I took my husband and kids here for a scheduled 'call ahead' appointment. This was my first visit here. The staff were very friendly and kind to my kids. The interior definitely feels a bit dated and they have bins out with all their supplies so you know it's all clean. I would say they did a good job with nail painting and cleaning. She has outdone herself yet again!! I went to Japan for vacation but first stopped at Le Venus to get my nails done. I no longer live California but I fly back just for Le Venus. It's definitely pricey but so so worth it. This is the best salon i've ever been to. Everyone is so so nice especially the owner! Macy is amazing and calling to book is never a worry. I tried this nail salon, but was disappointed. I selected polish for my fingers and toes. When the technician put one or two strokes of polish on my toe, I realized that I didn't like the color at all. I said, "Oh, dear, I don't like that color." The technician turned to me and said in a scolding tone, "You picked it!" Of course I chose the color, but I realized I had made a mistake. Because I don't usually complain or want to inconvenience people, I just sank back into the chair and shut up. And then before I knew it, tears started to roll. It was humiliating. Needless to say, I did not tip. I just wanted to get out of there! Sounds pretty pathetic, but once I got to my car, I was able to cry freely. Obviously I will not go there ever again. read more

I recently moved to the area and was excited to try this nail bar, especially since it's down the street for me. I highly recommend young adults who are looking for the full spa experience to go elsewhere: the lady at the counter appeared as if she was already over her shift, the lady who did my toes looked upset. I am only giving it 2 stars since the girl who did my nails actually made an effort. The salon appears to be a mom and pop shop/style, as well as its customers LOL It's also overly priced. read more

My daughter came into this nail salon with her friend for a gel x manicure. She uses her money to pay for a manicure once a month. She usually gets them done in Pasadena or Sierra Madre and never pays over $65. They charged her $80 plus $15 for a cuticle cut (according to Macy) and $3.00 credit card. She ended up paying $100. I called and Macy's excuse was "her friends come in here all of the time." My daughter said she did not even trim her cuticles. Beware. Not prices are listed, as other reviews have stated. First mani/pedi in a salon since the pandemic and La Venus Spa did a magnificent job. (While I did my own mani/pedis at home, let's just say that my nail technician skills leave something to be desired....) I was able to get a next-day appointment for a weekday midday time. Upon arrival, I noticed that sanitation and cleanliness was excellent. Everything was being sprayed with alcohol and all the employees and patrons were masked. Safety and hygiene appear to be a priority for this business, thank goodness. Diane was the nail technician for my pedicure and she did a fantastic job. She excels at the massage portion and she should seriously go to massage therapy school. Ann was the nail tech for my manicure and she was also really good. Both showed a positive attitude and the vibe in the salon was overall super friendly. Yes, they do try to upsell you a bit on extra services but that is par for the course in every salon I've ever visited. I loved the hot towel wraps for your hands and feet, very relaxing. What a fabulous spot! I was so impressed. My mom booked an appointment for me, my sister in law and herself - 2 gel manis and 3 pedis. When we arrived, an entourage of women came out to assist all of us at once and we were all helped immediately! They did such great work, so much attention to detail and care. AND I had a small nail injury earlier this week and was totally expecting it to be just missing polish there, but on my pointer finger (top right where the nail is missing), she was able to hide it! Obsessed with this nail salon. Been coming here for years. Can't believe I'm finally writing a review! Lol. I travel 20-30 min just to come here. For the sake of time and gas, I've tried my local spots (like 5 other ones!) but they always disappoint. So I just plan better just so I can make it out here. Macy, the owner, is so so sweet. She's been since Day 1 and it's been well over 10 years that I've been coming... She runs a very well oiled business. Her nail techs are all so sweet and I've NEVER seen them be mean to any of their clients. The clients are also very nice and definitely have nail salon etiquette. No pretentious egos running around there. Chill.... Pro tip: They all massage your legs when getting a pedicure and it's always so so good. Seriously, this place DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I got my nails and toes done at the salon probably about a month ago, and I've still reeling at how much I spent at this place and wanted to leave a review. While the service was incredible, the nail techs were amazing, and the nails have lasted and they looked great, I'm really upset at how much the price was. I've never spent over $200 on nails and toes EVER. I got builder gel, French tip, chrome and a regular pedicure w nail polish (not even French on the toes). I knew it would be up there in price, like over 100 but almost 200?! Absolutely not. After I paid, I kept thinking in my head as to what the additional cost for the nails would have been, and came to the conclusion that it was probably for the removal of the dip that was on my nails and the gel that was on my toes. Just word to the wise when you come here ask upfront with the prices are before you get anything done. I'm really upset that I paid that much for nails because I would not have stayed. I'm about to get my nails done tomorrow and to remove the builder gel back to dip is gonna be five dollars not $30. read more

