    Pan fried pork buns

The reviews don't do this place justice. First of all, the menu is amazing, not only do they serve a wide variety of dishes, the menu itself is laid out so nicely with bright colorful photos of each item. It made ordering really easy because you can see exactly what each dish is. And the variety is amazing, so many dumpling options - we ended up trying a lot of them and they were all great. The pan fried pork buns were probably the highlight though, super delicious and extremely filling! The service was exceptionally prompt and friendly without any unnecessary delays or issues. I like when courses come out quickly as soon as they are ready, rather than waiting for everything to be done in the back. It truly made for an amazing feast for the eyes and taste buds. A few items weren't my favorite but it was more of a personal preference than failure of the dish. With so much variety some items might not be as good as others but I highly recommend the dumplings and noddle dishes - those were my favorites.

Was one of our go to places in Coquitlam but the last two take out orders have been disappointing. Tip. Don't order the Tofo seafood soup. It's not good.

Eew. Wtf was this. King pao chicken was just slimy pieces of chicken that had slimy skin on it. So disgusting. The chicken itself tasted almost raw it was so slimy. And the flavour tasted like cheap sweet and sour mixed with ketchup?? I've never had kung pao in this flavour before. Do.not.order.

20180609 My boyfriend and I walked around Coquitlam Center. We found a Chinese Restaurant nearby to eat dinner. The name of the restaurant called LEGEND HOUSE CHINESE RESTAURANT. The restaurant mainly offers Sichuan entrees & Northern Chinese dim sum. We had a good time eating in the restaurant.  Environment:  We arrived at the restaurant around 5 pm. Although it was still early, the restaurant was super busy. We had to wait for few minutes to get the table. Inside the restaurant, it's Chinese style decoration. There are lots of tables and lots of space in the restaurant. It's very tidy and clean.  Services:  After few minutes waiting, we got a table and began to order. The server also brought the tea and menu to the table at the same time. All the servers are Chinese people. They were very nice and friendly. The menu is in Chinese Style. Each dish in the menu all come with pictures, which makes us very easy to order the food.  Food:  Since we were not too hungry, we only ordered three dishes and rice.  Sweet & Sour Boneless Pork SP咕噜肉,  Fern Root Powder Noodle Salad 涼拌麻辣蕨根粉, and Shanghai"XiaoLongBao" Soup Dumplings上海小籠包. All the dishes came out of the kitchen one by one. First of all, it is sweet & sour boneless pork, which made by boneless pork loin roast, pineapple chunks, minced garlic, and fresh ginger. The boneless pork was very dry and the taste was old. The sweet & sour sauce was very authentic. Next, XiaoLongBao was my most favorite dish, which was very fresh and well cooked. I could tell the small soup dumplings filled with minced pork, ginger and a savoury a sauce. 100 % homemade. They were so delicious and yummy.  Fern Root Powder Noodle Salad came last. It was tossed in a spicy Szechuan peppercorn dressing & garlic. I was very disappointed with this dish. It was not any special flavors. I do not like it.  Prices:  All the dishes on the menu are a little bit expensive. The three dishes that we ordered, are all round $8 ~$9.  In summary, this restaurant was OK. Comparing with Chinese Restaurant in Calgary, it's much better than them.

Food and service was good during our weekend lunch visit. Staff were on top of refilling tea, clearing plates and brought over chilli sauce when we asked. We ordered xiao long bao, pan fried pork dumplings and shanghai fried noodles. Food arrived in reasonable time. The xiao long bao had a nice thin skin and lots of soup inside. There was a good porky flavour for the soup and filling. The pan fried dumplings were good as well. They wee nicely fried with a crispy bottom. The pork filling was juicy and porky. The shanghai fried noodles were okay. I prefer beef slices more and it was weird finding slices of onions because you do not normally find that in this dish. It was not as saucy as we normally expected but the chilli sauce helped the flavour. I prefer the more traditional versions you find elsewhere than this version. They accept credit card which is a plus.

