I had been to this location a while back, almost four years exactly, for a blogger event, but couldn't leave a review then since the experience was comped. Last night, my in-laws, husband, and I got takeout from this location, though, so now I can leave a review. Lefty's used to have a WB location, which is a lot closer to us, but unfortunately it closed. My in-laws were craving cheesesteaks so we sent my MIL out to get takeout from this Lefty's (~15 min. drive) and then I realized it was the one I went to about four years ago. We all got the #4, the Sam's cheesesteak. My MIL and I got ours without the cheese sauce. Overall it was very good, and very filling; they have different sizes, too, as my FIL got a large size sub. We also got two sides of onion rings, which were good but more batter-y than crispy. Lefty's isn't cheap, I want to say each cheesesteak was like $15? However, the food was good, so I'd order takeout or stop by another time, too. read more

Lefty's Cheesesteak - #4 without cheese sauce, very good - Cheesesteaks Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

My brother had lunch sharing a cheesesteak since they are so big. We also shared onion rings. The sandwich was tooo salty but we ate it anyway. The onion rings were good and not oily at all. I normally would rate a 5 but the salty sandwich killed it. read more

Excellent cheesesteak! Tender meat and great melt with the cheese. I love the decor inside! Really bright and fun. Very clean and plenty of indoor seating. Outdoor seating when the weather is warm. A few arcade games too. Friendly and fast service. Easy parking in the strip mall. read more

While looking for something to eat on a late Friday night. My friend and I decided to try a new place. When we arrived, the restaurant was very brightly lit and we were nicely, greeted and placed our order at the counter. From what we could see there was only one person working that night . So we were a little nervous that we might be waiting a while cause she was also doing online orders. I ordered the cheesesteak and my friend ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. We waited for about 10 minutes and our food was ready. We both stated that our food was very good and flavorful and will return. read more

The cashier (Dylan) and cook (Damon) are so nice and accommodating. I wasn't sure what I wanted, but he allow me to take as much time as needed while deciding what to order. The 12 inch sub is pretty large--it can definitely feed 2. The fries were a bit mushy but I didn't let them breathe before closing the box. The restaurant is bright and clean. There are 2 old school arcade games for free play while you wait. I will certainly be going back! read more

Their sandwich is freaking small and expensive. I don't know if it is because of inflation or if they have been scamming people like that. Look at my picture, I ordered a 12 inch sub and it turns out to be 10 inch. A sandwich is like the size of bread sticks. And I paid $13 for some bread stick size sandwich Don't come here read more

If you need some fatty deliciousness in your life, Lefty's is for you. The cheesesteak is really perfect with lots of cherry peppers. Yum! Perfect bread, perfect meat and cheese, so yummy. The Southpaw fries are kind of crazy with the Flamon Hots on top, but if you had been drinking, these would be great! the fried mushrooms were crispy and good, and the online ordering process was very smooth. Will return! read more

Great Service, Awesome Cheesesteak! Best Cheesesteak in the country! I t recommend Sam's Cheesesteak. I get it with double white cheese and no taco cheese sauce The ordering app works well too. They make it to order, and it takes time. I recommend the app. read more

Always a great sandwich and it's always prepared quickly. The customer service has always been great and my order was made accurately

Delicious sandwiches. Nice juicy ribeye meat on the original. A regular size is a 8" full meal. The staff I have dealt with were very polite. I used the ladies room and told the young cashier they needed tissue and towels in there. She was very thankful for me letting her know. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite and Lefty's did not disappoint. Looking for something without bread and they were able to give me a cheese stake on a bed of lettuce. It hit the spot and it was quick. Nice shop with great service. read more

Not sure if it's MSG or sodium, but it feels like both... tried the brisket sandwich, without cheese and the bbq sauce was very salty. We never tried this place, so got several different things to sample. All extremely salty. I don't have hypertension, but I felt it after a few bites. The things I could try tasted good, but could feel my body reacting badly immediately. read more

Forget every cheesesteak you have ever had! This is absolutely the best. I was out late one night looking for something to eat and stumbled upon this! Absolutely delicious. Stopped in for dinner tonight. Mixed review for me for sure! My husband and I each ordered a combo - his was upgraded to a large and an order of onion rings. Our total was $43...OUCH!! Seemed like quite a lot of money for 2 fast food combos!!! The fries were average. Onion rings were not cooked long enough, and by the time we made it home, they were just a big ball of dough and onions! Now for the good part...Husband ordered a regular cheesesteak sub. He said it was really good. I ordered the brisket sub, and it was Amazing! The staff was really friendly and helpful in the ordering process. Would I go back??? Not at those prices! I understand everything is expensive right now. But $43??? Holy Cow!!! Sorry Leftys - its just not worth it to me!! read more

