TL; DR: Oscar's, located on the ground floor of the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, serves an ala carte breakfast menu and a $45 breakfast buffet. Service is outstanding. The buffet is a decent value for guests who don't want to leave hotel grounds for breakfast. Oscar's isn't destination dining like Bull & Bear -- it's a refuel station. Standouts are crispy waffles, (vanilla?) pancakes, a vegetable dish, smoked salmon, fresh fruit, potatoes, café mocha, coffee, and fresh carrot juice. They should improve depth of flavor in hot dishes, biscuits, gravy, and pastries. They missed the opportunity to showcase local flavors like Latin favorites, authentic-tasting southern classics, key lime treats, and fresh squeezed OJ. Oscar's fills up fast. Getting there early is ideal for a quieter breakfast with a better choice of tables. Outdoor dining (with a pool view) is available. Noisy families and groups converge between 9am and 11am, putting together rows of tables and filling up on carbs and protein before heading out on their Disney/Universal adventures. Children eat free, and there were quite a few families. Children were well-behaved -- no fingers and faces in the food. Clean restrooms located in the hall across from the restaurant. Hot Line: waffles and pancakes; made-to-order omelettes, eggs, and crêpes; scrambled eggs; potatoes; sautéed mixed veggies; oatmeal and toppings; small carving board; bacon and sausage; tasteless but fluffy biscuits, and a sad pot of sausage gravy. Pancakes were distinctly better fresh (nice ladies on the line will make fresh pancakes). Magically crisp, delicious waffles tasted perfectly fresh and light even after sitting under the lamp. Pancakes and waffles had distinct delicious flavors (not the same mix?). Light, white crêpes are made to order. Cold Items: smoked salmon with accoutrements (bagels at bread table); individual smoothies; yogurt; fresh fruit; charcuterie; cheeses; pico de gallo and guac -- but no beans, rice, or tortillas. Pastry & bread tables: breads, bagels, croissants, milk buns, small apple turnovers, chocolate brioche, donuts, etc. No rich flavors. Not worth the calories. The only bagels Waldorf makes in-house are raisin bagels. Our server toasted my raisin bagel and brought it to our table. It was good. She served cream cheese, packaged butter from France, and strawberry preserves. She also served cute individual containers of hot sauce and ketchup for savory dishes. Drinks are included in the buffet price: coffee, water, fresh juice, OJ, etc. The buffet had fresh green juice, carrot juice, and watermelon juice. Carrot was best. Coffee stayed piping hot and fresh-tasting in a huge metal carafe that remained on our table. I love that. I don't like flagging down servers for refills. Went for breakfast as we stayed at Waldorf Astoria. The service was top notch and impeccable. The servers are polite and thoughtful. Food variety was great, from standard scrambled eggs and omelets to smoked salmon and guacamole. Cheeseboard also was surprisingly tasty too! We had a free night to use at any Hilton property, so we took full advantage and booked a quick trip to Orlando to stay at the Waldorf Astoria. While our dinner at the poolside restaurant was terrible (that's a story for another review), our brunch at Oscar's more than made up for it. It's been two months and I'm STILL daydreaming about their homemade whipped cream! You can either order entrees a la carte, or pay $40 for the buffet. Do yourself a favor and pay the $40 -- it's so worth it (and it includes coffee and juice, by the way). My husband got an a la carte entree and he said the bacon and eggs I got from the buffet were fresher than his food. And considering he ordered a coffee with his meal, his ended up only costing about $6 less than my buffet. You name it, the buffet probably has it... an omelette station, a CREPE station (that I sadly forgot existed until I was too full to eat anything more), fantastic Neuske's bacon (cooked perfectly!), delicious breakfast potatoes, Belgian waffles, pastries, fresh fruit, smoked salmon... I'm salivating just writing this. Everything was divine. My made-to-order omelette was very satisfying, the afore-mentioned bacon was perfectly crispy without being burnt, the scrambled eggs were very tasty (I tried a small amount since usually scrambled eggs at a buffet are meh, but these were super fluffy and fresh)... but oh man, the fresh strawberries and homemade whipped cream were the stars of the show in my eyes. That whipped cream was SUPER thick and you could even see the vanilla beans in it. I want to go back just for that. Now, $40 per person is pricey, I know. This is not something I absolutely could do very often. But if you're going to spend it, at least here it's worthwhile. Friendly service and the choices for food included everything imaginable. We loved the pastry bar with cinnamon rolls, apple tarts, blueberry muffins and so much more. Had my birthday breakfast here and for $40 per person expectations are were somewhat high. This is a restaurant located inside the Waldorf Astoria. They offer al a carte and buffet offerings. Buffet is again $40 per guest. So as you enter you will see the bread, dessert loaf, bagel station. Then as you walk around on the right side of the restaurant you will see the rest of the food stations. They offer an Oatmeal Bar. Then in the middle station is the fresh fruit bar with a plate of smoke salmon . Also smoothie shots and egg frittata in a souffle bowl.. The bar on the left is the eggs, bacon, pork links, roasted potatoes, and an omelet station where they make fresh to order omelets. They also offer pancakes, waffles and fresh whipped cream. The left side bar is the cereals etc. The staff here address the guests by the last name. So as far as options you get you can request smoothies like green smoothies from the server. They offer OJ, Apple Juice, Cranberry Juice as drink options. The highlight of the breakfast were the roasted potatoes, Pork links and the pancakes. Would I consider coming back here again for breakfast? Probably not. I can get a nicer brunch breakfast at Briarpatch. read more

