Urban Nail & Spa immediately impressed me with its clean atmosphere, warm hospitality, relaxing music, and clearly sanitized tools. My nail tech gave me a wonderful, soothing manicure with vitamin E oil, and for a basic manicure, my nails looked like I had an upscale gel service. I'll definitely be returning. It looked clean and modern. They played cooking shows on the TV screens, which I enjoy. I was seated at a pedicure chair right away and given a choice of colors for my gel manicure and regular pedicure. I did ask to ensure that they would not use the electric sander on my nails. I was quite pleased to find that they never use that for gel nails, a policy that I wish more salons would adopt. There were only two customers when I arrived, but people began to shuffle in during the time I was there. The pedicure was fine. I appreciate that they did not try to upsell me, but I do think it would have been nice to have more services such as a bit more of a massage or some more scrubs. It was quite basic and I wasn't offered other options. I was then moved to the manicure table after the pedicure was complete. Like the pedicure, it went by quite quickly. Not that it is necessary, but the staff really made no attempt to have a conversation at all. I'm OK with it, but they could have come across a little friendlier. No one was rude at all, but it just wasn't the warmest environment. As far as the manicure, I liked the color, but the gel dried unevenly with a few bumps here and there which annoyed me. Also it just wasn't quite the length or shape that I requested. All in all, I was glad that they were able to get me in and it was a decent service at a reasonable price. However, I do feel that the services were quite basic and it wasn't the best looking manicure that I've had.

My only complaint is that some of the french tips are different thicknesses and could've been a bit more detail oriented. The total was $68 plus tip, with the base gel being $45 plus $25 art and $2 cash discount. They gave out complimentary $5 coupon and hand cream as a holiday gift!

When I got to her place in Naverville downtown she told me she had 2 appointments ahead of me. I was in shock so she told me to wait and in the middle of her doing a manicure to her first appointment she took me and did a fast pedicure. When I asked if they have similar type of nail polish, I just get while bunch of excuses about how I don't really need nail polish that can last 4 weeks without any chip or damage or how my nail is strong there's no need for that or their no chip is similar and lasts 2 weeks..... They don't even have the latest kind that you dip in the power kind of nail polish. I need nail polish that is strong and does not chip or scratch or anything because: 1. I ain't got time to come back every other week to do my nail 2. I do a lot of house chores and wash dishes and everything else in between, I need it to last long and not chip! Bottom line, only have your nail done by BiBi and try their nail polish to see if it wears off easily on you or not. I was inspired by turquoise stone, cow print, and bandana print, and my nail tech Kathy took my ideas and made them even better. She was also inspired by a cross and horseshoe from some of the photos I brought in and incorporated those details beautifully. Angel did my builder gel application, and Kathy did all of the artwork. They were both so patient and took their time to make sure everything turned out exactly right. The artwork is honestly amazing, and I absolutely love how my nails turned out! A few hours later, I arrived and Hanna was my nail tech. I got my old no chip/gel removed and replaced for $43. The color I chose was a deep burgundy, almost dark brown/purple, not too far from my usual preferred colors in the fall. It was ZGel 84 "Camp Ground." The salon was pretty full, and I was seated promptly at a station next to another client. There were two stations side by side that flanked the side wall. The other wall were pedicure chairs. This seemed like a popular place, and while it's not a hot-hand-towels sort of place, it was a good quality mani for a decent price. Hanna took her time and carefully filed and shaped my nails to the shaped I preferred, and was gently with my one broken nail that was a little shorter than the others. There are TVs with cooking shows playing (perfect, for me) and I was in/out without issue. I was satisfied with my mani and Bella Nora seems like a reliable salon! Judging by the good reviews (which is how I found and chose this place) and the quality of their services, I will be back!
