I read the reviews before coming here and they all said the service was horrible. However, that's not what I experienced. I had to wait for someone and I was standing and they offered me multiple times a seat while I waited. They were attentive once seated and weren't upset that we stayed a while but didn't order much.

Its a craft cocktail bar; thats it. Cool menu, nice decor and the mixologists are masters of their craft. We popped in before our dinner reservation. Everything we had was on point. The champagne old fashioned was fire. Endless refills of water and extroverted social bartenders. $19 each for all their craft cocktails; good price point for Manhattan. I am a fan.

I moved into Tribecca around a year ago and this was the first place I came. Good vibes/ambiance, strong espresso martinis (take note of this) and it was steps from my apartment so pretty much all you need in a bar. I've been back sporadically and never had an issue but I should've read the more recent reviews before coming back to this place. Absolutely 180 in terms of service and staff. Our server (Paris or Christina was her name, we actually got conflicting answers) made us feel unwelcome from the moment we walked in. I tried to order an espresso martini to which she replied they didn't have. After I expressed my shock, given I had been there before and received them, she coldly responded "I doubt it." That rude encounter aside (I quickly subbed out a different drink) the rest of the evening she did not check on us, was drinking with other patrons/bartenders behind the bar, and we had to physically wave down someone else just to get the check. Just absolutely uncomfortable through and through and genuinely ruined our night being treated so oddly without provocation. 1 star for service, 3 stars only because the drinks were decent. Also as a note to the business- they should probably update their google post (see pic). Understand menus change so you can work on updating that while giving your staff additional training.

Came here for happy hour after work with a friend. It wasn't too crowded: there was a decent smattering of people, especially congregated around the bar, though we were able to find a table easily. I sometimes have trouble asserting elbow and ordering space at bars, with the attention cycles of bartenders, but the bartender was super genial and noticed me straight away, and when I placed an order he said he'd actually come take our order at our table.  Weather Up had oysters for $1.50 each, which wasn't a bad deal, though a fifty percent increase from the price listed on their website menu. We ordered three each and also each had a drink, from the tap list. My friend had a lager and I had a peanut butter chocolate porter. It was definitely one of the more interesting porters I've had. It was dark, with no foam, and tasted bitter at first, but had the sweeter aftertaste of chocolate peanut butter. Sometimes, when a porter is chocolate-flavored you barely get a whiff of the scent, but this flavor was fairly bold. The lingering aftertaste was distinctly like a peanut butter M&M. The oysters were smaller than I would have liked, and were slurped up way too quickly. They came with the usually assortment of lemon, horseradish, and cocktail sauce. I enjoyed the cocktail sauce a lot; it was a nice complement to the oysters' salty taste of the sea. Overall a fun experience. Great ambiance for a chat and a catch up with a friend, without feeling like your space is crowded. Looks like the crowd is more tasteful, too, probably due to the expensiveness of their cocktails. Their happy hour, which ends at 7pm on a weekday, only has deals for the oysters; there is unfortunately no drink deal. However, we did spot a fairly good deal for cocktails and oysters Saturdays, so we will be back to take advantage of that.

Bottoms Up at the Weather Up! I came Tuesday night to Tyler Kord's "A Super Upsetting Cookbook About Sandwiches" book launch party. The book is officially available for purchase June 14th!! I'm rarely in TriBeCa. I love fancy, hoity toity places but most of the time I just stick to Brooklyn, East Village and LES. Hmmm... I spend a lot of my time with the riff raff. I bought a ticket for the event off eventbrite and it was a steal. I got way more than my money's worth!! Commute is tough. Subways are not easy to come to this area. Only the 1 drops you off remotely close. I took the R and walked down. When I made the turn it was the "private party" sign that helped me find the spot. I was greeted with a copy of the cookbook, a magnet and postcards! When I got to the beautiful bar the menu had 3 cocktails, 3 wines and 2 beers. I worked my way up the cocktail menu, starting with the Santa Rosa. I'm a tequila fan, also Campari and who can go wrong with St. Germain. Each cocktail was perfectly crafted per customer. This one was served in a gorgeous detailed glass and a served with a metal straw. Normally I'm not a fan of the metal straws but in this case it didn't bother me. I'm pescatarian so some of the sandwiches I wasn't able to try. I did try the "Gentle Thoughts" sandwich. The asparagus was perfectly cooked. I liked how the books were opened to the recipe in the book for the highlighted sandwiches. There was also guest chefs! I was a huge fan of Speedy Romeo's spin on a sandwich. It was like watching a Top Chef challenge. The sandwich was thin slices mozzarella with a bread crumb sprinkled on top and a pea purée filler. The chef, Justin Bazdarich had his bowls all lined up and he prepared each one with such precision. He was also super nice and made me a couple veggie versions without the pancetta for little ol' me. After some libations, people were in the mood to socialize! I got the inside scoop of the zombie looking arm holding a sandwich enamel lapel pins hidden in the back room on some tables! (Designed by Love and Victory). So happy I scored one. I even met the chef, Tyler Kord! It was a night to remember! Thanks for the magical evening, Weather Up, No. 7 North and Tyler Kord! I woke up in need of coffee, sporting a new sandwich temporary tattoo, owning a new inspiring cookbook, adoring my rad new enamel pin and wit wonderful memories!

