They've never taken more than two days to get my work clothes back into wearable form and their prices seem fair (again, not sure what the competition is charging). And my favorite feature is - as their homemade, construction paper sign in the window proudly proclaims - that they do original hems on jeans. And for $10! Now, that's one place where I know they put the competition to shame. I've paid 2-3 times that much for similar results. Only drawback I see (and this may be standard): Cash or check only.

When I went in with 2 dresses to get buttons replaced for both of them, the girl at the front who is very young, acted sort of clueless, and said she would have to wait till the manager gets back to see if the buttons were available. Keep in mind it's freezing cold out to commute, so I was leaving my dresses there, not sure if they'd even be able to be taken care of. She said that they would text me if they did not have the buttons. I dropped those dresses off on a Wednesday, the pick up day was assigned to be Saturday. I get a text on Saturday saying that they don't have the buttons. Waiting 3 days to notify me that they did not have the buttons, not professional or considerate to the customer's time at all. It's one thing to not have the buttons in stock and not be able to check for them / see what can be done when the customer comes in, but to make them wait until the pick up day, and only text them on the official pick up day that you do not have the buttons is actually ridiculous and unprofessional. You should at least message or call the customer to make them aware soon after they came in, a day or two after is acceptable. Don't make the customer wait until the actual pick up day, as I thought I would be getting the dresses fixed. Had I known this is going to be this unprofessional, I would've dropped my dresses off elsewhere so they would've been ready for me in time. The other employees are mostly polite enough, but I don't know the name of the very young girl who works there, she was very quiet, and not knowing how to do her job. I won't be coming back here as a result of this.

When I returned to pick them up, I was given someone else's pants, which I promptly returned. My own pants were never located. Since then, I have repeatedly tried to resolve the issue. Rather than replacing the pants or refunding the hemming charge for a service performed on an item that was never returned to me, I was told I needed to provide proof of purchase. Because I paid cash, I no longer had a receipt, although I did provide the product information, style number, size, and current retail price to make replacement as easy as possible. Even if I had bought the pants two years ago and did not have a receipt, that does not change the fact that they lost a customer's property. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. Instead of working toward a reasonable resolution, communication became increasingly hostile. I was spoken to disrespectfully, accused of changing my story, and even had the police threatened over an unrelated payment issue that was immediately resolved. At one point, I was told she was a millionaire and she insulted me, insinuating that I was poor and only needed the money for my rent because I asked her to replace the pants she lost. Despite an agreement that the pants would be replaced if they did not resurface after two weeks, that commitment was never honored. At the end of the day, the facts are simple: my pants were lost while in the dry cleaner's possession, I was charged for hemming a pair of pants I never received back, and over a month later the issue still has not been resolved. I have since switched to Old Town Valet Cleaners and have had an excellent experience. Their pricing has been more transparent, their communication has been consistent, and their customer service has been significantly better. I cannot recommend a business that refuses to take responsibility when a customer's property is lost.

What I got when I picked it up was a bright red messenger bag that looked exactly as it did on display at the Kate Spade store 3 years ago.
