Service was fast, amazing and the sweets were delicious! I had a variety of cupcakes, some cake slices and croissants. I'm more than happy with this establishment. I've used them for regular purchases and for Too Good to go. Each time they're equally fresh and tasty treats. Almond croissant was so good and the red velvet cake was as well. There was a PB&J cupcake that was so unique and delicious. I love it here and will continue to come back.

I asked when they made the berry napoleon, and they said the morning, so I got a slice. It was so crispy and good! I put in the fridge for a couple of hours after taking a few bites and noticed the crispiness got dampened even during that short time so I'd recommend eating as soon as you purchase. I also got the chocolate layer cake - it doesn't have a deep chocolate taste but not bad. I got a cheesecake slice too, and it's decent if you like lighter cheesecake but I prefer richer slices. Each was about $8 a slice.

First off, I guess welcome to Broadway! I came into this place last week a little hopeful that I would have a new dessert place but Boy was I wrong. I literally walked in and felt like I was in the twilight zone, the front display facing the street should have warned me. This place is a dead ringer for a Martha's Bakery 2. I mean everything about it screamed Martha's bakery. The setup, the desserts, the menu, the writing of the menu ... it made me sad! Hopefully since they're still new they can bring their own take on what a bakery should be like and revamp. I bought the flan for $9 to try them out. It was poorly packaged, the covering was plastic wrap and the caramel sauce cake out and made everything in the bag so sticky. It did have a good flavor though but for $9 the slice should have been bigger. I may or may not come back to this place. I guess we will see in the next couple of months since my eyebrow lady is around the corner.

Carrot cake good, but the frosting wasn't good!

I came here with my sister and husband for some dessert and coffee after dinner. I wish I didn't! We had the banana pudding which tasting nothing like pudding! It was TERRIBLE! The next worst dessert was the banana bread pudding. The bananas were only on top and not through it. The texture was more like a flan without the caramel flavor. The chocolate cake was mediocre not bad, but not great either. The carrot cake was the best out of all 4 of the desserts. The carrot cake itself was very good and it had delicious raisins in the cake. The frosting on top wasn't good, and tasted like a bland cream frosting. It had no cream cheese flavor at all. The coffee was even terrible at this place! I can't see this bakery lasting long in Astoria with all the good dessert shops!

    Berry Napoleon - amazing!

Walked in on a cold day and enjoyed a hot coffee and an amazing slice of Berry Napoleon. Sherlyn's is a family business and I felt right at home from the first bite! I could eat berry napoleon every time but I heard the tres leches options are also very popular and I'll have to try that next time.

3.5 stars. This review is solely for their gelato. I've started noticing that there seems to be a lot of bakeries along Broadway between 29th and 35th Streets (Jhoanes, Omonia, Parisi, French Workshop just to name a few). And a new one just opened last weekend, Sherlyn's. Rumor has it that the owner was former head pastry chef of Martha's. I went on opening day and it was packed but the staff managed the lines well. The space isn't large but there is a small dinning area. The pastries all looked good but there was a lot to choose from. Prices are on the higher end, but that seems to be par for the course in NYC these days. Given the intense heat wave, I went straight for their gelato. They had about six flavors available, and I opted for Pistachio and Hazelnut ($7 for two scoops). The gelato was fine and hit the spot on that scorching day. It didn't have the intense nutty flavor that I was looking for but otherwise a solid satisfying choice. I'm looking forward to going back on a less hectic day to explore their full pastry lineup!

Sherlyn's Bakery never disappoints! We ordered an assortment of mini cupcakes for my girlfriend's birthday - everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was excellent; Sherlyn had everything ready on time and even included a few extra minis, which was such a sweet touch. Everyone at the party raved about them! This was my third time ordering from Sherlyn's (the first two were for family events), and each time has been consistently amazing. It's so rare to find a local bakery with great products, friendly service, and true pride in what they do. Couldn't recommend Sherlyn's more - a neighborhood favorite!

