Croque Monsieur

10/10 This was the juiciest croissant I've ever come across. The sandwich I got was absolutely phenomenal. It was buttery and moist and melted in my mouth. I felt like remy in that one scene when he combined the berry and cheese. The flavors of this delicious sandwich were amazing. I've had a not so pawsome week and this surely made it 10x better. I also paired it with a coconut latte (real ones know what's up) delicious amazing. 100/10 would recommend. This shit willllll make you lick your paws!

Cute bakery/cafe in the neighborhood. Their pistachio croissant is definitely their specialty. The croissant itself was more bread-y and less of the tender flakes I've gotten used to in Europe, but tasty in its own way. The neon green pistachio filling is a bit too bright for my taste, but really enjoyed the pistachio crumb topping on top. Also one of the largest coffee syrup selections I have seen. Service was nice and quick, granted, I was here 830 on a Sunday morning lol. The weather was perfect for sitting on their rocking bench outside to enjoy the sunshine with breakfast!

Iced coffee

I love Le Caprice! Pastries are excellent and the iced coffee is so smooth. I live for the iced coffee. Croissants are so flaky and delicious. Breakfast sandwiches are fairly priced but would recommend getting a meat to make them a little more hardy. They always have a sample to try too. Parking can be tough on the side streets. Some outdoor seating.

Breakfast #1 Croissant Egg & Cheese; Iced Latte

Nice neighborhood spot if you're craving breakfast carbs! The egg and cheese croissant (add sausage) was large and tasty. They advertise that they use only cage-free eggs, but I can't say I noticed the difference. Croissant was flaky and held up well to the other sandwich elements. Iced latte was very good and generously sized. I noticed they used paper straws, and they asked us whether we wanted drinks in to-go cups or were okay with having them to stay, so it seems like they're putting efforts into sustainability, which I appreciate. Staff at the counter and delivering food to tables were very friendly. We appreciated being able to snag a table outside under an umbrella.

One slice of pastrami came on this $14 Reuben sandwich. One slice. I'll say it again. One slice.

Savory pastries
Susan Y.

The savory pastries are delicious here! I came here to grab a quick snack before friendsgiving and the staff was very friendly to converse with while I was waiting for my pastries to be warmed up. I purchased a mozzarella and tomato savory pastry as well as the ham and cheese pastry. There is an equal balance of both the contents and the pastry and the pastry portion was crisp like a soft toasty croissant! I would definitely come back here again and purchase their savory pastries.

good place for breakfast but wasn't totally impressed with the flavor palette of the food i got.

Iced coffee

Ordered an iced coffee. Apparently they come premade. Looked like mud water and didn't taste like coffee in the slightest; more like watered down half and half. Threw away after picture was taken.

Plain croissant

If you're looking for the worst croissant in DC, this is the bakery to visit. The croissants are hard, oily, and tasteless. Give it a try and don't forget to share your experience.

Come here for breakfast and coffee all the time, their plain croissants are the best I've had in DC! Baguettes are also excellent.

Good place to grab a cup of iced coffee. The pastries looked decent but are expensive. A piece of tiny ruggelach for $1 is outrageous.

Crisp edges and soft and fluffy everywhere else. I ate it in minutes. This would go amazing with a side of pasta. My goodness. 10 out of 10. We were lucky enough to snag some goodies and got a bit of everything, we just weren't patient enough to wait to photograph everything. We did the Za'atar Gruyère Croissant, chocolate croissant, the cheese biscuit item they had (don't remember exact name) and the sfogliatelle. I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. My friend got a coffee and also enjoyed that! This is the perfect place to stop by for a treat if you make it in time!

Recently started a new job and it's close by this bakery that I have bookmarked to visit for years!…read more I am glad to come for lunch (12:15pm) and it's busy but not a big line. Staffs are friendly and fast service. Consider they are mainly bread, pastries and coffee bar, it makes sense for the fast turnover. I'm actually surprised they have more than pastries and offer sandwiches too! Def coming back for it. I got a loaf of bread, some pastries and a flat white - Great! I only had their mushroom danish and plain croissant for now - it's definitely what I assumed it would be - Amazing in quality and taste! It reminds me of a bakery in Seattle, where it's all artisan breads and pastries w highest quality and visuals. (I mean, when it looks beautiful, it already add a point!) This is a rare find in DC! We have sooo many bakeries/ cafes but I'd say none really consider the real artisan style pastries and bread... You'll have to visit out of DC (VA or MD) to get similar.. so good to know there's Seylou here representing! Flat white with whole milk is decent, dialed and steamed well. No complaint! I will come back for their sweet syrup drinks and try for sure. Now that I can walk here from work... It will be hard not to come as a regular! If you like passionate baker's pastries, and willing to pay that price for the cause, this is definitely a must go!