I've recently stopped going to the spa I've been going to for 20 years and decided to try some place closer to my home. The owner is incredibly professional and courteous, in person and over the phone. I received a dip service from Lynn and a spa pedicure from Lily. To say I'm impressed is an understatement. My hands and feet look and feel amazing! These two ladies were incredibly kind as well, which left me feeling just so grateful. Needless to say, I've found my new Nail Spa. Pricing is fair. As someone who suffers from social anxiety, a nail salon is top 5 of trigger establishments. Being confined to a chair in a salon packed liked sardines, hands & feet being worked on with no way out, no cell phone access, No wine, while everyone just sits and stares at each-other; analyzing each-others clothing/purses/appearance. Is there ANYTHING worse I wonder? My Nail lady who came to my house for mani/pedi's retired with no notice. Desperate, I bookmarked LE VENUS on yelp and went by for first time yesterday. A+ Service; took me in short notice (I legit called 10 minutes prior to arrival, not intentionally; again people with social anxiety constantly flip flopping on whether to go to a place depending on that day/mood) A+ Work. My nails look pretty & the honey scrub was magnificent. A+ CLEAN, COVID safe (everyone wore masks) A+ Energy. GENEROUS amount of distance between myself and the person to my left, right, across etc. I felt comfortable and did not feel like I was under a microscope. A+ Parking. Nestled in my hometown of Montrose, located in large shopping plaza so parking was breeze. PS: They offer many more services; tanning, body wraps, etc. I can not sit still longer than an hour so Ill try those in future; baby steps! read more

I actually really like the spa. It's the receptionist that's terrible. The service is good. The receptionist is rude and off putting. When I pop in, to see if they can squeeze me in, she says things like "too busy for you better make an appointment" duh, but I kits thought I'd check. I had an incredible nail experience, then came back for a second time and my cuticles were never taken care of, there was still some dirt in the crevices of my nails and after some thought I realized them never touched my nail beds with warm water, a hot cloth or cuticle oil, trimming my cuticles dry. Only my palms and arms saw moisture, because my nails spend their time in acetone and foil to remove the gel. the next day I returned and she looked at my nails and threw them aside, exclaiming that they don't soak nails and that's the new way. She did not sit me down to see what they could do, like every other good salon would do, and "it's my fault I have bad cuticles not theirs. I should wear gloves!" That gel manicure chipped within 5 days, while my first was perfect for over a month and until I came in to get it redone. There was something off about my second manicure, and it wasn't my fault. I get she's not fluent in English but her attitude is off putting and passive aggressive, I regret referring my family there. Otherwise the girls are lovely and I've had great gel manicures that last a long time! read more

NICE SPOT FOR A PEDICURE ======================= REVIEW #800 DIY pedicures during the pandemic were a necessity for me. Thankfully I didn't care about polish last summer. No one was going to see my lack of polish with grocery pick-ups, lunch or dinner pick-ups and social distancing anyway. I received my second Covid-19 vaccine in March so I felt safe to get a socially distanced and masked pedicure. Their chairs are spaced out well and they only use every other one. I will go back for more pedicures and possibly a manicure too. But for now I'll do my own manicures. read more

Wow! Not sure where to begin. Been going here for almost a year. Lin was my nail technician. Very strange nail salon. The owner told me Lin doesn't do pedicure and every time I went to the salon she was doing pedicure. I asked for acrylic she doesn't do. Did Gel X and asked her to remove it after 2 weeks and this is how she sent me home! She doesn't know how to remove GEL X the proper way. My nails are all nasty because of her. I absolutely loved going here. Macie and the girls were great! But Gel X gave me a horrible fungal infection which sent me to urgent care today. They are prescribing a topical, but if it doesn't work, then I would have to take a very serious, oral anti-fungal, which can damage your liver. They would have to monitor my liver to make sure I am ok, during this few month long process. I pray the topical works. I won't be back, and I will likely never do nails again. This is some serious stuff. I pray this never happens to anyone else. read more

Be weary of this place. They jacked their prices up without warning. I hadn't been there in 5 months and when I went to pay, the owner told me a price that was 30-50% higher than it was the last time I went. The same thing happened to my friend. A $30-40 pedicure was now $60. I used to pay about $105 for a gel x manicure and a pedicure. This last time it was $102 for just the manicure which was mind blowing. Their prices are about 30-50% higher than other places I've seen. They don't post their prices upfront which is a bit shady of the owner. I understand if you have to raise your prices because of supply cost and the economy. However, not warning a regular costumer about those changes till after the service is done is taking advantage of them. I used to love this place but I won't be going back. :( read more
