I ordered a passion fizzled tea while my friend order the butter beer. It was hot after walking thru a whole day and it was nice to be chill and cool down here. The lines need to be more organized and need more booths to allow ordering to flow more seamless. Still the decor is nice and welcoming in the dark leaky cauldron. read more

Ugh as Harry Potter fans I wish I could've rated this higher but unfortunately I don't think the food is worth the price. The decor was spot on and the service was amazing but the food lacked a little flavor and they didn't have enough options. The decor is what really saved them. read more

We arrived at the restaurant and there were three women standing around talking. We attempted to go in and were told to go in one direction, but there was nowhere to order so we turned around went in the other direction to where we could see there were people with cash registers, and the ladies told us to turn back around go find a table and then order. It was very clear that they didn't really understand how to explain it and I'm not sure English was their first language, which is not the issue! I'm fine with multilingual people, but they need to be able to explain that you were supposed to sit down and order on the app from the table. That would've been fine. I attempted to order from the app a children's portion of fish and chips, but the app would not complete the order so I got up and headed back towards the cash register and only to find out that there is no children's portion of fish and chips anymore. This is extremely disappointing as while I am a full grown adult. I currently take medication that keeps me from being able to eat large portions of food. You need to figure out how to get your app up-to-date and working properly and have clear instructions for people who have never been to the restaurant before and don't know how the process goes. We didn't have to sit down and order from an app. We could've just gone to a cash register. I have no problem with modern technology, but instructions need to be clear when entering a place of business so that you know to expect it and how to work it. Very disappointed because all I wanted was some of those delicious fish and chips! read more

The draw of this restaurant, obviously, is for fans of Harry Potter. The interior decor and menu felt authentic to the book series. I ordered the scotch eggs, which were hard-boiled eggs wrapped in pork sausage, dusted with bread crumbs and fried. They were served with apple beet salad and mustard sauce. The eggs had a great texture and I was pleasantly surprised at the sweet and tart apple beet salad. I also ordered a butter beer because it felt only right. The portion size was adequate for the price, which was a little high but this is Universal, where they would charge you for air if they could get away with it. The food was prepared quickly and the servers were friendly. It was a good experience to eat at The Leaky Cauldron but nothing I feel I would need to do again. read more

The food tastes as I imagine. While I enjoyed my fish and chips, I had a desire for more flavor. The quality of the food was good but slightly lacked seasoning. Alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages are available. The layout is bench and table style setting. Place your order at the screen or with a staff and the servers brings your food. I would highly recommend the Leaky Cauldron if you are looking for a quick meal in Harry Potter World. When we came for lunch around 11, there were several empty tables and we sat down right away. It was very easy to order on the app. I got the fish and chips, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. I also ordered the pumpkin juice. Honestly, I thought everything was pretty reasonably priced for a themed sit-down restaurant at Universal. The food came out quickly and was pretty tasty. read more

The food options here are better than others. We got salad and the seafood pie. Serving sizes are small but quality is there. Preferred over some of the fried options for sure. You have to get in the line to get a table then order from your table. Alcohol drink service was slow. read more

This was the first Harry Potter-theme restaurant that my husband and I went to. We had prepaid breakfast tickets as a part of our vacation bundle. They had a staff who screened and directed everyone. Since I had the prepaid breakfast tickets, I had to go to the counter. It was easy to order. The staff did their job. The food was good. I had the English breakfast platter and it was a lot of food! I totally would order it again. Overall, I would come here again. I would like to try lunch and dinner in the future. read more

Not worth the wait! Took almost an hour to even be seated, even then the workers don't tell you how to order. There is a QR code you can scan but it hardly works and took me to a different website you couldn't order anything on. Finally went up to the counter to order not knowing they needed a number on the table that you could barely notice! Lady was rude and yelled at me, eventually went back and got the number for. Kids fish and chips were 10 dollars not including tax. Of course the workers lost my order ticket so it took almost another hour to get food. The food wasn't bad but not worth 10 dollars for 1-2 fish and a handful of chips. The place isn't bad looking just pretty bland for trying to be immersive. read more

