So where do I begin... I was a little flustered when arriving to Burke Williams. It was my first time there and no one warned me about the parking situation or that I would have to go down an alley to find the spa. I didn't plan for these issues which caused me to be late. I did try to call but the number isn't directly linked to the Pasadena location. However, they did promise to forward my message. When checking in I explained this to the receptionist and he treated me with the utmost care and respect. He pushed back my appointment time by 30minutes so that I had time to settle in and prepare for my treatment which I truly appreciate thank you. I was given a tour of the spa and introduced to all the amenities. My appointment was for the 60min 4-Layer Resurfacing Facial. When booking and confirming my appointment they did give me a heads up and informed me not to use the hot sauna or spa with this type of treatment. They also suggest arriving 30 minutes early to use the amenities but that was not needed considering the treatment I scheduled. After my experience I do recommend arriving early. The Pasadena location is near old town so it's pretty crowded and busy out there. I parked in the structure by Buca Di Beppo but while walking over I saw a small paid parking lot next to the alley where you find the spa. Now when it comes to my spa experience I must say I'm very grateful to have been paired up with Brindle (I hope I spelled her name correctly). They ask you to wait in the main room at least 5 minutes before your appointment. Apparently, I wasn't checked in correctly so I was waiting a little past my appointment time. They noticed me sitting/ waiting and started asking questions to help me. I love that everyone works as a team here. They apologized for the inconvenience and got me all situated with Brindle. I have to say... Brindle is the best esthetician! Now when I saw the description for the 4-Layer Resurfacing Facial I thought it was a chemical peel but if I understood Brindle correctly it's not chemical based, it's a less abrasive peel. Regardless, I loved it! I came into that room so tense and I left feeling like I was walking on clouds. Brindle has a calming presence and a soothing voice. I love that she is not afraid to get in there when it comes to getting those impurities stuck in your skin. Also, she is great with her hands. I find that a lot of estheticians are almost afraid to apply any pressure when massaging face/body. Not Brindle! She was right on the money. Overall, I had a great experience and hope to visit again in the near future. :) read more

For Christmas, my boyfriend got me a sweet and thoughtful gift card to Burke Williams. I decided to use it to explore new locations. Previously I have been to the Orange and Mission Viejo locations, so I thought it would be fun to check out the Pasadena location. It's in the Old Town area, and the nearest public parking lot is off Green and Fair Oaks. I really loathe paying for parking and having to walk over. For any first timers to Burke Williams, they are a luxury European style spa, meaning the spa area is generally naked. Bathing suits are optional. In the spa area, they have lockers, a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, showers, and vanity tables. There are also quiet rooms for napping in its' own area in the front by the lobby. This location only has the lobby as the co-ed hanging out area. Compared to other BW locations, they are smaller and more busy. I usually spend about 3 and a half hours at BWs and this time was the same. I started off with a strong shower. The other locations has their shaving cream for grabs outside, but this location has a shaving cream inside each shower. And then I went over to the jacuzzi, then the sauna, and then to the quiet room for a little nap. Then I showered again before my treatment time and headed to the lobby before my treatment. When it was time for 80 min Pure Relaxation Massage ($245 regular/$285 member pricing), Pearl came to get me from the lobby and welcomed me up the stairs. Most of their treatment rooms seem to be upstairs. The treatment room seemed to have the same equipment and general layout as other BWs but less square footage. I had an amazing time with Pearl. She started off asking me if I had any areas I wanted to focus on, and any injuries or areas to be careful with. She was thoughtful throughout the massage and made sure the pressure was to my liking. There was a good amount of massage oil used the whole treatment. I was soooooo relaxed. Pearl gave my wrist and forearm the additional attention I requested. When the massage was over, she placed my warmed robed on the table, just as expected with all BW massage experiences. I had such a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The highest compliment I can ever give someone is that I would come back and book another massage with Pearl. After my treatment Pearl walked me back towards the lobby and reminded me to stay hydrated for the next few days. She was super sweet and thoughtful and definitely the best encounter I had with the Pasadena location. After my service I went to take another shower and got ready at their vanity