Rustic yet elegant environment at Le Fanfare

4++ Was a while since we visited Le Fanfare, but the idea of going Saturday night was exciting, and as the evening progressed memories of past visits came back. Previously I recommended going for the pasta, and that still holds. Their homemade pasta and accompanying sauces - some traditional, like Cacio e Pepe or Carbonara, and some unexpected such as arugula pesto - are delicious; simple and elegant, very close to authentic Italian cuisine. The menu isn't extensive but offers a good variety of dishes no matter what you crave. Their special appetizer Cacio e Pepe arancini was fabulous, as was the gnocchi and fish of the day. The room was full and energetic with conversation but not too loud. Their staff is still very much on point, and committed to making the experience memorable. We sat at the long communal table and enjoyed light pleasant conversation with guests nearby. The ambiance manages to feel rustic but also upscale. Maybe it was the bottle of vermentino, but I think it was the whole experience that had us walking out with a bit of a buzz. Will keep this on our short list.

Such a great Italian spot in Greenpoint with a really nice ambiance. There was a live piano player, which made the night feel fun and cozy, and the service was excellent. The staff was super attentive and very accommodating to someone in our group who was dairy free. They double checked with the kitchen and offered great alternatives, which made us feel really taken care of. We did the three courses for thirty five dollars, which is only on Sundays, and it was definitely worth it. I'd recommend getting there before eight so you can enjoy more of the live music. The meatballs and mussels were amazing appetizers, especially the broth with the mussels. The lamb pasta and the dairy free pasta were both really good, and the cannoli was a solid dessert. The space is cute and intimate, perfect for a small group. If you're in the area, this is a great spot for a relaxed Italian dinner with good food and live music.

An absolute gem and a Greenpoint staple. Le Fanfare is a bit further down and away from the busy intersection of Manhattan Avenue and Greenpoint Avenue but trust me, they are definitely worth a visit. The staff is ultra polite, all the pasta made fresh in house and last but not least, the casual friendly atmosphere makes the whole experience, super relaxing. This is a Greenpoint Italian not to pass up.

Overall, solid neighborhood spot with a stylish flair. Came here on a Tuesday for a quick celebratory dinner. Loved our table by the wall, very private and ample space. The decor in this restaurant is thoughtful and I can tell they planned it out, or it is a lucky chance it turned out so well. Food was good - shishito peppers, short ribs, duck pappardelle, and apple cake. All were delicious with excellent flavor combos. The apple cake surprised me as the lemon curd pour over enhanced the flavor and texture. Lovely ambiance, would return.

Food is just ok. I recommend the Mon\Tues/Wed $15 dinner pasta but I wouldn't pay full price for it. :( Service is totally good. My cocktail was great. Half of the ambiance (I.e. the booths) is great. The family style table and tiny tables on the side are not so great. I need backs on my chairs.

Came to greenpoint to try some amazing cocktails and food at this cute little spot! They have family style seating , bar seating and booths in addition to a small backyard with outdoor seating. We started our meal with some amazing cocktails. Then we tried the mussels , cacio Pepe , agnolotti (all their pastas are amazing and they have pasta specials on some days, market fish and tiramisu. They also have live music on some days. The staff is very friendly and gave us some great recommendations!

We made a walk-in reservation at Le Fanfare and were seated at the time promised at around 9:15 pm on Sat night. The place was still busy and noise levels were on the average end. Our waiter Carlos Garcia was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay! He was very friendly and interacted a lot with our four year old, who too had a lot of fun and had a lot of stories to share! We got a bottle of the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo ($54) and ordered a few starters which included Burrata ($17), Grilled Octopus ($21), and Roasted Cauliflower ($12) - all of which were really tasty. The Bucatini Di Gragnano ($23) pasta I ordered was probably tasty too! I just had too much wine that night for me to remember exactly how it tasted *smh*. Food arrived pretty quickly, and service was outstanding. We will visit again for their hospitality, and excellent food!

