Tried the burning cheddar bites and they were just okay to me. 3.2/5 I was not too excited about these cheddar bites as I'm not the biggest fan of cheese. My sister was super excited to try them and it was a little hard finding the place as it was in the back of the land. We were confused about where to enter and entered through a semi-hidden path to the backside where we ordered the food through a window. The bites were $12 and came with a Sriracha-ranch dressing. I unfortunately did not like the Jalapeño cheddar bites. I thought it was just a ball of cheeseand the sauce didn't make it any better for me. The cheese wasn't that melted inside either making it pretty solid. Wish I tried the garlic stake but that was also nearly $13 and too expensive for 2 snacks. For $12, I think it's a miss for me. I will say my sister enjoyed the bites and thought they were decent though expensive. The tavern was also well themed with the land and I liked how the drinks were like potions and glowing.
Got some food through mobile order as a lunchtime snack; it was pretty quick from ordering to getting the food. Seating - there are 3 tables. Find someplace else, because there's a low chance you'd ever get a table for yourself or your group. It's definitely more of a 'fast-food' experience: order your food on the app, pick up your food, and find somewhere outside to sit. There are a few benches around the immediate area, but it's mostly in the sun depending on when you get there. You do get a view of the monster coaster right across the way, so that's kind of cool. Ordered the Burning Cheddar Bites, Charred Loaded Potato, and Hunter's Garlic Steak. Overall, the food wasn't great. We wanted to try to 'eat our way through the park,' eating some of the more 'popular' or 'trendy' foods in some of the major areas, but that was somewhat disappointing. We'd definitely try somewhere else before coming back here, but that's just our personal preference. Want more than 'just okay'. Cheddar bites - 4/5. Was the best thing they had. The cheese inside had good flavor and was still very warm when we sat down, and the 'charred' outside, where it was all black, didn't taste bad either. It had a different taste, but it really added to it. Charred Loaded Potato - 2.5/5 (after lots of add-ins). We had to add so much salt and pepper just to make this a decent baked potato. Which was very disappointing, because it takes a lot of work to make a BAD baked potato. The potato needed more flavor, and it needed more fixings too. Hunter's Garlic Stake - 3.5/5. Not too bad, just a breadstick with lots of garlic and parmesan on it. I wish the breadstick had more flavor, though. The dipping sauce was great. Probably won't come back, but it was a decent first-time experience. I would go back for the cheddar bites if there was extra time.
Well, I loved it. First of all, the actual burning blades outside are so freaking cool. Especially if you are a fan of Frankenstein, particularly the novels. It really gives you a tinge of that feeling we all try to capture when we want to dive into the world of a book. There is a large circular high top table in the center of this dark, seedy-feeling tavern. I posted up and chatted away with other Universal nerds! Love yas. I enjoyed the ambiance, the service, and loved the garlic stake pretzel. It hit the spot, fueled me for a few more hours, and protected me from Daddy Dracula and his charm. The bartender (Danielle or Daniella, I can't recall) was super helpful in choosing this gin cocktail! I liked it. It was light, refreshing, and bright. Simply due to ambiance, I really liked this spot!

