I recently revisited Descend 21 while in town for the Zumba convention at the Hyatt. I had discovered it last year and had a great experience, so I told a few friends, "Let's check it out again!" Located on the lower level of the hotel, we were quickly seated upon arrival. There were not a lot of ppl there. Very cute decor. One thing that stood out right away was the service. Our waitress immediately brought four waters to the table without us having to ask. That small gesture made a great first impression. She was kind, attentive, and checked in with us often. We were starving and already knew what we wanted. Three of us ordered the Smashburger with rosemary fries, and one friend tried the chicken burger. It is a little pricey though at $26. The Smashburger was just as tasty as I remembered. Juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. However, the fries were a letdown. The first batch was cold, and when the waitress kindly brought us fresh ones, they were fried too hard and not enjoyable. That was a bit of a bummer. On the bright side, the chicken burger looked amazing. It came with these delicious-looking pickles, and the waitress even brought some for the rest of us to try. Honestly, those pickles were so good, I started second-guessing my order! Overall, the experience this time was just okay compared to my first visit. The service was great, but the fries really missed the mark. Still, I'd come back again. I know that sometimes places just have an off day, and the quality of the burger and the friendly service still make it worth another try.

After a few hours at the pool, my friend and I decided to come in to have some lunch. We were seated pretty quick, it was mostly empty. We sat outside which I thought was nice to have that option. The waiter was very attentive and would frequently check on us and fill our water. I chose to get the loaded hummus dip as an app which we thought was so delicious. I also got the Greek salad, not expecting it to be sooo big but it was filling and also very yummy.

I ate supper pretty early, so there was not much of a crowd. Which is absolutely wonderful. The ambience and decor is just so delightful and clean and fun . Staff was very welcoming !! Miso crab crusted fish for dinner. It was one of the best I've ever had. Absolutely fresh and delicious and it just looked so beautiful. The presentation was absolute artwork and so nourishing. I really loved it !!!

I got the smash burger and truffle fries to go. It was so busy there wasn't seating available. It's a lot of food. I couldn't eat but half and I'm beyond stuffed. Truffle fries 10/10 probably the best truffle fries I have ever had. Delicious The burger was also delicious. Cooked perfectly. FULL OF FLAVOR. If I ordered the burger again I would probably take off the jam. There was so much flavor in the smash burger it doesn't need it. The jam is very sweet. My food to go was ready way sooner than I was told it would be. Which was awesome

Overall, a nice dining experience at Descend 21 at the Hyatt Regency. I was seated and served quickly. Menu offers a variety for different palates. Slight disappointment in the cook on the egg for the Korean Shortrib. The hummus was a nice appetizer paired with the entrees ordered. Plenty of seating options and sound level is good for conversations with your table.

Drink, play, drink at the bar below the bar! The Hyatt was busy at work during the pandemic, taking that time to fix up the downstairs to create Descend 21, which is an eat/drink/play area for adults. There's a Top Golf Simulator, darts, pool tables, couches, lounge chairs, a bar, high top tables, lots of TVs. You can get appetizers to nibble on, full dishes and craft drinks. Descend 21 is hard to find only in the sense that when you walk to the left of registration, you see a bright bar and hear music, which is the bar right above it, Rocks. You get to Descend 21 at the same spot. Instead of taking the curved steps up, look to take the steps down a level. Rosemarried & Divorced (Bourbon, Rosemary, Lemon Juice, Egg White, Luxardo Cherry) - It's a whiskey sour with a rosemary kick. They did this well, shaking in the egg whites to create a creamy foam on top and nice balance of ingredients. The Honeycomb (Tequila, Mezcal, Agave Bitters, Honeycomb) - This was very spirit forward... That means strong. I guess I was expecting a little different look. The drink came out fully clear with a large sphere of ice. The fully chunk of honeycomb gave the drink its sweetness. It was decent but not interesting enough for me to get again. I didn't have any food but my friends did and they did not have any complaints. For darts and pool, you do have to pay for the time and you can check those items out at the bar. Descend 21 is a welcome addition to the Hyatt Regency, who doesn't want more fun lounges?

Went here recently for a company Christmas party and everyone had a blast! The service was great and the entire area has been redone to resemble an upscale sports bar with golf, pool tables, darts, etc. It definitely gives off a chill, upscale vibe that compliments the rest of the hotel perfectly. The food for our party was more grazing style but everything was delicious - chimichurri steak, yuca fries and a poke bar. We also had a s'mores bar with macaroons and other yummy bites for dessert. At the end of the night, we all ventured outside to sit by the fire and finish our drinks. It was a comfy cozy area to end a great event.

