I had heard this restaurant was beautiful but WOW it was gorgeous. Much more elevated than I was expecting! Lychee martinis were sooo good. And definitely order the Brussels sprouts! I got the pork belly special as my main and it was good but would probably order something else next time. The dessert however blew me away with the presentation. Amazing! Great service and great spot for an occasion

Came here today, Friday around 4PM! I am giving this place a five star because of their service. Our party was having a rough time people cancelled, people were running late and one our people sitter cancelled last minute so our friend had to bring her small children. With all of these-- the restaurant was accommodating, KIND, and non- judgemental. They really surprised me. The host WAS SO SWEET and friendly!! (Girl you made our experience) And the waiter too! We were sat quickly-- good menu and good mocktail options. I ordered the ravioli and spicy shrimp. I LOVE the ravioli, it wasn't what I was expecting but delicious. The shrimp was good but nothing special. I also ordered a shaken black tea-- very good. If you like sweet drinks, skip it. For dessert, we had the creme brulee and it was tasty tasty. I would definitely come back here again. It would be great for a date night and girls night.

Le colonial was a fun experience. We were a big party and had a prior reservation. The ambience is very beachy and tropical. Felt like summer was back when we walked in. Overall, the menu isn't super vegetarian friendly but we were able to adjust. We ordered the crispy vegetable rolls multiple times cz they were our fav. We also ordered chicken dumplings, spicy beef salad, spicy chicken stir fry, noodle stir fry, and finished strong with warm chocolate cake. It was fun to watch the flambé melt the cake at the table. Overall the food is decent for vegetarian but really good for meat eaters. For cocktails we got a bunch of different cocktails, they were decent but very strong. This place is very pricy so be careful of that!

I visited for my birthday. It was a snowy January night. The staff was great and provided exceptional service. The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfectly elegant without being stuffy. I really want to go back to experience the bar area...looked like fun vibes!

This is one of the best restaurants in chi that I've been too omg the food is amazing, the decor is super nice and lux, and the service is great!!!! Carlos is one of the best bartenders!!! Every dish we got was a hit: baby back ribs, shrimp on sugarcane, monkfish, garlic noodles. Will come here over and over again!!!

French/ Vietnamese fare. They have a dress code. Basically no hoodies or exercise clothes. People dress fancier at night than for lunch. My friend and I shared garlic noodles with chicken. She had eaten here once before and raved about them. They lived up to her hype. Nice service. Id return to try more of their menu!

This place is no joke. I'm OBSESSED already. Service - 10/10. Food - 10/10. Ambiance 10/10. 5 stars all around (or 10). I've heard of Le Colonial so many times but never got to try it until recently. Yes it's pricey and fancy but you get what you pay for. The dishes are on the smaller side, but for a group of 6 we got over 10 plates and were all nicely full. I would come to this place alone for the vibes and decor, I adore how it looks like inside. There's a sun room in the front with lots of natural lighting come in and a bar/dining room more indoor that's dim lit. You got best of both worlds. The food was just spectacular, I don't even know what to say. Just go here!!!

It's been awhile since I came here and it did not disappoint. Food was excellent overall. It was a perfect place to celebrate a special day. Service was great too. Enjoyed our seats looking over the street. Valley parking is available but we were able to find a street parking for ourselves.

Book the reservation, I promise it's worth every penny. If I could give it more stars I could. I've recommended it to everyone I know. Every bite is a bite worth cheering for. The food was to die for!! The service impeccable and the ambiance is like no other. Can't wait to go to the one in delray

Fancy Vietnamese food spot. Heads up- they have a dress code. As someone who grew up eating Vietnamese food, I'd say the flavors were actually pretty decent and spot on for a place that doesn't seem "authentic". We ordered pho, mushroom sticky rice, egg rolls, and vermicelli pork. The broth in the pho was pretty good, they only gave me like 3 pieces of beef though. The egg rolls were crunchy and the stuffing was tasty! The vermicelli in this bowl was overcooked and mushy. Not bouncy like it should be.

