I was craving some sweets after dinner so I went to Leli's ! I've always walked by this place and wanted to try their desserts and it didn't disappoint!!! I love pecan pie and it was the right chewiness and sweetness I was hoping for! Also the cinnamon role was balanced so well that each bite had the perfect amount of cinnamon, icing, and the roll. I know I took a while to decide what to order but they were very helpful and nice to guide me through their big selection of desserts! Very clean inside and it has some seatings.

It's hard to find gluten-free sweets/pastries in Astoria, but this place is a gem! They have both sweet and savory options. I tried a varieties of cookies and pastries. Really enjoyed their gluten-free almond sliced cake and delish leek pie .The friendly guy/staff also mentioned they make gf cakes and can customize, I will def be trying this soon. From my young age of nine years old to fourteen I lived on the island of Malta. My most favorite Maltese food was pastizzi. These could be found anywhere, I had them, on my way to school, on my way home from school, any time the stores were open for business. The pastizzi were super cheap, they were Lm .25 which was equivalent to less than 75 cents each. Of course, this was before many inflations and before the Euro had taken over. Pastizzi were sort of similar to your tastiest, flakiest croissants. They were stuffed with ricotta. Other varieties were also available, but the ricotta were my favorite. The reason I'm sharing all of this is because in Astoria, New York there's a bakery that sells these very pastizzi that I was hoping would take me back those glory days. Leli's Bakery used to be owned by a Maltese baker. It is now owned by an Egyptian man. As I walked inside the little neighborhood bakery, there wasn't that familiar, freshly baked smell. They had a million cookies and pastries behind the glass. But honestly, none of them looked like something I'd enjoy. I asked the lady behind the counter if she had any pastizzi, she said she did but they were frozen. Ok, this is not ideal, but I did drive all this way. I asked for a dozen. She pushed some keys on the register and said "$53.00!" Ummm, excuse me are you ok? $4.25 each! I could afford a million of them at 9 years old. But now, not so much. Instead I got six. This was $27.00. I couldn't have them until the next day because they were frozen solid. The next morning, I popped them on some parchment paper and in the oven for 15 minutes. They were very stuffed with ricotta. The flaky pastry was minimal. These were ok, they were not that crispy golden color I remember. Also, a lot of waiting to bite into one, I'm not going to say too much cheese, but it was not proportionate. Inflation is real, but they could offer a small discount after you purchase so many. I'll just have to travel to Malta to have the real pastizzi.

so it's a small bakery with many options!! I ordered the tres leches for my birthday because it's my favorite after red velvet. This tres leches is made slightly different with a sugary layer on top almost like a creme brûlée. It was different but it was good, very sweet so be aware. The cake itself was soft and moist I was able to enjoy it without the sugar layer on top. I would have liked a whipped cream on top instead maybe. Service was good, no complaints there.

Pastries look good, but expensive for me at $4.50 a croissant. They have a lot of variety and cute indoor seating space. Service was nice and location right on 30th Ave, but croissant was a little dense for my taste.

These new owners are an asset to this Astoria neighborhood. . Perfect charm and quality treats for an afternoon soirée or birthday party. Stopped by here since I was in the neighborhood and it definitely did not have the amount of things I had seen posted in previous reviews. Apparently they are under new ownership. The girl at the counter was very nice, pleasant, and delivered my stuff to the table. However, she only had limited knowledge about some of the pastries. She informed me that it had "cheese" inside but did not explain much more past that. With that said, all the items I did try (cappuccino, biscotti, apple turnover, and a chocolate pastry) were all very tasty. I would definitely visit again, but it was not enough to make me a regular.

Hello old school. Hello passionate owner. Hello hospitality. The house made products screamed fresh and flavorful. The variety was insane. Cookies, cakes, baklava and gelato and many other items in between. It's a destination, for sure. And after spending some time with a hot tea and conversation with the owner we walked out not only satisfied but filled with joy and appreciation for this independent small business. Reminded how important it is to support businesses like this one. Thanks for a great memory!!