tables. Unfortunately there were MULTIPLE dirty brushes in the clean bin. Which reminds me the showers had a lot of hairs on the wall. Super turn off. There was a lot of staff in the spa area so I'm not sure if they missed it since it was so crowded or if they were more focused on other areas of the spa area. Staff also mentioned that this is the oldest location in the area... and I can see that... in the sense that the layout is less thoughtful than the other locations, such as locker rooms where you change is in high foot traffic areas. I waited for a bit at check out, but staff was very helpful. They were able to give me my day pass and bring a friend that was part of the gift card deal that the Mission Viejo location forgot to give me. Loved the massage and the amenities, but I don't enjoy the crowd and there's room for improvement with the cleanliness. I don't blame the business for doing well, but I do feel like they can maintain better cleanliness of their facilities for how much they charge for our services. Of the Burke Williams locations I have been to, my favorite is the Orange location which is the largest, and then Mission Viejo for an intimate quiet experience, and this places last. Nevertheless it's still a superior spa experience where I've never had a bad treatment at any BWs. read more

My daughter and I purchased a membership here while we were training for our 2026 Marathon. We have loved it so much, so that even two months post-race, we have continued going for massages! The therapists have all been amazing, and we love the spa amenities. It's always such a fun momma-and-me treat to enjoy the steam rooms and jacuzzi before getting an amazing massage. The facility is super professional, and they take every opportunity to make the place an inviting experience. I love how they are constantly cleaning, and they offer every kind of toiletry you would possibly need. I love a good spa and burke williams has been on my list to go to. I have one near my area but was in town visiting and my friend recommended this one. Overall the location is nice and the customer service is great. Do I think the experience is worth the money I wouldn't necessarily say so. I booked a deep tissue massage which was I believe $240. That's probably the most Ive paid. In my opinion I feel like the massage was good. I asked for more pressure and it was not a problem. I did get in the jacuzzi before hand and I also went to the quiet room to nap. I will say that they provide enough things for you to shower, do your hair and other things. They did offer a membership which would lower the price so I do think the point is to become a member and get the lower rate. My partner and I were very excited to use our gift cards that we gifted each other for Christmas to start of the new year right. This review is solely about our experience at the Pasadena location on January 3, 2025. I booked my partner and my services online initially because my partner wanted to ensure she got the same massage therapist as the last time she went, Tori. I booked a 65 minute massage and a 50 minute facial as part of the joyful retreat package. This was booked through the phone since we changed my massage from the one that I initially wanted in order to fit the package. My partner even asked on the phone to make sure she would be able to use the joyful retreat package gift card and the person on the phone said yes. FYI, joyful retreat is supposed to include 1 relaxation massage for 60 min, 1 H2V spa style facial for 50 min plus once choice of enhancement. My services were great. I loved my massage and my facial was perfect - I opted for the Vitamin C peel as my enhancement. This is the only reason I am making my review 2 stars instead of 1. However, when we went to check out, I was charged $40 over what I was supposed to be. We asked the cashier if the gift card was supposed to include the enhancement and she said she didn't know. She was not helpful and basically just charged us the price of the services separately instead of using the package to cover all service costs. Here's the thing, when you buy an advertised "package", the point is that you don't have to pay as much as you would if you bought all services on their own. The massage, facial and enhancement should have all been covered but instead the cashier just used the "cost" of the gift card and charged us the remaining balance... basically making the "package" part of it useless. My partner spoke to the manager, Liz Padilla, on the phone and she was unhelpful. We are now trying to resolve our issue with corporate. A warning to anyone going here: they will try to overcharge you, upcharge, upsell, add on, etc. I don't think it's okay that we bought this package for our specific services and then when we got there, still had to pay the full price. Do not go here - there are many other day spas or massage places you can go that don't overcharge and treat customers so dismissively. read more