If Le Colonial is on your "places to go" list, let this be the sign to not walk but run to this place... and in decent heels. From the service to the ambiance, Le Colonial is a delight. There is not a single item on their menu that was disappointing. From the garlic noodles, to the monkfish, the savoury items leave you wanting for more! Try as much as you can.

This ended up being one of my favorite spots while visiting Chicago. The ambience is honestly stunning. It feels very French, like you're sitting outside on those beautiful Parisian café chairs. The view overlooking the shopping area just adds to it. Every part of the restaurant is so picturesque, you can tell a lot of intention went into the design. I really appreciated the atmosphere they created. I've rarely seen a high-end Vietnamese restaurant executed this well, so I was pleasantly surprised. The service was also lovely and attentive without being overbearing. For food, the shrimp on sugarcane and the monkfish small plates were my absolute favorites, do not skip those. So flavorful and memorable. The beef noodle soup had an amazing broth, super rich and tasty, but nothing wildly unique beyond that. Still solid. The chicken curry was sooo good. I loved the mango and cashews! such a unique combination and really delicious. Overall, I'd absolutely come back. Even just for the ambience alone, it's worth it. Perfect for a special dinner or when you want something that feels a little elevated but still warm and inviting.

Steamed seabass (Ca Hap), Spicy shrimp (Tom Xao Sate), Shaking Beef (Bo Luc Lac). Pandan Noir for desert (w BD candle). All delicious!

This is a perennial favorite when dining out in Gold Coast. I used to live in Chicago and frequented this restaurant when it was located on Rush street and it's just as delicious in current location, with a more posh vibe vs the intimate ambiance of prior location. Great place to have a lovely meal with a group of girlfriends gabbing the night away.

Is there valet parking? If not, how close is the nearest parking garage?

Yes, there is valet parking. There are also a lot of parking options you can pre book through spot hero.

Is the dress code enforced even during a late lunch/at the bar? I'm traveling very light for a quick trip and likely would be in jeans and I'm trying to determine if I would even be let in...

No, it's not but you may stand out because it is a bit dressy. I went in jeans and a knit sweater last time.

If I am allergic to fish and shellfish, will I have trouble ordering?

No, i have a shellfish allergy, and they have several choices. There is fish sauce on some items. But talk to your wait staff when you come in.

Is this restaurant wheelchair accessible? Upstairs?

Hi! They have an elevator on the first floor to upstairs and the aisles are pretty spacious to get around the tables. Hope this helps!

Do they offer first come first serve seating?

I would recommend making a reservation for the dining rooms as it gets quite busy, especially during the evening rush. However, the bar area does not take reservations, walk-ins welcome, and also serves the full menu.

Is this location still open?

Yes it is.

Establishment - the space is small, only a few half booths, but they have patio seating when the weather is warm. The decorations inside the space were so fun and paid homage to so many nostalgic treats and drinks that spanned between Vietnam, China, Japan, and South Korea (at least that I noticed). Service - the guy who took our order was really helpful with giving recommendations. He was pretty honest with what he liked on the menu, versus what he felt like was popular amongst his customers. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, especially for a really busy Saturday early afternoon. Food - holy smokes, I'm craving the phodega fries just thinking and writing about it. A fusion twist on poutine, where instead of gravy and cheese curds, it's the broth used in their pho and pieces of thinly sliced beef, also used in their pho. Garnished with sliced jalapenos, cilantro, and white onions. The fries were made extra crispy, which were so good on their own, but soaked in the broth was exponentially better. For the main, I ordered the Viet Dip sandwich, the restaurant's take on a fusion of an Italian beef sandwich with a classic banh mi (genius!!). The baguette was perfect. The amount of thinly sliced beef was perfect. And the garnishes you'd have for your pho was already inside the sandwich (I had to pick out the jalapenos because I'm weak). The dip part of the sandwich? A small bowl of pho broth. In my book, that knocks an Italian dip out of the park. Needless to say, this was one of my favorite meals I've had this past summer and will be going back. Highly recommend!