I came to Universal one day with an out of town friend. We lucked out, the park was decently empty, and we got on a lot of rides, didn't wait in too long of lines, and ended up with some time to kill. In that time, we were hungry and got some lunch. So we came to the Leaky Cauldron. Where else would a couple of wily Slytherins get a bite to eat? So we got in line, looked at the menus, decided what to get, and got seated. The way this place gets people in and out in a hurry is actually pretty impressive. Hurried service, but the staff was all very nice. No issues. As for the ambiance, well you're in a castle-esque structure. Towering ceilings, giant blocks as walls with pictures and posters hanging askew as the décor, old school looking tables and stools, it's all themed very well. As for the food, I ordered the Beef, Lamb & Guinness Stew (Served in a warm, crusty bread bowl). I couldn't turn down a bead bowl. I never can. The stew itself tasted very good, and it's overflowing out of the bread bowl, feigning that there's a heap of food inside, but alas, there was not. The bread bowl itself was certainly crusty, as advertised, but it was all crust, no soft. The stew did not readily get sopped by the bread bowl, which I thought was strange. But anyway, before I go down a rabbit hole, let's just leave it as this place was good. Would return. read more

I was soooo excited to eat a this restaurant, or any Harry Potter themed restaurant really. The line to enter was long and requires some app work, but once we were in service was quick. I knew it was a quick service stop, so didn't expect to be wowed. I was wowed. The decor was amazing and felt like I was in the Leaky cauldron from the movies. The faux stone walls and archways were beautiful. I had the mini pie combo which contained the fisherman's pie and the cottage pie-they were good. Tasty, but not extremely rich. The start of the show however, was the butter beer. It was amazinggggg and exactly like I imagined. The perfect combination of sweet and rich. Made the whole meal worth it! read more

was looking forward to a Harry Potter lunch and was extremely disappointed by everything except the butter beer. The chicken was almost edible over salted and nobody liked it. The fish and chips were decent but tasted more like fish sticks than fish and chips definitely came right out of a bag. I get it that it's a Harry Potter thing but at these prices they absolutely have to improve the quality of the food the chicken was basically a small lump of meat with a piece of cheese melted on it and a strip of bacon on top. As I mentioned before it was so overalled it was practically inedible. The frozen butter beer was the clear winner here with the regular butter beer coming in a close second. read more

LOVED the cottage pie! Fed both me and my bf and we were very impressed. Of course the ambience here is lovely and just like the movies! It is not faster or easier to use your phone to place your order, unless you're an expert at that kind of thing. It took us like a half hour to order. Thankfully it's nicely air conditioned, as it was about a thousand degrees every day that we were in Orlando. I probably shouldn't complain, as we were in Florida during Hurricane Helene but she didn't bother us a bit. The fish and chips were a hit with both Jeremy and his 12-year-old brother. The butterbeer did not hit with the kid, though. I had the banger sandwich, which came with roasted tomatoes, mustard and a delicate saurekraut. The bun broke in half immediately, but that worked to my advantage because it was too much food for me, especially in that heat, so I shared with both Jeremy and his dad- who raved about the bread. The seafood potpie was a miss. I could have drank the fizzy lemonade until the end of time. It's so incredibly refreshing. Never thought I would find myself eating an actual meal in the hogwarts dining hall. Freaking incredible. If you have wizards in your family this is a must. Make those memories! read more

Fast food but not! You order in line and when you get seated, on the app, you place your order. The worker assigns you a table and you wait about 20 minutes for your food. I ordered the fish and chips along with the mash and bangers. The r sausage in the bangers were sooo delicious. The mash potatoes tasted like packaged mash. As for the fish and chips, it was very crispy and there were lots of fish pieces! It came with a side of tartare. We also got a butter beer which is a must at Harry Potter world! One negative thing is that everything is plastic. All the cups, utensils, and plates. I mean it makes sense cause it will speed up the service but for a dine in, I expected regular plates. Definitely not a deal breaker, but lots of plastic waste. :( Would I come back? Yes! Get the bangers and mash! I didn't get to try any dessert because I wanted to get ice cream outside! The Leaky Cauldron was a beautiful spot to recharge and get a filling meal. From the very first step inside, you are placed into a whole other world. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has tons of seating. I ordered the fish & chips entree which was about $18 and was a very good meal for the price and food thats offered at Universal. If you're trying to eat out at universal on a budget, Id say this is a great spot to find a filling lower priced meal. Especially because I shared and it was surprisingly filling for splitting it among 2 people. The fish came out nice and hot and had a nice crisp to it. The fries were a bit cold but the sauce that it came with made it delicious. The sauce was truly the star of the entire dish as it enhanced the flavors of everything else. The butter beer and beer were both good as well. Even with the large crowd, the service was pretty quick. Took about 10 minutes or so to be seated (there was a line) and another 10 minutes for our food to come out. read more

