The staff is always friendly, patient, and incredibly helpful. My husband has a fairly complex prescription, and they handle it beautifully every time. I usually take advantage of the two-pair deals as affordable backups since I wear contacts most of the time, and the value is excellent. What really stood out to me recently, though, was the compassion and community-mindedness of the team. They recently helped a vulnerable young person that I care deeply about. Although they don't accept Medicaid/BadgerCare, everyone was understanding, kind, and genuinely wanted to help. The manager was especially compassionate, and the opticians went above and beyond to make the experience positive and supportive. To top it off, they were able to complete one pair of glasses in just 8 minutes! You can teach customer service, but you can't teach genuine kindness and heart -- and this team clearly has both. I cannot say enough good things about this place. And the staff and doctors on the vision screening side are top notch too!!

Disappointing in many ways. 1) during eye exam doctor asked…read moreif I had any issues besides needing my prescription adjusted. I told him my eyes are irritated, dry, itchy, blurry all the time. He never offered any course if treatment and didn't discuss it any further. I wondered why he asked in the first place. 2) small selection of frames and on the expensive side compared to other places. I even saw some frames for over $500. I don't care what celebrity or designers name is on them... that should be illegal. It's a little bit of plastic and or metal and doesn't even include the lenses. There's nothing to justify the ridiculous prices. To some degree this applies to anywhere you get glasses. But other eyewear stores have a whole section of frames at prices shopko doesn't even offer. 3) the glasses I got suck. The bifocal line is right in the middle of the lens and constantly gets in the way of whatever I'm trying to look at. I kind of like the look of the clear frames, but they are noisy if that makes any sense. The plastic makes a lot of noise as you put them on and take them off and adjust. It does gradually get quieter. Things at a little bit of a distance I can see better because I needed a new prescription. But I still have a lot of trouble reading things on my phone or printed instructions, and grocery shopping is a real pain. Overall there were so many things that were a disappointment that I don't plan on returning there for my next pair of glasses.

I did not feel rushed, or hurried and the eye exam was thorough. Apparently giving the patient their Pupil Distance (PD) is that is not part of the full diabetic eye exam that my insurance will be billed for. I worked as an Optician for 5 years and this is a little ridiculous. The Space for "PD" is even on the Rx form they give you, just not filled in. It is even part of the automatic Refractometer procedure (Where they auto read your script by having you look at into a machine that makes a farmhouse projection go crisp and blurry). I knew where to look on the readout form and it was plainly there. I chose to purchase my glasses someplace else and they wanted to charge me $15 (after a full eye exam) to do it.

The staff was very nice, however, and explained that I can exchange them for a pair I like better. I am especially impressed with Deanna and would suggest that anyone ask for her by name. :). She was nice enough to order 2 sets of frames for me in different sizes and colors and is just so sweet. She never made me feel bad and gave me all the time I needed. I picked up my new glasses today and I love them. Shout out to Star for providing great service. My friend, who had not purchased her glasses at Valley Vision, was with me and Star asked if she could assist her in any way. Star was eager and willing to adjust my friend's glasses for her. We both left happy and highly satisfied.

Does not follow the posted hours, doesn't even follow time of arrival on notes such as returning at Noon from lunch (doesn't show up rest of the day). I urge everyone to find somebody who truly cares about their business, customers an honors their word. Maybe the owner needs new glasses so she can see her own posted hours!