The 7 layer cake is a beautiful work of art and the taste marches. Its a vanilla cake with chocolate frosting topped with strawberry and chocolate mouse. Note to the wise, don't make the same mistake I did. Always look at your cake once it is placed in the box. The display cake looked good, then I did not get to inspect the cake before it was placed in the box. Once I arrived home, I saw that the top part of the cake had a dent in the mouse and strawberry covering which made it look messy. It was an embarrassment to present it as such so I improvised by using the mother's day signage to cover up the blip. When I called to speak with the location about it they dealt with it very professionally and were apologetic about the situation and offered a comp. It was such a relief to have customer service go right after experiencing that.

We had low expectations, realizing it was in the middle of Times Square, assuming it would be a tourist trap like most places in Times Square. We were pleasantly surprised! It had really good crispness and delicious filling, which was vanilla forward (used to normal custard). Didn't try anything else except the lobster tail. They have other flavors as well -- we will try the Nutella flavored lobster tail next! AMBIANCE: Super small place (expected) so it's take away only. Would come back if I'm in the area again, although I tend to avoid due to crowds.

It's a simple classic cookie that's crispy on the edges and chewy in the center without being undercooked or gooey. This is not for the people who usually prefer the mound styled cookies that levain has, but as a fellow levain fan, I personally loved this cookie a lot. I especially feel that a lot of cookies have too much chocolate in them, but I'm obsessed with the dough part of chocolate chip cookies. This cookie was a really good balance and it was delicious until the last bite. Gonna be an obsession for a while for sure. Other things to know the staff were pretty friendly and greeting when I walked in. It's a small place. No particular seating area available. Great to walk in grab what you want and leave. I did also try their tomato focaccia which was delicious. The Dubai croissant however, was not it. The filling was dry and the croissant had also dried out, so it was just a flaky chalky mess. But definitely go for the cookies and breads.

It had a delicious nutty flavor which was more pronounced than the typical browned butter nuttiness. The combination of the bitter Valhrona dark chocolate and sweeter milk chocolate chips balanced out the cookie very well. The rainbow cookies were not great - they were just wannabe rainbow cookies. You can't just call a cookie a rainbow cookie because it looks like one. Some things should remain traditional, this is one of them. Traditional rainbow cookies are made with almond paste, jam, and chocolate. There is no almond paste in this cookie which completely threw off the texture. There is a layer of marzipan in these cookies which in my opinion destroyed the balance of the cookie - far too sweet and oddly textured. The cake layer is just regular cake with food coloring instead of the soft/ moist almond frangipane-like cake. The cookies were beautiful, but were very disappointing. Service was quick and friendly.

Huge fan of their presence and think they definitely have a lasting place in the neighborhood. We were going in to the MET for a tour and only had time for something quick. Angelina was the perfect stop except I've been spoiled with the other two locations I've tried that are much larger, appealing and has more variety. This was a pretty hole in the wall location (in comparison to the others) and I wasn't super obsessed with the quality of the doing (again, in comparison to what I already know of Angelina). I'm not sure if they bake everything in house but it does feel more like they get smaller batches of things maybe frozen and then stick them in the oven and fill them. It doesn't taste the freshest, the croissant dough isn't as pillowy, crispy on the outside and full of layers and flakes that I'm regularly used to. I'm always happy eating anything with nutella so that was still a win, wish it was more in line with the regular Angelina experience. Also, they don't have the same amount of things and as extensive of a menu, so just know before you go :) No bathrooms either it seems like!

This was the best according to our group. Strawberry filled- this is most traditional and Breads Bakery does a nice job. The jam is homemade. Pistachio- this doughnut was filled with smooth pistachio cream and was topped with a few pieces of pistachio. Not traditional, but they did a good job. Chocolate- the filling tasted like a semisweet or bittersweet cream/custard. Like the others, it was smooth. The vanilla was more popular among our group and I personally didn't love this doughnut. Mango- this was the one that those in my group felt missed the mark. It wasn't cloyingly sweet, so that was good, but the filling didn't do anything for us either.
