Highest recommendation for Chris and AARCO attic. We had several estimates, and Chris was by far the most transparent, easy to work with and came up with a plan that suited our needs. He was flexible, kind and upfront. We ended up having them decommission the whole house fan, do bay blocking of the soffit vents and do some disinfection. The crew was there on time, cleaned up after themselves and were efficient. We will definitely be using them for any future attic needs and are already discussing some additional insulation needs.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID…read more I had Robert out in July for an estimate. He seemed to be very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Eventually made it to scheduling 8 weeks out... fast forward to today OCT 1st... I never received a confirmation that they were coming or a time frame they would arrive. They show up unannounced while I'm at work and are repeatedly calling/emailing me. The office manager, Leslie, left me a nasty email. When told that I was not home because they never confirmed, she replied with "We do not work that way. Never have, never will." She was extremely rude and unprofessional. They were not happy that they traveled a distance and I was not home due to the lack of communication. How is this a proper way to conduct business? It is 2026. A confirmation that you were coming and a time frame is pretty standard for business nowadays. If you're mad about me not being home and you traveling a distance then maybe you should have confirmed the appointment. They also didn't even offer to reschedule. When I told them I could have someone there in an hour I was told we had to cancel the job all together. My business clearly means nothing to them. Needless to say I do not recommend using them for anything.

I was first turned off by the gruff attitude I received over the phone, and numerous times to call to get any return call. After they Re worked our attic I am glad I did not give up. I could not be happier. I worried about my new roof being cut open to add 8 vents to my ranch home. The guy on the phone did the math with me and explained the codes and how he calculated the number of vents. This team even visited my home spent a lot of time taking pictures measuring, and looking for missing baffels in my attic soffit vents. It turned out we were missing almost everything to do it right. This proposal Engineer spent 45 minutes evaluating everything. Vaulted ceilings in 3 areas of my ranch home. Truly are experts, not just a name, its actually real honest and scientific expert type person. My heating bill in the first 3 months went from 230 per month to 89.00 a month, and the two rooms in front which needed heaters for the grandkids now stays at 68 min to 73 all the time. 8 vents 2 bathroom fans and re designed with proper size hoses 6 inches of blown in installation that from the side looks like my crew cut hair cut. How they got that to be perfect is awesome in itself. 9 vent baffles were installed, sealed all lights and any holes they found My roof vent from Storm Guard roof company had 2 areas where the roof vent went sideways and was never glued down. They repaired it too. Not one detail or little detail was missed. You can trust these people to do it Right. They did it all in 4 hours 15 minutes. No one responded to my call asking about it. I've since learned that this was two of the employees of the company handling things themselves. They handled it badly. We noticed there was some mold growth on the roof decking in the attic but we weren't able to identify the roof leak. Luckily, ecoliving services offered their building science expertise, and informed us that the mold growth wasn't due to a roof leak, but of inadequate ventilation as well as a bathroom exhaust fan that was vented to the attic. They educated us on the cause and how the trapped moisture has no where to go and it forms mold. We felt very comfortable with their knowledge so we went with the for the work. They were thorough, well priced, and extremely clean. They even corrected the roof vent situation and the exhaust so the mold doesn't return. Gus was fantastic and a true professional. Paragon Insulation has done an excellent job for me twice this year. The first time in January, I…read morehad Randy come out to quote attic sealing and insulation. While he was there to provide the quote, he noticed the kitchen floor was really cold (he took off his shoes when he entered the house). He pulled out his thermal camera and we saw the floor was 30-40F! I had noticed that area of the kitchen was cold in winter, but didn't realize it was coming from the floor, where kitchen is cantilevered out past the foundation wall. He proposed insulating the cantilevered area with spray foam, and then said he could insulate all the rim joists in the basement for the same price. A week or so later, while he was onsite doing the insulating, I mentioned I was going to finish the basement later in the year, and expected to use 3 inch foam panels. He suggested using spray foam instead since that would give me a few inches more space in the room. He gave me a price and I said I'd think about it. As I thought about it, I realized getting a few more inches in the room, and also getting a better sealing product would be worth it, and would save me many hours of labor and a lot of material costs. In summer, I started work on the basement project, and once I had the framing up and electrical roughed in, I called (now July) to schedule the spray foam. Randy honored the price from January, scheduled the job quickly, and it looks great! Something I especially appreciate about Randy and Paragon is that the guy who quotes the job actually does the job; it's not some sales guy, it's the owner who quotes AND does the work! Because of that, any questions get answered and you know exactly who is accountable for quality and completion. I did get other quotes for the attic, and Paragon was very competitive. I really appreciated Randy's suggestions, and they did not feel like a sales pitch; it felt like I was getting good options to consider that would solve a problem I had.

Nobody enjoys pouring money into the parts of their home they never see -- attics, crawl spaces,…read moreand the like. But when those areas need attention, it's essential that the work is done right and by someone you can trust. Randy and the team at Paragon Insulation & Services delivered an experience I'd recommend to anyone. My attic was poorly ventilated -- damp, musty, and overdue for attention. After deciding to bring in a professional, Randy came out to my home, thoroughly assessed the problem areas, and put together a detailed quote on the spot. The scope of work included removal of the existing insulation, air sealing around all attic entry points, sanitizing, air baffle installation, and installation of new Weather Blanket cellulose insulation. The new cellulose achieves an R-value that meets or exceeds Illinois code requirements. Paragon's pricing was competitive, though admittedly a bit higher than some of the larger corporate outfits. What made the difference was Randy's willingness to walk me through the entire plan and clearly explain what justified the investment. That transparency, combined with the comfort of working with a local, owner-operated business, made the decision easy. The crew came in and completed the job in about half a day -- fast, efficient, and clean. The entire process was documented with photos and videos, all of which were included with the final invoice. While up in the attic, they even took the time to correct some substandard work a prior contractor had left behind on my bathroom exhaust fans. I couldn't be happier with the results. I've already noticed a meaningful improvement in temperature consistency and overall comfort throughout my home. If you're looking for a trustworthy, professional insulation contractor, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paragon Insulation & Services.

Jim's initial assessment of what we needed felt very honest and he spent a lot of time answering our questions and helping to educate us on why he recommended certain things and not other things based on our home and what he saw in our attic. The price we were quoted felt fair based on the work that was needed, and the rebate that Jim was able to offer was also a gamechanger. We'd happily work with Jim and his team again for our energy related needs. While other assessors came across with a salesman approach, Jim was super practical and realistic from the start about my options. Like I was initially set on getting cellulose for my attic, but Jim pointed out some limitations given the age and construction of my home (condo built in the 1970s). He mentioned examples of older places with cellulose developing issues like sagging ceilings. No other assessor mentioned this, so deciding to work with Jim was an easy choice. He was honest and only recommended what worked best for my situation. As of writing this review, it's been over 2 weeks since his crew came and completed both air sealing and insulation. Before, my second floor would always had a 4 to 5 degree temperature difference from my main floor. Since their work, there is no significant difference. I even checked the temperature consistently for a few days just to make sure. Whatever they did, it's made a huge difference! Overall, I'm very happy with Jim, his team, and the quality of work they provided.
