If you're Ubering be cautious to put in the new address and not the old one that's a couple blocks away. So we tried again Saturday and came back Sunday! Saturday we had the Lumberjack & 2 and 2 with mimosas. Sunday we had the feta feta omelette and the waffle with fresh strawberries. Also tried a caramel iced latte. Both trips our tab was under $40 for yummy and fresh food! Less than a mile from our hotel and the price point being appropriate for the meal made us and our tummies smile :) The breakfast potatoes are SO GOOD with a little cholula drip! The pancakes came out so fluffy and beautiful like a cartoon. The cinnamon apples on the French toast are so yummy I got some on the side today to eat with my English muffin. I have a love hate relationship with this particular Le Peep. Love: First of all, it is walking distance from my apartment, which makes it very convenient for me. Second, they serve breakfast, which is my favorite meal of the day. Third, the service is great! The orange juice there is sooo good. Hate: The wait times there are ridiculous Sometimes it takes a while to get your food The food is just good, nothing spectacular Parking can be crazy as people park just about anywhere! One more thing I need to say is that you may end up waiting an hour, and see people who got there after you seated first! If you want breakfast, lunch or brunch with a wait and substandard service on an average meal, then LePeep is the place for you. While the decor is cute and the idea is top notch, this is better executed at a restaurant like La Madeline. I've never really understood the standing room only status at LePeep when there are so many other places to go in Houston. Sometimes the wait can be long, but I choose to go at off hours. The food is just ok. I know they do a bunch of healthy stuff like granola pancakes and egg white omelets, but nothing is incredibly awesome or awful. Today I shared the cinnamon roll with a friend. It's one cinnamon roll for $4.50. It seems very over priced. Then I got the grilled chicken sandwich. It's not a bad sandwich, but the french fries are very blah. They are very crunch on the outside with really nothing much inside of them. Overall, some of the items are a bit over priced. There are a variety of breakfast and lunch items, so you can please those people craving breakfast food. My husband loved Le Peep, but I think that's mostly because he knows he can get breakfast while I get some lunch. I'll be back because it has the good mix or breakfast and lunch in one location. I was really hoping for a good experience here. The place was clean, but it looked very dated and needs some basic upkeep. I asked twice about gluten free options. I mostly received blank stares and shrugged shoulders. When I showed them the online gf menu from LePeep, they told me that wasn't LePeep Houston. I wanted to cry. Great potatoes with onions a lil crunchy on the outside and well seasoned, egg dishes to die for and great coffee. I had an omelet, potatoes (cubed and under cooked for me) and coffee. Meal was great but was caught off guard when I walked in. With a name like Le Peep, I assumed this was going to be a somewhat fancier breakfast place but instead, it looks like a slightly nicer Denny's. This is in no way saying the food was like that but the look and feel of the place was nothing special at all. We came here on a Saturday late morning with a party of 9 and they told us about a 30 minute wait. They have coffee and water for everyone while you wait so it made it go by nice and quickly. The menu has a wide variety of options to please everyone and food is brought out pretty quickly. Couple thins to note: Their fresh squeezed OJ really needs some better oranges. My was not very sweet at all. Also, food portions are a pretty good size, so feel free to share your meal if you aren't to hungry. Great breakfast place, and very accommodating. read more

In my opinion, Houston lacks a lot of decent breakfast places that serves good breakfast/pancakes... There are some, but not a lot of good ones compared to say Dallas or even Austin. I usually go to Le Peep when I crave pancakes, plus it is family friendly. Like I mentioned, when I crave pancakes, I typically goto Le Peep. I love their banana pecan pancakes. They have a great variety of egg/omelet dishes and they all are pretty good. Their French toast/waffles are pretty good too (not New York's Ken & Ziggy's or Avalon Grill good, but good never the less) Like anyplace, service here can be good or lacking sometimes. If you go to Le Peep during any of the typical rush time, there probably will be a wait. Order a turkey pattie, get an burned up seemingly under cook pattie of what they say is turkey...I know this sounds oximoranic but only this place can be so conflicted. Please don't order grits, they are watered down. Ive eaten better grits laying in a hospital bed. Order potatoes you say, well they come straight out of a bag and microwaved. , What's left? order the pancakes but after the 3rd bite you'll loose your desire because of all the other nasty food on your table. This is my second visit after my first one at the Wilcrest location. This one is tucked away in a nice building. It's up to date which was refreshing. I love the vibe and atmosphere that's happening here. The staff had a pleasant energy that I would expect from a well oiled establishment who sets a great standard for others to follow. It has a cozy but contemporary design without the clutter. The food was extraordinary. I got the lumberjack which consists of two fluffy pancakes, 2 strips of bacon, grilled square potatoes, and 2 eggs. If you appreciate the taste of fresh squeezed orange juice, then you'll like what they offer here. It was a delight to start my day here. Aside from limited table space, it was a great Saturday morning filled with both healthy and non-healthy (if you so choose) options. The service was fast and reliable. They never forgot anything and there was one little lie they told us when we entered the restaurant: "The Wait will be 10 minutes" and it wasn't. The wait was about 2 minutes! Now, that's the kind of fib I enjoy :) Our friends recommended this place as "ideal for when the parents are in town" and indeed it was! :) I had the Hen House plate: 2 eggs, home-fries, and an English muffin. I ordered a waffle with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, as well a s a grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)! The waffle was crispy on the outer ring but somewhat soggy towards the middle of the waffle. There could have been a more generous portion of the fresh strawberries, although I did appreciate the whipped cream on a side in a cup so the hot waffle wouldn't melt it. They also served a cup of melted butter on the side which I thought was odd (I didn't use it). Pretty average breakfast, and it was a bit pricy; post-tax came to be $13.59; the waffle was $9 percent-tax and the large grapefruit juice was $3+. They seem to have "re-opened" recently but this was my first time there. It's a very basic diner vibe and food is really not that great, but at least you know what you're getting. The menu itself is HUGE, you can get breakfast and also lunch items two full pages. They are also NOT gluten friendly and they are not shy about saying that multiple times on the menu. The bottomless coffee is a pretty good deal, and the coffee is very strong. I ordered the Lumberjack which was a TON of food, 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, and potatoes all for $11.50 which is nuts. Unfortunately, the sausage wasn't very good and the potatoes came out a bit soggy. The pancakes were a little bit grainy and overall the food wasn't great. Everytime i came here I think "why I don't came more often?" It's near my workplace but it's wonderful. Only breakfast and lunch. (Ohh I wish it was open the whole day!). It's perfect for groups and for a table just for one. The place is nice, clean, comfortable, music (low enough to be ok), the people is always smiling, they speak English and Spanish. The menu have a lots of options (so difficult to decide!). Healthy options and the others ;) The pancakes are soft and big. The quesadilla chicken are perfect. The Caesar salad came with a delicious special bread. The California turkey sandwich is marvelous. The lemonade water is complimentary, and the marmelade as well. Best in Breakfast. Le Peep has been one of those Houston institutions that hasn't changed in many years, and that's a good thing. It's only open till 2pm, which makes it one of those places that you have to get to early and makes it just unavailable enough to want to make a trip to eat from their menu. The lattice work partitions between the tables and fruit and vegetable artwork is a blast from the past. I kinda feel like I'm in Florida eating at a Golden Girls Early Bird Special. I think they may be moving. We drive down a side street near the restaurant and saw a new building going up and Le Peeps sign was on the outside. On our visit yesterday, the manager visited our table to make sure we had everything we needed or requested. The food was delicious as usual! No complaints from my sons or husband.
