The spicy pork one was the best out of the ones we tried but it tasted like something was missing
    Jessica S.

I was really excited to try this place, so I was pretty disappointed. I've only tried it once, but we ordered the tuna, donkatsu, and spicy pork kimbap. The vegetables didn't taste sautéed at all. The carrots still tasted raw. The donkatsu had very little meat, and the sauce overpowered the entire kimbap. For three kimbap rolls costing over $30, it felt really underwhelming in both quality and taste. We couldn't even finish them and ended up cooking them in a pan with eggs at home just to make them taste better.

Straight outta Korea...must try. The wife tells me it feels like a restaurant in Seoul as we walk in and look at the menu. Clean and minimalist with a nice modern vibe. Of course the star of the show is Gimbap but the also have KStyle Fried Chicken, Pork Cutlet, ramen type noodles, rice bowls, and of course Tteokbokki to pare up with your Gimbap. Looks good. After reviewing all the options we settle on the Gimbap (Spicy Pork) & Tteobokki (spicy) combo and add on a Pork Cutlet Gimbap. They also have free anchovy soup/ broth and yellow radish for you to enjoy with your meal. Bill comes to $38 so it isn't cheap eats but on par with going out to eat these days. It takes approximately 10 mins for the food to come out so assume everything is made fresh.... The gimbap is tasty. I like both but prefer the pork cutlet. The tteokboki is also spot on and spicy. An enjoyable meal. We will make the drive to Fairfax again to try the other dishes for sure.

Decided to come here before my daughter's band concert. Saw the amazing reviews and decided to try this place out. Unfortunately, it was a miss. I ordered the chicken in garlic soy with lee gimbap and my daughter ordered the dumpling ramyum. The meals looked incredible, but the taste didnt reflect it. The gimbap appeared fresh, but the rice was hard and cold. The veggies tasted fresh. It was actually tough to chew with the nori pretty hard and dry and relatively lacking of flavor. The dumpling filling was a mushy mess and the broth tasted purely of red pepper flakes. The best part was the fried chicken pieces. Apparently the hot carafe is miso soup available for free; I didn't know until I watched the group of young fellas next to me filling and slurping up some bowls. Note that utensils and napkins are underneath each side table. This place just didn't do it for my daughter and I. Back to my hmart gimbap for me.

Came here for the second time yesterday and was so excited to get the same meal I got last time I came cause it was just that good. I got rice cake with ramyun. I ordered it but I wasn't paying attention when they repeated our order before paying and didn't realize they only heard me say rice cakes so when the food came out I only got the rice cakes and was so confused. However, they were soo so kind and they gave me some ramyun on the side which I really appreciated. There's free soup thats available while you wait for your meal. The food here is so flavorful it's definitely worth the price. I got my meal spicy and it's extremely spicy! I would say it's spicier than Buldak noodles. So be careful if you don't have a good spice tolerance. The restaurant is so clean and welcoming with plenty of seats and tables. I love this place and will definitely come back again for rabokki!

I had to try this place since it's a popular Korean franchise that started in Gangnam! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Food comes out quick and fresh. I love that there's a station for self-serve clear soup, pickled radish, water, and plates. Every table has drawers with utensils! My favorite things are the Korean style bibim Gimbap, Crab stick wasabi mayo Gimbap, and Rose Tteokbokki. I wished the tteokbokki was a bigger portion or less pricey. I've tried the Pork Cutlet and Spicy anchovy & nuts Gimbap also, but didn't love. The pork cutlet was a bit dry. The sauces are good, but not necessary. The panna cotta desserts are just okay - I would skip. I still like Myung Ga more, but this place is solid especially if you want more variety in kimbap!

Saw a couple of videos about this new spot on social media and decided to give it a try. Located in the same shopping center as many other notable Fairfax eateries, Lee Gimbap offers an extensive menu of specialty gimbap and other Korean staples. You place your order first, receive a buzzer, and then grab any available seat. There is a self serve station with water, miso soup, and radish side dishes. I ordered the Crispy Pork Cutlet, which came with slaw, rice, and fries. The portion size was generous and definitely shareable. To my surprise, it did not come with any sauce at first, so I purchased one from their sauce selection for 75 cents. About halfway through my meal, the server noticed I was eating the cutlet plain and let me know that it actually comes with tonkatsu sauce and that she had forgotten to bring it out. Prices are reasonable, but service could use some work.