I ordered the garlic bread immediately--not because I was hungry, but because you don't wander into a monster-infested village unprotected. Call it carbs. Call it folklore. Call it survival instincts. Either way, it was the right move: hot, indulgent, and aggressively aromatic enough to keep any self-respecting vampire six feet back. Now let's talk theming, because this place doesn't dabble--it commits arson. Burning Blade Tavern feels like a medieval hideout where villagers once decided, collectively, "Enough is enough--light the torches." Wood beams, iron, firelight, and the kind of atmosphere that smells like smoke, rebellion, and bad decisions made after sundown. And then there are the cast members--not employees, not staff, but fully activated villagers. These people don't just take orders; they interact, banter, stay in character, and pull you deeper into the story. You're not a guest--you're a local, and something terrible might be happening outside. They make eye contact. They joke. They warn you. It's immersive without being cringe, theatrical without being forced. This is one of those places where you realize Universal has learned something critical: Food locations can be attractions.
If you're hanging out in Darkmoor, you have to stop by The Burning Blade. Standing outside to watch the "fire show" on the windmill is an absolute highlight-it's awesome to see it ignite and then roar back to life. Inside, the vibe is just as cool. I managed to snag one of the color-changing souvenir glasses, which is a fantastic keepsake. For around $22, I got a decently strong smoking cocktail and the glass to take home, honestly not a bad deal for a theme park! To eat, the Garlic Steak Bread was the perfect "bar-style" bite. It's not exactly cheap, but it's high-quality comfort food that's great for a quick, savory snack. Pro Tip: Don't believe the rumors-they do not have the same menu as Das Stakehaus, or "to-go" options from that menu. They have their own unique, separate menu which all can be to go. Overall, this was my favorite food spot in the Dark Universe. Great service, killer view, and interesting drinks!
I had heard a lot about the garlic roll at Burning Blade so I knew it was one of my "must do's" while at EPIC Universe. The outside of this bar/snack location is really cool looking, especially when the blades ignite on fire. Upon entering, it is pretty dark and does seem like a place where ne'er-do-wells may lurk. As with most places at EPIC, it can be confusing on how to order. Do I go up to the bartender? Do I use mobile order? Apparently at the tavern, the answer can be "both". The bartender was very helpful and took my drink order and then told me to mobile order any food and pick it up at the window outside. He was funny, too, and gave the history of the Monocane mocktail I ordered. I then placed a mobile order for the Hunter's Garlic Stake. It was ready quickly and then my husband and I stood by the windmill table in the center of the tavern. I do wish there was more seating as our legs were tired after standing and walking all day. The Monocane comes in a fun plastic chemistry beaker and contains pineapple syrup, blue raspberry syrup, passion fruit syrup, Sprite and emerald prism powder. I think my first mistake was seeing the fruit flavors and thinking "juice" instead of syrup. Because while the drink looked really good - a swirling green color - it did not taste good to me at all. It was super sweet (from all the syrups) and tasted a bit fake/wrong as well (I'm sure from the multiple syrups). I tried to suck it down but I could only take several sips before I had to stop. Luckily, because it was so hot out, the bartenders had a whole bunch of iced water cups so we took those. The Garlic Stake however... that was amazing! Crunchy and loaded with garlic, and so yummy. I didn't even think it needed the accompanying garlic sauce. I pretty much ate the whole thing myself, it was so good.

It was ok, but I was expecting more. I will start with the negatives the the blades were not on the windmill and there is a huge lack of seating and garbage cans. Instead of this place getting a 3, the food and drinks made up for it and turned it into a 4. The cheese bites were surprisingly excellent and I enjoyed by Monocane which was a real fun non alcoholic option. I was expecting a little more from the garlic stake, but it was good enough. Fast service too which is a nice touch, especially for a theme park. I'll come back, but my bar has been lowered
I cannot lie. This place gets a 5/5 for numerous reasons. I have been here a few times now and loved every experience. The staff is so incredibly nice and you don't feel rushed. The drinks are fricken delicious! I have had the non-alcoholic Monocane in the souvenir beaker! Super refreshing and such a fun drink for kids and non-drinkers. I have also had the Lagoon'ita and it is one of my favorites! Haven't had a bad one in my opinion. And the foods we tried were yummy too! I do feel like the garlic stake is a tad on the too much garlic side, but it was still good in my opinion. Maybe would be better with a marinara sauce instead of more garlic butter?
Came here for the Hunter's Garlic Stake since I've seen it on a bunch of TikToks and reels. It was a super garlicky pretzel and it was AMAZING. When you walk in, the atmosphere is cold and dark, much like what you'd expect from an old medieval style tavern. Seriously, entering through the doors felt like traveling through time, except for the modern registers and taps of course. A character approached my wife and me and explained the different creatures to look out for. The most memorable was the chorpion: a cross between a chicken and a scorpion. Another was a leech that wouldn't let go, and his favorite trophy on the wall was the one on the far left. The smallest creature on there, which was a freshwater siren. Overall, a very memorable experience.
It is very hard to get a place to sit or even to find a place to set your food down. Definitely more of a grab and go set up. I recommend just walking up and ordering because you will get your food in the same amount of time that you will for your mobile order. The garlic steak bread with cheese sauce is VERY garlicky, I loved it and recommend it and also recommend a mint after. The burned cheese bites here just okay, I would skip them and the Siraha ranch next time around. My friends said the drinks were STRONG and the test tubes where to hard to hold while also eating and trying to hold the food.
The drinks here are ok, but nothing to keep coming back for. Truthfully, I enjoyed the mock tail. I got much more than the three cocktails I have tried. The cocktails are super strong, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but be warned lol! Ultimately, it is a good spot if you want to get a cocktail, but it's not somewhere I would go specifically for the drinks if I wasn't already drinking anyway. I was really excited to try the garlic pretzel thing and that was a big letdown for me... But it was definitely a cute little aesthetic snack for them to have here. Service has always been friendly and quick for me.
Maybe the best food we had at Epic! Following the internets lead, we ordered the pimento cheese balls (the black nuggets) and the garlic stake. Both were good- but the flavor was amazing when dipped in the garlic butter. Mocktail was in a fun chemistry flask- and only $13, with the souvenir cup. My husband got a beer. Would definitely recommend!

