If I could give zero stars, I would. I booked a section at Lazy Point for my birthday, only to arrive and find out the manager had triple-booked the spot--and was nowhere to be found when my party of 30 showed up. Another group told me they also didn't have an allocated section, so it wasn't just me getting the runaround. The bar was completely packed, and we had nowhere to go. I had to seat my own party in the back just to make do, and only after a security team member stepped in did we finally get an assigned spot--something the manager should have handled from the start. Speaking of the manager, when I finally tracked him down at the end of the night, he was clearly inebriated and unprofessional. He joked about sticking his hand in my birthday cake (which my friends had thoughtfully brought for me) and even tried to blow out the candles himself--multiple times. Save yourself the stress and spend your money somewhere that values its guests and knows how to run an event properly. read more

Booked a birthday party 50 days in advance for 100 people, show up to a triple booked event and we get 40 square feet to stand in

I don't ever really write yelp reviews. I try to not let little things get to me. But this bar is pretty bad. My friend booked a private event for 70 people. Everyone showed up; they had forgotten and overbooked, which resulted in a very long line outside. They also keep cards if you open a tab (yes, they did lose mine btw). And there are 2 toilets to serve a bar with 200+ people. If you're booking a private event, you can probably find a better spot. read more

very fun venue. we made a reservation online and it was easy to communicate with staff. my friends were put in a nice area of the bar by the manager Sebastian. music was Great, Bar staff was accommodating. highly recommend for a Fun evening out . Good looking crowd- read more

Terrible - save your time and your money and do not go here. Do not honor reservations, management is horrible, will not respond to messages and is overpriced. Door guy is especially bad and will not help you. Especially do not host an event here. I was booked to have my birthday party here and to say went wrong would be the understatement of the century. I cannot emphasize enough, do not go here. Awful experience. read more

Lazy Point, with an emphasis on the word Lazy. Lighting - Can someone please turn on some lights? It was way too dark inside and I honestly don't think it works with the setting.Less lights do not equal hipper and cooler bar. I'm convinced that the employees just can't find the switch and maybe too lazy to look. Customer Service - Here's the big issue that dropped my review from a 3 star to 2 star. They failed to show that they respect theircustomers on at least 2 separate occasions. 1) We called before coming to the bar. We have some people who may need help getting into the bar via wheelchair ramps or what not. The guy that answered the phone was being a real jerk when we asked about handicap accessibility and really not helpful at all. Instead he asked how many handicap people we're looking to bring. I don't see why that matters. When we asked if there was a lip at the doorway, they said no but when we got there ... of course there was. 2) We actually had a huge party, because the girl that was leaving our company is extremely popular. So it was extremely stuffy inside and we all took frequent breaks outside just to catch some breeze. She kindly asked if they would turn on their AC units, and the guy working the floor had the audacity to tug on her jacket and say "No, you should take this off instead". Just terrible handling of the situation. You don't touch your customers! We only wanted to stay longer and not feel nasty doing so. I'm not sure if the ACs wereall broken, if the guy on the phone was the same guy that tugged on her jacket, if they're trying to save money on electricity, or if it's back to my first point the staff is just lazy and in most cases rude. Side note - There was one bartender that I kept ordering from that night which was extremely nice!   Drinks - Their drinks were good but happy hour prices aren't impressive. Can easily go elsewhere for better priced HH a few blocksaway. Food - Price and quality doesn't align. With their $15 (3) fish tacos and their weak $10 grilled cheese. Both lacked any taste, but I'll forgive the chef. It's hard to cook in the dark. They also labeled their French fries on the menu as "fingerling potato tempura". Stop trying to make things sound fancier than what they are, it's really false advertising. We also noticed that avocado toast is under "bar snacks". This may be getting petty, but in my honest opinion bar snacks should only be bowls of peanuts, chips or pretzels.   Interior - Ok, I actually really like the interior with the blue floors, and the layout of the benches and tables. Looking at Yelp's indoor pictures, this was the reason we picked this venue. Sadly once you get here, you'll notice how tacky the place really is with the "Live Laugh Love" Pillows, "endless summer" posters, and fake plants and palm trees scattered everywhere. Going back to my first bullet above which works in their favor actually - you can't really see anything once the sun goes down. But seriously - someone help these guys find the switch already. read more

