The scope of work included removal of the existing insulation, air sealing around all attic entry points, sanitizing, air baffle installation, and installation of new Weather Blanket cellulose insulation. The new cellulose achieves an R-value that meets or exceeds Illinois code requirements. Paragon's pricing was competitive, though admittedly a bit higher than some of the larger corporate outfits. Randy and his team did a great job on our attic and crawl space. We had ice dams bad this winter, and my house looked worse than the neighbors'. One night the heat went out and the indoor temp dropped to 49 degrees, so that sealed the deal, we needed better insulation. They also encapsulated the crawl space with spray foam. Turns out there were mice living down there that we had no idea about. One even fell on a worker while they were pulling out the old stuff. Made sure to tell my wife who was on the fence originally about having this done. Big difference since then. No more mice sightings, heating bills are noticeably lower, and the house stays comfortable even when it's really cold outside. Solid work all around. Background: Our home is 25 years old, with a vaulted ceiling in the family room and attic over the upstairs bedrooms. My husband has been on blood thinners for at least 5 years and always complains of the cold inside in the winter. We have tried various other solutions which did not really make the house feel warmer. Solution: Two weeks ago my husband called Paragon Services. Randy promptly came out to check our existing insulation. Yes, we had "some", but more would improve our situation. We were shown pictures of the existing insulation in the attic and given an estimate. Randy was very knowledgeable and helpful. We agreed on the price and set up a date two weeks in the future. I needed to call Paragon's office a couple of times to ask a few more questions and Lindsay in the office was very helpful and prompt returning calls. The day of installation (January 20, 2026) we received a call from Lindsay saying the crew was on the way. They arrived promptly, came inside and started prepping for the installation. They were going to use the bedroom window, but could not, so they had to bring their equipment in through the front door and up the front staircase. It was very cold that day, and they had to leave the front door open. My husband and I were amazed at the short amount of time installation took. Randy showed us video and photos of the work that they had done while his crew took everything back out to their truck. They did a wonderful job cleaning up after and were respectful of our property. For all of these reasons we happily recommend Paragon services and Randy for any insulation needs you may have. I will say that I was skeptical as to whether this would make a difference, but I am happy to say that for the first time in 25 years, my bedroom ( farthest from furnace and in winter always coldest in the house) is now staying 68 degrees even though the thermostat is set at 63 for the night! We have a new construction home and we had concerns about airflow and relative temperature for my daughter's room, which is above our garage. Our garage gets quite cold when it's very cold outside as the external walls are not insulated. Randy came by and thoroughly examined my daughter's room via infrared, showing that while having an uninsulated space below wasn't optimal there was not too much temperature creepage from that source. He showed me the output from his IR device and talked me through what was going on thermally and what our options were. He easily could have recommended a expensive jackhammer solution to kill my (relative) ant of a problem but he did not. As an update to this review and in response to Paragon's response, I did not imply that Paragon is at fault for my roof buckling; however, their crews did install baffles directly on mold that had formed on the roof boards without so much as a mention of it and vented the bathroom vents directly into the attic which, despite what Paragon says, IS NOT up to code per article M1507.2 of the International Residential Code of which my town abides. read more

Just had our Wisconsin cabin crawl space insulated. Paragon were very prompt to come and assess and explained the process. Whole spraying took under 2 hours (900 sq ft). Unfortunately the insulation oozed out of a few of the side crawlspace vents and all over a grill cover- little bit disappointed that this wasn't checked before they left the premises. Also two brand new electric heaters that were int he crawl space were accidentally sprayed. The owner Randy came out the next day and cleaned up the spillage and compensated us $$ for the heaters. I interviewed quite a few different Insulation Companies to find a company that was knowledgeable and offered a fair pricing. I was not necessarily looking for the lowest price, but an honest price based on the work I was requesting. Nic came out and did more than just pop his head up into the attic, he got up there and looked around, noting things to recommend. The home was built in 1969 and had about 6" of blown in Cellulose. He talked about different options from adding Cellulose over the existing to removing everything and going with either a spray in foam or going with blown in fiberglass. He gave me the pros and cons of each option as well as the costs associated with each. I was impressed with the knowledge Nic brought to that table and settled for what we felt would provide us the most comfort. He also offered a solution to help us with pipes that are prone to freezing when ever the temps drop below freezing using their spray foam. We set a date that was about two weeks out and as we got closer to the install date, the owner (Randy) called to see if we could move the install UP with a pending snow storm set to roll in. Their spray in Cellulose team arrived on time, installed baffles and tape measures in the attic prior to spraying in the Cellulose. There weren't to many areas that needed to be sealed which they addressed before doing the rest of the work. They sprayed enough Cellulose to being the total depth to 18". As they were wrapping thing up in the upper attic, Randy arrived with the Spray Foam to address the exposed pipes we were having issues with. He and his team were SUPER professional and answered many additional questions thrown at then giving us additional comfort in the decision we made to go with Paragon. Paragon finished by adding insulation to a separate part of the home, a family room area with its own attic, bringing the total depth there to 20". They cleaned everything up when they were done and were here maybe a total of 2.5 hours. First night we started to experience an immediate difference in comfort. Rooms and areas that HAD a chill or bite in the air were now comfortable and held their heat. We no longer bundle up in blankets in the family room as the room stays warm and really comfortable!! Did Paragon do anything "magical"? No. But they were very professional and their pricing I felt was fair and honest. The work was done to scope and they had no problems taking before and after photos to show the work that was done. The initial service call for closed-cell foam insulation went very well, they explained what was being done, managed the process, taking care to protect the floors when bringing in the hoses. Shortly afterward we found a couple of areas that seemed to have questionable coverage - the installation was in the basement on the foundation rim so it was difficult to reach and get pictures. As soon as I communicated this to the company, with pictures, they responded and Randy came out to check and do a touch-up. I hired Randy to spray foam insulate my crawlspace last summer. He showed up on time. He was professional. The only issue is a small area got missed. I called him up and he apologized and said he could be back out quickly. It rained like crazy for weeks afterward so my yard was very wet. He contacted me during that rainy spell to let me know he hadn't forgotten about me but wanted it to dry out so that his trailer didn't leave ruts. Well, it rained and rained some more.
