This feels (and is) like a local brewery with a daily atmosphere, but for adults and I like that. It's not huge, but they had a good sampling of their brews and other local small breweries. I really liked their sour! The prices are also not bad at all! The food you order via QR code and it's a little confusing because everything says you will go pick it up but our food just kept being delivered. Maybe we were special? Idk. But that was good service. The food was hot so I know they just prepared it, but it's nothing special. It feels like decent snacks to pair with your beers and keep people staying...and honestly I'm not mad about it. Made two visits to Half Barrel Beer Project and really enjoyed both times. Terrific beer selection. Not a huge food menu, but what we had was excellent. I had the Buffalo Shredded chicken quesadilla and their World Cup special with boneless wings. Each was very tasty and delivered quickly. The cook obviously knew what he was doing. First visit there was three, and it was so good we invited our entire group of 15 for the next time after a long of day of volleyball tournament at the nearby Convention Center. Service was friendly and attentive. Plenty of TVs with sports. We loved the 1970s/80s living room that we all agreed looked just like the one we grew up in. A hidden gem over in this area. Stopped by with friends on a Saturday evening. To my surprise parking was pretty easy and we were able to find tables big enough for a group of 8. All of the bartenders were kind and helpful when ordering and paying. There are QR codes at the table to order food to the table. We ordered a quesadilla and some mini corn dogs. I would probably skip the corn dogs next time, but the quesadilla was okay. As for the beer, my favorite was their Put the Lime in the Coconut. Super refreshing, my only wish would be to make it more price comparable to the others if possible. A gem in the sea of highly-irrigated, pedestrian-hostile, muggy concrete that is Orlando, FL. Because this is FL, it's in a new-construction stripmall surrounded by condos that's trying desperately to be "ye olde town square" and failing hideously. The beer here is good, and they have the humility to have many guest taps, mostly from other Florida breweries. The hot bartenders know how to flirt and the husky locals know how to talk to a stranger. I would describe the food options as "stoner food", but they are a good representation of that. Half Barrel Beer Project was a great find for a friend and I as we were waiting out some accidents to clear on our way towards Disney. There were people of all sorts here at the time that we visited and our bartender was handling a busy Friday evening with ease. Even in the midst of steady customers, he took the time to chat up everyone sitting at the bar which is always appreciated. Having just finished up at the Beer Spa, my friend and I landed on getting a couple tasters and the large pretzel off the food menu. Everything hit the spot, the pretzel was delicious and buttery, and we were greatly impressed by all the food offerings available. On top of the well-rounded tap list, there are also cans and bottles in the fridge for purchase including wine, seltzers, and non-alcoholic options. I didn't see anything about a corkage fee (as most places where I live have them), so that's a plus. We started of sitting in the dog friendly porch but decided to move in. They have games playing and also movies. They have high top tables low tables. This little location is talked underneath a multitude of shopping and dining locations within a apartment complex. The majority of the beers they do are sours. They do carry a selection of other options from multiple different breweries around the US. But they themselves typically only have 5 to 6 brews on tap that they created. My husband opted for the American pale ale that they had on tap. It wasn't exactly what he was expecting. I opted for the half barrel beer Project dark sweet chocolate covered cherry sour. It was OK but definitely was more cherry than chocolate. Our friend got the mangolorian slushy which turned out to be a true slushy. The concoction is basically a mango purée mixed in with blue raspberry. There definitely was a lot of tartness to it and she ended up buying a bag of Lays potato chips to try to balance it. This location is rather small but it's perfect for the small community that it is supporting. I would say I was a little taken aback by the seating they had directly outside their door as when we left they had a large table to the left and somebody sitting in the chair to the right and it became very tight to exit without hitting somebody when you came out the door. read more

This little brewpub is tucked into a shopping center near the convention center. It meets a niche for for craft beers and taps that is unique from the chains and theme restaurants located on the International tourist corridor. I was struggling to find a parking spot at Walgreens and had seen the signs in the past, but I am usually popping in and out. They had a crowd, so I decided to check them out. Turns out they host a University of Michigan fan club and most of the tables inside and out were occupied by fans. They had allowed the fan club to make sandwiches and had Halloween treats. They had several spots blocked in front for a food truck which was to arrive at 5 pm. Half Barrel Project offers their brewed beer on tap as well as several local craft drafts and packaged craft beers. Another customer told me they don't fill growlers. They have a a digital display that lists the tap beers with three sizes. 5 ounce taster, 10 ounce and 16 ounce with the price for each. The display includes the brewer name, ABV and city of origin. Almost all were Florida based with just one from Nashville, TN and one from Charleston, SC. They will give you a swallow of one or two if you are having trouble deciding. I liked that I could buy two small tasters without buying a sampler tray. They had a good variety of choices not just IPAs. The refrigerated case has single large cans from $7 - $9.50 that offer interesting craft choices. I was intrigued because I did not recognize the craft brands and flavors. As a self serve option you can pick a single from the refrigerator case, pay the bartender and enjoy it at the bar or at home later. They also offer some high end 4 packs. It is the equivalent of 4 singles but again not your craft selection you will find at a retail liquor store. I think this is a clever strategy because a lot of time vacationers are up to try something new. The prices here are much less than a resort. The atmosphere is an intimate bar and several high tops. The brewing equipment and supplies dot the small space. As mentioned there are two tables outside. I took off one star because they only had one server. He really didn't have the time to provide much more than draw the beers as he was quite busy. I think they need two servers for events but later that day was Halloween eve. This is a great spot for locals like me and thirsty tourists. read more

On our way to Epic Universe for a passholder preview when our brand new truck broke down, we pulled into a parking lot and it turned out to be for Half Barrel Beer Project. It took over an hour for the tow truck to arrive but no stress for us as we were able to have some wonderful beers and great service from Pia. We were so glad to have found this place and will make a point to come back when we are in Orlando again. We did not try the food but the menu looked good. They have their own beers on draft as well as several guest taps. We tried a few but found we really enjoyed their beers. I really enjoyed their Lager.