If you eat anything in Epic Universe- get the Hunter's Garlic Stake!! I stopped in the Burning Blade Tavern just for this. While the drinks also looked great and fun, I had a one track mind to get the Hunter's Garlic Stake and was not disappointed. The pretzel stake is a great size for sharing or, in my case, one very hungry girl. The garlic butter on the side was good as well, my only wish is that it was warm instead of room temperature. I also received the food in record time- only waiting about a minute for the bartender to grab it. The inside of the tavern was also a great vibe, with the dark atmosphere and even some team members walking around in character to talk about vampires and hunting. That was easily one of my highlights, other than the food of course. Just be prepared, after eating the Hunter's Garlic Stake, don't go kissing any vampires! That garlic stays on your breath for a bit. read more

I should have waited a few more hours in the afternoon instead of coming around 11:00 A.M to The Burning Blade Tavern after a few rides! This is sort of hidden, but you can find the main entrance towards the left of the Monsters ride. The windmill does catch on fire several times throughout the day, which is pretty cool. When my husband and I stopped inside The Burning Blade Tavern, no one was inside it and we were actually the first customers! The theme of this restaurant is so cool. The inside is monsters themed and all of the tables are decorated like you're inside a medieval tavern. This is a quick service location. Some of the menu items you can get here include the burning cheddar bites, the pyre dip, and some unique specialty drinks. We ended up getting the Hunter's Garlic Stake. It was a crispy garlic butter pretzel with garlic dipping sauce. Unfortunately the Hunter's Garlic Stake had been sitting out for awhile and it was cold. It was decent, but it would have been absolutely amazing if it was cooked fresh and hot! I will come back here again during my next Epic Universe trip, and during the afternoon so I can get a fresh Hunter's Garlic Stake! Service was quick though, we didn't wait at all for the food. read more

A nice little bar that should have way more seating but this is more of a stand and drink your stuff quick, enjoy the atmosphere and then leave to enjoy the rest of the park. The staff here was incredibly friendly and really get into the theming of the bar. They even pointed out a few little oddities on some shelves while they were pouring our drinks. There are a couple beers here that you can only buy at this location and the beer that I had was dark and very rich in flavor. Prices are reasonable, the beer being a bit more than $13 dollars. I really enjoyed they also have a few things to grab for snacks but nothing stood out to me enough to buy. The staff was friendly, the drinks were good and the prices are reasonable enough. One place I would pop into again to get photos but probably wouldn't buy anything from again if I stop by. read more

