    Darkmoor Black Wings
    Micah E.

Das Stakehaus in Universal's Epic Universe offers a unique horror dining experience that stands out because of the dark The restaurant has a dark castle dining experience to where even the lights flicker red. A mix of intimate booths and spacious tables accommodates both couples and larger groups. You order by QR code at the table so food comes out fast but also you have to go fill your own drink. The highlight of the food was the Darkmoor Black Wings which had a wild jerk chicken chili sauce flavor. It only came with two wings but wanted more. Dining at Das Stakehaus is a delightful escape from the busy park atmosphere with great air conditioning . If you want to relax and have great park themed food this is the one for you.

Located inside the Dark Universe at Universal Epic Universe, Das Stakehaus is an old inn and dining hall built over the ruins of ancient catacombs where my partner and I decided to grab lunch. It's a brilliant concept that evokes the vibe of a vampire hangout. It features numerous paintings depicting the world of vampires from their perspective, portraying them as heroes in their own stories. The artwork also showcases aspects of Darkmoor's history and architecture. Once you stepped inside this establishment, one stepped into a very dark world. No, really. It was super dark in here, and your eyes might have a hard time at first adjusting from the intense bright light outside to the dark. One will find plenty of seating inside with tables and chairs across a few dining sections. Everything here is a mobile order. Once seated at a table, scan the QR code there, order your food, and that's it. The menu consists of burgers, kebabs, sandwiches, and more with a vampire twist. We decided on Bits And Pieces (meatloaf) and Craved Staked Steak. They were accompanied by acorn squash and mashed potatoes. Our meal was flavorful, with the steak being tender and the meatloaf moist. The service was quick. It's overpriced, but remember you're in a theme park! The staff went above and beyond by cleaning the tables after each use. We have to give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 for theming because the gothic vibe is SO strong here. It's a really fun place to eat.

Das Stakehouse is a restaurant located in Dark Universe at Epic Universe, and you'll need park admission to dine there. The restaurant is open from 9 AM to 9 PM. This is a sit-down restaurant, but you must place your order through the Universal App. It's very important to select that you're at the restaurant and enter your table number after ordering; otherwise, the kitchen won't prepare your food. I learned this the hard way- lol, our party waited over 40 minutes because I hadn't checked in correctly. But once I checked in; the food was prepared really quick. Despite that hiccup, the food was superb. The steaks were incredibly tender, and the gravy sauce was excellent! The burger was also packed with flavor. The highlight of the menu was definitely the glazed pork belly--absolutely amazing! We could've easily eaten two servings of it. The meat was incredibly soft, and the sauce had delightful hints of teriyaki. All the vegetables were cooked perfectly and tasted great, and the mocktail was delicious as well! This is my top restaurant at Universal, followed closely by Atlantic.

The theme here is absolutely on point. It's exactly what you'd want from a vampire-themed tavern-dark, moody, and packed with cool details like staked vampires and classic monster portraits on the walls. The food, however, was a bit of a "mixed bag." The Carved Staked Steak and the Monocane drink (which is a total must-order!) were delicious and lived up to the hype. But the rest felt a little "off." The "Blood" Orange Chicken Sandwich and the chicken strips just didn't hit the mark for me. Also, the Black Bun looks incredible for photos, but the taste and texture didn't quite hold up. One thing to note: they have a strict no-takeout policy here-you have to finish your meal in the catacombs! If the chicken was as good as the steak, this would be 5 stars. For now, I'd say go for the ambiance and the steak, but maybe skip the poultry!

If there's lines everywhere good and you need a quick bite it will suffice. The ambiance is the major selling point here. Food is edible but nothing to write home about.

Absolutely horrible. First off I hate that you have to order on the app and you cannot alter the food unless on there at all. The prices here are lower than most other options at the park but still horrible food. Also nowhere on the menu does it inform you of the food coloring in the bread and buns to dye them black. This was just gross. I ordered their burger and ate less than half as it was dry, overcooked, and flavorless. The sauce and jalapeños did not help and the one measly piece of sautéed onion was bland. The fries were edible but needed to be cooked longer. The orange chicken sandwich was gross as the sauce was yet again colored to be bright red and tasted like a poor sweet and sour sauce imitation. The chicken was overcooked and mostly breading. $50 lunch that was inedible and you cannot even complain as there is no staff once you have your food.

Okay steak--was made well done so it was chewy. Good mashed potato and soft carrots. Nice location to sit down and eat. Super cool interior--it's like walking in Mordor! nice staff

Love the theme of the restaurant. Quick service for ordering and receiving the food. Steak was delicious, along with its accompaniments! I did not care for the cool drink. I normally like sweet drinks, but it was a tad sugary and sweet for me. I'm sure kids love it though. It was cool to keep the beaker though!