Enjoyed the items tried here, although just a couple. The mini filled croissants were perfectly done. The pastizzi were ok, they are only sold frozen so can't hold the end result against them--I may have over baked it. Definitely worth trying. Service was ok.

Was in the neighborhood, so found this bakery doing a Yelp search for 7-layer cake. Was a little disappointed that they did not sell cakes by the slice, but decided to treat myself after doing without a 7 layer for years. A smaller version of the cake was $28, with a larger option available. I asked to use the restroom, and was told it was "in use". Then shortly thereafter I saw someone enter it, although a conspicuous "out of order" sign was posted on the door. Now, I have lived in New York my entire life, and spent a lot of time living in Queens. I never experienced anything like that. I got the cake home, and as you can see, it is a sight to behold, with a lot of attention to detail. There was a smidgen of whipped cream beneath the cake, on the shiny gold colored cardboard platter to prevent the cake from sticking to it. What was unique about it were the buttercream florets on top and the thinly sliced almonds adorning the side of the round cake. To me, the way it tastes is most important. As I said, I grew up in New York, so I have expectations of how I like my cake. In most bakeries I have seen, 7 layer cakes are traditionally rectangular, like a loaf, and typically unadorned with a simple semigloss chocolate coating. This version had layers that made the overall height tallish and a lighter cake. I am used to a thinner and denser cake. The top and bottom layers had an unexpected berry ( I believe raspberry ) jam thinly spread in addition to the internal frosting layers. Well, call me old fashioned, but I know what I like, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

My girlfriend got an assortment of desserts to try, and they were mostly mediocre or straight up not good. Chocolate mousse cake: the best of the bunch that I might actually get again. There was an espresso or alcohol taste to it that made it interesting. Carrot cake itself was good, but the frosting was not cream cheese based. It was overly sweet, almost like marshmallows, and it did not go well with the cake. Pecan pie: I've had the pecan wedges here which were great but this was disappointing. There was barely any filling in this so it just felt like pecans and crust. Fruit tart: I thought there wasn't a fruit tart I didn't like but the custard and crust were relatively flavorless.

This place is amazing! Such friendly vibes and treated so incredibly well. The Gelato is amazing!! We sat at a table and were brought water?! In this economy unless you're dining in you will not get water. Such generous hearts and a great atmosphere.

Truly a great experience having desserts here and a place to sit! The baker/owner is super nice and there's so many options to choose from! I really enjoy the rainbow cookies and cafe au lait and my friends got the almond cake and said the condensed milk a lot. We also got the tiramisu and it's different from other types but the way make it more firm and not wet really works for the texture! Their cinnamon roll looks really good and we will have to come back to try them all next time. They are also open later than most bakeries in the area so it was nice to have seating, sweet desserts and be able to catch up with friends. All treats are homemade and baked that day!

This is a great Bakery...however there Saturday evening staff is great...I was there last night and the Bakery Staff informed me they served Brunch on Sunday Daytime... I went to Leli's today for brunch when I asked for a menu and I would like to have brunch the owner who was there today Mohamed. Mohamed said to me we do not serve brunch I asked for a menu and we do not have a menu I explained to him I was here last night and the woman told me Brunch is served her on Sunday and how is there no Menu? He Looked at me confused! Then I ordered a Vegtablae Cheese Omelette (light on the cheese) when the Omelette was served to me by the nice woman that worked on Sunday (day-shift today the Vegtabales, (brocill was black on the end and the onion was burnt) the vegatables looked like they were left from two (2) days ago they were old The Omelette was not neatly folded over.and they did not even try to make the omelette look neat..they must have a short order cook...and when I received the order I said to Mohamed-young guy (Owner?) Would you eat this ...first he looked at me an thought about it and waited 3 minutes and then he said Yes I would eat this...along with my order I paid for an extra coffee and paid for a seven-grain roll...the total of my order was $11.00 I told him I wanted my money back and he gave me my money back and charged me for the coffee and the roll .did not give me my entire total back on my charge card.....along with this Leil's have a TIP Box on their counter Who Tips Better Men or Women - a very sexist and JUDGE MENTAL I hope the Food Department is reading. I did leave a tip. However their TIP BOX should be BANNED and the Food Department should go an see how they make Vegtabale omelette! If they would have not charged me for the extra coffee and roll I would not put this on YELP...but they are not NICE PEOPLE they are RUDE and have a TIP BOX that should be BANNED! read more

