Sequence of events: 1. First appointment, the receptionist asks me if I knew anything about computers and Gmail as she was having problems setting it up. I meet with Dr. and specifically order new Gas Permiable contacts, bLue (Left eye), and gReen (Right eye) so I don't mix them up (the dot put on Right contact to tell which is which always disappears after a while). After waiting several weeks for call that they are ready, both came back clear. 2. Reorder and wait several more weeks for delivery. 3. Less than a month, Left contact broke/chipped. It wasn't quite right anyway so I asked for another appt to see if we could get better vision - Reordered Left contact but gave both as they were in same case. 4. After several weeks, I got call that contact was ready. I go to pick up and they only give me Left contact. I asked where the right contact was. Receptionist inquired and said it is on order? I explained it didn't need to be reordered as it was perfect. 5. After several weeks I get call that Right contact is ready. I use my short lunch hour to drive across town to get it. After waiting a while until my turn, I hear receptionist on phone to manufacturing company asking if my contact was delivered to her office! She had called me telling me it was ready for pick up! I see her rifeling through files and going to back room. She asks me to have a little more patience! All I could muster was "I got to go!" as I had to get back to work. I was so angry and frustrated. I never got a call from the office. They mailed me my contact! I'm not wearing them as they still don't fit well, but I will NEVER go back there again. I will continue to wear my old contacts and only use the new contacts in an emergency. Anita F

The entire staff was delightful except one girl at the front desk who really needs to learn to relax. She wasn't rude? But doesn't seem to know how to multitask when working on the phone and talking to customers and her coworkers. When picking out glasses the sales people were super helpful and checked up on me every so often since I was being delightful. If I do end up getting new insurance that this place takes I will definitely come back!

She spoke down to me like a child because she apparently couldn't be bothered to type a few keystrokes into her computer. When my contacts finally came in, I went to pick them up only to be met with a wall of excuses and lies. First, they couldn't find my glasses. Then came the ridiculous stories: claiming weekends don't count as part of the week, and then blaming my insurance company for making them and causing a delay. I've worn glasses since I was a teenager and I have never heard such garbage in my life. I actually had to walk out and go to Bi-Mart just to cool down and keep them from ruining my day. While I was gone, my wife stayed, and wouldn't you know it--they suddenly "found" my glasses. They had just filed them wrong. Mistaking a file is human, but inventing a massive web of imaginary scenarios and insurance lies instead of just being honest is unacceptable. To top it all off, when we got home, I realized they had marked both sets of my contacts as the left eye. Granted, they are trail pair, but still. I refuse to ever set foot in this office again. I would seriously rather wear a 10-year-old prescription than ever give this place another dime of my money. If you enjoy being talked down to and lied to, this is the place for you. Otherwise, stay far away.

Jennifer did my initial scans and was super nice, quick, and explained everything to me very clearly. The process was easy and painless thanks to her. I went with the Nikon eye scan instead of a dilation because I had to drive after and I'm so glad I did. I waited for a bit while Dr. Phillips finished with his previous patient and looked over my scans and paperwork, then he came out and got me for my exam. He was very thorough and showed me my eye scan. I got a new prescription and he walked me out to the lobby again. Alana helped me pick frames and lenses. She picked out several options for me and I picked the one I liked the most with her support. She was very nice the whole time and took the stress out of the whole process. I put off getting new glasses for 14 years because of the stress and anxiety associated with going to the eye doctor and adjusting to new lenses and frames each time your prescription changes. The people here made the entire process so easy that I am confident I won't have any reservations about keeping up with regular exams again.

Doing so has greatly changed my life for the better. The high degree of expertise, patience and direction produced a pair of problem solving frames and lenses that other establishments including low vision experts told me would be impossible. And my new glasses look and feel great. These professionals are truly remarkable.

What they actually did is take away my prisms and so I was seeing double. Confirmed they shouldn't have taken away my prism when I got my eyes rechecked. So I made the decision to get a full refund, and it was under 30 days so they gave it to me right away. Which was the most beneficial part of the process. While I was waiting, another customer told me, that he had the exact same thing happen to him there, and it was outside of the 30 days and they never actually addressed his issue, told me he's stuck with the work insurance and has to use them. This made my decision to get a refund instead of going back and fourth with them confirmed. What they do well: Sales, the sales folks here will sell a snake to a snake, at your costs. Service: the eye doctor is just trying to get a bonus. The tactic: they will intentionally/dishonestly adjust your prescription incorrectly, when you call they will not answer and try to wait until you're outside of your 30 day period so they don't have to get you a refund, or actually fix anything!! Go here at your own peril, you're local boutique optometrist whoever they are, will actually do a much better job. Stay away from these bottom feeders. Also, check to make sure they are using you're insurance benefit, becuaus Ed they are not in network for many insurance companies, but will pitch you glasses at a higher rate and act as if using some discount is a greater benefit than using your actual benefits. Ask the sales people about it, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to share. Again, go at your own risk!

I was so fed up with my last doctor and not being able to see properly, and them not listening to my concerns or trying to understand what I was telling them about my vision. Well let me tell you that Dr. Rowe is just as much in the customer service business as he is an optometrist. I have rarely had such great personal attention from a medical professional. He genuinely listens to your issues, presents alternatives, values input from his patients, and goes the extra mile to be SURE that you are in the prescription you need and want. I refused to give his office staff any prior information from my other doctor when I made the first appointment. I had lost so much faith in optometrists that I didn't want any prior "facts" skewing his opinion of my eyes and the prescription I would need. I am so happy to say that after THE FIRST visit, I had a set of trial contacts in my hand which I tried over the weekend, came back the following week and we confirmed that these were the contacts for me. I am still shocked at how easy and enjoyable it was! The staff is very friendly and easy to get along with, the office is small and clean and quiet. Very professional. This is what an optometrist's office should be.

His attention to detail and follow-up is the best I've ever received. Thank you so very much, Dr. Rowe. That being said, Dr. Rowe is retiring. However, I feel confident that those same qualities allowed him to choose an excellent replacement. I will be staying with his practice.

The difference in professionalism, selection, competence and honesty was amazing. Not only did the store manager advise me well re having a local optometrist check me (b/c prescription was complex), but she spent extra time with me to be certain I chose the right frames for me. When my first pair of glasses arrived, they made an ENORMOUS difference in my vision--remarkably improved. Unfortunately the second pair of was incorrectly transmitted to the manufacturer (a new employee) resulting in wrong lenses. When I came in to pick them up and noted the apparent problem in the second pair, she (store manager) rechecked the lenses, and immediately took responsibility for the mistake, and set about ordering a corrected pair. The way this was handled was spot-on. Stepping forward, taking ownership and immediate action was most encouraging. I'm currently awaiting my second pair (for reading) and anticipate they will be great as well. So glad I stopped in. I'll use Visionworks (specially this one) for all of my future optical needs.
