We had a social distanced magical dinner in their beautiful outdoor gardens with red umbrellas and great ambiance. My 94 year old mother said it was like a movie set. Magical and as close to Italy as we are going to get. The food was delicious and my moms favorite is the home made tiramisu. Had yet another excellent dining experience at Le Fontane for Easter brunch. The lamb was as good as any I've had recently, beautifully trimmed, seasoned and cooked. The pastas are all al dents and are made in house. The meatball appetizer is extraordinary. I've had excellent fish, veal and chicken entrees and the overall quality is excellent. The disaster has began with a crowd of 20-25 people, with reservations(!), clustered by the entrance waiting 45-50 minutes to be seated. It is November. Middle of pandemic. The management/owner of Le Fontaine should have known the danger of creating unsafe environment. Our reservation was at 6:30, we got seated at 7:10. Wine was served 30 minutes later. To be completely transparent, I have to give credit to the hostess by letting us have drinks on the house to compensate wait time. We ordered appetizers and were notified that they ran out of it 30 minutes later and we had to cancel it. Our meal arrived at 8:35. The only problem was the dish that was placed in front of me was not what I ordered. Immediately I picked it up and returned it back to the waitress indicating that I didn't order it. Her response was "Well, can't you have it". Can I have it? Seriously? I came to this place with a couple of friends on Saturday night after a long week... Apparently they ran out of food that I ordered and decided to improvise...I can't explain their rationale. I had a conversation with the manager, was offered another meal and a discount. Have not been here for years and after the wonderful dining experience my wife and I had last night I will not let that happen again. We did not have reservation but were still welcomed and provided a very nice seating location even with a fairly busy evening. The service, food and drinks were impeccable and we followed the suggestions of our server and could not have been happier. I had the elk osobucco (sp) that was delicious and melted in our mouths, my wife had the scallops and shrimp over spinach. The scallops were cooked to perfection (we like them well done) and the spinach was the sweetest I have ever had. Homemade Pasta at its finest. My three sons and I have been coming here for decades. The food is extraordinary, the restaurant and staff are professional, warm and have been with the restaurant for years. There is a wonderful space for family celebrations, birthdays and events, as well as private spaces for quiet dinners and more intimate gatherings. The covered outdoor patio is wonderful in the summer and the seasonal entre choices as well as the standard menu are superb. An excellent restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Only get here now once a year, but dined on the garden area las night. Antonio the owner always pleasant and will stop by to greet you and make sure you're happy with everything. Food is always good and always a surprise with new combinations of dishes. Many classic entrees there for years. Worked at PepsiCo nearby and always had many celebratory occasions there. Great restaurant. Owner is wonderful. Knows me and my takeout order well. Very friendly and attentive waitstaff. I've been going to this place for years and the food is always up to par. Very consistent, quality Italian food. I usually get a Fontaine salad which has excellent homemade dressing and either the rigatoni shrimp and scallops minus the scallops in a vodka sauce or the osso bucco. I always wanted to try this restaurant and finally had the opportunity this past Saturday night. The food is delicious but was not so happy with the servers service. We ordered appetizers first and then the server took our main course meal. To say the least, the appetizers were delightful and I was enjoying the end of them and all of a sudden the server brought out our main meal and we were not even finished with our appetizers. It kinda felt rushed and not timed properly although we took our meals that too was delicious. Noise levels were fine, however we did need more lighting at the table to be able to read the menu. Out came the I-phone flashlights! Worst experience. i have been coming here for years. It started with waiting almost an hour for a table even though we had reservations. The parking lot was filled with other customers some of whom waited over an hour. The service was extremely slow and when waiter finally came we were told they ran out of several items on the menu. Second visit for a party and they ran out of food both times. I think they try to get away with not giving you your moneys worth when you have a party, even with salad!!!! They serve you and then if you go back up they tell you that not all tables have been up , they got a lil nasty and told me to go sit down and I said no I wanted salad because I didn't get it when I went up prior. It starts out with everything coming out on nice large platters or plates but as the people eat and they replenish them with smaller and smaller plates until they run out of food and then it's a wrap! I can say I have NOT been here for dinner , hope that is better than the party part! The wait staff were nice and kept busy but the head gentleman was not so pleasant he can use a little attitude adjustment with the guests not only the people that paid for the party. read more

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. We had a terrible experience here for a private party. They were 0/3 in terms of food, drinks, and service. Living in katonah and trying to give to the community as oppose to traveling to another town, we decided that we will never be doing that again. Our food was supposed to be refilled as a buffet yet we only got one serving. The appetizer also came out at the same time as the buffet. People at our party had to pour their own drinks at the bar due to the servers standing behind the buffet rationing portions. Bread was served after our meal when it was no longer needed. Even after our complaints and payment the owner was adamant that he had done a good job. Will never go back to this place again and am warning others to not have their parties here EVER!!!! read more

They were very accommodating of us having a baby in a stroller and have us a big table. The service was outstanding, our waiter was very attentive and the food delicious. My sisters and I finally went out to dinner on June 19 and we chose this lovely restaurant. I have the Zuppia De Pesci and my sisters had the eggplant ravioli and the rigatoni shrimps and scallops. I first went to Le Fontane about 6 years ago. While the food was acceptable, I had a very unpleasant experience. The waitress dropped a dish, which fell on and broke a glass of red wine. Glass was all over my daughter and her outfit was stained. There was no apology, nor any compensation. Upon leaving, I expressed my annoyance over the cavalier attitude of the staff to the owner.. He asked me to come back again and took my name and address so he could send me a complimentary gift certificate, which, by the way I have never received. Recently, against my better augment, I went back.. When my dinner arrived, I purposely divided it in half, with the intention of eating half and bringing the other half home. After paying the bill, I reminded the Waiter about my "Doggie bag". He said that it had accidentally been thrown own out but they were making me a fresh replacement. After waiting 20 minutes, the food arrived. When I got home I opened the foil container to find only one third of what I had left over, not half of my dinner.. I am pretty sure a new portion was not cooked for me, but instead they managed to scrape some of my left overs out of the garbage. Of course, I immediately threw out the food. If you encounter any sort of problem at this restaurant, do not expect it to be satisfactorily resolved. I am done with Le Fontane ... there are many good restaurants in the area that value their customers ...This is not one of them. read more

We haven't been offered a free round of drinks to make up for our entire party being treated like this and essentially being kept waiting in a box. The only reason we even choose this place over better options was that we assumed that there was larger portion sizes for members of our party that are bigger eaters. An absolute disgrace. The hostess is nice enough, but I don't even care to leave a tip at this point. We should have chosen anywhere else. The food isn't good enough to warrant a half hour wait without reservations. Definitely not with. Don't bother coming here. They aren't even trying to do anything to fix it. Will never come here again. Absolutely outstanding always!!! By far one of my favs! Warm and inviting atmosphere (fireplace) with the best staff who always remembers your name and makes great recommendations. The food is authentic Italian with housemade pastas. Their eggplant rollatini is fantastic (I usually get it every time I am there, lol). One of my favorite salads is the Mediterranea... prepared in the true European fashion (just like my Dad makes). Fresh made bread, yummy pizza and excellent seafood dishes... I really can't say enough about this Katonah restaurant. Great happy hour too (starting at noon now!). We had been there twice before, last time probably 5 years ago, went in expecting a quick bite but were pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. My wife had an avocado, mozzarella, and sun-dried tomato salad that was fresh and tasty, I had grilled sardines that were delicious.