I dropped into Leli's to get a biscotti after my favorite place had closed for the night. I ended getting 2 tiny macarons and one piece of almond biscotti. The lady charged me for the plastic container (she didn't tare it out). The price came out to be 2.42, which is a little high for macarons that taste like pure sugar - unlike real macarons which are light and chewy and have an almond flavor. I wouldn't recommend their macarons to anyone, and I've tried macarons all over the city. I didn't try the biscotti yet, because when I got home, I decided to weigh the container to see why the price was so high. Turns out I was overcharged - she charged me for the price of the container without zeroing out the scale. In addition, charged me the same price for the biscotti, which is $12 a pound other places, as the macarons, which are $18 a pound here. Not a good deal if you ask me. So, overall, the bakery items look pretty - but to be overcharged for a sugary macaron, and then pay way too much for a piece of biscotti, is not a good bakery visit. Skip this place and if you want real biscotti, head to the Italian place on 45th and 30th Ave in Astoria. If you want real macarons - don't waste your money here. You'll only be disappointed. Save your money and go to Laduree. read more

Being of Maltese descent, it really pains me to say this, but this place has the worst vibe. I have tried this place on several occasions for their pastizzi of course but after several attempts to be treated with respect by the employees that work the counter I will never return. Most recently I have had the worst possible experience which is not a first at this place. The employees always seem frazzled that there are customers there trying to order. Look if you can't handle people for minimum wage, then don't work there. Don't come to work with a sourpuss face because you have customers in the store. You should be happy. Everyone always looks at you with a glare like they don't want to help you and god forbid you ask them a question. The most recent incident happened in regards to their line situation which they still have no order after being open for over a year now. I stood in the area where the line usually forms everytime I have been there before. But then after 10 mins of not being helped, I notice customers are being taken from the other side of the counter. I addressed an employee by the name of Nore. Brace yourself for her unprofessional response, which was, well the line is over there! I say yes but I have been standing here for 10 mins and you saw me and she further worsens the situation by saying that she just calls next and whoever comes to her she helps. Well excuse me for not being an animal and trying to jump over people. And btw I just told her I was next and she refused to help me so she just contradicted what she just said. Until finally after basically pleading with her to get helped, with a horrible attitude she asks me what I want which to that I said nothing, I lost my appetite. I asked to speak to the manager on duty, to which another Maltese customer on line of course felt the need to voice his idiotic and irrational opinion on me because he wanted to show off and started harassing me as to why I was making a big deal if I was standing in the wrong area. I further continued to tell him, excuse me mind your own business and the line has always been in this area everytime I come here and I am not going to the back of the line after I was standing there for 10min. But of course his maltese disgusting self felt the need to stick his big nose in. And get this while I was speaking to the manager the line formed exactly where I was standing originally, so that proves my point! Let's not forget all the maltese customers feeling the need to snoop in and glare to see what was going on. What filth! I will never return to this place and I am embarrassed by the animalistic like behavior that maltese people bring to that place. All it is, is a place for maltese people to gather and have their negative gossip about people. Nothing but bad vibes from the employees and the clientele. read more

