I used to frequent a nail salon in the Oak Lawn area and a visit there cost me about $70 for solar tips. After my move, I was in the market for a new home nail salon closer to my new place and less expensive. So I got on YELP and searched by zip code. After reading a few disappointing reviews about other places, I found Colorful Nails. It was so close to my work AND home. Other posters had such nice things to say about them so I called to confirm the price for a new full set of white tips ($23) and set an appointment for after work (5:45). As it tends to happen, I got caught up at the office which made me 15 minutes late for my appointment. I called on my way in and let them know I was running behind. When I got there they were gracious and got me right in - even though I was the late one. My nail tech was Mary. She was super sweet, she listened to what I wanted (I like my white tips a bit on the long and square side) and got right to work. Man was she fast and skilled! She did not hurt or nick me even once! No "pay for the pain!!!" It's true that this place is a no frills kind of joint and they clearly pass that savings on to their customers. My nails were done perfectly and quickly, look amazing, and the total (with service and tip) was $35! That's HALF of what I used to pay! I will be using Colorful Nails from here on out! The staff was very welcoming, and we appreciated that they told us the pricing upfront--no surprises there. The drinks were a nice touch, and the salon had a friendly and clean atmosphere. My nail tech was very kind and clearly a perfectionist. She did get a little frustrated when I moved my hand, but I could tell it came from wanting everything to be just right, which I appreciated. At one point, I told her I felt a burning sensation on one of my nails, and she immediately applied a calming spray, which helped. Unfortunately, my best friend didn't receive the same level of care. During her appointment, she mentioned that her nails felt hot while the acrylic was being applied. Her tech said that happens sometimes, which we understand, as it's not unusual. But several hours later, my friend's nails are still hurting her, and she was not offered anything to soothe the discomfort, unlike I was. It feels like her concerns weren't really addressed in the moment. Additionally, she asked for a tapered square shape, but the tech told her she should ask for coffin nails next time. We know what a tapered square looks like, so that exchange felt unnecessarily dismissive. Another reason for the rating drop is that we were charged for "length"--but we both got fairly short nails. We even posted photos because it's unclear where that extra charge came from. I'm not expecting a refund, and I understand that a salon in downtown Dallas will likely cost more, but with higher pricing should come a more consistent quality of service. While parts of the experience were positive, the discomfort my friend is still dealing with, along with the shape miscommunication and unclear pricing, made this visit fall short of expectations.

I was forced to pay for the repair of both nails for $20, shortly after which the tip they put on to repair the broken nail chipped. I have been getting my nails done for many years and have never run into problems like this. I work a desk job and take good care of my nails. Unfortunately, this is also not the first time I have had issues with broken and cracked nails going to this salon. Disappointing!

I hesitate to write this review because I don't want to expose this hidden gem! There are a million…read morenail salons up and down Lovers Lane, including one a few doors down from Le's Nails. It would be easy to overlook the nondescript store front, and it's not exactly remarkable looking once you get inside either. All that being said, Le's Nails is far and away the best nail salon I've ever been to anywhere. Perhaps most importantly, Le's Nails is always impeccably clean. No doubts about sanitation here! Le and his team are attentive and friendly, and they will give you one heck of a shoulder massage as part of your manicure service. They greet me by name when I walk in... an experience so rare in this day and age, it's a little startling every time it happens! There seems to be an unspoken rule amongst Le's customers to keep their voices low if they talk at all, and you would not believe what a difference it makes towards a peaceful and relaxing experience. This place may not be a luxury spa, but I leave feeling as though I've visited one! About half the time I end up falling asleep in the recliner chairs while my nails dry. Prices seem reasonable or even cheaper than the norm, although I'd certainly be willing to pay a premium here! That's all well and good, but ultimately the whole reason you go to a nail salon is for the results. I personally don't like to go in a Nails Salon because of the acrylic smell, however, this place doesn't have that smell at all. According to the owner, they don't offer acrylic services, which keeps the smell away from the salon. Their price is average. Their customer service is great. Ask for Karen. She did my wife's nails and she will pamper you.
