After evaluating my son Dr. Daisy confirmed that his vision was fine, but she was worried that the headaches were being caused by weak eye muscles and thought he could possibly benefit from vision therapy. She gave us some exercises to try at home, but recommended we also look into vision therapy. I did a little research on where people go for vision therapy (who knew there was such a thing?) and made an appointment here for an evaluation at Vision Rehabilitation. We saw Dr. Sorensen in April for a longish (1.5 hours?) appointment which my son didn't seem to mind. At the end she did confirm he would benefit from 16 weeks of vision therapy to strengthen his eye muscles and would also help him from losing his place when reading etc. I asked for a report that I could read thru and possibly use for school accommodations. She promised to get it to me within 2 weeks. 2 months later I realized I never got the report so I followed up and recently received it, which was helpful to pass along to my son's teacher. The thought of adding another weekly appt to my busy kids schedule right now didn't seem appealing so I figured I"d call back in the spring to get this going in the summer. At my son's recent physical our pediatrician recommended we get a second opinion from Lurie before starting the therapy so we just booked with the Dr. he recommended for this coming April (the soonest we could get in). And from there we'll decide on next steps for vision thearpy. If you don't want to go to Lurie overall we had a good experience with this office and Dr. Sorenson seemed to pretty knowledgeable.

His professional and warm personality made the experience totally worthwhile. I was referred to him in 2023 after my previous Optomologist retired. I knew I was going to be a candidate for cataract surgery and two years later I was. I have now had cataract surgery on both of my eyes within the last month. It is truly a miracle after wearing glasses for 50 years to be able to pick out implant lenses. He provided me the option of never having to wear glasses again!! What made this even more concerning is that she proceeded to collect an excessive amount of sensitive personal information, including my full name, date of birth, address, phone number, and and detailed insurance information - only to abruptly demand my credit card number at the end, without any proper explanation or transparency. This felt highly inappropriate and raised serious concerns about privacy and security. I was left with multiple unanswered questions, but after being treated this way, I genuinely feel uncomfortable and hesitant to call back. No one should feel intimidated or disrespected simply for trying to get information. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the entire office. Not only does he always get my prescription right the first time but what he charges is significantly less than any of the big chains. For example, 8 months ago I went in for an eye exam and purchased a new pair of designer glasses from him. I don't have any type of vision insurance anymore because my employer discontinued that from our health plan, so it's all out of pocket. When it was all said and done, he charged me less than 1/2 of what I paid at LensCafters the last time I purchased glasses, when I DID have vision care on my insurance! Then 8 months goes by and my dog chewed up my glasses. I went in to order a new pair (expecting to pay full price) and he set me up with a new pair of glasses and gave them to me at HIS cost! I guarantee that none of the other big chains would do that for a customer. He's a great optometrist and a very reputable businessman. He's been at this a long time and I can tell you that he is a really nice person and will go out of his way to ensure that you are a satisfied customer. I'd absolutely recommend him.

They are highly ethical and treat both their patients and staff with the utmost respect. I have been examined by Dr. Wood for floaters. I am developing a cataract (fortunately does not need surgery) but when the time comes I would travel to Arlingon Heights from Chicago. They have the most up to date technology including laser cataract surgery.