I ordered a cake from this bakery with high expectations. It was for my fathers 50th birthday a big event. First of all as you can see from the pictures the cake is lop sided it's not straight. There was a 50 on top but by the time I got to the restaurant it melted off and the paint was coming coming off of it. And it was so so so small. Another thing is the edges were very round when I asked for them straight. Another thing was that the fondant as you can see was in lack of other words blotchy. He told me that he could do black and gold fondant. There was more fondant then cake in some places and over all way to much fondant. Clearly as you can see it was some sort of paint and by the time I got to the restaurant which was only a 10min drive in air conditioning it melted off and looked worse. Also the Mercedes logo was upside down! The paint on it was melting off to and that's the way it looked also on the 50. So minus the fact that the cake looked horrible and as if it was rushed and made with the left overs of the night before the cake itself was horrible. It was dry and so so so sweet! No balance of flavor. The chocolate "ganache" was more like chocolate frosting! The strawberrys in the strawberry shortcake were hard as a rock. The cake was dry dry dry. He was raving about how customers love his vanilla sponge and chocolate ganache and I really don't understand why! It was disgusting! I would not be this angry if the at least it tasted better then it looked and it tastes just as bad!The cake did not taste or look like a $300 cake! I am highly highly disappointed not one worker offered to fix anything I was on a time crunch and need the cake then I had not time to get another one. I do not recommend this place at all if I could give a lower rating I would! read more

I ordered a cake for my graduation party at Leli's Bakery, and it was the best choice I had made for that very special day! The cake was beyond my expectations, it was very delicious, wonderfully decorated, and big enough to treat all my guests, and I even brought back half the cake with me at home. The cake was vanilla flavor filled with chocolate ganache layers and strawberries, topped with delicious butter cream. I even got a beautiful customization with the graduation theme all in chocolate! The owner was very kind, he took the time to sit with me and took note of all my requests, he even gave me handful suggestions about the cake's size and the flavors. The cake was ready on time and they even texted me to let me know that the cake was ready for pick up. I highly recommend Leli's Bakery for their quality and service. Since then, we became regular customers, we go back very often especially to buy their delicious Almond croissant and spinach quiche. read more

Walked in for a cappuccino. Utter horrid service. The counter people can't be bothered. I stood on line for a good 10 minutes with out so much as a "can I help you." Walked out. The other negative reviews are spot-on. Very unfriendly counter staff. Astoria has way too many great options to put up with horrible service. read more

I stopped by this bakery for the second time since it opened by the new owners and I bought a cinnamon roll cigar and a almond roll with custard. I ate the almond roll with the custard the same day (it was good) and the next day I brought the cinnamon roll with me to work so I can have it during lunch. As I was about to take the last bite, I discovered a thick hair sticking out and I got disgusted. It didn't look human hair, I'm not sure, but it may be cat hair. I can't believe this has happened to me. I'm sick to my stomach. This is unacceptable. I don't know if they're careless or if it was just an accident, but really, thick hair? Thank God I saw it, otherwise, I would had eaten it. That's gross! I don't think I'm going to buy anything from there anymore. read more

Visited bakery for the first time. I ordered pastizzi which my whole family craves, but since my mother passed away we haven't tasted them again. I placed an order on Tuesday of last week with a pick up date of Saturday. when I arrived there the lady behind the counter who was very friendly knew nothing about the order, but she was able to full fill it. she even gave me a couple to try with a cup of coffee. Only two negative points, the ricotta pastizzi were too spicy for my taste. Too much pepper. The price was very high. Will I go back there again, only time will tell. It was a long trip from Central NJ to Astoria. read more

I went to Leli's 2 Saturdays ago & bought a marscapone cake. I gotta say it was horrible coupled with the fact they had the gaul to charge THIRTY TWO DOLLARS for it. Lovely atmosphere - friendly, old world. Free cookie with drinks! Lovely jasmine tea (though counter staff claimed it was caffeine free), sugary dessert-like chai latte, wifi, and again, a mellow, warming vibe. Am going back to try out the fresh, homemade soups and fish dishes which I hear they serve and are great. read more

So far I have tried the Cocunut cake, the Red Velvet, the Carrot and the Chocolate Ganache. All on separate visits, to go, for separate occasions. All 4 times we could not believe how freakin delicious the cakes were. The chocolate Ganache could be served in a high end restaurant. It is unbelievable. read more

