Our tour guide and Manoa's own beekeeper Evan was such a wealth of knowledge in both the beekeeping process and mead making that it made the whole 2.5 hour tour go so quickly. Evan took our group to the nearby beehive location and gave us an in depth explain on how the bees make everything fr the honey to the honeycombs and wax as well as how a queen is selected. When we made our way back we got to the best part: trying 6 different meads offered right at their location and bottled there as well. A nice charcuterie board was paired with our flight. For doing the tour you get 10% off all purchases made which came in handy when buying bottles of their Lilikoi mead. They also have a huge variety of honey available and even some goat cheese from nearby Sweetland Farms. The hubs and I had just finished dinner and were actually headed to a dessert spot in the same plaza, but when we saw their taproom, we decided to get drinks instead and I'm so glad we did! We stopped by around 8 PM on a Saturday night. Surprisingly, it wasn't overly busy and there were plenty of open tables! The bartender mentioned they had a huge rush during the day and it had calmed down for the evening, which she said is pretty uncommon for a weekend night. We ended up getting two flights: Flight 1: Lilikoi Cider, Guava Lava Cider, and their rotating seasonal flavor, Lychee Hard Seltzer. All so tropical and well-balanced! Flight 2 (Hard Seltzers): Mango & Li Hing Mui, Mojito, and Ube Blu Bae. The flight pours are super generous, you get three 5-oz pours per flight! Every single flavor hit the spot, but the Lilikoi and Lychee were total standouts. Huge shoutout to Brett, who checked us out at the end! He was super nice and gave us the breakdown on all their awesome weekly specials. We'll definitely be coming back during the week to check those out and try some of their food menu next time! One of my favorite things is that you can still do a little wine tasting from the bottles they already have open, or pick a bottle from the shelf and have it opened for you. It makes for such a fun and relaxed experience. While they don't have the same food options as the Kailua location since there isn't a full kitchen, we still left completely satisfied. There's a small fridge in the back stocked with dips, bites, and desserts, and they provide crackers and bread to share. It's like girl dinner--but even better. Pablo was incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable about the wines and gave us great recommendations throughout our visit. We had such a wonderful time and can't wait to keep coming back!

The ambiance is very pleasant - it's a small, intimate space but we still felt like we had a lot of privacy. Lots of local art used to decorate which was nice. Pablo, the owner of the shop, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable about wine, and checked on us regularly. I stopped by Island Distillers last week and found it tucked away in Hawaii Kai near Kaiser High School. There's a row of marked parking stalls alone the street just in front of the building. When I arrived I was greeted by one of the workers, Brad, who was awesome. He gave me some samples of various flavors of vodka and mixes such as coconut vodka mixed with pineapple juice and hibiscus vodka mixed with green tea. Both were delicious! I came for the okolehao, so I tried that as well. I don't drink much, and I've never had okolehao before, but I thought it tasted good.