My brother and I went here on a Sunday night. It wasn't super crowded but busy enough. They had a Sunday dinner menu where you chose an appetizer, entree and dessert. We split the apps. We got the mussels and meatballs and separately got the burrata. The meatballs were cooked in a white wine sauce and were different but really good. The mussels were amazing. The red sauce was fantastic. The burrata was delicious and flavorful. I got the Malloreddus with Berkshire Pork Sausage, Marinara, and Pecorino. I have ZERO regrets. My brother got the Tagliatelle with Lamb Ragu' and Pecorino. He definitely enjoyed his meal as well. For dessert we both got the tiramisu and it was light and fluffy. I paired it with a cappuccino. It was a great little spot and the staff was efficient and provided excellent service. We never had to ask for anything.

Updating this review to 5 stars! I had a large group dinner here over the holidays and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They were amazing and everyone had such a great time! The food was delicious, still dreaming about the brussels sprout salad--a must try! The cocktails and desserts were also very yummy. The chocolate ganache was divine. Will definitely be coming back!

The Highlights: * Polpo (Octopus): This was the standout for me. The octopus was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of saltiness and it paired beautifully with the creamy potatoes underneath. A very well-balanced dish. * Salad: Sometimes simple is best. The greens were incredibly fresh and the dressing was light and balanced--not overpowering at all. * Classic Tomato Spaghetti: You can always judge an Italian place by its red sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, staying true to the traditional Italian style. It was simple, fresh and deeply satisfying. * Chicken Dish: The chicken was surprisingly tender and juicy. It's often a basic choice but they executed it perfectly here. Overall: Naked Dog offers a cozy atmosphere with food that feels both elevated and comforting. Bouquet is a small business that hasn't promoted much on Instagram or Eater, so it seems to have gone under the radar. I'm hoping I can do it justice as the first reviewer on this platform. We stumbled upon Bouquet during a mini bar crawl in Greenpoint. We initially planned to hit a few spots, but ended up settling in here for most of the night. We were mostly served by Eric who I believe was the owner operator. He's a NYC native who is super passionate about wine. The wine bar focuses on natural wines and other wines which emphasize minimal additives. The goal here seems to be to sell from producers who try to capture magic in a bottle. The wine list is three pages, so it's long but still approachable. There are about ten wines available by the glass. I started with a Montelpuciano. I sampled a bit and found it to be gassy and funky. The bartender was receptive to my feedback and made another recommendation - a different wine from the Loire Valley. The second option was more of what I was looking for. It was a more structured wine with a more traditional palate. I decided to eventually circle back to the Montelpuciano for my second glass. I'm stubborn and like to give a different flavors a chance to grow on me. I'm a person who doesn't like blue cheese but continually tries it just to make sure. The aroma of this wine was minerally. The best description I have is an Iron adjacent smell. Almost like blood but not the same. The flavor was earthy and rooty. It was the best part of the wine. It had a short finish. I'm no wine expert, but I can tell I was tasting something special. The last time I had wine like this was at a wine making competition. I also tried some of the wine on draft. It was an easy going wine that you could easily have a few of. We didn't have any food, but it seemed like the signature of the menu was their smash burgers. They also had some small bites like fries, cheese, olives, charcuterie, and salads. The other big items were schnitzel and the Rigatoni Alla Vino. The operator said the Rigatoni was an ode to a dish from Don Peppe's - a locals' favorite Italian restaurant in Queens. The space is welcoming. It part of the new wave of wine bars that aren't stuffy. It's about trying fun and experimental wines. Young stuff. Not necessarily hawking out for carefully aged vintages. It's fun and the team is very hospitable. Music is what I'd expect from a Queens local. Lots of 90s and 2000s hip hop. Playlist was filled with A Tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli, and Common. They have some big speakers and turntables for vinyl records. They had a new record from Future which I suppose is something to boost for audiophiles. Acoustics here were as good as any listening lounge that we've been to in NYC. Entertainment wise, they have some board games behind the bar. No TVs inside the bar, but they have a projector in the backyard which can be used for special events. Two gender neutral restrooms. The one I used was handicap accessible. There is a step to enter the establishment, but they have a button to press in order to request assistance with entry. Good luck to Bouquet! They'll certainly be my go to for wine in Greenpoint.