This northern Chinese restaurant has not disappointed me although I have come here many times. The quality of the food remains the same. Good! I ordered their specials. A dish of curry beef with rice at $7.50 and a dish of green onion beef with black pepper with hand dragged booked at $7.50. Added a 6 piece Shanghai xiao long bao soup dumplings. It's only $22 including tax. It's very cheap. The portion was big. I had to pack some of the current beef with rice and half of the dish of the noodles home. My family always likes to come here for lunch or dinner because of the good quality, big portion and good service. I am surprised that I can find such a good Chinese restaurant in Coquitlam.

Had lunch to this place and my experienced was good. The place was very noisy and very busy but we immediately got our table. The food was good but we're expecting more dimsum selections. The service was good and staff are friendly. Prices are okay but will not go back in here

I ate at two other tasting menu spots while I was here and this place was a clear winner. It's a one Michelin star restaurant and absolutely lives up to the hype. We did the tasting menu and every single course was delicious. There were a lot of flavor combinations I'd never had before, and the presentation was on point. They took the time to explain each dish, which I really appreciated. The chef clearly focuses on seasonality and local ingredients, so the menu changes by season. This tasting menu was themed around "Preservation," which made the experience even more interesting. The ambiance was top notch. The space felt warm, intimate, and thoughtfully designed, which really elevated the whole experience without feeling stuffy or overdone. The pacing was perfect, about two hours total, and I left very full and very happy. Can't wait to come back.

Service was exceptional. Both the maître d' and our server were friendly and helpful. We opted to order from the regular and seasonal à la carte menus for dinner: - Brezeln - The pretzel buns were soft and warm and we could not resist putting a big glob of the honey cultured butter on every bite. - Octopus - The tentacles were tender and springy at the same time. The slight heat from the sauce was perfect in cutting through the richness of the meat. - Chicken fried maitake - The coating was very flavourful but we found the the seasoning a bit too heavy. - Scallops - They were fresh and sinfully delicious with the sauce. - Sunchoke Dumplings - A dish with simple ingredients but it was easily the most flavour rich and balanced dish of the evening. - Hunters Chicken - I like that both dark and white meats were served on the dish. Although I generally stay away from white poultry meat but all the pieces were tender and juicy. The seasoning was a bit on the saltier side for us though. - Hay - The custard dish was interesting and we were told it's been the most popular dessert offering since the restaurant doors opened. It reminds me of a deconstructed tres leches cake from a restaurant on the North Shore years agar when I was hoping for a good piece of cake.

From the outside,it looked like a normal house in an industrial area. But walking through the doors, I was greeted by what felt like family! The decor was minimalistic but packed with so much flavour ( just like the food). We got the fois gras which was unlike any other I've had. It was covered with a sugary brûlée crust that added so much more dimension to its flavour and texture. This was also served with bread from the local bakery. The cozy converted house was full but not loud with dim lighting and close‑set tables for an almost home‑dinner vibe. From my visit, we shared three standout plates. The alcachofas con jamón paired confit baby artichokes with roasted onion and jamón Ibérico. It was a good balance of textures and classic Spanish seasoning. The ensalada de ajo blanco con tomates asados y atún semicurado brought a creamier, richer profile: silky almond‑garlic dressing on fire‑roasted tomatoes with chunks of semi‑cured tuna and a drizzle of ash oil that added a nice aromatic note. The arroz negro arrived with seafood mixed into deeply flavoured squid‑ink rice; it was hot, savoury, and rich, perfect with a squeeze of lemon and garlicky aioli. Service was a definite high point! It was warm, knowledgeable, and paced so we weren't rushed. Portions were generous enough for sharing among two, especially with the more substantial rice dish in play. That said, the overall meal trended toward the rich and dense, so pairing with a couple of the lighter salads or crisp wines next time would help round things out. Would recommend for for date nights, small groups, or anyone curious about Spanish flavours. Lighter eaters might want to mix in a salad or a vegetable forward plate to balance the richer offerings.