We had a self-care day for the bachelorette, and it was the best massage I've ever had since I rarely treat myself. It was my first time there. My energy was super calm when we walked in, and the service was top-notch. I reserved a 50-minute deep tissue massage session, and the masseuse was very professional. She told me I might feel sore the next day and to drink lots of water to help with the soreness. I felt completely relaxed afterward. After our sessions, we met in the common area and enjoyed the jacuzzi, steam room, dry sauna, and showers. They even had bananas and cold ice water to keep us hydrated. Dyhmand was incredibly attentive- she took the time to ask about my areas of tension and focused on them with great skill, releasing a lot of the pain and tightness I'd been experiencing. She made sure the music was perfectly calming and checked in throughout to ensure I was comfortable and that my body positioning and ergonomics were supported the entire time. I have mixed feelings about my experience here. I came because my SIL got me a gift card and BW is a spa I've been meaning to check out. The facilities are very nice, they have many amenities and the staff are very on top of keeping everything clean. I came an hour early to use the spa and had a pleasant experience with the hot tub and sauna. I was relaxed and felt ready to enjoy my massage. Once my massage started is when things started going downhill. My masseuse Joanna was great, she listened and did what she could to keep me comfortable. However, I realized a few minutes into my massage that the AC vent was whistling and rattling so loudly that I could barely even hear the spa music. I asked my masseuse if that was normal and she said that if she opened the vent then the room gets really cold. But the whistling and squeaking was definitely annoying enough to brave the cold. However, once she opened the vent, the air blasting out of it was just SO LOUD, it drowned out the little ambiance there was left from the music. The only way I can explain it is getting a massage right on a busy highway. I tried my best for at least 30-40 min (of my 80 min massage) to drown it out and relax but instead all I got was a massive headache and I was not remotely enjoying myself in the freezing room. I didn't want to keep complaining but it got to a point where I would rather walk out than remain in that room so I asked her if it was possible to shut the air off. She said she would have to ask the front desk, so she left the room and assured me she would keep my remaining time which was kind. She came back a few minutes later and the air shut off another few minutes after that. Unfortunately, while the massage itself was great, it was overshadowed by the awful noise and I was already in such an agitated and unrelaxed state that the remaining time (20-30 min) wasn't enough time to get me feeling the way I do after a massage. I thanked her for her time and I knew the situation was out of her control. After I showered and went to check out, I told a man named Phil, who seemed like the manager about my poor experience. He told me they had just installed a new AC on that side of the spa and that it's better than being in a hot room. And essentially shrugged my complaint off as if I should be grateful that I had AC. For $230 + tip, I definitely expected better customer service. I was so taken aback because there wasn't an apology or any sort of attempt to make it right. Instead, after failing to placate me, he tried to sell me their membership. Maybe it's because I was paying with a gift card? First time visiting Burke Williams Spa today and it was better than what I imagined. I didn't know what to expect as reviews vary. But I can say my group and I had an amazing experience. Our facials were scheduled for 11:30am we arrived around 9:30am and enjoyed all the spa amenities. During that time the cleaning crew were on top of it! Everything was clean and well stocked. Hampers and trash bins were constantly being emptied. The cleanliness was 10/10. The amenities were well maintained as well (sauna, jet spa, steam room). My esthetician was Carmen. I got an 80 min facial. She is wonderful! Would recommend and will be coming back to her! She was so informative about my skin type and problem areas and walked me through everything. I immediately saw and felt a difference! I bought most products she recommended and I'm so excited to continue my skin care journey because of her. My only complaint which really isn't much of a complaint but the locker room is kinda tight. Getting there early is good but getting ready to leave it was crammed and we had to rush through the area. I've been to the Woodland Hills location a few times, so I was looking forward to trying this one. I'm glad I checked the records beforehand to prepare me for how small it is. Though it got really crowded on a Saturday afternoon, we were still able to find some space to do our thing. My sister really enjoyed her massage. She said it was so good that she fell asleep. I unfortunately didn't enjoy my massage at all. It felt rushed and wasn't relaxing at all. I did speak to the front desk and they gave me discount which I appreciated. I was told that you can stop a massage in the middle if you are not liking it. But being naked and having to get dressed then waiting for another masseuse just feels awkward. So I'm not sure if I would do that. The amenities are nice but small. In the