I've been coming too lefty's for a year or two now and it's one of my favorites. They have sooo many locations now, but the food is still consistent. Highly recommend the "southpaw" cheesesteak that's topped with spicy Cheetos... and add extra hot cherry peppers, it's amazing. They're currently releasing new fried chicken sandwiches that I'm extremely eageer to check out, they look delish! The egg rolls are also one of their special treats that you canny really find anywhere else. I like both the cheesesteak and the corned beef both dusted in the hot Cheetos Friendly staff and great food every time make this an obvious choice for the Michigan cheesesteak lover!!! If you see Sam in there, tell him Wild Willy sent you!!! read more

We drove to a place down the street from lefty's to grab lunch, I'm so glad it was closed! Lefty's is great, it's very clean (which is an absolute must!) and the staff if super friendly. My husband and son ordered the Cheesesteak and I had the buffalo chicken sub. We also ordered the Ruben egg rolls and an order of their banana pudding. The food is prepared right in front of you and it came out really fast. everything was delicious, and unlike most places, it actually looks just like (if not better) than the pictures on the menu. We will definitely go back again! read more

Taste just like your in PHILLY ! So freakin good. I was visiting Detroit for the holidays and came across this restaurant while driving around Southfield. I looked online to see what they had, and instantly knew what I wanted. We ordered a Philly + corn beef sandwich to split, they week booth amazing . I wanted to get coney dogs but they said they were out, so that kinda sucked but other that I loved the food. I'll definitely be back soon. Oh yeah they have all your favorite Detroit Coney Island staples "burgers, coneys, desserts, corn beef egg rolls and much more" read more

I came to Lefty's today for lunch. This is my second time coming here. I ordered the12 inch Italian stallion with fries. I have to say they do not skimp on ingredients. I have been seeing foodies post about the place FOREVER. Everyone seems to love it, but I'm a vegetarian, so I never really checked it out. But... now they have Impossible Meat! I was so excited, I could not wait to try it, and just as I suspected, it did not disappoint. It was everything I could have ever hoped a Veggie Steak Hoagie would be. Not only that, but the staff are absolutely delightful, the restaurant is very clean and the food comes out fast. What else can one ask for? I will be back for another one soon! read more

The brisket fries were incredible. Everything else was mediocre.

I wont be back Poor service by people who obviously don't care about your business I ordered online and went to pick up my order. As i walked in their door, i got a text saying that they were out of an item and that i will get a refund in 3-5 business days. As i verified what was in the bag, and started to inquire about a replacement item, the staff hurried away and back to an obviously personal conversation on their phone The only reason for the 2 star rating is that the sandwich had good flavor, although it was thrown together read more

Nice cheesesteak spot. As you know cheesesteaks are a regional thing, many topping vary, and they have most available for your choosing. They also have this incredibly hot stuff that you can add. It is good, but don't underestimate it. It's HOT!! read more

This is a cheat meal place for me. never had a bad thing here. The Halloween decorations were an added plus.

The food was quite good, but my husband was treated really rudely when he went to pick up our food. We ordered online and they got all flustered and rude because they couldn't find the order...not our fault! We got a southpaw and a chicken hoagie. Looks like some of the other locations have better ratings. Not sure if we'll go back to this one. read more

This is a quick dining restaurant you go up to the counter to order. I order the buffalo chicken hoagie with cajun seasoned French fries fries and dipped them into hot sauce. My friend got a classic philly cheessteak and he said it tasted very authentic and that it was knew ol f the best cheese steaks hes ever had. Everything came out in a timely manner and the cashier was very nice. We also got a superman cheesecake which was way too sweet so we didint end up eating it. Overall good experience! read more

Love Lefty's so much but this one is not doing it right. Wayyyyy too many onions and barely any meat. The sandwich is so skinny. Come on. The one on middle belt in Livonia should train these guys. Was happy to try another one but I'll stick to the OG that actually gives you the amount of food you paid for. Tasted good when I picked out half the onions. read more
