While visiting a dear friend living in Philly experiencing local food became priority. I learned that Lee's Deli carries baked goods created by local bakers. We purchased 6 items made by Taa'ib Pastries. These sweet treats are so delicious. My favorite is the French Apple Pie. So if you are craving homemade style baked goods in West Philly I recommend Lee's Deli.

Hoagie with 2 slice of meat and 1 slice of cheese for $11.00 plus door dash cost SMH

My coworkers and I orders from Lee's today for lunch after hearing amazing things. Well, we got 4 hoagies and all of them lacked meat. The hoagies had 2 slices of meat and 1 slice of cheese. It was the worst hoagie ever, it was like eating a veggie sandwich. We will not be ordering again. Extremely disappointed!

bulgogi cheese steak + carrot cake muffin are great! Add pickles for sure!!! =========== Just got delivery from DoorDash and I'm very satisfied Bulgogi cheese steak I was worried this would be super sweet, but it actually wasn't. I added pickles to this and it was great with the meat. There's pieces of broccoli in this too so it's kinda not terrible for you. The cheese and the beef aren't overwhelming one another. Carrot cake Texture is a little dense more like a muffin, but this was not too sweet and cream cheese frosting had enough tang in it. Yum. As I was eating, some grease or sauce went all over my fingers. Def a messy meal. Tasty if you want a bit of a twist to your cheese steak.

    The Reuben!!!

I placed an order for the Reuben sandwich with the dressing on the side and received not only the dressing on the sandwich but also the dressing on the side!! When I called to let the owner know, he claimed he didn't hear me say on the side however, how did I end up with a side of Russian dressing. It's the lack of accountability for me in this situation. Customer service is the pinnacle of any business! I do not feel I received good customer service at all. An apology for the miscommunication would have sufficed however, that did not happen here. Looks like I will have to find a new establishment to patronize!!!

I ordered from Lee's Deli because I know they have carrot cake made by the mythical "carrot cake man". The carrot cake man has been selling his carrot cakes on public transportation for many years. I didn't just order the carrot cake. I ordered a sampling of desserts along with an Italian hoagie. It is a deli after all. The Italian hoagie was a good hoagie, but nothing memorable. It will not be my go-to spot for an Italian. It seems none of the desserts are made in house, but they definitely know where to get them from The carrot cake was the same cake I remembered from years back. Very moist with the best cream cheese icing I've ever tasted. The red velvet and pound cake were also outstanding cakes. Right up there with the best Amish cakes. The sweet potato pie was just OK. I wouldn't get that again. I had 3 outstanding desserts, so no complaints there. But the deli part doesn't seem to be up to that very high bar.

"Rule Breaker" Salmon and Shrimp Sandwich
    FoodieLife M.

Game Over Cheesesteak- This is the main reason I go to Lee's! I was introduced almost a decade ago now and that sandwich calls my name every now and then. Marinated chicken, grilled on the flat top and topped with Shrimp. I usually get it with Mayo and Fried Onions and spinach even tho you have your choice of spinach or broccoli. The Sweet and Sour/sweet chili type sauce that goes with it actually ties everything together perfectly. Great creative cheesesteak. 4.5/5 Rule Breaker Cheesesteak/Sandwich- The last time I got this sandwich with Salmon and Shrimp, it was a little underwhelming. Everything wasn't as fresh as I've had before but still pretty tasty. Nothing is really chopped and there's a lot of vegetables in the sandwich which makes for good flavors but certainly isn't a cheesesteak. Probably a 3.3/5 Lee's is a neighborhood spot but the Game Over cheesesteak is worth traveling for. (Ig: FoodieLifeMac . Check out my Lee's Deli YouTube review on Foodie Life Mac page. My fave sandwich is still Korean BBQ Cheesesteak, but now my fave fries are Garlic Parmesan Cheese Fries (though I ask for less cheese because of my lactose sensitivity). Regarding portions: If two of us each order our own sandwich and share a small order of fries, it's already pretty filling. I have shared a large portion of fries between 2-3 people when we got our own sandwiches...probably too much food for 2, but better for 3. And since they introduced me to Carrot Cake Man, I always order it when I go and ask them to microwave it on the spot. If I ever change my order from these 3 things, maybe I'll update my review again, ha.