Love me some leaky cauldron! With the amazing decorations to details inside this place is it! Anytime we come to Universal we buy tickets for breakfast. You get to pick a meal and it comes with a drink. To eat we had the following: Egg, Leek, & Mushroom Pastry: this was the first time trying it and it was amazing. Egg mushroom & leek is wrapped in a puff pastry. The pastry was nice and flaky and paired really well with the eggs it seriously was a favorite. It comes with a variety of fresh fruit and breakfast potatoes. The potatoes are seasoned very well. When you order you are given a candle with a number and someone sits you inside. And from there someone brings you the food to enjoy. This place is a must visit! we always come here and enjoy breakfast. read more

Enjoyed a great breakfast here and would definitely do it again. What drew us in is the "Traditional English Breakfast" - a hearty and filling dish that comes with eggs, English bacon (less fat more meat) , grilled tomato, mushrooms, a flaky croissant and a coffee. It costs $20 but it's worth it. Kept me full until dinner. I also tried the Scotch egg which was delicious. There's amble seating and the ambience is 110% Harry Potter. The Bangers & Mash, according to my wife and youngest daughter was "banging." The Banger Sandwich, according to my older daughter, was also banging. The Hunter's Chicken was disappointing, both in quantity and quality. I would definitely not order it again. The service is non-descript--order in the app and they bring it to you. The ambiance was lacking--long tables with communal seating. If it's up to me, we will not be back. By comparison, it does not hold a candle to Three Brooms that we ate at yesterday. read more

Ah, finally got to eat at the famous Leaky Cauldron! Tom the bartender wasn't there, but we made do. The interior was well designed to look and feel just like the movie version of the famous pub and hotel. They play music and sound effects inside to help with the ambiance as well. Universal has shifted to a mostly app based dining experience, meaning you have to download the app and set up payment in order to have the best experience. You can still order and pay at a register, but it's much slower. First they seat you based on party size, then you scan the QR code and order, or enter your table number as part of the process. We ate here several times over the course of our vacation. Of note, their breakfast has some unique options only available here and not in Hogsmeade. Also of note is that breakfast here includes a free drink, so you don't have to pay extra for a butter beer. If you want multiple drinks, just select the most expensive one as part of your meal and then add on the cheaper one. Note that this is only for breakfast. And you have to add the complimentary water separately, you can't just ask the servers. The food is actually pretty good, and not just by theme park standards. Universal had time to figure these out and they've done well. The fish and chips are pretty standard, but tasty. My wife liked the pies as well, it was nice touch to allow people to try two types of pies in one meal. The drinks are good, sugary as expected at a theme park, but a bit pricey. While I liked the orange fizzy drink, I don't think I liked it enough for get again. The butter beer is a sure thing and the pear cider is actually a better and cheaper option if you don't want another butter beer. Overall we loved the experience. read more

Ate here during our four park days at Universal. I highly suggest looking over the menu before jumping in line to get a table, because they have some unique offerings if you're a Harry Potter fan you'll definitely enjoy it. We waited in a line to get seated at a table. You will be more than likely seated near strangers. If you're looking for spread out tables this isn't for you. There are some available but more for the larger groups or if you get lucky. We ordered our meal on the universal app and scanned the QR code at our table then they brought our food out. There are no muggle options for beverages (Coke, etc.)! Just wizard offerings (butterbeer, and other wizard bevs), so don't try and order a regular soda here. My girlfriend and I got the fish and chips with butterbeers. Butterbeer is fantastic it's like a butterscotch crème soda with a creamy foam at the top that is absolutely delicious. The fish and chips were super fresh and really tasty! Only complaint, we needed more tartar sauce. All the offerings here are on the hearty side, so you should give yourself a little time after your meal before walking in the heat or riding a ride afterwords to let your stomach settle. For vegetarian options in Universal, the Shepherd's Pasty Pie is a great dish. It's very filling and a good size. The fries are tasty, and the beets are a fresh complement to the pasty pie. I also ordered the butterbeer, which is refreshing and a great option! It tastes like liquid butterscotch. The ambiance of the Leaky Cauldron is fun and a nice place to sit to enjoy the theming. Although it was packed when we were there, you have enough space to feel like you have some breathing room away from the crowds. We had breakfast there two days in a row and it was outstanding! Love the atmosphere and the food. We can't wait to come back.

