Took my mother in law here, and she got a mani which was fine, but my experience with my pedicure was pretty bad. The nail technician cut my big toe nails so short it hurt and then when I asked her to stop, started speaking Vietnamese to the technician next to her. I sort of gave up since I was worried she would not clean out my cuticles at all and she wasn't cutting anything anymore anyways. Later on, a different technician threw a handful of those disposable flip flops in my direction and ended up next to my chair. It was ridiculous. Wish we went to one of the other salons in Naperville that were rated higher. We ended up at Lee's b/c it was closest, but I'm sure we won't return again. read more

I rarely write reviews but this should be acknowledged. I just moved to IL 5 weeks ago and after all the unpacking I was excited to have a relaxing day and pamper myself a little. When I walked in I was not acknowledged with a hello just stares. There were two employees sitting in the pedicure chairs 1 male that was literally picking with his toes and a female looking down at her phone. There was a younger lady with sleeve tattoos that finally looked up from helping a client and said how can I help you. The young lady that was on her phone finally made her way up from the pedicure chair and without a hello said pick a color then go sit at table 11. As I walked to table 11 no one was sitting there but someone was in the seat next to 11. so I asked if table 11 was where I should go. The lady at table 12 never looked to say hello or even respond. An older lady came from the back and finally sat at table 11 but never said hello. Every part of me wanted to leave but I just wanted to have a day doing something for me. The lady that started my nails was rude, pulling my hands, tapping my hands when she wanted me to switch as opposed to using words to communicate, she used a glass ball to aggressively prop my hand on. After about 10 minutes into my fill- in I asked if someone else would be able to do my nails. The lady's response was "what did I do to you?" I thoughtfully and calmly explained my perspective on my experience. Then she said no one else could do my nails. There were 5 people that were not helping anyone. So I allowed her to continue then she started speaking in Vietnamese which caused other employees to continuously walk by staring. The man that was picking his toes earlier sat at table 9 continuously coughing with his mouth open. The customer he was helping had to ask him to please cover his mouth or please wear a mask. I never raised my voice, I continued to say please and thank you BUT I will never return. Such an unfortunately experience on otherwise a beautiful day. read more

I've been to 4 different nail technicians here. Honestly, they do an ok job, some better than others. One pulled my arm several times instead of just asking me to move forward or gently taking my hand for the manicure. During my 4th visit, I got a super deluxe pedicure and the technician rushed through the entire process. Also, they like using a drill to remove gel polish instead of properly buffing and then soaking the polish off. She severely damaged my nails. I'll never be back. I have been going there as long as I can remember 12-15 years on a regular basis because it is closest from my home. Starting before Covid, the service level has gone down significantly with 'don't care' attitude. They charge rubbishly as they wish. For example, I had to remove two last nails from the previous service done 4 weeks back, and I was still charged $15 for two nail temoval which she chipped out with nail in less than 30 seconds. Recently, I wanted regular nail polish with acrylics vs gel as I needed to change color in 1 week. The minute I said regular polish, my priority went down. They kept taking all other walk-ins with no appointments, and the main lady kept lying that they had appointments. They made me sit 40 minutes while it was almost closing time then and not worth going anywhere else. Then they did crappy job in 15 minutes, including one crooked nail and polish gunk on thumb, which did not dry and fiber from their brush stuck on nail polish. Had to go back to get it fixed. Another 25 minutes wait - no apologies but blame that I should have gone with gel nails. When I was leaving, one old employee who knew me told me that the owner do this with no gel polish customers. Wow !! Latest Pedicure experiment - I sat in their chair 6:18. 6:28 girl already had started applying nail polish. I asked since when the pedicure is 10 minutes only. She said she completed all the steps. Then she took off to greet other walk-ins, diluted nail polish another 7-8 minutes later she came back and finished nail polish at 6:45. There was no rush and no one was waiting. Still, she rushed to barely doing anything. When I raised this with the owner, they tried to prove me wrong that they started my pedi at 6. I showed my Ring video that I left home at 6:08 pm only. I have been giving them the benefit of the doubt and kept going back. But last several visits I have come back very unhappy from there. With 18-20% tip and average $80-100 service a visit, I am sure someone else will treat me better. Time to say Goodbye to this arrogant, rude liar business. read more

Lee Nails is a little more elegant than your average nail salon, spacious and equipped with flat screen TVs for your entertainment. You have your typical beige walls, with pedicure stations lined up against the wall to the right and your manicure stations off to the left. Only minus is that there is no private room for waxing services - they just wax and rip wherever you last end up. (Because, you know, you want everyone to cringe along with you.) The place is always crushed with people since it's in such a great location, but I think it also keeps the staff on pace. I never feel like I'm being rushed off so they can free up a chair. They offer gel and acrylic nail sets as well as waxing services, so they've got your basic nail salon needs covered. I usually go in for a gel manicure set, takes about 30 minutes, and cost about $35 w/o tip. With that being said, their staff could be a little more personable. For some reason, I always seem to get a girl who I am absolutely positive is a mute, until someone on the staff speaks to her, to whom she responds. I've started playing a game: every time I go in, they are playing that old Disney movie August Rush. And for some reason, I always seem to come in when the movie is starting. So, in my mind, I'll bet the part in August Rush that the my manicurist proves she's not a mute. (Pro Tip: It's always when Jonathan-Rhys Myers character punches his brother in the face. i've been to a few local nail salons and this won surprised me. i wanted to get my set of OPI no chip gel nails removed and my hair salon had no openings and i wanted to try a new place. This place was super busy (a day before new years) but they fit me in as a walk in and got my polish removed for $5. Their price for no-chip was less than where i'd had mine done. This store was also a lot cleaner than my usual places. Which is a big bonus. read more

