Part of my experience has been professional and helpful. But when I scheduled to have my lenses fixed, they asked me to make a 1 hr appt to get the new lenses cut to my frames. I dropped them off at the specified time and they didn't do anything with them for the hour I waited. They said they got too busy with customers. I expressed that scheduled appts should take priority. Then another sales rep said that I shouldn't have been scheduled for this time and that I wasn't in the system. I definitely was scheduled over the phone so someone screwed up. If I wasn't in the system, why did you take my glasses from me to have them worked on? The second sales rep who said I wasn't in the system, did agree to stay past closing to quickly cut the lenses. I agreed because I have a small window to get it done. I'm skeptical they will be done well in the short/rushed time frame. That being said, while I waited and typed this review, she issued me a $50 refund. That was a good business move. read more

I was told all about the excellent deals and how they cover almost all insurance companies. I was excited to hear that, since I was a first-time contact lens user. They had $150 off both frames and contacts... great, right?! Nope. Even though I said I was willing to wait for my frames (the discount had to come off the contacts first and I had to wait for my trial lens) they said it would be a really long wait and that I should just order the frames. I do understand that this was my decision but they told me it might take a month or longer for the trial lens. Imagine my shock when the trials came in before the frames... first lie! I paid over $500 for this visit!!!! I was told this included the cost of both the lens and the frames so I was content. Second lie!!! This was for the frames only!! Now I know some of you are going to say I should have read and asked questions as to what I was signing up for. You are right!! However, I still live in a world where I believe in honest salespeople, especially when they are right in front of me. On top of all of this, the service was absolutely horrible. Aside from Sabastian (I think this is his name) doing my fitting, they were rude, very pushy and lied, especially the lady that answers the phone. Appointment was for 11am wasn't seen until 11:30 not a single person apologized about the lateness.The peraon examining my eyes must of been new!? Was clueless on how to use the equipment . I had previously gone to Lens Crafters but due to insurance I was forced to go to a local private eye clinic. After receiving glasses and not being able to see at night due to halos etc, I had another exam done and they stated I had the right prescription. I returned the glasses and went back to Lens Crafters. With my insurance not being accepted at Lens Crafters, I was very grateful for Cameron who was able to find me a discount coupon to take a little bit off the total. I received new glasses with my prescription from my private eye clinic and again could not see at night. I chose a different brand of glasses at the advice of Doa and again could not see. Frustrated that this is how life was going to be, I took all my old glasses, went for a drive and could see out of all of my old ones at night. Back to Lens Crafters I went, discussed this with Doa who stated I may need a new eye exam and that my prescription is probably wrong. I scheduled a new eye exam and spoke with Dr. Marquart about my issues. She did a very thorough exam and took her time to make sure everything was just so. After she was done, she showed me an eye chart line and had me read it. It was much to strong to read. She said to me, "that is what your prescription is set at". Well, Doa was right and I am very grateful to her and Cameron for all their patience and help in trying to solve my vision issue. I reordered my original glasses and can see better then ever at night. Insurance or not, I will always be using Lens Crafters. I was simply looking for a pair of sunglasses. When I was ready to ask questions the worker came off as very hostile saying they couldn't just do stuff for us like customize glasses. I was worried more about asking if they had the pair of glasses in a different color. A simple fix this worker could have done is simply suggest a different pair or apologize for not being aware to provide for what I asked thanks but no thanks. Lost my business. read more

The optometrist was incredible. So kind and talked me through the entire exam. Unfortunately, the other support staff I worked with was the opposite. I arrived 10 minutes late, which I fully take responsibility for getting my appointment time mixed up. When i expressed my apologies, the woman who checked me in was unkind and told me that normally she'd make me reschedule. I felt really bad and apologized more than once. She said we'd just have to "hurry up and get going". I then apologized to the optometrist, and she was totally understanding and forgiving. This was my first time using my own insurance plan and Heather, the consultant that worked with me, was extremely rude. I expressed that this was my first time getting an exam, paying, and using my own insurance and she seemed to have 0 patience for me and walking me through the steps. When I was searching for glasses, I felt rushed as she stood close by and waited giving me little to no time to look with ease. She quoted me for glasses at $500+ dollars when asked to further explain the price she seemed to get frustrated with me. I ended up wanting just contact lenses but when the receipt was printed she sent me on my way. I ended going back in because I didn't understand my charges or why I didn't get lenses. When I returned all she said was "What's up" in a tone that wasn't welcoming. I asked her to please explain and overall, again, seemed irritated and didn't have patience. She then for the first time informed me that the lenses would be shipped to my house I would not recommend this place to anyone new to having their own insurance or purchasing glasses/contacts. This is such a bummer because if the optometrist had a better support staff and consultants I would return, but I will not be returning ever again. read more