My wife and I ordered the cake for our wedding from Leli's, and were so impressed. Every place we went before Leli's said "No, we can't do a lemon sponge cake," "No, we can't do a single tiered cake for 100+ people," "No, we can't do raspberry jelly filling," and then "It'll cost $1000+ to not do what you want"!!! Kareem, the manager at Leli's, told us he could do exactly what we wanted, and it would only cost $550!!! Kareem gave us his cell phone number so we could text him a photo of what we wanted the cake to look like, he gave us a catalog to order gum-paste flowers out of (and he only charged us $50 for $150 worth of flowers), and gave us a break on cost since we used only buttercream icing. Kareem himself delivered the cake to the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden where our reception was held. The cake was (is, really, we have so much leftover!) DELICIOUS. Everything about it was perfect. I was a little off-put by no getting an receipt/paperwork for anything, but Kareem was in regular contact and treated us so well. Every time I'd visit the shop to talk about the order he'd offer me free drinks or treats. My wife and I will be giving them all our bakery business from this day forever. So tremendously impressed. read more

This is the only bakery in Astoria I'll go to. I have tried about 10 things from here and not one item hasn't been stellar. Everything is always fresh, the cookies are soft (they actually have sugar cookies which are hard to find) and the rest of the pastries are always moist and flavorful. The sales help is knowledgable and friendly as well. I honestly find that the other bakeries in Astoria lack taste and arnt always fresh and this shop never disappoints. read more

We came in here per the recommendation of a good friend and had seemingly passed by it for years unnoticed. Well, that sure changed. This place is insane! First, try the maltese pastizzi which comes meat filled, cheese or cheese and spinach filled. Amazing. The dough it incredibly well done, the only of it's kind that I have seen in the US. A pastizzi would be a perfect pairing with a soup for lunch or plain as I have it on Sunday mornings. Then, get french baguette for dinner. Crispy on the outside and doughy in the middle, you feel like your in Paris. Every single baked good (as testified by my husband) is better than the next and all baking is done at the store unlike some of the other Astoria bake shops which are imposters. The only rival to this place is Gian Piero further up on 30th toward Woodside, however, the two really don't compare. What one has the other doesn't and vice versa making them perfect balances against each other. To top it all off, the ladies who work at Leli's are the nicest people possible always greeting us with a smile even at 730 AM Saturday and Sunday. This is my new favorite spot and sorry it took me some 6 years living in Astoria to get here. I can't get enough. read more

Really impressed. I am new to Astoria so still learning my way around. I walked into Leli's this morning as I needed pastries for a work event - 50 people. I was a little nervous as I wasn't sure they would have that quantity as a last minute request. The person behind the counter was extremely gracious and accommodating. The pastries were a hit. My personal favorite was the savory cheesy fillo dough treat I had while I waited. I don't know what it was called, but I will be coming back for more of them! read more

I come around to Leli's whenever I'm in the neighborhood and my sweet tooth picks up. Its a pretty cozy atmosphere and though I can't say their music picks are any better than Starbucks, their baked goods speak for themselves. Their cupcakes (I highly recommend the Blackout) are rich and delicious. Throw in the robust flavors of their cappuccinos and I'm in heaven. I'm not sure where the reviews on bad service come from, I've never had a problem with any of the counter folks. And though some seem standoffish I wouldn't call them out right rude. I've yet to try their food but I've gone through most of their sweets section and I can honestly say Leli's is by far, one of the best bakeries I've ever been to. read more

This is really my favorite bakery in the 30th Ave area. Their cookies are much fresher and tastier than most of the bakeries in Astoria that are known for their 'Italian' cookies, the kind you buy by the pound that pretty much all taste the same. Excellent breads, baguettes, and rolls, cheesecake, fruit tarts, and other baked goods. If you're look for a fresh challah in the neighborhood, Leli's is just sweet enough and very fresh. Not a coffee drinker so I can't vouch for theirs, and the women working behind the counter can be hit or miss - not extremely rude in any way, but socially a little awkward/uninterested, although the pastries are so good that I really don't care and have gotten used to it. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! Where do I start!? This place provides a beautiful spread that not only looks to die for, but every single thing in this bakery is fresh and delicious!!! I absolutely love the colorful decor and the cozy feeling this bakery offers! Everything is served in nice big cups and colorful plates. Great place to stop by with a friend, chat, and indulge in a piece of heaven!! I had also ordered two dozen cupcakes from them for my Christmas party. I really liked that they had a nice assortment available from strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and even carrot! They also came in different sizes! We ordered the assorted medium cupcakes. Went to order a cake for a Birthday. The young lady helping me was adorable. She brought me a couple of cookies and offered coffee while we sat down to discuss what I was looking for. We shall see how the cake comes out, but I will make a few observations here. They are trying. They have too big a variety of goods for the space, which makes it hard to manage. Quality is good. The Pastizzi, and Bread are impressively good. The cookies, especially butter based are some of the best I have ever had. The array of nuts, berries and flavorings are impressive. My cappuccino was made well, but it was made by the manager, who seemed to know what he was doing. They need some better systems for ordering and need to take the time to train their staff better. They are curious kind young people... take them under your wing a little and they will flourish. I worked in a bakery for years.. so I kinda know what I am speaking about. The almond croissant I had there once was huge and chock full of almond filling.. great pastry. Lots of promise here, worth supporting. read more