Of course with this place being in Dark Universe, it gave that eerie feeling. It seems like every 10 or 15 mins, the lights flicker red. Ordered from the universal app, including beer. When the person brings the beer to the table, that's when they check the ID. My blood orange chicken sandwich came out in a good timely manner and was hot. What fully put things together is the blood orange sauce, its so good! They put the sauce on the sandwhich and included an extra ramekin of it. I was nervous about the black bun, but it didn't show on my teeth or anything. Yet, just a truthful warning, the #2 toilet "aftermath" might show a teal color.

The place has a great vibe for the horror lovers The ordering is easy, though the app and just wait for the food and drinks, great concept. The service is real nice and friendly. The food is pretty spicy, so I had to ask for a few condiments to dial down the spice. But overall the burger was pretty good and the wings weee delicious. The corn bread also had jalapeños but it was pretty tasty overall. The prices are as expected for a theme park restaurant and so is the serving size

This place has an awesome aesthetic that might scare some children lol. I only had the brain desert and it was DELICIOUS. It's a creamy panna cotta with a raspberry sauce. I think it has some pop rocks in there cause I had a few pops in my mouth. Truly recommend you give this a try. Since this place wasn't as busy as Mario world, it was a nice place to get away from the crowds and rest while having a nice bite in some cold AC.

Oh man, Universal has created an entire experience with this quick service Dark Universe restaurant. I absolutely loved Das Stakehaus. It was a great refuge away from the hot sun. Tucked away in Darkmoor, I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of work and detail that went into this place. The staff was SO friendly (ESPECIALLY Team Member Gabo, who went above and beyond to make my birthday feel special by giving me a ton of fun facts about the restaurant). You order via Mobile App; but those, like me, with a leftover Universal Mardi Gras gift card can opt for in-person ordering at the bar/station you pass by as you're making your way into the main dining room. You just need a table number of where you're sitting to order in-person. The atmosphere is spooky and eerie, in the best kind of way. This was any Halloween Horror Nights fan's dream come true. There are sinister paintings covering nearly every wall, and lots of ghouls hanging around along with skull chandeliers. The chairs are heavy to move around but VERY comfortable. It was nice and chilly in there, which was so nice after a day of walking around Epic with very little shade anywhere. THE GOODS: 1) Das Burger ($17.99 at the time)- It is a "Seared Angus burger with tomato pepper chutney, white cheddar cheese, grilled onions, cherry peppers, and bacon on a black bun with fries." Dang, that was tasty with a KICK! I really enjoyed this burger. The black bun is SO fun (and yes, the rumors are true about how the dye on the bun has an interesting effect on your... digestive results)... The burger had a surprisingly delicious sear on it! I usually don't go for burgers in theme parks because I've had less than stellar experiences with theme park burgers (as they're typically flavorless with zero sear), but I'd go back to Das Stakehaus for this! The toppings are a pretty delightful combination- different, in a good way. The potato wedges were ooookay. My mom really liked them. I thought they were a bit on the soft side for my liking. I prefer them to be a bit crispier. Overall, it was a decent-sized burger, and nice size to share (if you're like me and are interested in hitting multiple foodie spots to try out as many places as possible at Epic). I'd DEFINITELY recommend Das Stakehaus to check out and grab a burger! There were also some items that my buddy Gabo recommended, like the Bird on a Stake (chicken skewer with chimmichurri). I'll have to try it next time I'm at Epic!

We came here a week or so ago and was pleasantly surprised by the decor! Everything from the moment you walk in (deathly cold atmosphere) to the structures to the color of the food and silverware was nicely done! Really! Universal spent their time on thier eateries and it shows! I ordered the wings and the wings were large, crispy and tasteful. The coleslaw and skeleton head cornbread was also on point! I did get pretty cold while in there which is why I minus one star. I felt that after I ate I wanted to get out of there because of the cold. My sons had the burgers which came with a black bun which they both stated was not that great but was "just a burger." I would give this place a solid 4 though. Great job!