I was truly surprised by the food here. I was frankly expecting really crappy food like you'd expect. I'm not sure if I just came at a good time or got lucky with the cook crew that day, but the food was great, the service was fast, and the experience was pretty great overall. The ONLY reason I'm giving this a 4 star rating is because the mobile ordering thing was kind of an inconvenience and not having an actual wait staff to ask questions to turned dining into more of a guessing game. Also, the person outside greeting guests and directing the line stopped every group before entering to ask if they had the mobile ordering app and offered an explanation of how it all worked. This slowed the process. A sign or a few signs explaining the app instead would help the "hostess" get more people through the door faster. NOTE: Download the Universal Studio app - this will give you mobile ordering abilities plus other park info that can really help find things during your day(s). Food: I got the Ploughman's (1 serving not 2) - it was AMAZING! It was like a charcuterie board with fun cheeses, lettuce, roasted tomatoes, and a beyond-delicious Scotch Egg! I also got the Fishy Green Ale - super fun tasting and a little weird. I'm glad I got it but would rather get Butterbeer or Pumpkin Juice. My mom got the child sized Fish & Chips - the kid's size was great; filling but not so filling that we didn't have room left for more butterbeer and cheaper. Everything was hot and fresh! Atmosphere: It felt like dining in a scene from Harry Potter or a great British lord's hall. It was magical and busy/crowded but not tight. Once you get in and find a seat, look up and around and enjoy the details of the room. Service: Though the staff never really directly worked with us outside of delivering our food and drinks, they were quick. The table next to us was finished and left and within 1-2 min there was a staff member clearing, cleaning, and sanitizing the table. I saw this quick turnover many times during our dining time and was rather impressed. I would absolutely visit the Leaky Caldron again if I could :) read more

The experience eating here was glorious! Having toured Ireland for a month, I love good Fish & Chips. Their Fish & Chips is yummy! Just the right amount of crisp! I ordered the child size. It was perfect for filling me up, but not making me need a nap! The four stars is due to the app requirement for ordering. My daughter, whom is very tech savvy, struggled a bit getting our order squared away. The entire process used up a bit of our battery life! Battery life we needed for taking pictures later! BTW- the Butter Beer is a must have in the Harry Potter World! It is one of the most amazing things I have ever been surprised by! And, even though it was HOT outside, the Butter Beer stayed frozen to the last drop! It defied all science to remain frozen... LOVE BUTTER BEER!!!! Note: I suggest you create signs in the area while you wait providing directions to the app and ordering! Then you would not have to hand out post cards with the directions to everyone! It would speed up the line significantly! And, people would not waste so much time monopolizing tables trying to figure out the app! Thanks for a great experience! Most Sincerely!!! read more

I have to say that I love their menu as it lists all of the different allergens and dietary restrictions you need to be aware of for each meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is 10/10. It definitely makes you feel like you're actually there. At night, it's a bit dim and moody, which i loved. The decor is also on point! The service was pretty quick and the interaction with the staff is very limited. We got the: - Fish & Chips: Fresh north Atlantic cod battered and fried with chips and tartar sauce. - Mini Pie Combination: Mini cottage pie and mini fisherman's pie served with garden salad. Fisherman's pie: Salmon, shrimp and cod baked together under a potato crust and Cottage pie: Savory combination of beef and chunky vegetables in a potato crust. - Hot Butterbeer: by far the best version of the drink and was definitely needed as it was cold and a bit rainy when we went. We stopped in for breakfast, and I ordered the American breakfast (eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and a buttered croissant). I told them I have a gluten and dairy allergy, so I didn't need the butter croissant. The person taking my order said it was a requirement for him to get the chef when there are allergies. I'm glad it wasn't crowded when we got there (we showed up towards the end of breakfast time), but this felt unnecessary - especially during peak hours. The chef was so kind and told me she would make my meal to prevent any cross-contamination. Great! The only bummer was that the rest of our table's food was ready immediately, so theirs was getting cold while waiting for mine. Once my food was ready, she told me she couldn't give me eggs since they were made with sour cream, so she gave me extra potatoes. So I ended up with half a plate of potatoes, 2 sausage links and some bacon. I was grateful they went out of the way to prevent cross-contamination, but it would have been helpful to know my egg breakfast was going to be a big plate of greasy potatoes. If I had known that, I would have ordered oatmeal to give me a little more substance before walking around a hot park all day. It seems silly that they couldn't prepare eggs without sour cream or give me a heads up BEFORE I finished placing my order. Other than that, the food was decent for a theme park. We decided it was a better bang for our buck (and a better meal) to eat breakfast before we got to the park the next day. read more