Weather Up was the perfect place to meet up with my uomo* friend for a highly needed pre-dinner drink last night. Oh wait, I actually ended up having dinner there. Whoops. So much for just pre-dinner! For drinks, I had the Satan Cocktail (bourbon based) and he had The Astoria (gin based). Satan certainly packs a wallop in his beverages. I had a sip of his Astoria and found it to be a much kinder respite than the one Satan was providing. Still, mine was certainly enjoyable; I just wouldn't recommend it on an empty stomach. ... which is where the food comes in. After asking for my cocktail I placed an order for the steak tartare. I'm a big fan of raw meat and I always feel compelled to try tartare whenever it is offered (on a menu). About halfway through Satan's alley I received my meal. I immediately popped the egg yolk to let its delicious fluid seep into the cow canvas beneath. The meat was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The points were lightly toasted with just a trace of butter that was noticeable with every nibble. So delectable. The atmosphere of Weather Up is very laid back and casual which is why it was chosen in the first place. It's a great place to meet up with friends and have a conversation without worrying if you're talking too loud in an underground speakeasy. I really liked that. I also really liked the bartender who reminded me of a mix between Henry Cavill (the next Superman) and Richard Madden (Robb Stark from GOT). What's a good drink without some good eye candy? *Google it

Ladies wear flats! This is home to the lollipop heeled. Cocktails are delicious. We didn't try the food only the cocktails. I had The High Horse and Diablo. This is a cocktail bar where the drinks are tasty but they sneak up on you. There really is a stuffed peacock at the bar. The music is chill. The only drawback is the acoustics. You can barely have a conversation. You truly have to yell.

Espresso martini and a rum based coffee drink.

A cool and trendy bar in Tribeca which is a great spot for a date or just to grab some drinks with friends. Despite what some other recent reviews claim, I've never had an issue getting service here or with my bill. What people have to understand is that this is a cocktail bar with sophisticated hard to make cocktails. These take time to make properly and won't be slung out with the ease of a vodka soda you might get at another bar. The mixologists here take their craft seriously and it shows in the quality of the drinks. The one downside is it is expensive with cocktails costing $19. That being said, I would recommend this as a place to grab a few drinks.

Ambiance: This place has a nice ambiance, definitely very "New York" -- dark (you can't see how dirty the floor is) and loud music (maybe too loud). We sat upstairs (we had a reservation) and of all the people on the top there was a party of 4 (us), a party of 8 (all dudes celebrating something) and the rest of the tables were on a DATE - which I thought was funny. Service: We were served by Ann-Marie who was so delightful. She was kind, super nice, and took the time to speak to us (which is basically how we figured out she wasn't a native New York City person). She gave us good food suggestions and we were very happy with our selection. Food: Here is what we ordered * Steak Frites: My two boys got the steak frites and I have to say the steak was awesome! I had a bite of each of theirs and they each ordered it differently (one Medium Rare/Medium and one Medium) and they both were prepared PERFECTLY. The fries were overflowing. * Caeser Salad with Salmon: My wife got the salad with Salmon (they only have a few salad options) and she enjoyed it. * Prawn and Crab Risotto: I got this and I have to say it was VERY bland. I wouldn't get this if you are looking for taste. I had to put salt and pepper on it to make it have any semblance of taste. Value/Price: I would say this is not over priced but it is not cheap either...bill is attached. I would recommend it to folks who are looking for a good place to either go out on a date or a family type meal.

