I wanted to LOVE this place so bad! I was sooooo excited to come here, my partner and I got all dressed up, and was so excited. Unfortunately, it was one disaster after another. I felt very mistreated and will never be returning, and have told many friends about my experience. We were given seats, and then after ordering coffees to start, our Waiter was extremely snobby, and a woman came over and say we no longer were welcome to sit at the table and grabbed my stuffed and told us to move to a table in the corner. I said we weren't even done ordering yet- if they were mad we didn't order more, they could have said that but we didn't have the chance. She looked at me disgusted and smiled at my boyfriend, and they ONLY would look at him and address him. I don't put the accusation of being racist out there EVER but I couldn't believe it. I felt very mistreated. Coat check was also a disaster, the woman rolled her eyes at me multiple times ( it kept being the wrong coat). I felt very defeated when I left- we were about to drop a pretty penny but they didn't even want to give me the time of day. Wouldn't look or address me. Was just devastated. read more

Hands down the most beautiful and poppin restaurant I've been to. We came on a Saturday night by the recommendation of a friend, who reached out to the owner on our behalf and got us in. It was Paris Fashion Week and the restaurant was PACKED. Upstairs is the restaurant with music and the downstairs is a club. For dinner we had frites (obvi), tomato and creamy burrata salad (bomb), spiced tomato penne, and a bottle of wine. Everything was delicious, and as busy as the bustling the restaurant was, our server was great. The owner even stopped by to say hello. Great experience. read more

Trendy place in a prestigious avenue. Beautiful people everywhere. Nice ambiance music. The food is very good, but the overall bill is a bit exaggerated (125€ per person, including wine), which prevents me from going 5 stars. This is mostly a place where you go if you need to show off your new designer dress or suit. Which is fine from time to time. read more

My absolute favorite place in Paris. I have gotten bottle service here many times in the club below the restaurant, and also dined here on a regular basis. The staff is friendly and extremely good looking, the food is always amazing, and the service is focused and impeccable. If you are looking to go to the club down below, definitely go on a Wednesday. Also, don't show up in shabby clothing, you will be embarassed and maybe not even let in-bring your Chanel for this one. Upon arrival, the hostess would not honor the reservation, blamed the reservation system, said they tried to call as many people "as they could" (but apparently not us ,in fact we tried calling them several times prior to arriving with some questions about menu and they didn't even answer their phone). As far as doing even the least to rectify the situation, the hostess shrugged her shoulders and expressed nothing but disdain and disrespect for our party, took no responsibility for the situation, and offered no assistance in accommodating us. If the table service and food preparation is as abysmal and without regard to customers or accuracy as the host desk was, expect a very dismal and regrettable experience at Matignon. I highly recommend not subjecting yourself to an experience that makes an attempt to appear chic and trendy, but ends up looking like a sad attempt at trying to be cool when they are simply incapable of doing the proper work to achieve it. Lame food; over priced; biggest ripoff in Paris. Trying to be too cool, forgot to focus on the food and customers. Pasta was cold, tasteless; fish / sole was like leather. This place starts hopping after 10pm. If you have what it takes to get a table you will have a fabulous evening with great food great service and beautiful people that are there to see and be seen. I came here with my Black American friend who seriously looks like Zoe Saldana, if not prettier. A group of men sitting on the outside of the restaurant were asking her for company and drooling as she approached. But the bouncer Sebastian would not allow entry and said her face/look wasn't what he was looking for (that's the explanation he gave after saying there was a private party and then letting in a white blonde girl). had reserved for today night May -3- 2018 and confirmed my reservation by my hotel as well as by email, however, When i arrived , the restaurant was almost empty but they gave me small table inside near the emergency door and in-front of the wall!! and when i ask them to change my place they said they can't because they are reserved already!! oh really !!! We also have reservation ! She told us let me check ! She come back again and said i can't change because they are the regular customers! We told her but we arrive first so when they come they can have this table instead!! Surprisingly, she said they know their tables !!! Actually , she did not convince us so we left the restaurant without having the dinner there And She did not even tried to fix the situation specially that the tables are still empty. We came here on a Monday night through a recommendation of a friend who is a Parisian. Ambiance was a 5 and the DJ in the dining room was perfect for the evening. He struck the right balance of cool vibe but not heavy beat as its not a dance floor. Deep house. Food was a 5, from the appetizer to steak to their famous French Toast. Service was a 5 which was not what I was expecting for such a trendy spot. What made it even more perfect was that we just walked downstairs to the club after dinner.