Sarah at the lens crafters in the fox river mall is fantastic. She's very friendly, patient, knowledgeable & determined to make sure your satisfied with your eye glasses needs. She's been the one to help me for years now and it's always a good experience. Recently, I had someone else help me a couple times and HE seemed impatient. He cut corners, and when I got my glasses back, they were wrong. It was a frustrating experience. So to fix the situation Sarah stepped back in and it was such a calming positive experience. Seriously go to ANY other eye doctor, or risk having your "virtual" visit and then ending up with an incorrect prescription. And don't pay cash here, they don't refund cash like any other business does. And oh lord if you submit a complaint form they just route it right back to the store you're complaint about. We have been coming here for possibly 25 years. While we have had varying service experiences, since Sarah Van Straten has been the manager, the service has been excellent. I agree that the optometrist's have varying personalities, they are independent from Lens Crafters. They are knowledgeable and friendly, if not a bit eclectic, but that can be fun with the right attitude. The products are varied and support many price points. I would definitely recommend this branch in the Fox River Mall. read more

My sister lost a lens and asked if they could replace it. She was told they could not and she would have to buy two new lenses. She called another optical center and they said they could replace the lost lens . However after finding it was a Lens Crafter lens they couldn't replace it. Apparently Lens Crafters are made differently and are not compatible. Only LensCrafter could replace it and they won't do one lens. Last year I got new frames and lenses from Lens Crafter. I was having difficulty with my glasses and I went back to my ophthalmologist and the lenses they gave me didn't match the Doctors prescription. After some difficulties they agreed to give me new lenses at no cost. However I am still having difficulty and was told the prescription in my lenses is still a little off plus they should have suggested different frames for the type of lenses I have. My sister and I will not be returning to LensCrafters. read more

employee was super rude and kept pressing me buy their glass and contact. Also that person was sharing story about other pt with me. Hippa violation all over. She was talking about a 4 years old pt to me. I will report this to HHS. She also made negative comments when I said I would wait on purchase prescription until seeing retina specialist. She also doesn't even allow me to check my own insurance to make sure the doc they referred is within my insurance network, perhaps she said that's my only option ( is she making commission by sending pt over to this doctor?) I checked with my insurance, there are 13 retina specialist docs within my insurance and in the area. So yes, i am confused why she kept saying that was my only choice.As a pt parent, I felt like it was her way only. She gave medical advise but she is not even a doctor or held any kind of license. I heard at least 3 different pt stories, some related to her, some is not. She even talked crap about my decision with two other employees, one of them was team lead and I am standing right there. She think she is everyone mom and everyone must listen. Also she doesnt wear a name badge but if she sees this comment, she will know i am talking about her. And honestly, turn it down a bit and respect others please!!!!! Yes, I am younger than you and that's why i have to walk away bc i dont want to have to confront you in the middle of the store. At least, that's the last thing i can do to respect the rest of the people in the store at that time. Anyway, If you want your medical history being the next one to share and also feel pressure of buying their stuff, you can keep coming here. Just had to travel here from Green Bay because of poor service there. The ladies here are fast ,polite and knowledgable about their product. Thank you for taking care of this problem . It seems,not everyone that works for Lens Crafters knows what should be done when the "socks" for eyewear has broken. Great job. Will take my business here for ever. read more

The staff isn't very friendly/helpful (at least the one lady that assisted me). They have a wide range of prices on frames and sunglasses but not a wide variety in my opinion. I went to this store to get my options for prescription sunglasses but ended up choosing a different store. read more

I had a decent experience over at Lens Crafters. Everyone was very nice and knowledgeable when it came to me and my situations. The only gripe I had was the prices and the extremely limited styles of frames. Being a large guy, I needed a large frame to fit my face, and since they didn't have a large enough frame it felt like I was forced into choosing a frame to make the deal work. I got my first pair of glasses from LensCrafters years ago, and they were so nice to me. I haven't gotten my glasses there since, simply because they are not in network with my insurance. Today, I went there and asked if they could simply adjust my glasses. I didn't even buy my glasses there, but they were more than happy to help. They helped me once, I got home, and I still didn't think they were straight. I drove back out to the mall, they adjusted them again, and I got back out to my car, only to realize I still didn't think they were straight. I went back again, they adjusted them, and I decided just to walk around the mall to make sure. This time, they were right. Not one time did they make me feel bad for continuing to come back. They were so nice, and seemed honestly interested in me feeling good about my glasses. In or out of network, I will be sure to make them my eyeglass go-to in the future. read more

Will never go to a LensCrafters again. Was not happy with my prescription as it was not working. Went back and got my eyes "rechecked" for all of 5 seconds. They suggested bifocals. I even brought in my old prescription which was working great I just wanted new frames. Was not helped at all. So now I'm stuck with $100+ glasses that I can't even use. We have been getting our vision checks done here for about 6 years. The service is generally friendly and helpful. The Dr's do change from time to time so you are not always seeing the same Dr. I love the fact that they can now take a picture of you with different glasses on and then you can view them on the computer screen.
