I mean...it's the Laurel lol. You know it's the best diner in town. Great for ordering the same thing time and time again but also great if you want to try something new. The nicest wait staff. A staple for sure. read more

Had the turkey sandwich with cranberry mayo. Yum yum yum! Go hungry cause the portions are HUGE! The inside is nice and seems to be recently updated. My uncle is a LB native and comes here all the time. read more

I've been coming to the Laurel for over 15 years. As a matter of fact, there were different owners the first few years i started coming here, and it was with great trepidation we all viewed the change. But the Loucas family took a great place and made it even better. Food is always fresh and delicious, staff is friendly and helpful, and the owners make you feel like family. I've brought my own family to the Laurel because i know they'll enjoy it and be treated well. My friends and i even have our birthday meals here because it's got the right vibe for a warm celebration! Menu gets updated every so often with new items, but the standards are flawless. There's often a wait to get a table, but well worth it. Get to know the place! read more

Never disappointed. Every aspect of a meal at the Laurel is positive. From the lovely hosts to the wonderful wait staff to the food! Everyone graciously makes you feel welcome . read more

Great service, great and fresh tasting food. There used to be another dinner right across the street that we went to whenever we were in the area that was closed. This was better than that diner. I ordered a garden omelette that came with toast and home fries with a vanilla milkshake. My parents got turkey clubs. We all drank milkshakes. Everything was great here. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast places in the area. You have to get in early on the weekends or else it's a mad house so make sure you get there early to beat the rush. Try the Elvis pancakes. If you love peanut butter and bananas you'll love them! Real nice ambiance also. Love the old charm they've retained. read more

Wasn't impressed. Didn't feel like a patron. Wait staff needs an attitude adjustment !

The best diner on Long Beach. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. Melanie, Monica, Jose, Leo, Rena, Stavros are the best. They really take care of you. read more

This is basically the only diner in town. I go there often but yesterday I had lunch. I ordered pastrami on rye which I have had many times and was quite good. But yesterday the pastrami was like cardboard. It tastes Like it was already cooked and they heated it in the microwave. It was dry and chewy. It had no taste at all. And to top it off the bread was stale. After a few bites the bread fell apart and it was so dry I was unable to eat the rest. I told the waitress and her response was " I'll let the kitchen know. Not an offer of something else or to take it off my bill. I was very disappointed and may have to start leaving Long Beach go find a new diner. So I went back to the laurel diner today and had breakfast. Eggs were great and bacon cooked perfect. Bread was buttered and good came quickly. My last review was not too good based on some issues I had. The manger suggested coming back and give them another try. I did and it was worth it. My friend has a steak quesadilla and it also was delicious. Happy I went back. read more

Cute and cozy diner with great food. Had the shrimp salad sandwich with a cherry lemon Rikki soda. For desert, a slice of homemade blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Very friendly staff and plenty of parking nearby. read more

Good breakfast & a whole lot of food. It's great for sharing. Pancakes & Turkey bacon

Great diner in long beach. It gets crowded quickly on weekends, so get there early. The pancakes were great and there were a bunch of different flavors... chocolate chip, cinnabon, oreo. The florentine omelette was delicious. There wasn't too much of either the spinach or feta cheese. The service was very attentive and made sure that coffee levels never went low. read more

Their food and service are the best I love to go with family, and at the end eat their delicious deserts that are unique.

An interesting place and an eighty-year staple of Long Beach. Remodeled a couple of years ago, the Laurel Luncheonette became the Laurel Diner and the neighborhood lunch spot has joined the Long Island Diner ranks. Six buck burgers are now $14 burgers, four times the size and smothered in extras. The neighborly feel has been replaced with a noisy Horn and Hardart ambiance that's vibrant, if you want to be nice, and fun if you don't already have a headache. But people visit diners for the food, and here's what keeps the locals lining up at the Laurel's doorstep. The brothers who run this place really love their craft and it shows. They don't cut a corner with anything. If you want good food and lots of it, you'll find it here. You truly can't say that about many places on Long Island and certainly no others in Long Beach. The help is top notch, from a legion of experienced waiters and waitresses to the kitchen help to the busboys; many of them have been here for decades. The Laurel has been their life as it has been for their customers. Personally, I miss the old Laurels. Dropping $48 for lunch for two while eating elbow to elbow with a guy who feeds like a prisoner isn't my style, but it is what it is and it doesn't try to be what it's not. You certainly won't be disappointed by the food or the the service. Isn't that what it's all about? read more

This has long been a staple for our Long Beach visits. The breakfasts are hearty and wholesome. The lunches affordable and tasty. The 'blue plate special" dinners live up to their reputation. Been there so many times we've lost count. Unfortunately, at our most recent visit, we got an omelet and potatoes plate that was so salty it was inedible. Others in our group said theirs was okay and finished, but complained quietly about the salt later. I had banana pancakes, which were terrific. We will absolutely return, but the next time, we will order items that simply cannot contain too much salt. read more