    Corned Beef Special / Provolone
    Felicia H.

I'm so happy that Lee's have reopened. Today we went to get 2 Corned Beef Specials. There are so awesome & they had everything that we asked to put on them. They every got the cheese right. Husband wanted provolone & I wanted swiss. Lee's is my favorite place to go, they make the best sandwishes & more in West & Southwest. They have rebuild the place so wonderfully. They are still as friendly as they have always been.

Since it was happy hour, we ordered all of the $6 Snacks and some $8 snack items. OOOK, here we go: Hot chicken slider( you only get 1 folks) very good and had the right amount of toppings 5/5 Pulled pork slider: Very flavorful, juicy, and tender: 5/5 Caesar salad: 5/5 Deviled eggs. Good, but too salty Fried pickles: Good, but too salty Chicken & Andouille Gumbo: This was excellent. The braised chicken thighs were seasoned well and very tender. The pickled red onions really elevated this dish. 5/5 The grilled salmon had a great char and crunch. It was not dry nor over cooked. 5/5 The burger was delicious just as a burger should be and the famous duck fat fries were very crunchy. 5/5 for both Happy hour is really the time to go, but make sure they honor your reservation. The Love is better. The space is beautiful, the service is consistently warm, and Stephen Starr's fingerprints are all over it. I love the painted white brick, the floral artwork along the walls, the street-level energy, and the outdoor seating. I also remember taking the elevator upstairs once. I can't remember whether we actually stayed and ate up there or asked to move back downstairs, but the space was charming and extremely private. It would be a great setting for a group dinner or event. Personally, I prefer downstairs. It's darker, livelier, and I like being at street level. The menu historically leaned more heavily into elevated Southern comfort food, which has never been my favorite style of cooking. That's probably why I've tended to prefer The Love for lunch over dinner, especially when Philadelphia has so many Starr restaurants competing for the same night out. I used to get what I remember as a salmon and farro bowl, although the menu appears to have evolved since then. Whatever the exact iteration was, I loved it. Fish and farro are both right in my wheelhouse. I've also enjoyed the kale salad and other lighter dishes. The thing I remember most vividly, though, is the cornbread. It is outrageously good and reason enough to order something for the table. I also give Starr credit for continuing to broaden the range of food styles in his portfolio. Once you've built restaurants across Italian, French, Mexican, English, steakhouses, seafood, and the rest, there are only so many obvious boxes left to check. The Love feels like its own lane: distinctly American, approachable, comfort-driven, and still polished enough to feel like a Starr restaurant. Looking at the menu now, it seems broader than I remember, with more options that appeal to me, and I'd be psyched to go back. The Love probably isn't the first Starr restaurant I'd choose purely based on cuisine, but that says more about the depth of his Philadelphia portfolio than it does about this restaurant. The room, hospitality, location, and execution are all excellent. I'd happily come here any day. Starr doesn't miss.

We asked for the toppings on the side because, you know, kids, but WOW. The vodka sauce was delicious, and the pickled tomato concoction that came with them? I could've bathed in it. The calamari was perfectly crisp and came with the unexpected bonus of onion rings, which were ever-so-lightly battered and perfectly crunchy. And once again, the sauces were superb. The boys shared a cheese pizza, half pepperoni, and really enjoyed it. My husband ordered the burger, and yes, I stole a bite--and yes, to no one's surprise, it was amazing. We also ordered the charred broccoli after seeing everyone rave about it online. They were NOT wrong. Creamy, smoky, charred perfection. And finally... drumroll please... the 10 oz. smoked Duroc pork chop! OH. EM. GEEE.