The cakes in the window are old and like a brick. The employees are not very nice and are pretty dishonest. I bought about 8 items and noticed 9 on my receipt. I told the worker and he got annoyed and returned the money. I left my gloves there and when I called about a half hour later, he said I did not leave them there. When I went to put a fork in the cake, that was not possible. It was rock hard. Also for those who are not fans of raisins, about 85% of the goods in this place have raisins including the cheese danishes. I miss Terrizzi and this place could learn a lot from Terrizzi. First, be nice to your customers. Save yourself the grief and go somewhere else. This place and the employees need help. read more

Purchased some big sandwich cookies here for $3.50 each, (chocolate chocolate chip, chocolate chip with vanilla filling and peanut butter cookie with jelly filling). They were all terrible and stale. The person at the counter said they were not soft like whoopee pies but crunchy. I said that was fine. I like soft and chewy as well as crispy and crunchy, but I do want baked goods to be fresh and flavorful with good ingredients. These were old! No real flavor of butter or chocolate or peanut butter, just sweet. Too sweet. And stale. read more

I bought a box of pignoli that was very expensive, and it was the worst pignoli I have ever eaten. In fact, there were two kinds, clearly from two different batches. One was hard and cake and stale with few pine nuts, one was covered the nuts but weirdly greasy and honestly inedible. I have no idea how their other products are, but they should not sell old cookies, obviously, and they should probably just stop making pignoli altogether. Leli's, throw out old cookies and make fresh batches. Thanks. read more

I "stumbled" upon Leli's today while waiting for my mom in the bank. I went in to get a bite to eat and had the quiche lorraine...it changed my life. It was delicious as well as the pastries that I bought. I will definitely be back with my family and will make the trek from Brooklyn often. Just a note about the bakery to correct a previous review. There is a bakery on-premises and they bake everything there. The baked goods are not "homemade." The items for sale are not made in someone's home and then brought there for sale. They baked goods there are made in their bakery, not a "homery." read more

Just to let you all know out there that Leli's Bakery is the best in town. At the last moment my boss wanted cupcakes for his son's birthday. So I search on the internet for some bakery in LIC/Astoria and I read a lot of other Bakery review and finally I decided to call Leli's. Well let me tell you, I made the right decision. a nice simple bakery with a country look and feel with decent coffee, cakes, cookies, pies, croissants and a nice assorted of fresh breads and other treats to bust your gut buttons. the place is set on nicely with a few tables by front window and tables and chairs again the wall. the front counter has a few glass dusplays with the pastries, cake and pies available. you can gaze at the bread options behind the counter on the shelves and a goid selection i might add. the staff are ok but at times verbal skills are not the greatest but they do warm up to the customers quickly.i usually grab a table near the end of the shop and glide to the center counter and place my order of decaff cappy and a giant cinnamon frosted bun roll. you can not just sit at the nice marble table and not have the urge to look at every treat on display, damn the cupcakes has its own section as well as the cookies, pies, cakes and if you look to the far left you can see the baker making bread and other treats and sliding it right into the oven. the prices are very fair and its hard not to take some goodies for the road. for lunch time you can get some chicken pot pies, sausage roll or some bread cheesy roll. they make a mean decaff cappy really rich and sweet and the cinnamon roll had so much creamy frosting it was finger licking gooey. the place is bright and clean with a relax and enjoy type of vibe. i just had to take a few out of the oven baguettes and a dozen of mixed mini cookies ( black and white my fave) and a lemon menrigue pie for the family ,plus the reeses peanut butter cupcake was my before dinner snack (yummy). a nice bakery in the astoria area that has an amazing fresh variety of sweets with decent hot and cold beverages as the added bonus. read more