locker area we were constantly in someone else's way. The dry sauna is very tight with comfortable space for maybe 4 people. The wet sauna had a little more space for maybe 6 people. The jacuzzi has space for maybe 10? There were 5 showers. So there was a moment when we had to wait for one. Anywho all in all it was a fine experience. The staff was super friendly, including my masseuse. So the experience was pleasant. But in the future I'd go to a larger spa, or go here at a less busy time of day or week. FYI there's a parking structure across the way where we parked. Burke Williams was to me the gem of Old Town Pasadena. Many people had no idea it is even there in the alley I have been going there for more years than I want to admit. I had not been in a few years and I enjoyed it but it was WAY too crowded..I Don't go on a Saturday. It is way too many people for their space. I usually like going close to closing on a weekday when there are hardly any people. The renovation of the interior is really a welcome change. I love the Burke Williams Chain and have been a member for several years now. I have never had an issue with service or any miscommunication before. Everything goes smoothly and I usually have a pretty relaxing time. My favorite therapists are Chi and Olive. They know what they're doing. If it wasn't for them, I would've cancelled my membership long ago. It's hard to find someone that massages the way you need. I usually go to the Hollywood location (much bigger and closer to my work) but this location is closer to my home, so I do like to come here for weekends. It's much smaller, so it can get pretty crowded. However, it is always clean and well staffed. I feel relaxed and pampered. I do have a request, I've put this in many surveys as well - as a 4' 11" female, I wish there were designated lockers that you guys could prep with the smaller shoes and robes so I don't have to ask for it every time. read more

I don't usually write reviews but felt the need to write one for a massage I had received. I had a woman named Yolanda and the whole massage was uncomfortable from Beginning to end. She started asking out how the pressure was and when I said "oh you could go a bit harder" she tried to immediately upsell me to a deep Tissue. I have had lots of Swedish massages before and the pressure she was giving was more a caress. She continued asking 4 or 5 times about the pressure and I just said fine as she wasn't going to improve it. Then in the middle of the massage ( I was quietly Trying to zen out and rest ) she stopped massaging and said " I just have to mention that I think you're not enjoying your massage and you want to leave ". I was so thrown off. I was just trying to rest. I reassured her (which was odd in itself), and just waited For The massage to end. What would I say to that naked on the table ? I felt Very vulnerable and uncomfortable Besides that the massage was very weak and lots Of Over the cover Pressure (think a cat walking on you in bed ). I was actually brave and told the front staff how uncomfortable the massage was, and what she had said , and they gave me a spa pass card. It felt like the massage was worthless. I absolutely look forward to every minute that I spend at Burke Williams in Pasadena. To me it's a little bit of heaven. The attendance are all very kind. The desk staff is helpful. It's clean. It's quiet. The whirlpool is always hot to steam is perfect, and my favorite spot is the silent room. read more

Came here a few times after the remodel and I think it's safe to say that they're now officially opened for business. They are fully staffed (if not more than usual), available appointments for all type of services; everything about this place looks new and smells amorelly fresh. I've been coming here for facial and massage for a few years and I have to say that the quality of services has definitely gone up. I did my facial with PJ and she was exceptionally nice and friendly, knew exactly what my face was like and spent quite some time explaining what I can do to make my face less dry and look alive. I also did their massage, though for the 30 minutes slot. The longer time slots were taken and they were pushing for the 30-minute slot so I took it. For the same price, the time is just way too short. Massage was good but by the end, it felt way too rushed and incomplete. Hence the 4 stars. Overall, good clean place to relax. A little overdue for review. Came in to use a nice package I received. I hadn't been in since the remodel. The remodel is very nicely done. I was disappointed in the quality of each person that I had. the masseuse was very aggressive and talked nonstop. The mani-pedi was just ok. The manicurist did next to nothing on my nails, barely filed, and did no work on my cuticles. The pedicurist did a nice job. The facialist was nice but again it was nothing special and she felt like she was barely touching my face at times. The neck and shoulder massage after the facial was practically nonexistent. It's really sad how poorly this spa has performed over the years. You can see a major decline in how it is managed. I would still go to Burke Williams but just not this one in Pasadena. read more
