Chocolate Boston creme donut filled with custard creme.
Vi T.

This local family-owned donut shop has been here for decades. Donuts and croissants are made fresh everyday before the crack of dawn, and some of the fluffiest donuts you can find in Alameda. Stopped in today for a chocolate boston creme and twisted chocolate bar donut. Classic and good choices!

First, they are located in a mall so there's parking, which is important to me. Without a doubt, the Lees make tasty donuts. Service is what really closes the deal. A very nice polite young lady helped me with my large order. I will be back. Thanks!

Lee's Donuts inside Neptune Plaza has probably been here for 30+ years. I used to rent an apartment across the street, and it was a West Alameda favorite already. I have never had a bad experience here. Always a cheerful hello in the morning. Donuts are fresh and delicious! Free parking in plaza lot.

Food here is good. Service is all right. Ambience is chatter and public. Come here when you want your donut fixed.

First timer -- and the service was amazing! Imagine an early weekend morning where it is it's busiest and your girl, Kat, is craving doughnuts She opens her trusty, dandy Yelp app and finds, Lee's Donuts. Kat enters and the place is already filled with laughter between customers and staff members. It seems like a joyous place to come first thing in the morning. She shows them a picture of a side cut view of a chocolate chip doughnut and low and behold she finds the last one from the freshest batch. It was still warm! The staff members continue to joke with her just as if she was a regular. She was told that the owner, Lee is sitting right by the window greeting each customer as they visit his store and he was. I love that this is a small town business, still thriving even during COVID. I would say 5 STARS for the service and quality of dough on the doughnut we tried. The bread was soft and fluffy. Not days old tasting like Hometown Doughnuts in Alameda. This particular type of chocolate chip donut also had a chocolate filling inside plus more chocolate chips at the center! What would make this even more amazing is a Nutella filling!!! What sets this shop above the rest is 100% the quality of customer service given. Please consider giving it a visit

My 1st visit to Lee's Donuts. I went based on prior Yelp reviews. It was a little out of the way from work, and I wouldn't have seen it if I wasn't using Google direction finder. It is situated in a strip mall and partially hidden by the mall's facade. They have a wide variety of Donuts. I also decided to order breakfast for me and my coworker. I ordered the crescent egg and cheese sandwich. I was told the crescent oil hand made fresh every morning. The sandwich was tasty. Next time, I should add bacon or sausage. I also ordered 2 apple fritters. Every was fresh and delicious.

I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

I went with their mocha and was in love. Many places make it too sweet but I think it was well balanced. The BLT has the crunchiest bacon and to me, it's so much better that way. Was really hoping for a better experience. Wait time = Reasonable Customer service and dining experience = Poor/unsatisfactory. Unfriendly and frazzled server complained how busy it was and refused to do more to assist us -- didn't even try. Server looked annoyed with an inquiry and got a manager for help -- we didn't even ask for a manager. I hope the owner invests in these servers and gives them an opportunity to compete the ServSafe course. Or maybe just re-training them on food service. Food = Very disappointing, unsatisfactory and was expecting more considering the pictures on their IG looked pretty good. The food was not hot (I'm pretty sure they were below 140 degrees). Everything was over salted. Bread and fries were soggy. Took awhile for food and drinks to come out. The beignets, which we came for, were a total let down! Ambiance = Okay, minus the frustrated and stressed out servers. Decor was nice.

Amazing. My friends and I were in the area for a car meet and popped into Firebrand to check out…read moretheir pastries and use the bathroom. First off, it's spacious. Between the inside seats and the outdoor bench seating, there's plenty of space for a lot of people and when the weather is nice, it's even better. The pastries display was absolutely amazing. Not just their bread offerings, but also their croissants and bombolinis, my gosh it's hard not to throw caution into the wind and order a little of everything. I opted for the matcha croissant, blackberry cream cheese danish, passionfruit bombolini, and vanilla bombolini, and all were amazing and not too sweet. The topper was the ube latte that I got along with everything. Overall, a great pit stop if you're in the area or if you just want to come here because of this place. It's sure to be a good, delicious time.

I love this area of Alameda, populated with so many fun breweries and family-friendly spaces. This was our first time at this spot and we noticed a sign (see below) for the best English muffins in the Bay Area so we had to grab one toasted with butter. Would love to try it as a brekky sandwich, but we didn't want to ruin our appetites for festival food lunch..the brekky menu looked amazing including biscuits & gravy, churro French toast sticks, lemon zest French toast, brekky pizza, and the pork & jam (crispy pulled pork, house made blackberry jam, fried egg, honey-buttermilk biscuit with country fried taters...sounds delish!!) They also have a beautiful selection of baked goods, pretzels, packaged breads to-go, lunch AND dinner options including soups, salads, pizzas, kiddo menu, sandwiches, sliders, and more. I had no idea! Service was quick, hours kickoff at 7:30a, and there's indoor/outdoor seating. Plenty of parking outside or across the street if needed. Can't wait to come back soon!

I was highly surprised at how good the chorizo hash was. I would definitely recommend trying it. The cappuccino was good and it gave me the boost I needed to start my day. My husband had the Gold Coast hash & Thai tea, he really enjoyed both. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio to have our breakfast and coffee. The staff was welcoming and friendly. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. Street parking/ meter parking. They have a small retail area with coffee cups, tote bags, cards, and more cute unique items. I did notice when I was leaving that they have a small bar area carrying wine and beer. Next time I will have to take a better look at the bar area and see what they got.

Alright, it was definitely a "treat myself to a coffee" type of morning at work today, so I decided…read moreto give Wescafe another try. This was my second visit and unfortunately...I'm gonna have a little "Karen" moment... I ordered their seasonal Horchata Latte, iced with almond milk. They were out of almond milk, but offered oat milk instead. Ehhh, I've been trying to get off the oat milk lately, but whatever, I said okay. Then while he's ringing me up, I notice the $0.75 upcharge for alternative milk. Mildly annoying because in this economy alternative milk can practically be cheaper than regular milk at this point lol. Even Peet's stopped charging extra for non-dairy milk, but fine. I can get past that. What I CANNOT get past is the additional $0.50 CHARGE FOR ICE. ICE, y'all. Apparently making my latte iced costs an extra 50 cents. I genuinely don't think I've ever been charged extra simply for ordering an iced latte before. Someone else was treating me to coffee, so I wasn't about to make an issue out of 50 cents at the register, but seeing a literal upcharge for ICE definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. And actually, this isn't our first questionable upcharge here. The last time my colleague came in, they ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and paid extra to add avocado...only to get back to work, open it up, and realize there was no avocado in the burrito. So they paid the upcharge for absolutely nothing. Unfortunately, my Horchata Latte didn't save today's experience either. It tasted like anything BUT horchata and absolutely there was no cold foam or cinnamon on top as advertised on their menu. I kept waiting for that cinnamon-y, creamy horchata flavor to show up and...it never did. I think I speak for all when I say, STOP Ai-ing your menus and photos for drinks when they look nothing as advertised. The service itself was friendly, so no complaints there, but between the alternative milk upcharge, paying extra just to have a drink iced, the previous avocado situation, and then not really enjoying the drink itself, I honestly don't have much of a reason to come back for a third try. Charging for ice is wildddd. Nah, I'm cool.
