I called Larry based on the yelp reviews a week ago. Wendy, who claims to be the receptionist answered my call, scheduled estimates for remodeling I plan to do for master and guest bathrooms for Tue 7/10 @ 6:30pm. I waited half an hour, called twice without any response or explanation from him for blowing me off!!! That's just rude. I don't know how he stays in business if this is how he conducts his business. Larry replaced an access door from my side alley into the garage. He picked up the door that I chose on-line from Home Depot and installed it in about two hours without damaging the stucco and trim. Nice people. However, got my appointment all mixed up, when the repairman didn't show up I had to call to find out that my appointment was rescheduled. Had to call three times and email once to get an invoice. Work was fine, but they sent out a subcontractor so the quality of the work is a comment on that subcontractor, not LC Handyman themselves. read more

We needed some fascia, architectural beams and some miscellaneous wood trim replaced due to termite damage. Larry provide a quick and reasonable quote for the repairs. During our walk through, he suggested potential solutions for a specific problem area. He also pointed out ways in which to get the work totally completed, while keeping the overall cost down. Once awarded, Larry came out, completed the work over a couple of days and had everything cleaned up, each day, before he left. We will have him back for other small jobs. Hi Yelpers! I hate to be the 2 star gal today, but this was my experience. I filled out a contact form on Larry's website (last Sunday), to be sure they received it I called the next day expecting to leave a message (Labor Day weekend). Larry answered the phone (nice surprise) and we chatted briefly about my needs. Side note: call because the contact form I filled out wasn't up and running yet I found out. I didn't have a big job, but a few things I needed help with. He provided his email and later Monday evening I emailed the details and photos. Wednesday I texted to see if he received the photos and he texted back 'yes'...that was it. Still no response about the job or an estimate provided so I emailed on Thursday to touch base about it as I wanted to get the job done soon. It's Sunday and no response. I'm a give the benefit of the doubt person, but I was disappointed because Larry has many positive reviews. I'm also an understanding gal - if my work can't be done, you don't want the job, you're too busy...I get it. Just let a customer know either way. A handyman who keeps his appointment and his word? Not typical for this industry but that was my experience with Larry. I had a wooden fence that fell over from the Santa Ana winds. I e-mailed Larry with a couple of pictures of the broken fence post and he gave me an estimate right there in a prompt e-mail response. I responded on a Friday letting him know I wanted to proceed with the repairs and he showed up on Monday (day after Christmas). He showed up on time and actually finished earlier than estimated.
