I did lots of…read moreresearch in the area before I got my surgery done, and have specifically waited several months before offering my full review to ensure I could give a review of the entire process. From the get-go, the office staff were incredibly accommodating and welcoming. After the first visit, they all knew me by name and knew exactly who I was when I called in. The office is incredibly flexible with appointments, and is willing to work around your schedule. After I went in for my consultation and was waiting for my results, I got a call from the office saying that I needed to come back in for some more imaging. When I got there, I was told that my eyes were really unique, and Dr. Haines was getting second opinions from doctors before proceeding. I was pretty worried that I wouldn't qualify, but after consulting with other doctors, Dr. Haines felt that it was safe to proceed. I really appreciated the fact that he was putting my safety first, and was allowing me to visit his office so much without me having to pay a dime (since I had not yet committed at that point). He really cares about his patients health and safety. Everything from the first visit to the actual surgery went incredibly smoothly. I never felt worried, awkward, or out of place. On the day of the surgery Dr. Haines had a masseuse there to ease up his patients prior to the surgery. As for the surgery itself, it went flawlessly. At the end, I was gifted a dvd that recorded the surgery through the microscope. It is amazing! When I was reading reviews and doing research for lasik in Oregon, I kept trying to look for a price listed online but no place offered them. When I called most offices, I was told to come in for a consultation and they could tell me there. However, when I called Dr. Haines's office, I was told immediately on the phone that it would be just over $5000 for both eyes. This included all of the eye medication I would need, and any follow up corrective surgery I may need the following year. Since I'm a college student, I asked if they had financing options and sure enough, you can finance it out over 2 years with no interest. It comes out to just over $200 a month and it is the best decision I have made in my life. My eyes have been perfect following the surgery, and I highly, highly recommend anyone on the fence to pull the trigger and get lasik. It is life changing. Thank you everyone at Oregon iLasik!

Jennifer did my initial scans and was super nice, quick, and explained everything to me very clearly. The process was easy and painless thanks to her. I went with the Nikon eye scan instead of a dilation because I had to drive after and I'm so glad I did. I waited for a bit while Dr. Phillips finished with his previous patient and looked over my scans and paperwork, then he came out and got me for my exam. He was very thorough and showed me my eye scan. I got a new prescription and he walked me out to the lobby again. Alana helped me pick frames and lenses. She picked out several options for me and I picked the one I liked the most with her support. She was very nice the whole time and took the stress out of the whole process. I put off getting new glasses for 14 years because of the stress and anxiety associated with going to the eye doctor and adjusting to new lenses and frames each time your prescription changes. The people here made the entire process so easy that I am confident I won't have any reservations about keeping up with regular exams again.

Later I was finally able to find outside care for my situation, however, Portland or California was the only places I could find treatment. Dr. Beardsly had setup his office in Eugene and has extended offices and his services to satellites offices nearer to Grants Pass. I feel like I get just what I need. The service is good and yet the office is busy. I needed additional special care for one thing and they were helpful getting me to where I needed to go for treatment.

I called him out on his inconsistencies he had said to me previously and he completely lost control, yelled at me and walked out of the exam room and then charged for a long visit that took less than 5 minutes with no exam or medical treatment. I had a previous retina detachment that wasn't completely sealed and had formed a bubble. Dr. Beardsley said that we'll watch it and if it needs to be repaired, I'll be able to have the same laser procedure that I had before to repair it, but it wasn't a condition where I would go blind. We watched it and it got a little bigger and he said I had to have a surgery in a surgical center with anesthesia. When I questioned him about what he had said before, he immediately got angry and said I was going to go blind if I didn't have the surgery. I fully intended on having the problem fixed, but I didn't want an invasive surgery that before he said I wouldn't need and wanted to know why it couldn't be repaired the way he originally said. He refused to answer my questions and then angrily yelled at me and walked out of the exam room. I have had a number of retina detachments and with the first one I saw Dr. Beardsley. He said I had to immediately have surgery in a hospital. (At that time he operated in a hospital instead of a surgical center.) I was from out of town and simply couldn't do it immediately for a number of reasons and he argued with me that I had to or go blind. I said I just couldn't do it right then the next day. Only then did he say that he could put a bubble in my eye and the retina repaired a week later in the office with a laser procedure. I then was able to have the procedure done in my home town by another doctor without having to travel and having an invasive surgery that is much more likely to have complications, especially with other eye surgery I've had. When I mentioned this interaction, he yelled, "I never put a bubble in your eye." Well, he did but didn't remember and insisted he hadn't. If he looks back at his records, he will see he was dead wrong. I subsequently saw another retina specialist that repaired the retina in office with the laser procedure that I had had before in office without invasive surgery, anesthesia or having to travel 260 miles round trip to a surgical center. I suspect Dr. Beardsley missed out on a big pay day by not being able to perform that surgery that he insisted on and maybe that is why he got so angry. He also missed out on the first time I saw him.

They scheduled him for cataract surgery. Told him to be at the hospital at 7am for the procedure. Waited 1.75hrs before they even called him back then started the surgery 1 hr late. Took him to a follow up that same afternoon after the surgery. 3:30pm appt time. We ended up seeing Dr Neale just before 5pm!! And when my dad mentioned he was not happy about the wait time Dr Neale acted like we were the ones being rude and he literally talked so fast through all of like 3 minutes of follow up time. So we waited an hour and a half there to have about 3 minutes with the Dr acted like it was rude of us to say something about that. Today in total between both appointments we spent over 3 hours just waiting for them. I can understand running late some of the time but consistently making patients wait for hours is terrible business practice. I don't think they would like their time being treated that way.

But I wasn't going to judge based upon one comment. I met Dr. Neale briefly for the first time two days before the surgery. He spent the entire time trying to up sell me to a lens that cost $5000 dollars more than the basic and was not insurance covered. He reminded me of a used car salesman; "Do you ever go to Hawaii? A trip to Hawaii costs more than this. Aren't your eyes worth as much as a trip to Hawaii?" I cancelled the surgery and went to Dr. Haines at the Eye Center. He found that part of my vision problems in that eye involved a membrane that had grown over (not uncommon). Cataract surgery would do no good unless that was removed first. I didn't ask, but he also told me that any lens beyond the basic was not appropriate for me. Amazing. The membrane was removed and both cataracts replaced. Turned out Great!