I knew this was a premier snack/ drink spot to stop at in Epic Universe, but did not realize it'd become one of my favorite of those spots in the whole park! The Burning Blade Tavern is spooky and dark and ominous and oh so cool. Yes, the windmill does literally catch on fire several times an hour, so the "burning blade" part of the name is genuine. It's a pretty neat stunt and worth hanging out to see. And once you walk inside, the ghouls come out to party. There are various table to stand at, a bar to order drinks, and monster heads decorating the walls- seriously. They recommend you order on the app, and if you want food that's the only option to get it. You can order drinks at the bar if that's all you're going for, however. One of the other main reasons we stopped here was to try the Monocane Mocktail- the electric green drink inspired by the one Mr. Invisible takes in the old classic movie to turn invisible. It's a great nonalcoholic option that you can also get in a novelty plastic beaker glass that you get to keep. You can get it in a regular cup too for a little cheaper, but that just takes away some of the fun. Many have said the mocktail tastes similar to a baja blast, and I would agree. It's definitely super sugary but a really great tasting drink. We also tried the infamous Hunter's garlic stake pretzel and really enjoyed it. It's more of that thick German pretzel style, and it was loaded with garlic and delicious to eat and ward off any lurking vampires. ;) The only possible problem I could see with this place is in the food ordering system. You order on the app and the only place to pick up your food is the outside pickup window. Fortunately it wasn't real busy when we went but I could see this being kind of awful when the park gets more packed- just waiting outside in the heat for your food. read more

I was very excited to try the Hunter's Garlic Stake as an avid garlic lover, but maybe there is a line I can't cross. I love the theming/shape of the pretzel and it was definitely very garlicky. The sauce it came with was cold, so it didn't pair well with the nicely warm pretzel. I believe the garlic they have on the pretzel is still more raw, which really packs a garlic punch to your tastebuds. It just may not be for me, but definitely make sure that you have mints after trying it! The decor was also very cool with heads of the monsters that hunters claimed as trophies. read more

The Internet food review are accurate, the $11.99 Hunter's Garlic Stake is absolutely worth it. I normally don't like pretzels at all at parks because they're hard, bland, and a rip off. This one however, is much different. The dipping sauce, and flavors are perfect. I will say it is a little weird, that you order drinks at the bar, but not food. To order food you must go onto the app and place the order, then they'll start your food order. For the drink, I tried the $12 Monocane (dat green drank). There's no alcohol in it, but it does look great for pics. I probably wouldn't order this again, but I did enjoy the flask and bubbly experience. A/C is BLASTED in here. Great on a hot day. read more

While in Darkmoor, my husband and I needed a quick snack, so we went to The Burning Blade. We had seen the Garlic Stake on social media, so we had to try it...and the Cheese Bites sounded good, so we added that to our order. Wow!! What a treat! Add a Pure of Heart drink and you have a perfect pairing. The place gives off old school horror vibes and has amazing decor. The staff is also very friendly and stayed in-character, which was fun. There isn't a lot of seating inside, so standing at a table to eat wasn't ideal (it was raining that day), but it fit the atmosphere of the "universe" we were supposed to be in. read more

