Great experience buying and getting glasses here. I've come back in a few times for adjustments and it's quick and fixed well every time.

I've been with another eye glass company for years, only left because of a change in insurance. I tried this place because it was close by and seemed easy. Getting my appointment done was fine, it was the customer service after. I was told by the doctor he was going to slightly adjust my prescription- that's fine I've done that throughout the years whatever. I used that prescription to order glasses online and they just came in the mail. Ive worn them for three days now and they just give me a headache. I don't have a very strong prescription to start out with but it was like I'm not even wearing glasses and getting headaches just like I do when I don't wear my glasses. I called Lens Crafters to ask if I could talk to the doctor about switching back to my old prescription. Rochelle? or sounded like Deshell? I'm not sure since she said it so fast when I asked. She was so rude. when I explained the situation the first thing she said was "well the test the doctor gives you when you're here, tells the doctor what to make your prescription"?? (I was actually aware of this) and I explain that it doesn't work for me. She then asks where I got the glasses from and proceeds to tell me that ordering through outside places can potentially lead to lenses not looking right. Then she says "your prescription isn't even strong, what would you like me to do?". I just said I wanted to know what to do to get my old prescription back. She then continues with I can't guess what your prescription used to be. You can bring your glasses in so we can read them if you want an exact copy but I can't guess what your prescription is. I said okay so I can bring my glasses in?? She said "yes since I can't guess what they are". Wtf?? At this point I asked what her name was and that's when I got her fast response. Upon making an appointment with this location in Valley River Center, Eugene, OR. I specifically asked if they were within my network for my insurance for an eye exam. I was told they were within my network so I made an appointment upon getting there. I was told that they were not, but they accepted my insurance. This was very misleading because I specifically asked the question. I honestly didn't care how much much they were gonna charge me or whether they weren't gonna charge me very much. It was the fact that they were deceitful about being within network for exams. Then I was also told that Lenscrafter themselves were not within network at all but that they did bill my insurance. after learning them, I walked out of this location. read more

I ordered glasses in February. Almost 3 months later they never came. No explanation given. Everytime I call I hear "we are working on them we will call you when they are ready" I paid over $500 for glasses that I cant function without. I can't work, I can't drive, it has caused my life to stop and all I get is the runaround. I finally got my husband in for a eye exam. The last two appointments he scheduled they said he wasn't confirmed for that appointments he sent him home. Well after trying for a third time and confirming today's appointment, yesterday evening I received a call stating all appointments were canceled today for Covid cleaning. This is highly unprofessional when this could of been done prior to opening the store today. With so many people waiting to get appointments due to Covid then you cancel it the night before? This is horrible business practices. Needless to say we won't be going here. I been tell the reception I need to do the eye exam with contact exam as well. And I been ask her what kind of fee after my insurance. She told me $20 copay total due. Then after I did all the exam then coming let me pay $52 contact lenses fitting fee. None told me this. So I stated talk to the billing manager over there. She had so bad attitude and started yelling at me on the showroom. And saying I rejected doctor service. I said I never said that. You need disclosures customer first. Now they play the game and also no customer service at all. Specially be a manager treat a customer like shit, I am sorry to use this word. She he horrible and bad attitude. They were so friendly and helpful. I have kind of a paranoia and fear about opticians because I got teased a lot as a little kid for having glasses as thick as I do, so I associated going to an optician with coming home with increasingly hideous glasses and then going to school to get mocked. Plus my eyes deteriorate pretty consistently and I felt judged. Not here! I really enjoyed my experience. The whole staff is nice. Amazingly fast and efficient! Was there with my 6 loud noisy kids and received splendid attendance. Very family friendly, I wouldn't recommend putting their staff through something like what i did, but they were super understanding and helpful. Was recommended by my boss and we were seen the next day with dr. Cuevas (my new favourite doc) and recieved brand new quality glasses ready in less than 30 min! After searching at 3 other places for frames, I was surprised to find my perfect pair at LensCrafters. Rachel was incredibly helpful, showing me frames and helping me pick them out. She was very knowledgeable about the different lens options they offer. I had a good experience at this LensCrafters. They are inside the Valley View Mall near the movie theater (I'm telling you this because I always get lost in that mall). I went in for an eye exam and they were able to get me in the same week for an appointment. The staff was nice and gave me some forms to fill out. The whole experience was easy and stress free. The optometrist himself was very nice and had a calm energy which helps when you're sitting in a little room with someone. He explained things thoroughly to me and didn't make me feel like he was rushing to get me out. One thing that I had an issue with was that they quoted me the wrong price over the phone for the exam. The total for an eye exam with a contact lens prescription is $188 if you're paying out of pocket. Besides that hiccup of being quoted $15 less it was still a good experience in all. read more