I was interested to try out this new Kimbap/gimbap place because I love kimbap (even more than sushi). This restaurant opened up in Fairfax Centre, near the Walmart. The restaurant is very bright and modern - decorated with a mixture of wood/white walls and dark wood tables and chairs. Their menu has some variety of Korean street foods but we were there mainly for the kimbap! They have a description of what ingredients each kimbap has, to help you make your choice. They also have a self serve soup and unlimited amounts of pickled radishes at your convenience. My partner and I got the tuna kimbap, mushroom kimbap and the Lee kimbap. The tuna had too much mayo for me and the Lee kimbap was average/good. I liked the mushroom one the best bc it had the most flavor. The others weren't as flavorful and were a tad dry - some dipping sauce would've helped. I would come back and try the others to give it another chance. Recommend if you love kimbap bc they definitely have a great selection

If you're looking for a fast casual Korean restaurant with a clean and bright decor, try out Lee Gimbap. I was impressed with the variety of Gimbaps. We tried the Lee gimbap along with the Korean fish cake soup and spicy rabokki (ramen/tteokbokki). Gimbap tasted fresh and wish they came with one sauce to try. Maybe they can add a standard sauce to the self service station with the soup broth, green onions and pickled radishes. Korean fish cake soup tasted light and ingredients were fresh. Again, I wish they had some fresh wasabi or something we could put into the soup. On the other hand, the rabokki was plenty spicy so they had something for everyone including the kid's gimbap. The guy was nice about answering questions and the lady surprised us with a cup for the grand opening. Prices are more expensive than other places and portions on the smaller side; however, they don't prompt you for a tip given the cafeteria self-service. It's a good addition to the eating out scene in Fairfax. Pro tip: Utensils and napkins found in the pull out drawer at the side of the table.

    Jjagechi, tuna gimbap, bibim gimbap
    Lydia N.

This is a Korean street food lover's dream! The jjagechi was my favorite and it was fun trying different soda flavors and kimbaps. I loved the bibim gimbap, but the tuna one was on the dry side. I would've loved to try the tuna Gouda and see if it would've made a difference. There's a bar near the back for bowls, plates, and soup with toppings. Just be aware that they close fairly early (8pm).

This is the first location for Lee Gimbap in the U.S., and it's right here in Fairfax City. Lee Gimbap, as the name implies, specializes in kimbap. They have so many different varieties, and it was hard to choose, but this is what I tried: -Lee gimbap -Spicy pork gimbap -Korean style bibim gimbap They also serve Korean street food such as tteokbokki, and ramen. I tried the spicy rabokki and whew - it was spicy! It was served with a boiled egg and fish cakes. Overall, this is a great new addition in area for kimbap!

We were travelling through Fairfax VA and had a hankering for some Korean Street Food and stumbled upon Lee Gimbap. It was exactly what we needed. First a tuna fish gimbap - not exactly a traditional flavor, but somehow it called out to us. Thick, meaty tuna surrounded by fresh, crispy veggies, soft rice, and wrapped in seaweed, it hit the spot. But we also got Tteokbokki (spicy, of course!) with ramen noodles added to the mix. Perfect! Soft, chewy rice cakes, a hard boiled egg, and noodles dripping with spice. It was exactly the meal we needed. Lee Gimbap is on our list for places to visit when we're tooling around Fairfax. You should give it a try, too!

    SPICY PORK GIMBAP
    Mangala M.

Delicious and fresh GIMBAP! I wish I had tried this place sooner since it's so close to our house. We ordered the spicy pork and they had a deal for two for one. We also got the super veggie and the mushroom Bulgogi. I had actually ordered the mushroom Bulgogi for myself and started eating the spicy pork thinking it was mushroom. I do not like pork however this was sooooo good! My daughter really enjoyed it and packed the leftovers for lunch and it stayed fresh and the rice did not dry out. We will definitely be back again. I highly recommend you check them out.

Still good. Fast service, and clean establishment! Today the soup was a bit more saltier than usual, but otherwise no complaints! Please never go out of business

Great service (oddly they're all REALLY attractive Asian guys... save for the front desk girl - and I'm a straight, married, asian male), prices are great for the quality of meat and service you get (they cook for you) They come with the little appetizer plates like most Korean restaurants do, and they all have their own little twist to them, not super vanilla but still keeping to their roots and simple flavors. The green onion one was particularly memorable Our side dishes were excellent. Cheesy corn and seafood pancake. Both come out in cast iron pan, so it's piping hot and super fresh. Corn is hella cheesy and paired great with the appetizers. The seafood pancake was DENSE - really packed with seafood and not so much filler We got their combo so it came with kimchi soup and egg soufflé. The soup was very simple, very spicy. The soufflé was a nice contrast - light, fluffy, honestly almost felt like a desert. We definitely done made a mistake because for two of us, by this time the meats were ready to be cooked, we were about 60% full - and there were 4 meats to cook through We got brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, and another beef I don't remember - ended up taking about 1/3 of it home and half the pancake Our server was attentive and busy managing other tables so it's great to see all these guys staying sharp Considering how much food we took home, the bill was quite reasonable. Eyes were definitely bigger than our stomach this time tldr; fantastic kbbq served by ridiculous hot Asian guys. You need a reservation to get a table here

The meat quality here is extremely PREMIUM and every bite was super juicy, tender, and packed with flavor! I cannot stop thinking about the Baekdusan bulgogi because it was truly a savory MEAT MOUNTAIN. Our kind server gave us a pro tip to mix the sauce with rice. That completely changed the dish for me! The sauce soaking into the rice made it unbelievably rich and satisfying. I loved that the combos come with steamed egg and soybean paste stew, which were comforting sides alongside all the grilled meat and ban chan (kimchi, radish, etc) already at the table.