I was not impress with this place. Looks shady and dank. Place is extremely dark- do they not know how to have some sort of light? I get it, dimmed lights set the mood but it's too dark. It just look like some random dive bar that is too far to get to. I went here on a rainy day for a company's holiday outing. It was nice but not what I expect. It was a private event yet they were also open to the public; we had open bar and if random strangers stumbled onto our event with the free drinks it could ruin next year's budget. Drinks- strong and yummy Nice seating (limited tables/booth) in the back of the bar. Small area, mostly just stand at the bar or sit at the bar stool. read more

This place is pretty unique because you can come by yourself and relax, come with coworkers for happy hour after work drinks, AND/or with your crew during the weekends to party it up. If you come around 4-7 during the weekdays it's pretty chill and relaxing in there. But I've also came to lazy point on a Thursday around 9 and the place was packed by 10,11 and I had a blast vibin' to the DJ and singing/dancing. They usually have parties there as well which can get super fun! People are always chatting, laughing, or dancing here. Always a good time. Bartenders and owner are super friendly and cater to your needs if you just ask :) Also, I may or may not have fallen in love with the bartender there ;) GO! read more

Celebrated my birthday at Lazy Point and everything, from the atmosphere to the service was incredible. My group was about 40 people and we took over the back area. I communicated and planed the night with the manager, Gunther, who was SO helpful (thank you Gunther!). The DJ was playing an awesome mix of genres, old and new. Definitely a place to come if you want to dance for the entire night! read more

We had booked and paid for the full bar for the night, and upon arrival we're told they had QUADRUPLE booked the space, so we were forced to shared the bar with three other groups. Not everyone that had paid to come from our group was able to come (they were rejected at the door), and it was incredibly crowded for the whole night, as they had to split the space between four groups who were all under the impression that they had the full space. They did not offer our group any sort of compensation, and we never received an explanation. 0/5 I would not recommend for a special event. read more

Beach-themed bar. Casual and relaxed. Ate at the bar and staff as very attentive but the service was slower than I would have liked. Food was tasty but portion size was not filling. Burger patty was small albeit delicious (kinda tasted like a Big Mac!) and needed the tempura potatoes to make it filling. The margarita on the rocks with salt was just right. The place seems to fill up arounf 5:20 with the after-work crowd on weekdays. Would definitely come back just because the bar staff was so nice and attentive. read more

This is my second time here and it's already become my favorite bar in NYC! It's the perfect combination of lowkey and chill place to hang, delicious and innovative cocktails, and yummy comfort foods that hit the spot! With COVID there are distanced tables inside as well as outside. Last time we were inside but this time the place was full so we found outdoor seating. I ordered the Mojito, which hands down is still my favorite drink here. It's perfectly flavored, absolutely gorgeous, and a great size! Plus, it's tribute to Cuba. Pricing is NYC cocktail pricing as expected. This time I got the Espresso Martini - It's not bad especially if you like strong drinks but it wasn't as complex to me as the Mojito - so get that for sure! My friend also tried the bees knees which I got a sip of -- really loved that one too, very refreshing and light. Would get that one next time. We got fries both times. So so yummy. We asked for both types of sauces -- pepper ketchup and garlic aioli. The garlic one was especially delicious to me :) Excited to haunt this place again next time! read more

Jasmine and Jeremy are amazing. They provided great service and made really good drinks with a smile. They even had great conversation with us and Jasmine kept a smile to customers while dealing with the owner berating them in a sloppy drunk rage. At one point, he even postured at Jeremy as if he wanted to fight, and Jeremy was able to walk away and remain professional while still serving customers. I had only been here once before this time where I had an amazing time at a work function to make me come back. It was disappointing to see that from what I presume to be the owner this time. This is a great place with great bartenders and food. Big up to the people who make it all happen despite terrible ownership. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My friends booked a party here and they literally were shuttered. While waiting outside wondering what the fuck was going on the bartender shows up wasted out of him mind also having no clue what was going on. Suddenly the "owner" showed up proceeded to blame us despite the fact that we had been communicating with them for a week. They don't deserve a penny of your business and should frankly close to save themselves more embarrassment. By far my worst experience in New York. read more