I was eager to visit this bakery after seeing it in Boro Magazine and reading the good reviews on Yelp. First, I was completely put off by the front counter service. There were 3 women behind the counter and only one really working. One of them had the nerve to count money in the tip jar while there were at least 2 people on line. None of the women smiled even though I made eye contact several times and smiled at them. Talk about a cold reception. I really should have walked out at that point. Finally when I was helped, the woman gave me an attitude because I had to correct the pastries that she had selected. She was just totally not amused and seemed annoyed the entire time. Even after I paid, she never made eye contact or thanked me. The pastries were just OK and I noticed at least 3-4 other bakeries along 30th Avenue that I would much rather try next time. By far, this might actually be the best tasting Vietnamese coffee I have had in all my years. And, I'm usually not a coffee person either. Didn't taste watered down and/or heavily sweetened at all. Everything's just right. Definitely would be going back next time for other coffee/fruit tea drinks.

Prices were cheap in my opinion. Overall, I'd rate it 6/10 and I would go back to see how brunch or other things they offer maybe earlier in the day! And my experience was good the bar tender that attended me was awesome every helpful especially explained the details to an A. I'm so grateful he was explained the difference between the na beers for me from the IPA one to the white pilsner one. I'm so grateful for the bartender I don't know his name but a big thank you to him for helping me out and explaining everything. The ambiance in the local Is awesome by the way great place to chill out hangout with friends family have couple of drinks. If you are traveling to New York I highly recommend staying at the local It's such a chill spot and very comfortable.

What a DISGUSTING experience I had here. I walked into this bakery to buy some Easter bread and desserts for the next day, and as I picked up a bag of Easter bread, I heard some commotion from the counter. The staff member (old, fat, dark hair, with a heavy Greek accent) was screaming at someone like a psyco so I turned to see what was going on, only to find out he was yelling at ME!! Apparently, he was really furious that I had touched the Easter bread (which was wrapped in cellophane and on a table right at the entrance of the place- clearly it was the to be purchased). I also made zero mess while picking out the bread I was about to buy for my family so you can imagine my shock and confusion. Everyone in the store kept staring at me because he just kept berating me and I was stunned so I couldn't even say anything- I was just trying to process the verbal abuse I was receiving for no good reason but he just wouldn't stop. It was unbelievable and beyond upsetting. He just kept verbally attacking me and then started to make fun of the fact that I had on a mask??? Meanwhile his own mask was down by his chin and he kept yelling over his customer's food?? Finally I had to leave because he wouldn't stop fighting with me (even thought I was silent the entire time because I was in total shock at what was happening ) and I was on the verge of crying. I still can't understand what happened but whatever it was, no one should ever be treated that way (especially when they haven't done anything wrong!!! So I put the bread back and then he started up all over again. More yelling and saying things like 'Dont buy anything here. Go. I don't care'. At this point, I realized there must be something very wrong with this person. In my opinion he is mentally ill so I did the same thing I do when a mentally ill homeless person on the train starts to act up- I walked away. The silver lining is that one other customer who saw the whole thing, walked out with me and he took me to another Greek bakery around the corner where I found everything I needed AND I was treated like a valuable customer- imagine that. read more