Working standard office hours means that I have to find places that work with me, so LensCrafters is my go-to given their late nights and weekends. I only have purchased frames with lenses there and each time it's gone off smoothly. They told me it would be a week or two before my glasses would be ready since they had to send them away due to my prescription not being in stock. My glasses came in early and now they offer a text message when they arrive, so there's no song and dance, missed calls and garbled messages! That's my favorite part. I got the text at 5PM and was in my car going that direction within moments. Keep in mind you pay extra for convenience, I am happy to do so, others not so much. If you want a bargain, you want to go somewhere else. read more

Went in for first appointment, got a pair of contact lenses to try out (I usually wear Air Optix Aqua - he gave me Air Optix Hydroglide to try out). I wore them a few days, was told they were going to check in on me during the week to see how they fit. There was no check in and the lenses were not comfortable. Perhaps the prescription was off but reading things close up (books, computer, etc) was difficult and so uncomfortable that I switched to wearing my outdated glasses (I was planning on also purchasing glasses with them). I went in for a recheck and all Dr. Cuevas did was do one test on each eye and prescribed the same prescription I had before my initial appointment with him. While I am not a doctor and don't know anything about the ways in which optometrists measure sight, it seems like this was a lazy attempt at figuring out what the problem is - it was a quick fix for him but not for me. I might as well not have gone in for an initial appointment at all - would have been cheaper for me in the long run. Overall, a doctor doesn't necessarily have to have outstanding interpersonal skills, but Dr. Cuevas doesn't even have "good" interpersonal skills. He seems to be lacking all of this, which for a doctor of any kind is something to worry about. Additionally, before my first appointment I had called to make sure my insurance was accepted (i.e. was in-network) and was told simply yes - turns out it is out of network which means I don't get full-coverage. I understand this was my fault for not double checking this office's insurance policy, but at the same time I do think they have an obligation to give the patient (or potential patient) all of the information up front. Lenscrafters, being a large corporation, simply needs as many patients in and out as they can possibly get (as does Dr. Cuevas - what a cushy job he has). There is no focus on good customer attention and no care for patients' well-being. Never coming back here, will certainly not be ordering from them, and will never refer anyone to this office. For all of those people who give this optometrist 5 stars, obviously you have never had outstanding customer service at a doctors office - this place lacks as do many other health care providers in Eugene (world capital for terrible health care service and customer service to patients in many medical fields) as has been my experience so far in the 2 years I have lived here. Well needless to say I NEVER come back here! I have gotten my contacts before here and they were fine so I decided to switch my glasses here to. Well I'm sorry that I did! I got my glasses and since I wear contacts I didn't try them out until the night. Well I found out they were the wrong prescription! I went in the next day and told them the prescription was wrong and could they fix it for little to no cost. (IT WAS their falt), and they said "no you would have to buy another pair". Needless to say I walked out and have never been back! And since I need special glasses (featherlight to make them actually wearable!, tinted lenses, among other things) they had me pay $600! I ordered contacts and said it be 2-3 weeks. I called 3 1/2 weeks later and said they were in. I asked when they came they said april 1st it was april 23rd. So they lied to me and when I went to pick up my contacts they acted like everything was fine. Where to start? Placed order for RGP bifocal segmented contact lenses 12/18/18. I was NOT told at the time that contact evaluation would be "extra" ($80). I was there for appointment time 10:00 (Sunday). Door did not opened till 10:30. In to see approx 10:45. Told that contacts would be "about a week". NO contact from Lens Grafters. I called 1/7/19 for update and was told "no record of order" and "we will call back". They called back @ 3:30 same day, and told it was shipped 1/4/19. In on 1/11/19. Pick up on 1/12/19. WRONG contacts. A condescending DR. RON CUEVAS 1st tried to influence me not to get RGP contacts (original visit). Then after saying he could not get them, said that "yes" he could. On 1/15/19 when I could not see with the contacts he ordered, I went back to determine the problem. He would not listen to my problem and insisted that he "heard" it the 1st time and those were the contacts he ordered. Why would he not address my issue and let me be so frustrated that I would cancel my order after almost 1 month? I will NOT visit or buy from the Eugene Valley River Center (Eugene) location NOR recommend them to friends/family/etc. read more

