The inside is so cute and I love that there's 2 floors so even if they are super busy it never feels crowded. We sat at the bar and ordered sushi and dumplings from Kazoku. We also ordered some fries from Loaded. Everything was amazing. I really loved the shrimp dumplings the shrimp wasn't over cooked and just tasted fresh and delicious!! I am obsessed with loaded fries so no shocker that these were AMAZING! Normally when I see taki dust on something it just doesn't do much for me but this really added the perfect flavor and crunch to the fries!! So so good we will for sure be back!! read more

This is a neat place and a nice concept - a food hall with several varied dining options. Burgers/chicken, Southern-style (pulled pork & such), and Asian (sushi & such). There's also a decent-size bar, with seating, that serves soda and alcohol. There is supposed to be a parking lot for this place nearby but I didn't see it, so you'll have to parallel park on the street. Upon entry, it's a wide-open space with two floors and very tall ceilings (which makes for a unique ambiance), but I wonder if it gets very loud in there. Admittedly, I don't know if it's noisy because we visited on a Friday at lunchtime (around 12:30-1), and there were only 2 other tables eating there (which we were surprised to see). You order via touchscreen at the counter or via QR code at a table. We ordered at the counter via touchscreen, which requires you to come get your order when it's done (they text you). But, supposedly, if you order via QR code, someone will bring your food to your table. However, my wife ordered us drinks (a Diet Coke and a short margarita) via QR code, and we both got our food (from two different vendors, and I was half done with my burger & fries, before the bartender even started our drink order. So, my wife went up to the bar and asked for our drinks and brought them to our table. So, I'm not sure the QR code method is the most expedient approach. Onto the food... my wife really enjoyed her corn dog from Loaded (pictured) and her sushi (crunchy California, not pictured). I enjoyed my burger from Loaded (pictured), but I wouldn't say it was particularly noteworthy as far as burgers go. One thing I enjoyed was the use of bacon pieces instead of strips (if that was a happy accident or intentional, I don't know). The cheese was a bit non-existent but other than that, it was a decent burger. I got a double patty because I prefer my burgers to be 6-8 oz. The double patty had a perfect bun-to-meat ratio. Definitely one of my favorite food halls around the city. Tons of seating upstairs and down with more food options and a bar; options included southern soul food, a smash burger stand with Korean corn dogs, Mexican food, sushi and an ice cream stand. Loaded (burgers & Korean corn dogs) seemed to be serving up food the fastest. Cuddy's was pretty slow getting food out. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon during OpenStreets and surprisingly it wasn't very busy. The catfish sandwich from Cuddy's was okay. It wasn't overall heavy. The piece of fish was smaller than I was expecting and I think I would have liked a house made tartar sauce more. The fries were good dusted with seasoning that I I am assuming was ol bay. I really wanted to try a different side but didn't see an option to sub the fries and didn't want to pay $6 for a 2nd side I didn't necessarily need. Loaded served their own ketchup with their fries instead of sending the customer to get Heinz from the communal cart by the water station. Their fries were also the best of the two places that served fries. I really wanted a brownie sundae but unfortunately there was no one at the ice cream counter. Such a cool concept. I went after work around 4:30pm, it was a perfect time to go. I had plenty of choices where I wanted to sit. I chose the bar. I was able to order my drink with the bar tender who was lovely. I sampled dishes from 3/4 of the restaurants located inside. I ordered a half meat and half cheese bang bang dog, @kazokusushi_lh I ordered shrimp dumplings with bang bang sauce and @lapalapapgh I ordered the queso. I loooved the korean corn dog that I got, it was easily my favorite thing. Once ordered the food came shortly after. I got to check out Lawrence Hall the last time I was home for a visit. One of my favorite things about my city is when old buildings like this former warehouse are brought back to life. A stunning job was done on the rehab of this warehouse from the late 1800s. The vibe feels like so much more than Pittsburgh and yet so very Pittsburgh. Super spacious with a funky & modern decor. Lawrence Hall is a food hall that contains the restaurants Kazoku Sushi, La Palapa, Loaded, Cuddy's Soul Food, and Scoops & Cones and the bar Dear James. The food hall is uniquely inside a repurposed warehouse from the 1890s. My husband and I were customers here one time. We could order either from a QR code on our table or from the individual restaurants' counters. We ate vegetable spring rolls (4 stars) from Kazoku Sushi; a smashburger and fries (4 stars) and a bacon-ranch corn dog (3.5 stars) from Loaded; and a sweet-potato pie (3 stars) from Cuddy's. All of the employees spoke very nicely with us, and we did not have long waits for our foods. A free water station was available to use. Plenty of self-serve seating was available in the two-story building. I recommend Lawrence Hall to people who want to support local businesses and try a variety of foods. read more