I feel really sorry for this one star review because this coffee shop had been my favorite spot since day 1 and this place has amazing pastries. I cannot describe how tasty those little cupcakes and breads, and not pricey as well. BUT THOSE GIRLS BEHIND THE REGISTER OHHHH MYYY GODDD!!! Those 2 girls are the meanest people on the earth! They are very rude always, and providing terrible service. Today, I ordered two jasmin teas. When I was getting my tea from the counter, I realized that she(the shortest girl behind the counter, with long hair) didn't put a little cookie with my tea and asked her nicely "oh don't you give those little cookies with tea anymore?" She replied with a rude expression"Sometimes!!!" then my friend had a sandwich. This time, the other cashier girl , the one who has curly hair, wrapped the sandwich without asking my friend if it was to stay or to go. My friend told her that she was gonna eat there and wanted the sandwich toasted little bit. That cashier girl and the other cashier girl looked at each other and started talking about us. When we sat down finally, they harassed us by constantly staring at us and talking about us while staring. After 20 mins, I went up to the counter to buy more pastry. They pretended as if I wasn't waiting in front of the register to be served. My word to the owner: those cashier girls with ghetto attitudes need to be fired immediately!! Came upon this bakery for almost a year now and enjoyed everything; from the rich hot chocolates to the tasty assortment and variety of cookies. Even the pastizzi and danishes were top notch. I walk into this bakery nearly every week, and every time I'm greeted with a great positive atmosphere. I recently ordered a wedding cake, that my husband and I wanted custom made. The order was just as we had visioned our cake to be. The details were precise and it was clear that this was professionally done. On top of all that, the cake was delicious! So not only were the guests in awe with the beauty of the cake, but everyone enjoyed the taste as well. We also ordered some trays of cookies from here for the celebration, which tasted just as good as they looked! The jelly-filled ones had a wonderful texture to them, and they'd just melt in your mouth. While the almond ones, filled with almond-paste, left guests asking for more. The manager greeted us very politely, and provided us with wonderful service from beginning to end. I've had a great experience ordering from here, and I would highly recommend this place for pastries, coffee, cookies, cakes, danishes, and more! read more

Everything I have ever had from this bakery has always been amazing...so for Easter we got an almond paste cake...WOW! It was unbelievable! Everyone was raving about how delicious it was and asking where we got it! Not only did it look beautIful but the taste was out of this world! I would recommend everything from this bakery, especially the chocolate croissants and the chocolate chip cookies too! Seriously the chocolate chip cookies could be the best cookies EVER! If you are looking for something delicious and impressive definitely go to Leli's! They will take good care of you and you will not be disappointed! read more

I always respect the establishments whose owners care beyond caring - both about their products and for their customers. I can easily tell that Karim (sp?), the owner, puts his heart and soul into each and every bakery item, beverage, and entree. The almond croissant is perhaps the best I have tasted in Astoria. His cheesecakes superb, and come Xmas time, his gingerbread man cookies are unmatched. I would give Leli's 100 stars if I was able. read more

The employees are unfriendly and very mean as well as snobby. The place is very dirty and unsanitary. I asked an employee about how dirty it is and she told me that they have rat problems. DISGUSTING! SERIOUS! The pastries all taste the same because they are STALE. HAVE NO TASTE. NO TEXTURE. NO SMELL. NO ANYTHING. Did I mention that it is OVERPRICED too. I was in love with this place when it first opened and Astoria needed a decent bakery/coffee shop. Somehow though I stopped going back until recently and was the reminded that the reason for it was that the general quality of everything from product to service has deteriorated. On this last trip, I ordered a fruit tart which was clearly not fresh and the fruit had fermented and killed the pastry. read more

I really like this place. I was so tired of Starbucks. I never tried coffee here but I tried tea which is great. I also enjoyed those little cookies topped with apricot or rasberry jam. They are really fresh. This place is great for study. Nobody disturbs you or expect you to buy a drink every half an hour. A cup of tea is about $2 with unlimited hot water refill option. When they opened they were this amazing cute reasonable price bakery . Now everything is triple the price not even made that day and customer service .. Gone . Three stars because whatever is made that day is actually good . Unfortunately you won't know til you bite into that cupcake whether its stale or not . Also the prices are basically insane now . The bakery is always dirty and unsanitary. When I asked one of the employees who doesn't know anything, she told me about how they have had rat problems and I was disgusted! Seriously!