I've visited the Parlor twice, and I strongly suggest booking a reservation weeks in advance--especially on weekdays--as walk-ins can be tough to secure. On my latest visit to celebrate a friend's birthday, we kicked things off with the Amazake Kick and Button Down cocktails. The Amazake Kick was balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, making it a fantastic starter. For food, we ordered the scotch egg, sliders, and fish and chips. The scotch egg was solid, though the sausage layer felt slightly dry this time around. The sliders were great, while the fish and chips were decent--nicely crispy, but the fish needed a bit more flavor seasoning. We tried several other drinks throughout the night, and my top three recommendations would be the Amazake Kick, Hotmail, and Lock & Key. If you're searching for a cozy spot with great drinks and light bites, this place is definitely worth adding to your list!

The bread was fluffy and not dry, which I had seen previous reviews say before. Paired with the creamy truffle butter, it had a luxurious mouthfeel. My favorite was the pork chop (cognac, sweet prunes, bacon, rosemary) -- the sweet and soft texture of the prune was melted in my mouth like fat, and the pork was tender, with the rosemary also coming through. The vodka rigatoni was a skip, somewhat bland and one-note, we ended up putting some of the truffle butter and garlic aioli from the fries to make it more flavorful. This was especially in contrast with the spicy shrimp pasta which was much tastier. Also got the strawberry vacherin (strawberry ice cream, meringue, vanilla whipped cream), it was my first time having this dessert. The tartness of the strawberry was great with the fluffy meringue and the sweet ice cream. Service was extremely attentive, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated with moody lighting. I got: - Truffle Monkey Bread ($34.99) - Prime Rib French Dip ($39.99) - Pommes Frites ($13.99) - Banana Split Sundae ($24.99) I thought the prices were definitely on the higher end when I first sat down, but the Truffle Monkey Bread is divine! Honestly, it's probably in my top 3 bread experiences of my life. If you love truffle, butter, cheese, and basically everything good in life, please get this. It comes out slightly warm and is just incredible. I will probably dream about this bread. The French Dip was good, although it was a little too salty for me. If I get the chance to come back, I'd probably try one of their actual steaks instead. The pommes frites were super crispy, basically McDonald's fries but elevated. The Banana Split Sundae was so pretty. I loved how they placed all the little treats around the crevices/imprints of the dish (not sure how else to describe it ). It's huge, though, so definitely don't expect to finish it yourself. I'd recommend sharing it with 3+ people. I was also celebrating an anniversary, and they brought out a strawberry scoop for us. It tasted homemade and really fresh. I could actually see pieces of strawberry in it, which I loved. The restaurant is definitely on the pricier side, and getting a dinner reservation can be a struggle, but I'd absolutely go again if I got the chance. The decor is cozy and upscale, the food was excellent, and the whole place has a really nice atmosphere. My only real complaint was that our waitress kept pushing us to order more, which got a little annoying, especially since we had already ordered quite a bit. Overall: expensive + difficult reservation, but absolutely worth trying. And please get the truffle monkey bread.

As I tugged myself behind the curtain, I walked into a decent-sized room and with balloons and the words, "Welcome to Emerald City" in the front of the room with a DJ playing today's hits and of course, songs from the Wizard Broadway show. At first, I thought this was going to be a dance party but soon realized that it was going to be a craft party instead. There was a station for making your own broom, one to make a friendship bracelet, and another one for letter writing along with sealed wax to use on the envelope with different stamps. I sipped away an Old-Fashioned in my souvenir Wicked cup while singing along to the Wicked soundtrack and making a friendship bracelet for my daughter. This experience was relaxing and joyful so now I know my type of party consists of a craft night. Close to the end of the night, I participated in a Wicked costume contest. I lost but nevertheless, I had a good time. Ended the night with an order of burger before heading home to show off my creations. I can't wait to check out their other events and come here again!

It's an enjoyable bar. It's slightly hidden away inside of an office building two flights down via…read morethe escalator next to the Alamo Drafthouse. Nice selection of alcohol, friendly bartenders and attentive service. Since it was tucked away it wasn't as crowded and I was able to spend an hour catching up with my friend and it wasn't overly crowded or loud.