Great experience at Lawrence Hall! We went on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. I started with a mimosa and my husband tried a Bloody Mary. My only disappointment was that only one kitchen offered brunch, so I ended up getting lunch instead. I enjoyed 2 tacos from La Palapa & my husband and I split a Korean corn dog from Loaded, and my husband had a burger from Loaded. All of the food was incredible! The server that was working the floor was incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. All of the food came out pretty fast. It's a family friendly spot with high chairs and stroller "parking." We came through on a Monday evening to grab $.75 wings at Cuddy's. Come to it there was trivial night at the Lawrence Hall. When I said packed, it was packed. Apparently trivia night is every first and third Monday every month. It really look like they was having a good time. They downstairs and upstairs were packed with people, however onto the food. We went and got the $.75 whole wings from Cuddy's. Ended up taking them to go due to how crowded it was inside when. Wings at Cuddy's were delicious, so crispy and so flavorful, cooked to perfection. We got the Cajun seasoning, which was very good. There were multiple options to choose from when it came to sauces and dry seasonings for the wings. Overall, the Lawrence Hall was beautiful beautifully put together. I love how opened it is, the multiple restaurants there's ice cream, a Sushi Spot, Tacos for taco Tuesday and also there's Cuddy's soul food. Also have a bar pretty nice size bar. I love this place!!! I can't believe it has taken me so long to try it. I actually saw an advertisement on a billboard on 28 and that is what prompted me to check it out, we've been here multiple times since! I love the ambiance in here. Lawrence Hall is a classic food hall housing multiple restaurants that you can order from. There is also a decent bar too. You go in and find a table (first come first served) and then use your phones and QR codes to order. I love that you can get various things from different restaurants. This is great for a group where everyone can find what they want or for anyone (like me) who has a hard time making decisions and wants to try it all. Once you order the food is brought out to you which is great. They also have a self serve water station, but the servers are kind and often bring you some as well. *edited to add - Since la palapa does not have its own page, I have to take the time to comment on their food. We ate at Toma and I got a chicken parm hero which was delicious also went for ice cream at Leona's afterwards. I find this place great and is a definite must goto. You choose your own seat then choose from the 4 restaurants you want to go to and then order and sit they test you when your food is ready. You can also click on the scan code at the table and order online and then they bring the food directly to your table. It was a great experience and the food was great. read more

So we've been here about 10 or so times since it's opening and I think we have a good handle on how things work. Sitting at the bar for drinks is great. You don't have to use the QR and can order like a normal bar. Drinks are always great. No complaints. Food... not so much. The ordering is a pain and nothing is timed well. Most of them are slow, others are slower. I feel like the food hall hype died about 8 years ago so this place feels out of touch. There isn't any restaurant that stands out as a must have like Iron Born pizza use to. Instead it's more food court quality. It's also frustrating when one person's meal arrives while others have to wait another 15-20 minutes. Every time we order food, we always ask ourselves "why did we eat here?" So go for drinks at the bar, but plan dinner somewhere else. read more

There's an Italian spot, ice cream, Korean corn dogs, chicken sandos, smashburgers, Mexican spot, and a barbecue spot. I love that they are like Federal Galley and everyone can order by scanning a QR code. I went the second day they were open and I was kinda confused when I came in and ordered at the counter. It took us a little bit to get our food but they were really busy on a Saturday in the afternoon. I loved the ice cream from Leona's. Lawrence Hall is a great place to go with a big group because there is a ton of space. I went on a Saturday night and it was not very crowded which was nice. Really my only complaint was that it's a tad on the expensive side. Just a soda was $4 which was a little annoying. I also got some fries from Loaded and they were really tasty. While on a biz trip to Pittsburgh I had a chance to visit Lawrence hall. This unique eatery offers several counter style restaurants, a bar and plenty of indoor seating.