The Burning Blade Tavern is located in the brand new theme park, Epic Universe. It is in the Dark Universe Portal, towards the back of the portal. If you walk past the giant castle, and stay to the left, you will walk right into it. It is very far in the back of the actual portal. They are a bar with a few tables inside. They also serve food but it is confusing, you actually cannot order drinks and food together. The food is outside and the drinks inside at the bar. We really enjoyed this stop. We will stop here every time we visit. Their drinks were great and the food was so much better. I would say probably my favorite in the park. The concept behind this spot is an old mill which Darkmoor Village monster hunters have transformed into their hangout. They at times have a character walking around, talking to people, teaching you the toast of the village and more. The bartenders are always in character as well. They have a few tables inside and then about 5 outside by the food, but most people seemed to get their drinks to go. If there is a lounge in a park, we are stopping there and sitting in there! For food you need to head outside, order on the mobile app and pick up your food. They have a variety of options including a loaded baked potato (we were so full but we wanted to try this so bad, next time), grill chicken on garlic naan or a burger on a black potato bun. We didn't try these but we definitely want to head back and get them. What we ordered was the Hunter's Garlic Stake which is a crispy garlic butter pretzel with garlic dipping sauce and the Burning Cheddar Bites which were crispy fried jalapeño pimento cheddar bites with sriracha ranch. We were with a group and couldn't grab a photo of the cheddar bites but they look like small round pieces of coal. They are a solid black and inside is a gooey, cheesy pimento inside. These were delicious! I loved them and really didn't want to share them with our group of friends. This was the perfect snack. The garlic stake had mixed reviews with our friends. They did not like it all saying their pretzel was hard. However, my wife and I loved this. It was a garlic pretzel stick with a garlic butter dipping sauce. A lot of people are comparing it to Papa Johns sauce but I disagree. The sauce here was much thinner, more of a butter sauce. You need the dipping sauce. Our pretzel was a little crispy on the sides but a majority of the pretzel was soft. We loved it. We tasted garlic ALL day. I would very much prepare for that. For drinks, my wife ended up ordering the same thing both time we visited. She stuck with the "Lagoon'ita" which had Bacardi Superior, Pallini limoncello, lime, blackberry purée, blackberries and mint sprig. It was refreshing and very dangerous since you did not taste the alcohol but it was strong, it hit you all of a sudden. I tried the "My Only Weakness" which was Hayman's London Dry gin, Aperol, Bols cherry brandy, lemon juice, simple syrup, Angostura aromatic bitters, Angostura orange bitters, soda water, topped with a lemon wheel and a cherry. This was good. I loved it a lot but it wasn't my persona favorite. It had a strong Gin taste. I also ordered a secret drink which was called a Smoking Jacket. This is named after the Invisible Man's jacket because the color is very similar! It was very good, had a nice fruity flavor to it. My only issue with this location is the tables and chairs. We went during the previews and the tables were so wobbly if you put even the slightest pressure on the side, it would completely fall over. I'm not sure if that was intended or if they were already broken but I almost flipped tables on accident a couple of times. I also hate the seats. They are hard and actually left deep grooves in the back of my legs and our friends legs. They are not comfortable at all. My only other issue is no one is cleaning the tables. People are being messy and dirty (which shame on them), they are not taking their trash to the trash can, they just leave it on the tables. First and foremost, clean up after yourself. Like come on, don't be messy. But also no one is wiping tables. The tables are sticky and full of crumbs and trash. The second time we came here we were able to grab a table by the bar and it was full of trash, pushed over to the side. We also had a table that was full of food pieces and was so sticky, we actually moved. There is also no rim or reason to the lines, they just sort of form. Besides that I would definitely recommend this stop. It is themed so well and has such great food and drinks. I cannot believe they are pumping out so much food from a tiny kitchen attached to the bar. This is more of a quick service and therefore need more tables. I would 100% add to this to you list even if you just go read more

I was so excited to visit The Burning Blade Tavern at Epic Universe and it did not disappoint!! When you first walk in, yours eyes have to adjust especially in the daytime since it's dark inside. That's a great adjustment on a hot day, especially the A/C inside. However, it is small inside so on a busy park day, it may be difficult to even get inside. Most of the tables are standing only inside with a few sit down ones so keep that in mind if you want to sit, and relax. They also have a live actor who interacts with everyone inside that hunts monsters and he was a great addition to make it feel even more immersive! I decided to order the grilled chicken stake from the mobile order kiosk and pickup on the outside window. There is a few seats outside as well as railing to prop your stuff on that is shaded while you enjoy a snack. The food was cooked quickly and pickup was a breeze. Now the grilled chicken stake was a fantastic snack! It was well priced at around 12 dollars, and it included a stake of grilled chicken, a large pita, chopped lettuce, and a really spicy but flavorful green salsa type sauce sauce, and a tzatziki type sauce. It had a great kick but it was also refreshing on a hot day. The portion size was also fantastic especially for the price. I would definitely order again! One cannot miss detail is when stepping outside of the tavern, you must see the windmill burning up which occurs every 15 minutes. read more