I am rating this a 3 star only for the selection of glasses. I don't desire two sets of glasses, one sun and one regular. I prefer a magnetic sun glass that is made as part of a set for my regular glasses. LensCrafters does not offer this. I do give the staff a 5 star, each one I have worked with are professional and courteous. Unless the selection includes the style I want, I will not be back. I'm really sad at the recent Dr. Cuevas reviews because I personally loved him and one of his assistants every time I've been in. They were fabulous and switching from glasses to contacts was the easiest process here. Not much has gone well for me in Oregon, but he was great! I truly can't speak for the rest of the people in the actual process of picking out frames and not having to deal with the optometrists but I really appreciated the service my dad and I were given. read more

I had my yearly optometry check up done here, it was by far the worst experience I've had in the 17 years I've worn prescription glasses. The optometrist on site has absolutely zero interpersonal skills what so ever. He rushed through my appointment and literally forgot to write down my second prescription. I've had a double astigmatism for most of my life and require progressive lenses. He only gave me a prescription for being nearsighted... on top of that I've been wearing the acuvue oasys contacts for a number of years, he insisted that those aren't a good option... then proceeded to send me home with a pair that he felt was BEST. These are the literally the most uncomfortable pair of contacts I've worn, and have resorted to wearing my old prescription glasses. The optometrist ( Dr. Cuevas) is very unprofessional and borderline rude, he leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to professionalism and courtesy. This was hands down THE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE HAD. In 17 years of being a continuous optometry patient I've never been so disappointed nor has a dr ever "forgotten" to add an additional precipitation. read more

I had an expensive pair of Ray Ban sunglasses smashed inside a suitcase. Took them in to LensCrafters to see if they could repair them. They took a look at them and asked me to give them a couple of minutes. I thought they were going to tell me they had to either send them out or that they were not repairable. Instead, he worked on them, straightened them out and got the lens back in. They were better than before, particularly since I have had these sunglasses for well over 5 years. He then asked me if I would like them cleaned! After I got them back I asked what the charge was and was surprised when he told me, "no charge." Excellent and friendly service, professional environment and I will certainly use them again when I replace my glasses. read more

On June 7, 2018...I went in LensCrafters to have my glasses repaired as I bought them there & LensCrafters have lifetime warranty of their glasses. Younger man named Daniel was working & said he would fix them. He was extremely Rude, incompetent, as I watched him ruin my glasses... At second location in store that he had me go. He again trying to fix my glasses banging on table, again putting nothing under glasses to protect them as I watch in horror!!! I finally said I had to go & I would leave my glasses. He said he would call & did not. I called LensCrafters next late afternoon & again he, Daniel was rude but said my glasses were fixed. Today, June 17, 2018 I went to LensCrafters Valley River in Eugene, Oregon & got my glasses from lady, Heather ( glasses are badly scratched & she also noticed) At this time she looked for me on computer & My account and Name had been totally REMOVED!!! My thoughts on this business is they need to be removed by LensCrafters as before for more than 20 yrs I was treated with upmost respect & honesty! Sorry - I am not impressed. After three weeks, I finally got my new lenses in my existing frames. I understand that the lenses had to be ordered - that is fine! I expected that! But before I knew the lenses had to be ordered, I called ahead to see if they were in stock, and I was told they were in stock. I read my prescription to the sales guy over the phone and he even looked me up in the system. Imagine my surprise when I went all the way to the mall to get my glasses done only to be told that the lenses were NOT in stock. Oh well... When they finally arrived (late, by the way), I was told to come on down any time and it would take about half an hour to put the lenses into my frames. Guess what?! After being ignored for nearly 20 minutes (again), the young salesdude took my glasses into the lab and then said okay - it should be about 30 minutes but it might be two hours. I asked him which it was - 30 minutes or two hours - "I think it will be more like 2 hours". He said his manager was the only one who could put the lenses in my frame. And then started to walk away. I had to fight to keep his attention - it was obvious he wasn't interested in my questions - and I asked to talk to his manager. He told me couldn't barge in on her and tried to walk away again. I asked for my glasses back as I can't give them up for "maybe two hours or even more". The dude acted like it was an imposition to go get my glasses back out of the lab when he could be making money. I was angry when I left, and called the store a short time later. I was told a machine was down, which is why the lenses couldn't be put in my frames. Regardless - in this store, when you walk in, no one will acknowledge your presence if they are with a customer. At the very least, look up and smile, and say "Someone will be with you shortly". No one answers the phone, either. I witnessed several customers just standing and waiting for some acknowledgement while the phone rang and rang. This is not good business. I was a Lenscrafters customer years ago, and now I know why I decided not to go back any more. read more