There is a ton of food to select from. Even a made to order omelet station. Painfully below average food and even worse service. Avoid the outside patio at all costs unless you want to walk inside to repeatedly ask for any type of service (ie. water, coffee, getting the bill at the end of your meal). The buffet is remarkably overpriced at $38. Frittata was rubbery and cold. Peaches were rotten. Only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is that the blueberry muffins were excellent. Avoid at all costs for breakfast. Go to the Signia Bonnet Creek next door. You can still use your Diamond Status benefits there even if staying overnight at the Waldorf. They have 10x better buffet options (including a gluten free spread and dairy free milk options - both things I noticed were not present at Waldorf) and 100x better service. Absolutely absurd for a 5 star hotel to have such a terrible restaurant. read more

The food was ok but the service was painfully bad especially for a restaurant at the Waldorf. We had to flag our waiter down for everything (water, coffee, clean cups, the bill). As a Diamond-status Hilton Honors member, breakfast at Oscar's was included each day of our stay. As such, my wife, our daughter and I dined there on Saturday and Sunday mornings, never having to wait for a table. Both days, we were served by Prince, who is very professional, very friendly and very, very helpful. He made sure we had hot chocolate, coffee; and, decaf coffee, as well as water to go with our breakfast. On the first day, we had only the Continental Breakfast, which includes fresh-made pastries, fresh fruit, assorted cereals, including hot oatmeal; and, charcuterie and cheeses, as well as assorted pieces of bread and bagels to toast to your liking. On the second day, we had vouchers for a free upgrade to the Full Breakfast, which included hot items, like scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, bread pudding, and made-to-order omelets, as well as a Smoked Salmon Bar, with all the accouterments. My wife and I both made bagels with lox, with cream cheese, egg, onion, capers; and, for my wife tomatoes! We were seated in a Private Dining area the second day, which was very secluded; and, enjoyed being away from the bustling crowd. I ordered a cafe latte, which Prince prepared; and, upon learning it was my wife's birthday, he presented her with a special treat. I had a chance to speak with the restaurant manager again. He explained that his French Pastry Chef made Mexican Conchas; and, I have to say they were excellent. My daughter and I loved them. He takes great pride in his restaurant; and, I know he looks over every aspect of service delivery, the environment; food quality and guest comfort personally. The breakfast buffet is really impressive both in the taste of the items and the visible display of the spread. Mario, my server on day one of my stay, was a great server and very attentive. The staff at the omelet station were very friendly as well, even to children. Day two of my stay the server was the complete opposite of Mario. So service I guess can be hit and miss. Overall though I had positive experiences. The hosts were very friendly too. When the host who sat me saw me getting on the elevator later in my stay she smiled and waved. The buffet ($34) offers smoked salmon and other charcuterie meats and cheese. There is an entire table of bakery, bagels and breads with jams. There is fresh fruit, yogurt, a smoothie and a cold cereal station. There was a really good frittata and breakfast risotto that i had two servings of each. After reading some positive reviews about the breakfast at Oscar's in the Waldorf, we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately for us, there were way too many negative points from start to finish. First we pulled up to the Waldorf and they only have the option of valeting your car. If you dine at resorts, most of them usually offer complimentary parking if you receive validation from the restaurant. Not here. They just offer a discounted rate of $5. When we arrived Oscar's, the place was pretty empty with plenty of window tables. Despite this, we were seated at the entrance literally at the table next to the seating host's podium. Feeling hungry, we opted for their $28 breakfast buffet. After grabbing a plate and stepping up to the food stations, we realized that they had run out of most of their food. Aside from the pancake and omelette stations, their lox station only had a few scraps left and their fruit section was left with nothing but a few odds and ends. The remainder of their offerings had been severely picked over as well. Seeing that our choices were extremely limited and there was no signs of refilling the empty food stations (despite having an hour left in their buffet), we ended up deciding to switch from the buffet to the a la carte menu. We decided to go with the pancakes, brioche French toast and some OJ. Despite the place being 80% vacant, it took a really long time for our meal to be served. The French toast was decent but the pancakes were nothing impressive (definitely