Not at all impressed. My experience at Lazy Point on a Saturday night a few weeks ago was, in short, all the stuff that I thought I'd left behind with college basement or frat parties. There were way, way too many people there for comfort. Most of the time, you were either shoving past people to get around, or anchoring your ground to keep passersby from spilling your drink. It was also super loud, and not at all conducive to having a conversation without screaming over roaring top-40 music. If you're not up for having a sore throat the next morning, avoid. The drinks, which were just *passable*, were the best part of the experience. Still not worth the price, though. Maybe I'm not seeing what all the other positive reviews are, or maybe I'm just a bitter old man in my 20s, but in any case it's a strong "nope" from me on Lazy Point. read more

I love lazy point! Lazy point is a bar close by to my office and I discovered this gem one day and decided to come here on Halloween! We were able to get a table and the bartender checked on us often! We got this awesome deal with a burger and a beer for $10! The burger was delicious and the drinks were decent price, especially considering the area that we were at! This would definitely become one of my go-tos after work! I was introduced to this place because of the phone app fever. I have to say this place is hidden and is a good spot. I recommend the avocado toast and the Montauk cheeseburger. The drinks I recommend is the margarita which is strong. The Pinot noir hit the spot as well while waiting for some grub. The soundtrack to the place is the highlight. They play a lot of oldies. It's a great place to be with employees for a night after work. It's not a great place for couples on a Friday afternoon. I also feel the lazy fish tacos should be included in the fever package or at least as an item I could buy if it's included in the menu. Beside that the place was not bad. The customer service was good, but it could improve by providing everything in the menu if the price is right. read more

this place is horrendous. we reserved the ENTIRE bar for a PRIVATE party months in advance. as we showed up to host said party which was at capacity for the whole space, we found out they had also rented the space to 3 other parties for the entire night. 4 private parties at capacity at the same bar on the same night?? how is this any way to run a business? do not go here and do not book any kind of reservation at this bar bc they simply will not honor it. it was a safety hazard for a lot of reasons and i'm disgusted. -1000000000/10 read more

The people who work here are the most entitled, rude people I have ever met. The bartender with brown hair who wears a hat screamed at my friend saying she sexually assaulted him when she asked him to make the drink correctly? I then left my debit card and returned the next day to get it and the woman bartender waved me off and told me to f* off and the same male bartender refused to help me and served other people in front of me. I just wanted my property back. Literally the rudest people ever. Don't ever go. It's also ugly interior and overpriced drinks. No AC. Ugly sauna. read more

I would give 0 ratings if I could. The bouncer here asked if my friend was pregnant (she is very much not, nor does she look it) and when we got upset he continued to ridicule her mercilessly. So I asked for the manager who I tried to tell him what happened - all of which calmly - and he told me he didn't care and to get out of line. I have never seen such behavior, and I have never wrote a Yelp review but please beware of this place! read more

I had been a big fan of Anchor Bar (previously in the same space) and enjoyed the great music and dancing many times. The new owner has done an excellent job redecorating: the dark, lodge, dive-y feel of Anchor Bar has been replaced with bright white walls, picnic tables and beach house feel. The music is also still great and on point. While this is all excellent, my 1 star rating is not unwarranted ... At a friend's birthday party last night, a girl and one of my friends started dancing on one of the banquets, the owner came over and pretty aggressively pulled them down. Fine, you have new furniture and you would like it to be maintained, reasonable enough. However, a few moments afterwards my friend and this same girl were dancing, just dancing!, but a small circle had surrounded them, at which point the owner came over, forcibly moved over the girl and preceded to smack my male friend, IN THE FACE, at least 4-5 times!!!! after which he grabbed his jaw and shook his face!!!!! It was literally the most innocent, benign fun and the owner did not take kindly to it. Completely out of proportion to the "offense"! In summary, the place is fine (as many other places in the city are), but if you are assaulting customers, I would confidently say I'm not going to be making a return visit. read more