It was also one of the only feasible options to order as the majority of the pastries were terribly burnt. I really wanted to try the monkey bread, but all of them looked completely burnt so I passed on ordering that. The lattes were just plain bad. My first order was not drinkable as the espresso was completely burnt. I switched it for another latte and that one was at tolerable at best but I found myself struggling to finish it (it was also still slightly burnt). My friend had the same experience with their latte, completely not drinkable. Theirs tasted absolutely horrid, I didn't realize drinks could taste that bad... they had to switch it out, again for another subpar but actually drinkable drink. Terrible experience, likely my first and last time coming here.

Atmosphere is homey and cafe like, walls are dotted with Azerbaijani crafts and geography. Glad to see a family run business (niece at the counter and aunt cooking inside) running things smoothly. Vegetarian Gutab 5/5-freshly made crepe like flatbread stuffed with greens and served with Labneh. Lightly dusted on the outside with a sumac like herb, the greens inside were fresh. Mushroom filled pastry 5/5-uses their signature flaky dough similar but lighter than a borek dough. Filled end to end, no empty pockets which is a good sign! Cheese Khachapuri-5/5-Not to be confused with the Georgian flatbread khachapuri, this uses the same borek like flaky dough, stuffed with cheese. Cheese is milder than feta, again a good thing! Mixed Greens filled pastry 5/5--same as above, greens and cheese instead of mushrooms. Shakarbura-5/5-delightful moon crescents like the north indian Gujiya, stuffed with nuts yet not overly sweet like baklava. Honey Cake--5/5-worth the hype, layers are gorgeously thin with tender honey and cream. Not too creamy or sweet. Apricot cake--4/5-could do with less preserves and cream, even then on the drier side. Unfortunately, the location in DC has permanently closed and we were still very much in the mood for some pastries... my cousin who is French has previously sang the praises of this Lil French pastry shop, so of course I had to give it a try. I am so happy that I did because I truly believe that I have stumbled upon my new favorite pastry shop in the area! Upon walking in the smell of croissants and almonds and sweet, sweet delicacies filled my nostrils. I basically became the human version of Remy from ratatouille inhaling a delicious bouillabaisse simmering on the stove top for hours....seeing colors and flavors so bright and intoxicating I simply had to have it I walked in and my eyes were instantly attracted to so many delicious options from classics like Palmiers and Napoleons to some unique flavor combos I've never tried before combined like raspberry and pistachio. Of course, I decided to grab a little bit of everything to make an accurate assessment as a YELP Elite should!! My favorite hands-down was the Berry Millefuille. The way the pastry crumbled in my mouth with every bite, combined with the tart, fresh raspberries, and thick flavorful custard.... Was worth every penny. Honorable mentions go to the peach rosemary tart, which was so unique with the added botanical of rosemary with some fresh sweet peach slices on top and a very crunchy tart base. We all enjoyed everything we purchased! I also ordered one of their seasonal specialties, the rosemary latte with skim milk and iced. The flavors were so uniquely crafted to where you could taste everything but everything combined together for the perfect sip. The ladies who greeted us at the cash register were so patient, so kind, and so understanding of my excitement and difficulty deciding and they even helped me add on a little chocolate happy birthday rectangle to the pastry I purchased for my husband! Without a doubt, this is only the first of the many times I will visit the establishment. It was so authentic, so delicious and passed all the vibe checks even from the French side of the family. I was told I have to return when they first open to have a fresh croissant and a fresh baguette that is on par with what you would have in Paris. Even the items in the fridge were made in France and were delicious fruit nectars that were very unique- we purchased a passionfruit nectar that didn't even make it past the doors before we had completely inhaled it and purchased a lychee nectar for later. I am so excited to have learned about this establishment and believe me when I say you must run, not walk, to experience it for yourself. Note- The dine in area inside the establishment is limited to a couple small tables. Definitely not equipped for large parties and a couple outdoor seatings right outside.

With the temperatures getting colder out, no better time to try to become a pie fan. Almost immediately, I dug into the pie with a fork because the ooegy gooey of the pecan (see photo for proof) was calling to me. Nope, did not bother to cut it like a normal human, not even an ounce. When the fork cut through the pie, I knew I was in for a treat: it broke through the soft brown sugar filling and picked up the right amount of crust. YUM! It was sweet, it was indulgent, and it was crunchy because of the generous pecans on top. I finished just two days later... I mean, the 6" size means it's a personal pie, right?