on the dry side). For our very average breakfast, the original bill came to over $60 due to them mischarging us for the buffet. After I pointed this out, they corrected the bill to $50. As far as money I have spent on breakfasts while traveling around the world, this place easily ranks as the least amount of enjoyment per dollar paid. Oscars! We had free breakfast at Oscars since we were living in the hotel. I loved their food especially their waffles, prosciutto and salami. I love that I can get whatever I wanted, they could make me a crepe with stuff inside, an omelet with what you want, with only egg whites or a small one. They have bagels and toast and many different desserts and fresh honey dripping down from a honey comb! One morning, we woke up late and they're opened from 7 to 1130 only, we got there at 1120 and put our name down, they don't kick you out or anything and let you sit until you're full! You really can't compare this place to any of the Disney hotels as it is so much more elegant and the food is far superior. Oscars is located pool side and is elegantly decorated. Have been staying at the Waldorf Orlando regularly for 5 years and have frequented Oscar's during that time. For us the service has always been a standout at Oscar's! Yes, on weekends after 8am and weekdays after 9am it can be extremely busy (depending on time of year). If you're trying to rush to a theme park or a convention meeting, maybe consider room service or the grab and go at Peacock Alley, as I don't believe Oscar's is designed to get you in and out quickly. I went here every morning while I was staying at the Waldorf. The omelets and the fresh fruit selection were the best part. However, the service here could be greatly improved. If you are going to eat here, I would go during the first hour. If you come here anytime after 8am, it gets super packed at Oscar's. Also, even if you are doing the buffet, you have to check in with the hostess, and the wait could be awhile. The wait could be awhile because they don't fill up all of the tables at the restaurant, and more importantly, they take reservations for this buffet breakfast. The clientele that makes reservations are quite snooty and so if you don't have a reservation, the estimated wait times are grossly miscalculated. The hostess seats those with a reservation first, even though you are there for the buffet. Ridiculous. I haven't heard of such a thing. Secondly, once you are seated, gratuity of 18% is already automatically added, so service is not so attentive. There is a juice station, but they only have some juices and not tropical juices. Also, the manager at Oscar's doesn't give everyone the same service. The one morning where we were waiting, he started giving out sparkling apple cider, but did not offer my sister and I a glass. The management at Waldorf should look into the management at Oscar's, as it seems that breakfast is popular. I understand reservations for SERVED FOOD but SELF SERVICE BUFFET? I've gone to so many other hotels with breakfast buffets and did not experience the chaos that exists at Oscar's. read more

Was staying here for the weekend and got splurged for the Sunday breakfast buffet. Pretty pricey at $32 a person but was leaving later on the afternoon and didn't have a car. So made the most of it. The service was great. They check on you throughout your meal and make sure you have everything you need. The food was pretty standard for a breakfast buffet. They had various fruit, like berries and melons. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potato fingers. They also had custom omelets and crepes which were pretty good. The best items for me were the lox and the cheese/meat spread. They had a lot of different meats like salami and prosciutto. They also have a variety of different juices. Try the watermelon juice of the honeydew melon juice. Pretty fresh and tasty. I'd give Oscars 3.5 stars. With a one star reduction for price and a half star reduction for the overall food quality. When we arrived around 1:30pm, there was only about 4 groups of people eating. There was no hostess to greet and the waiters didn't bother to look in our direction. We waited quite some time, when I finally made eye contact with one of the waiters, they just looked away without acknowledging me. About 5 minutes later, a hostess came out to seat us. After we ordered, it took a while for the house bread to arrive and the Vermont butter it came with was over-chilled and unspreadable even on our warm bread, so we ended up eating chunks of butter. Our food took what seemed like forever to arrive. We had the meatloaf and cornbread, both were really delicious. The cornbread was baked fresh to order in a large cast iron skillet and it was lightly drizzled with honey. The meatloaf was seasoned and cooked perfectly and came with delicious caramelized onions and a red wine gravy. The broccolini was cooked perfectly as well. I would come back here for lunch onlyespecially after reading the bad reviews about breakfast from the other yelpers, but my experience here overall was just OK. read more