Shout out to Yelp on this one. Lazy Point was truly a great find in a part of town where upbeat bars aren't always the norm. Located off the beaten path close to the west side highway, Lazy Point is a fun bar that resembles a beach club. From the decor to the music, you will have a hard time thinking you're not steps away from the ocean. Aside from the atmosphere, the drinks are also excellent. The list of drink specials are creative and the alcohol selection is great. Lots of variety and more than the just the basic version of each spirit (especially rum). They are also very accommodating and seem to be hell bent on doing anything to keep your spirit high. I asked if they made a certain cocktail, which they didn't. So I told the bartender what was in it, and he whipped up his own version on the spot. It turned out to be delicious. That did it for me with this place... This is definitely one of the better bars in the area and one that will undoubtedly do well. Great drinks, jovial atmosphere and awesome music. Perfect. read more

I've been to and have thrown many parties in NYC for birthdays and celebrations, but never have I personally experienced such service and quality that was provided at Lazy Point. It started before I even stepped into the bar itself or tried their drinks (which are delicious btw). I was planning a party for 2 friends' birthdays with a guest list of 100+. Believe me, for a guest list that big, it's impossible to find a place that's not over the top, trashy, overcrowded, or expensive. However when I dropped a message in Lazy Point's inquiry section, Jason (the owner) was not only quick to respond, but accommodating in every way. He doesn't believe in minimums or fees, only throwing a good party. I wish every other bar owner had the same values. He reserved the whole back space for our party (our group ended up taking most of the place). The vibe is super laid back and casual. Music, mixed with classic 90s and top 40s, and at a good volume (shoutout to Jeremy the DJ). The drinks were creative, affordable, and fun. Jason not only checked in from time to time, but threw in extra perks that blew us away.. It's rare and amazing that it feels like the bar owner is co-hosting a party with you. Thank you Jason for bringing hospitality back into NYC's bar scene. Lazy Point, welcome to the neighborhood. You got a whole party of people who will be spreading your name. read more

The beet cocktail may sound odd but it's delicious and so inventive. I also loved the rose bramble! Can't say enough great things about the former Anchor space. The same great vibe is in tact, but has also been improved. I feel like I stepped inside one of those lobster roll shacks in Montauk or am even at the less pretentious, indoor Surf Lodge. Really relaxed, really fun and love that it's located in such a historical nyc building (look it up--that building is actually pre civil war). Excited to see what the food menu will bring but either way, this is easily one of the best new nyc bars I've been to in a long time. read more

Amazing incredible cocktails are in this new bar which happened to be one of my old stomping grounds(Anchor) and stomp I did. had some of my best times at this spot in the past looks like whomever has taken over really has their act on point as you walk in, the cool, laid back vibe of the beach takes over your soul its open, light and filled with pretty colors(female owned) obviously the beets by Dre cocktail is frankly the most creative cocktail I have consumed thus far Lazy Point differs in one major way/ U can have FUN. A fun filled room with very good music and pretty people to boot the restrooms are spotless which is odd for a busy place and the owner, Jeremy went out of his way to take care of us and honored our reservation(easily made online) even with a filled room.(hard to find in NYC ) Hospitality, great drinks and a cool vibe topped with fun music will make this one of the finest new places in NYC a must visit read more

Was meeting up with a date after 9pm and pleasantly surprised by the venue after I got there. They have a great selection of drinks, food, & the crowd was pretty awesome. It was Thursday night and they played a excellent selection of 90's music that made many of us positively nostalgic. The 2 bartenders and barback working that night was very friendly, funny, & great company! I ordered about 2 Jack & gingers and they gave us a few drinks on the house (and even took a couple of shots with us & I ended up ordered a good set of rounds after).
