. Anyway, we are very happy with our eye health care here and the other doctors on staff we have seen are Dr Indre Rudaitis and Dr Kaushik Annam, a glaucoma specialist.

Every year I show up on time, early even and every year I sit and wait between 30-60 minutes past my appointment time, even when nobody else seems to be there. Today I had a 12:45 appointment. I got there at 12:30, as requested, to check in and go over my insurance, etc. There were 3 ladies behind the registration counter. They told me to have a seat, and they would call me very soon. There was no one else in the waiting room so I hoped this was going to be a short wait, or at the least, be on time. As soon as I sat down, all 3 disappeared. I assume they went to the back to have lunch. Another lady came out to help another patient that had walked in. So now there are 4 ladies working in this office. I waited 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment. Not 1 person communicated to me that the doctor was seeing another patient or had fallen behind or anything. Basically, I was completely ignored so 75% of the office staff could eat lunch together. The 4th lady that did appear, suddenly disappeared as well. Another couple walked in and were waiting at the front counter for 5-10 minutes when I decided to give up and leave. I will find another eye doctor that has a staff that can communicate with its clients and actually get you in on time. Shameful!!

He had to turn his head in order to correct direction of his eye & shake his head to straighten out his vision. The health departments sent home letters stating he needs to be seen by an eye doctor. Dr. Vile did a quick exam & verbally dismissed that there was nothing to be concerned about, come back in a year if isn't better, your sitter is wrong. Here we are one year later, the school continues to send home letters and today we visited another Optometrist & my son has Amblyopia in his left eye, they same eye we said is wondering, weaker. Needless to say, I'm infuriated that my son had to suffer another year because Dr. Vile did not diagnose. I would never recommend your business.