We often stay on property at the Waldorf and the breakfast is incredible! The omelet station has more options than one can count including smoked salmon. The breakfast risotto is both creative and comforting. The service is nearly always spot on. There are a few servers we try to avoid. We have not been to lunch here but I do recommend the breakfast. Please bear in mind, you are at the Waldorf Astoria. Prices reflect that brand. In addition, when at a luxury property, you will most likely be taking advantage of the valet services. If you prefer to self park, use the garage after the Hilton but before the Waldorf... And if you can not afford the Waldorf, may I recommend the Waffle House, Enjoy! read more

I have to disagree with some of the reviews regarding Oscar's @ the ORL Waldorf. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. Over many stays here, (back again starting 20.Dec.2016 for a few more days after being here just last weekend). I find we look forward very much to breakfast here. We return due to the consistancy and wonderful range and variety of offerings. The breakfast chef, meticulous, bright and cheery, as are all of wait staff. Everyone has always been most friendly, polite and accommodating. Pricing is commesurate with the accommodations here athlete Waldorf. I have no complaints regarding price point of such a sumptious breakfast buffet. The Bonnet Creek Hilton is a slightly removed property due to the ballrooms/convention space between the 2 facilities. Perhaps some staying there may find a disparity in perception regarding pricing due to the Hilton being a family and thusly more value oriented hotel while the Waldorf a true luxury hotel. I cannot fathom comments regarding service as I have absolutely nothing but respect, admiration and appreciation for the quality of food and dedication of the staff and management. I am no one special yet when one returns after an interval, be it weeks or many months and people remember you by name, I am impressed and always feel appreciated. Living in SW Florida we live in a resort community yet we have made the trip on several occasions staying in large part specifically desiring a GREAT brekkie and we are never disappointed. What gives this place it's 1 star rating from me? 1) Hostess seating service slow and inconsiderate. 2) Buffet goes til 12pm, and upon arriving at 11am, all food was EXTREMELY picked over and wasn't being replenished, even after we waited. 3) Buffet selection SUCKS. I've never seen such a weak display of choices. Hampton Inn has a free buffet that's better than this place. 4) When we decided to not do the buffet and go for the a la carte menu, thinking we were saving ourselves $$, our bill was still staggeringly high. For bisquick-ish pancakes and 2 slices of french toast, our bill was $45. 5) We were brought a bill originally for $66, the buffet price for two people. Then it took 10 min to get the correct bill. 6) Valet parking AFTER VALIDATION is still $5. 7) So many extra staff just constantly milling about, staring, and BSing with each other with no real work to do. Highly inefficient. 8) Heard the staff talking to each other about a snake being on the loose near the pool area. I would never bring my family here. Really the ONLY redeeming factor here was that our waiter was actually nice and friendly. But it unfortunately wasn't enough to bring my temperature down from a raging boil. read more

The food was really good, but terrible service. Went for breakfast buffet while staying at Waldorf Astoria. We were seated, and waited for server so we could order drinks. After about 5 minutes a family was seated at the table next to us and a server immediately came up to them, introduced himself and started pouring drinks. A few minutes later the same server approached our table and offered juice and coffee. I asked for 2 of each as my wife had already headed to the buffet. He poured 2 juices, but only 1 coffee then left the pot for me to pour my wife's. He bussed the table pretty well, but never checked to see if we were ok or in need of refills or anything. I had to figure out where the servers kept Tabasco in a drawer at the server's station and get my own. I watched as he was attentive to the table next to us, but avoided us completely. He left the bill at the other table, and we waited about 15 minutes for our bill which never arrived. When I asked him for it he said we do not get a bill since we were part of a package. Incredibly overpriced, actually ridiculous. I took my daughter there for dinner (two of us), we had the buffet and I had one (1) glass of wine. $153, that included a 20% gratuity for s serve yourself environment, he'll then I had to ask three times for my check. Screw me once, but never twice. I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before going. Otherwise a great stay at the Waldorf, but Oscars sure leaves you with a poor memory. read more

Maybe the bad service reviews have been heard because the one thing that was acceptable here was my service- and the lattes. The food wasn't cooked properly & my replacement meal, after bringing it to the managers attention, was all wrong. All I wanted was a nice breakfast; eggs over medium & the thick cut bacon, how could we go wrong? Maybe I started it by sending back the overcooked eggs. But when I'm spending $24 for a plate, come on. I want them right. The experience quickly went down hill. Again, thank God for the amazing latte. White girl problems. read more

The breakfast buffet has a good variety of food, but the food isn't kept hot enough to enjoy or to justify the price. Good selection of juices. read more