After lounging by the Terrace Pool at night, we needed to have some dinner so we figured we'd give Descend 21 a try. It's literally downstairs by the Grotto Pool, right underneath Rocks. Their menu is literally same except for some slight differences. The area hosts some Top Golf suites with some dart boards as well. Seems like a nice little place to come hang out with some friends. We sat at the bar and ate there. The bartenders were really nice and served the dranks pretty strong. I had 2 different drinks. First was the Emerald Garden (Hendricks Gin, Basil, Cucumber, Lemon Juice, Prosecco) which was strong but still light. The second one did me in, The Honeycomb (Casa Noble Tequila, Banhez Mezcal, Agave, Bitters, Honeycomb). This hits hard later. For food we just went with small plates and these filled us up: Charcuterie Board (seasonal artisan cheese and cured meats, marcona almonds, marinated olives, crusty bread, pickled vegetables, passion fruit mustard) - a simple board that probably could've used more bread. I could have asked for more but I enjoyed it without it. Poke Stack (hawaiian style poke, smoked sea salt edamame, wasabi puree, goat cheese, house made pico de gallo, tostadas) - very bomb. The poke was so fresh and this wasn't a skinny stack either. It was also topped with tobiko along with the goat cheese and wasabi. The wasabi puree wasn't sinus-opening and had a nice, creamy texture. Sushi Bake (salmon, shaved onion, rice, dynamite sauce, unagi sauce, nori) - surprisingly good! I really enjoyed having to roll it myself in the nori instead of juice scooping it on a plate. I really loved the food here and if I'm staying at the Hyatt this will definitely be my go-to.

Got lunch here on vacation while staying at the hotel. It was great! The food was a good portion size and was delicious. The restaurant is nice too, cool decor.

Had the u a fries and they were amazing. Destin t taste and with a side of aioli sauce. Perfect amount of cheese. Service was fast and friend. I forgot my bartenders name but my server was Guillermo and both folks were great to work with. I arrived early afternoon so I beat the rush. Ambiance was nice, clean, and quiet. Would definitely come back if I have time on this work trip.

Pretty great food, came out very fast, servers were so so nice. The bartender service was a bit wonky but we were there at an odd time

On our recent trip to Orlando, we stayed at the Hyatt Orlando. This restaurant is located downstairs inside this beautiful hotel/resort. It was not a really surprise that the food would be delicious based on the reviews but I loved their selection of cocktails and the variety of food to choose from. The servers were always friendly and very attentive.

The service is efficient, the food and drink specials for Happy Hour from 5-8pm are excellent and you can easily walk to your event. The Lounge is relaxed and not crowded as other locations in this area, especially before a performance or a Magic game. (Both were going on the night we stopped in.) Last year, Yelp held its annual award event here. I ended up meeting a couple that was in the lounge area that were going to Dr. Phillips later that night. We struck up a conversation-they asked what this big Yelp group was about, and I provided the details. They said they always come to the WXYZ Lounge before a performance arts event as this place is not crowded and the food is quite good. I remembered this conversation when a friend and I attended a recent event at Dr. Phillips. As luck would have it, Woody and Kim were in the Lounge when we walked in Friday night! I introduced them to my guest and thanked them for their recommendation. We then went to sit at the bar. First off, LeBeth was our main bartender, and she was excellent. We remembered each other from the Yelp event. We ordered two of the featured cocktails, Waterloo Rose Pedals (gin) and Svedka String Winder (vodka). My friend asked if the vodka drink was sweet and LaBeth stated she could add more lemon to her cocktail to counterbalance the sweetness. Both drinks were excellent, and although I liked my gin drink, I switched to the vodka drink for my second one after I had a taste of my friend's drink. A shout-out also to the "bartender in training", Jeffrey, who assisted us. The food was also amazing. We first ordered from the Small Bites menu. The Buffalo Cauliflower floret bites were lightly breaded and soft, with Bleu Cheese crumbles, and the buffalo dressing was provided on the side. Very tasty! The Veggie Eggrolls with the sweet Red Chili sauce was also a big hit. We then added a Chicken Caesar salad and the Fish Tacos from the Big Bites menu to also share. The salad was a good size, served in a large round, flat bowl, with the Caesar dressing on the side. The Fish Tacos were very FULL tacos, and the combination of the spicy sauce and the sweet and tangy coleslaw complimented each other well. We both agreed these were some of the best fish tacos we have tasted! Overall, a great place to stop in for Happy Hour and it is THE PERFECT stop before an event at the Dr. Phillips Performance Center.

Shortly after the bartender, Mason came over and asked if he could get me anything. I ordered an Adult Juice Box as I continued to look at their offerings. The restaurant had an open concept with large glass doors that were open to the pool deck, they also had out side tables that you could opt to sit at, with the kitchen opposite of the bar. I started with the Pinchos Shrimp & Barbados Wings. Both were DELICOUS! Mason was extremely attentive and friendly - he continually checked on everyone at the bar & assisted guests at the walk up window that was pool side. Mason ensured that everyone seated at the bar was topped off on their drinks may it be a cocktail or just water, he ensured our glasses were filled. I ordered another Adult Juice Box and the Jerk Chicken & Mango Salad. Everything was so delicious, and the service from Mason was great. Elevators were quick and there seemed like there was always one waiting on the first floor. Rooms were decently sized and well appointed - very clean and comfortable. Bed was in good shape and got the job done. Hot water was hot and made the shower experience fine. After putting my stuff up, I took a stroll around the place - most of the amenities appear to be in the first floor: bars / restaurants and shops. There is an outdoor pool area and a fitness center somewhere in there as well. To be fair, I did not spend a whole lot of time in the room as I had quite a few activities to attend to. Would I stay here again? I would if the cost of the room was workable. It also depends on where you are planning on going in Orlando.