Looking around after the game, a smash burger sounded like just the thing we needed. Ambiance was nice. Good, chill vibes, a random door to a random next-door bar. Plenty of viable seating for my party of six. Service was pretty ok. The front counter worker was nice enough, but the food took forever to come out. Much longer than I would expect for the products we ordered. The food itself was dynamite. I got the Papi Big Mak (Two Florida-raised beef patties, smashed onions, lettuce, American cheese, sweet-heat pickles, tostone "Middle Bun" , Papi Mak sauce, Sesame Martin Potato Roll). This was a fun thing. The patties had a good crisp to them. The totstone did not, though, so it got a little lost in the bite and chew. Needed more sauce. And that sesame seed bun really helped out a lot, too. A little extra texture in every bite. I was a fan. I also got the chance to try the Umami Papi (Two Florida-raised beef patties, crispy bacon, white cheese, sweet-heat pickles, crispy onion, raspberry jam, Uuuumami truffle sauce, sesame buns). This one was a better topping combination. The pickles had a nice pop of acid, the raspberry jam really stood out, adding a nice sweetness, and the truffle sauce, never thought I needed it on a burger. I did. Standout burger. I also got the Papis Loco Fries. I forget exactly what these fries were topped with, but the cheese, just look at it. Congealed just perfectly. A good side item, for sure. Overall, this greasy meal is out there doing the good work for the people. Maybe this was a four star meal overall, but I'm not sitting, that Umami Papi was a standout for me, and the reason I now give five stars.

Ambiance: The staff was friendly enough and I do like the fact that you can see them cooking the burgers in front of you. However, looking around at the restaurant, it looks like there was no upkeep. There were broken tiles, tables weren't cleaned, and I believe there might have been mold when I was filling my water cup at the ice machine, like visibly on the spout. Food: Loaded frings- I'm not sure how you mess this one up, but they somehow did it. The fries were overcooked and the bacon was fried to hell. I think you can actually see how burnt the bacon was in the pictures. It tasted like charcoal. Lastly, the fries were completely soaked in cheese sauce, which I'm guessing was from a can. It tasted like the cheese you'd have at state fairs, except more watery. There was more sauce than fries and onion rings! I should have taken a picture after eating half of the fries. I could not eat the bottom half of the frings because it was all soggy Burger- the same cooked-to-hell bacon was used on the burger. Not much else need to say about that. Looking at the picture of the burger, you'd think that the patties were way overcooked as well. That was not entirely the case. The patties weren't extra dry, but they weren't as juicy as I would have liked a burger to be. I'd say it was just okay. Maybe a half step below average. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't able to. I'm not sure if I came by on an odd day, because the reviews say otherwise. I really hope management can fix these issues.

I already loved it for the burgers, the french fries with their wonderful sauce, and of course, the custard but now they have a salad as well. Really fresh greens with my favorite burger on top as a garnish. Low-carb great taste and totally filling. But not so filling as to not leave room for that wonderful custard. On this particular visit, I did run into an issue which I will not lower my rating because of, but want people aware of so it does not happen to them. If you have a coupon for a discounted custard, and they ring in any other item after that, it will restore the custard to the full price on their register. I did not notice that and paid the full price. The manager did give me a card for a free custard next visit so they certainly took responsibility but just wanted people aware to keep an eye on that. In defense of the staff, I don't think they noticed either that it had occurred, so I did not allow that to detract from my impression of five star service from their pleasant, friendly and attentive staff Of course the custard is a star. It comes in all sorts of different ways to serve it. I tend to usually be a purist indeed, as a soft serve, but sometimes their specials are so exciting that I cannot resist. I have never tasted any of them that I did not find awesome. Their steakburgers should not be left as an afterthought. These are not like other fast food burgers; the meat is actually very tasty and because there's not any "proprietary" seasonings on it I even order an extra one so that I can sit outside with my puppy and she can enjoy it. It is small enough to not be unhealthy for her and big enough to be a satisfying snack. Its fat content does not make her ill like the typical fast food burger would. I personally like the fries and find the sauces to be quite good. Prices are more than reasonable and they have hours that make them convenient whenever you're hungry or craving that custard fix. I am a Freddy's fan and wish they would open one closer to where I live in Miami.

I had never heard of this establishment before, so when I drove past it for the first time a few…read moreweeks ago, I was intrigued. I went inside to order and eat. The resturant inside was very clean, and the employees working behind the counter were very nonchalant. I ended up ordering their grilled chicken sandwich combo with their famous skinny fries. My mom got the Freddy's Original double combo with a Turtle milkshake and onion rings. The sandwich portion was big. The chicken was very juicy and tasted alright. The fries, however, were not seasoned. I had to get a salt and pepper packet to season them. At that point, they were very good, tasty, and crispy! Overall, the meal was okay. It was nothing spectacular but also nothing terrible either. As for my mom, she wasn't very impressed with her hamburger. She said the portion size was good, but she would describe the hamburger itself as "lacy." She said it was okay, but since it took us 27 minutes to get here, she said Culver's was better in quality and closer. She was underwhelmed by the onion rings. She said it was more of the fried breading and barely any onion inside. However, she did enjoy her milkshake, but struggled to suck it up through the straw. It was enjoyable to try a new establishment, but it was just a mid experience for me.
