This is a food review only- Tried their Friday special item:…read moreTexas Brisket!! I'm a born and raised Texan so it was pretty special to find a place on island that makes it like home does. The brisket was super tender, juicy, with the right amount of fat to lean, and lots of peppery bark. The mashed potatoes were the perfect compliment, as was the tangy BBQ sauce although you really don't need sauce for the brisket. We also tried the Hana Koa burger- so smokey and cooked to a perfect medium rare- with fries (a huge portion, so crispy and well seasoned!) as well as the Asian salad (because if you are eating this much red meat you have to eat a vegetable too!). Overall the food was a solid 5 stars which means a lot nowadays as many restaurants have been struggling to keep up on quality and value. Will definitely return!

An afterthought at best, which is why we usually go elsewhere. Parking lot for convenience, but ONLY if you don't come at peak hours. Otherwise, it's a shit show. Why bad beer and iffy parking can be tolerated. Possibly the best fish and chips I've had on island and beyond. You get a generous, flaky filet fried in a crispy, golden beer batter with the proper proportion of fish to coating. It's paired with seasoned french fries that come hot and fresh. But. The rest of the menu is hit or miss. The burger was underwhelming. The grilled chicken sandwich arrived dry even though it was thigh meat. Some serious quality issues if that gets out of the kitchen. The list goes on. Honestly, I come back for the fish. And that's about it.

He definitely knew how to entertain and captivate a crowd! I would speak about it more, but I can't give away the magician's secrets. My only complaint is that Lokahi Brewing fit us all into a pretty tight space on the second floor so it was a bit uncomfortable. 5/5 Yelp Stars for Matthew Singer. Unfortunately, Lokahi Brewing's food missed the mark for me. Their brews were not bad, but there are other breweries in town that I prefer over Lokahi. I tried 4 different ones, and my favorite was the FLOOR IS GUAVA. Here's all the food we got: LOKAHI NACHOS w/ BIRRIA MEAT ($23) [3/5] - Portion was decent for $23, but the chips ran stale and there was uneven distribution of cheese and toppings throughout the nachos. Literally, one side had all the cheese and toppings. The birria meat didn't really taste of the classic Mexican spices that makes birria so good, it felt more like pulled pork. It was also dry. FRIED PICKLES ($10?) [2/5] - This was SO SALTY. I didn't really taste the tang of the pickles, felt like it was squeezed out of all its juice. It was ultimately just chips with a ton of salt. I downed two cups of water trying to finish these. Ultimately, I would come back to Lokahi Brewing for their shows and a brew or two, but I'll eat at home or elsewhere first before coming.

The patio is a fantastic space to relax and enjoy a beer. I took advantage of happy hour and ordered the crispy rice and poke bowl, and it was delicious. I also got a flight of beers, which I always appreciate at breweries because it lets me try multiple brews. There were plenty of other food options on the menu too, including dessert. One really fun touch: they even have a special dog menu since dogs are welcome on the patio! Overall, this is such a great spot to spend an afternoon--good beer, delicious food, a great outdoor space, and excellent service. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a relaxed brewery experience on Oahu!

Possibly, their poke food dishes sounded very tempting:

No wait for our party of 2, and we were sat immediately at a high top communal style table. It is a bar type establishment, with pour your own beers and wines on the wall. Not super noisy, but everyone was having their conversations and having a great time. Everything on the menu sounded delicious, and food walking past us looked amazing! The only difference to this establishment was instead of a server taking our order, we were instructed to go to the front podium to place the order when we were ready. We opted for the Fried Calamari with Cilantro Lime Aioli to start, and ordered the Chop Salad with Tofu and the Verde Bowl. The food came out so quickly, and we were actually surprised with the portion sizes for all the dishes. We were able to share the salad and bowl and still had enough to pack a take out box. Everything was delicious! I'm sure it can get busy on the weekends, but overall seems like a nice place to chill with good food, good drinks and good conversation. Wish we had more time to hang out!

Had sliced avocado and seeds, but mostly greens. The Grilled Cheese was mostly pork adobo and very little cheese. The adobo was on the salty side and didn't have the tangy adobo flavor, sadly. The bread was nicely buttered and crispy, though. Giant steak fries came with it and they were tasty. We both wanted to like this place but it seemed like only one guy was working the floor and the check-in/payment (don't like having to pay a tip in advance if service hasn't been provided yet) and serving the food. It looked like only one person was in the kitchen, too. It wasn't busy so we didn't have to wait long to be served. A plus.

Finally, got seated and a server eventually came by. The pepperoni rolls are delicious as always. We tried the paniolo burger (excellent) and the It's a Gouda burger (good, but I couldn't really taste the aioli or the Gouda). The mac salad on the side is fairly good although I prefer Zippy's because it's more flavorful. Kona's is a bit on the bland side. I got an itty bitty beer to go with my drink and didn't realize that the 5 ounce pour was basically the size of one of their little taster flight beers, but it's $4.25, where the 10 ounce is $6.25. Kind of wish my server had pointed out the 10 ounce is a better value, but they were extremely casual and seemed pretty distracted the whole time, so I don't think they thought to mention it. The 15% off for kama'aina makes the food a better deal. A nice place for a bite to eat and to try some interesting beers and seltzers on tap.