When I took the nail polish off (which was not done well) I noticed that my nails were filed down horribly, completely uneven! My 6 year old would have done a much better job then this. I was in a rush and couldn't see very well due to my contacts, I should have never left there with what she did to my nails. My dip was barely taken off and painted over. My nails looked like there were chunks and divots missing out of them. It was pretty horrific. I took the polish off at home only to be left with most of the dip still on my nails. I took my daughter there for her first "nail polish change" and because she was little (7yrs) they kept bumping her for customers that needed either a pedicure or more expensive services. I wasn't going to go there again, but decided spur of the moment to stop by on my way back home. My favorite salon for 12 years! Van and Jimmy, the owners of this salon are very friendly and experienced in all types of nail services, as is their staff. They do a very good job on gel nails, manicures, pedicures, and waxing. The salon is decorated very nicely and is clean and well maintained. They have the newest nail colors and lots of no chip colors to choose from. You can easily call for an appointment or just stop in for any service and not wait too long. I have been going to Lee Nails for a number of years. I am satisfied with Van and her husband Jimmy's salon. They do good work. I don't agree with some of the other reviews. They wear masks to ensure they don't breathe in the dust and fumes from the acrylic and gel fills (one review mentioned they had colds) not the reason for the masks. They have their equipment sanitized in the back and the brushes are always sitting brush down(as they should be) in a cleaner. They provide clean towels and clean tools at the sink where you wash hands. There may be one or two techs that are just OK for pedicures, but you can request your favorite especially if you are a regular (they do take appointments). Lastly, remember not all of the techs are bilingual and speak very LITTLE ENGLISH, so give them a chance and be a polite customer. I have had a solid good experience at "Lee Nails". I have pink and whites done, which is a complicated process. I use Van or Jimmy and when they are not there, I use Van's brother-in-law. There are other techs that do a great job. You are correct they don't always greet you because they may not see you and some are very self-conscious about their inability to ask what you need in English. They work for me. read more

Honestly incredibly average on a good day. The prices are high and always increasing, the staff is stand offish, and to me the worst part is the nail polish is ALWAYS watered down. I can't count the amount of times I see them pouring solution to water down the polish to spread thinner as they paint my fingers/toes. Like seriously?? Get a new bottle and stop being cheap. I've had them do a full set and I've had them take off a full set done somewhere else. I've had a few pedicures and it really is more relaxing than I thought...(I had a hard time imagining being comfortable with a stranger touching my feet) Ironically, though it is a nail place, the reason I am most often there is to get my eyebrows waxed. Of all the places I've tried, waxing or threading, this place has done the nicest job most consistently. Your eyebrows are not something you want to be afraid to show...and the ladies that I've met here know what they are doing. You can call and make an appointment but the turn around time for walk-ins doesn't seem bad at all. There are magazines while you wait and there is usually a movie playing in the background. I have been going back ever since and have continued to be impressed. The building itself is really well maintained and they have invested in high quality tvs which always have movies playing. I would never recommend Lee Nails to anyone. I am a regular customer at another nail salon and decided to give Lee Nails a try. I get a mani/pedi every month and hence I am quite aware of the quality of service other nail salons in this area provide. The ambiance at the salon was very beautiful. However, the person who did my nails did it so fast, as if she wanted to get rid of me to get another client, when there wasn't really anyone waiting. Basically, other clients next to me where still getting pedicures done, when I was already done with my pedicure and my nail specialist was finishing up my manicure. When I mentioned to my nail specialist, that she hardly gave me any massage, compared to the other nail salon, she refused. Then she looked over to Tiffany, since she did not speak English well. I am not sure if Tiffany is the owner or another employee, who spoke English well. Tiffany told me if I was not happy with the service, never to come back again, thus insulting me in front of other clients. It is unfortunate, that as a first-time client, rather than trying to lure new clients, a rude remark was made as such. It was not only insulting for a new customer like me, it reminded me of what a mistake I had made for trying out this new place. Honestly, Tiffany is the rudest nail specialist I have encountered and I am really not sure how an owner of a nail salon can allow employees to speak to clients as such. When I asked her, if she was the owner, she said, 'Why does it matter?'. At that point, I just decided that I had and there was no point speaking with this young arrogant lady. I believe professionalism and customer service is key to a nail salon's success. For folks around this area, there are other nail salons that provide great customer service and not insult customers. All I did was walk over and ask why the 5 dollars was added. When I was told it was for rounded vs square nails I said "Oh okay! no problem". I was then told by my friend that the lady doing her nails said "Is your friend Indian? Indians are so cheap they are always asking about the money". I was in no way saying that she should not charge me the extra $5 but as a customer I have a right to know what I am paying for. I had been here a few years ago to get acrylics and they did such a horrible job I decided not to return. However lee nails being one of the closest salons to me I decided to check out recent reviews and they seemed better so I decided to go again. My manicure was by far the worst I have ever received. The technician was rude, impatient, and did everything in a hurry. I asked her to file only and she cut my nails. She nipped my finger while doing my cuticles, the hand "massage" was 30 seconds of her putting lotion only on my hands. While painting I noticed a fiber of a thread sticking out of my thumb nail and I asked her to pull it out, she folded it on my nail and painted right over it. They have not changed one bit in their customer service or quality in their work. Do not waste your time or money going here. read more
