We had a wild storm and a bolt of lightning found its way through our home (and myself, but that's another story). Nearly everything in the house with a circuit board was fried, including the A/C unit, furnace, zone control boards, and the physical air conditioner's contactor. Literally blown up! I called at 8am and Logan showed up three hours later. Basically, everything was busted or malfunctioning. Left was right, up was down, hot was cold. This lightning did a number on us. Seeing this mess, Logan called in for backup from Pete, the owner with decades of experience. Pete made it his mission to "hack" our system to making A/C for the night. It didn't seem too difficult for him, but you could tell he wasn't leaving until our baby daughter had A/C in her room (it's July). The next day, the men showed up with the replacement parts and a few hours later, we were back up and running 100%. They documented everything wonderfully for our insurance claim and even took a ton of time to chat and give me tips for the house we're building right now. I'll definitely have Pete come in and make sure the next house is configured properly. I'm sure there are other great HVAC services in southwest Austin and surrounding areas, but I won't need to find out. Pete's got my business no matter what. Thanks guys!!

Pete, the owner and his associate, showed up in his van (with their logo proudly displayed.) He introduced himself and spoke with my husband about our air conditioning issues. He knew right then and there the problems we were having. Both him and his associate spent over an hour cleaning out the system, keeping everything clean and neat. He even asked about our return filters and eagerly replacefor us with the filters we had on hand. We signed up for their maintenance program, which is a great deal!! Being held captive in a hot house with the still Texas Summer heat is brutal and we all know that is putting it mildly. I want to respond to the Nay-sayers on a few posts here. First of all, the new Operations Manager is Barbara and this woman is AMAZING! Don't have any experience with the former lady. WOW!!! Talk about taking ownership and taking it personal about making sure my HWA warranty wasn't lost in the shuffle of the Home Warranty of America company holding myself, and family hostage in a sweltering home in the summer. Let's just say HWA delays lasted 27 days nearly the entire month of May. It was getting hot. Thank God I live in an established neighborhood with many extensive trees that cast a ton of shade or it would have been UGLY!!! Thank God for Barbara who took calls on weekends, texted me regularly throught out the day, took her laptop to her child's baseball game to try and submit emails to HWA about my claim after her defined work hours. Yes we talked on the phone whilst she was at her daughter's softball game. Talk about comittment. She only put the phone down when he daughter was at bat. Talk about committment. She got on base by the way. Barbara took this situation very seriously, She escalated calls emails to Directors and Supervisors and was very communicative along the way. We stayed on hold with HWA so much it literally cost me hours of my time per week to try and keep them on their toes. Please understand that if you have issues with the delay in working with HWA claims around cooling concerns... IT"S NOT Cool Masters fault. I witnessed the debaucle first hand after like my own personal 5th and not final time calling ( seriously lost count) into the Authorization department. During this call with HWA, I was told there was a delay from the Authorization Department of 5-7 mins. That delay really equated to an hour and 10 minute way. Mind you this was after a 57 minute on hold wait time the day prior and I was just calling to check the status. The HWA program is rampant with lack of ownership of any of their employees to resolve anything. Their idea of help is passing an email and hoping someone reads it and then decide to resolve, authorize or pass the buck. It's a vicious cycle. I lost count as to how many time Barbara of Cool Masters and myself lost time and lost days waiting for authorizations for replacement parts to be released at the authorized part location for us to be installed. Their bumbling and ineptitude literally cost me and my honey about $3000 in lost wages ( I'm in finance and he's a Union Electrician so it cost us extra money) in awaiting appointments for them to release installers with the appropriate unit to be released. During this time Barbara kept up her end of the deal and then some. She communicated with me daily if not more than once a day to lay status of my claim and shared with me that sadly this is the same fate for many others. Unfortunately, not many as proactive, tenacious and persistent as I. I made it my mission for myself to engage the company and see the man truly behind the curtain at HWA. Sadly it was worst than Oz as no one ever took responsibility. Until the word lawsuit was mentioned. What they didn't know was I was going to be an attorney prior to doing what I do now and I actually knew what my contract meant as far as their obligations to me. So please, don't blame Cool Masters for the flawed nature of a horrible Home Warranty Program. Barbara and team are great. You just may want to be forewarned about the possibility of the madness that can ensue when laying claim with HWA. By the way, I promised Barbara a bottle of wine. You get a bunch of mad respect when you have to go to battle with someone for about a month's time when dealing with HWA.

My partner and I recently hired Daniel Escobar for a complete A/C replacement. We paid ~ $10,000 for brand new A/C and Heater, after all add ons. Timeline: July 19, 2022 - Installed A/C and heating unit. July 29, 2022 - Got A/C fully working to where there was A/C flowing to the downstairs . September 9, 2022 - A/C completely stopped working, condenser unit not working, no A/C flowing. Troubleshooted thermostats and condenser with no resolve. Emailed, texted and called, multiple times, Daniel Escobar, with no response (to date have not heard from Daniel Escobar). Observations by third party (see pictures): The return plenum, and filter box are undersized for the unit, and not properly connected. The furnace has been bent in when it was being installed, and it looks like the heating case isn't properly sealed anymore, and was taped up. Multiple sections of low voltage wiring is just the inner wiring with the colored insulation around the copper. The outer shell, and other wires aren't present. The proper fuse has been removed, and a 5amp popper has been placed in the unit. The system calls for a 3amp fuse. System may have a low voltage short. Screws are missing from the condenser, and furnace doors. The plug in the condenser isn't the correct plug for the board, it was from the indoor unit. The txv is over feeding refrigerant causing the system to not function correctly. The secondary drain line is open, and should be capped off. Due to some of the issues found it's possible a proper vacuum wasn't pulled on the system. Without a proper vacuum non condensables could be within the system. This could cause damage to the system. Cost to repair: ~ $1,700 (does not include cost for damage discovered during repairs - pending). Warned that if the brand new Furnace is irreparable due to damage caused by Daniel Escobar, it will cost around $5,000-$6,000 to replace. Request: Once the third party has completed the initial repairs from damage caused by Daniel Escobar's negligence during instal, we will send Daniel Escobar the invoice to reimburse us for the damage he caused to our brand new system during his negligent instal. If other issues are found, like the furnace being damaged beyond repair, request that Daniel Escobar reimburse us the cost for him damaging our brand new equipment during his negligent instal. We are not asking for the labor we paid him to damage our brand new equipment during the negligent instal. We love supporting small businesses, but in this case we were taken advantage of and flat-out robbed. We have given Daniel Escobar ample time to reply to us and discuss this issue, but Daniel Escobar has chosen to ignore our pleas. At this point, there is no trust or confidence and we just want reimbursement for the negligent damage caused during instal. Due to supply shortages (txv not available), we don't have a date when the repairs can be made so that we have A/C again, estimate is 2 to 6 weeks.

They discovered why my unit wasn't working with EM heat, it is because the previous company did not connect the wiring. AIM A/C connected it. That's the good. The bad is, during the AC Heat service, the technician did not flush out the drain pipe. During the year, the water in the drain backed up and the safety switch stopped the AC from working. I had to find a HVAC company and pay for a service call, in which this problem should not have happened if AIM A/C flushed out my drain pipe during their service call. Add to this, it happened on a Sunday, and when I called, I learned they do not work on weekends or past there normal business hours. They went from my go to HVAC company to off my list HVAC company.
