The staff is always friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful. My husband has a fairly complex prescription, and they handle it beautifully every time. I usually take advantage of the two-pair deals as affordable backups since I wear contacts most of the time, and the value is excellent. What really stood out to me recently, though, was the compassion and community-mindedness of the team. They recently helped a vulnerable young person that I care deeply about. Although they don't accept Medicaid/BadgerCare, everyone was understanding, kind, and genuinely wanted to help. The manager was especially compassionate, and the opticians went above and beyond to make the experience positive and supportive. To top it off, they were able to complete one pair of glasses in just 8 minutes! You can teach customer service, but you can't teach genuine kindness and heart -- and this team clearly has both. I cannot say enough good things about this place. And the staff and doctors on the vision screening side are top notch too!!

I initially coordinated the shipment to a Neenah bike shop for completion. Due to their lack of interest in putting my bike together, I picked it up and brought it to Niki and Pete at Chain Reaction. They both appreciated my son's work and dug right in checking that all the parts were in the box. There were a few missing so they helped me select the right parts for me and went to work. In about a week, I had a functional 30 year old bicycle which rode, shifted and stopped like a new one. Thanks to their professionality and customer service, I will, again, drive out of my way to deal with Chain Reaction - my "Go To" shop!`

I did not feel rushed, or hurried and the eye exam was thorough. Apparently giving the patient their Pupil Distance (PD) is that is not part of the full diabetic eye exam that my insurance will be billed for. I worked as an Optician for 5 years and this is a little ridiculous. The Space for "PD" is even on the Rx form they give you, just not filled in. It is even part of the automatic Refractometer procedure (Where they auto read your script by having you look at into a machine that makes a farmhouse projection go crisp and blurry). I knew where to look on the readout form and it was plainly there. I chose to purchase my glasses someplace else and they wanted to charge me $15 (after a full eye exam) to do it.

I picked up my new glasses today and I love them. Shout out to Star for providing great service. My friend, who had not purchased her glasses at Valley Vision, was with me and Star asked if she could assist her in any way. Star was eager and willing to adjust my friend's glasses for her. I dropped them off at the specified time and they didn't do anything with them for the hour I waited. They said they got too busy with customers. I expressed that scheduled appts should take priority. Then another sales rep said that I shouldn't have been scheduled for this time and that I wasn't in the system. I definitely was scheduled over the phone so someone screwed up. If I wasn't in the system, why did you take my glasses from me to have them worked on? The second sales rep who said I wasn't in the system, did agree to stay past closing to quickly cut the lenses. I agreed because I have a small window to get it done. I'm skeptical they will be done well in the short/rushed time frame. That being said, while I waited and typed this review, she issued me a $50 refund. That was a good business move.

They had $150 off both frames and contacts... great, right?! Nope. Even though I said I was willing to wait for my frames (the discount had to come off the contacts first and I had to wait for my trial lens) they said it would be a really long wait and that I should just order the frames. I do understand that this was my decision but they told me it might take a month or longer for the trial lens. Imagine my shock when the trials came in before the frames... first lie! I paid over $500 for this visit!!!! I was told this included the cost of both the lens and the frames so I was content. Second lie!!! This was for the frames only!! Now I know some of you are going to say I should have read and asked questions as to what I was signing up for. You are right!! However, I still live in a world where I believe in honest salespeople, especially when they are right in front of me. On top of all of this, the service was absolutely horrible. Aside from Sabastian (I think this is his name) doing my fitting, they were rude, very pushy and lied, especially the lady that answers the phone. With there being SO many more options in the Fox Valley, so yourself and your wallet a favor and go elsewhere! Lens Crafters... DO BETTER!!