Food is absolutely amazing, my favorites are bone rib eye, chicken francaise, great selection of burgers, and so many more. The servirse is extremely friendly and professional. If you're looking for old fashioned, charming, cozy and regular dishes along with some creative ones, this is the place to go! I went during the week for lunch. Decided to get eggs benedict. Eggs were real runny so be ready! Taste was very good, only thing was it was a lot of bacon, but that's not necessarily a bad thing :-) The service was fine, no problems. Everyone hospitable. Coffee good, prices very normal. Overall I give an 8 out of 10. They are undergoing renovations from Christmas thru January, so come by in February if you're interested. read more

Enjoyed this family run diner for a traditional breakfast. Filled with a local crowd of regulars, our waitress told us she had been passing through and has worked there for 35 years. The diner is well-lit, decorated in a fifties style and very clean, with efficient service. My husband tried the grits and a Denver omelette while I had Eggs Benedict with spinach. All our food was good. The staff were accommodating, honoring small requests such as serving the Benedict sauce on the side. We'd definitely return. read more

The Laurel Diner is tops in quality food and service. Their breakfast special of sausages, eggs and home fries is my favorite. My top choices for dinner include their Souvlaki platter, which includes a delicious Greek salad. I also love their grilled pork chops. Their wide choice of special burger meals are also great. Free refills on sodas. The owners, Andrew and Peter are both excellent people and they run a first class operation as well as being very compliant with Covid 19 rules. They also have a nice outdoor setup for dining. Their waiters, Athos, Bill and Teddy are all courteous and very attentive. Overall, the Laurel Diner is a 5 star experience! read more

I was going to make this place my regular as I'm spending more time in Long Beach.... average diner food but great selection of newspapers and good streams of fox and CNBC. PITY about the unfriendly waitress, unsmiling and giving me "attitude". Then when I left a 15% tip she came out to harass me about it. Went to talk to the manager. No, they're not there. I was pleasant and quiet and the diner wasn't full. Sorry I only had the omelette and coffee instead of the Duck and Champagne for a table of four. Well it worked; I went back and left a 26% tip and she still wouldn't make peace. What's with the sullen attitude??? Don't worry, I won't come back ever again! And I'll tell my Long Beach people. Go to the Starbucks down the road for better coffee, cafe food and quieter, more comfortable digs. ***Regarding the feedback to my review, the diner was not packed with people, nor was there a line, and around about the time when it was getting busy for lunch, I made a constructive attempt to remove myself because I AM conscientious of a business and not wanting to deny another customer space or a business' profits. This was however only my second time at this place and was deeply insulted: I have spent daily breakfasts and brunches around New York and indeed the world, and despite the quirky skewed idea of tipping in the USA, (best described by Adam Ruins Everything) https://youtu.be/q_vivC7c_1k I could neither support a 20% tip, and the business has lost a yuppie customer who (a) could have been moved to the counter if it was a problem (b) given a once off goodwill the first time this happened because I would bring back my friends and family or (c) explained it in a NICE and PLEASANT way instead of the gruff, dour manner afterwards. Or indeed (d) tacitly paid the difference to your run down ground staff to alleviate any unpleasantness with your customers. There is always (e) automation. Which one of these 5 options do you think is going to be the reality in 10 years? I am however able to linger and spend my disposable yuppie money in other restaurants, diners, cafe's and businesses in a "reasonable man test" and if my time taken was such a problem, and again, I rail against the idea it was (your diner was NOT full, with lines) then perhaps you should take the cue from a few avant garde places in manhattan and indeed the world, and pay your servants, I mean employees, a basic proper wage. The customer is always right? Well, not here, and as such you shall never see me or my disposable income tribe again. Not that it will matter, I understand, but nevertheless make it a warning for anyone else in my position. read more

Whatta place to go! The Laurel Diner has been a staple in Long Beach for years now. They have such an amazing reputation for providing quality food in a fine establishment. They have such a variety of options there, and truly have an amazing staff. They treat you like family when you're there. If you live in town, they know you and they always make it a point to make you feel welcomed. read more

Old school looking cool diner. 5/10 overall but 3/10 for their Very disappointing mozzarella sticks. Non seasoned standard frozen mozzarella sticks. They were overly bready and even though hot the mozzarella wasn't melted..The sauce tasted like it was from a jar. Somehow worse than lunchables pizza sauce. For $11 not worth it for 7 fried polly-o string cheeses. Womp womp read more

The new and improved Laurel Diner knocked me out in the first round with its excellent crab cake platter. Never before have I had crab cakes this large and delicious outside of Maryland and they were excellent too! Did I mention that this was a diner? The service was a bit slow and disjointed and if not for the meal, would've gotten a review of 3.5 stars. Well done! read more

Been here a few times, food is good, and place is always busy. My son got the special Cinnabon pancakes, seriously I thought he would get diabetes after eating them, but he loved them! I got a soulvaki pita, it didn't have any feta and was charged $3 for a side, that's a little steep. Even though the food is on the expensive side the service and atmosphere is great, I'll be back read more

Laurel Diner is delish! when it gets busy we usually sit at the counter. We ate out a lot, this is one of our favorite places. The food is great and priced very reasonable. I usually get the chicken soup and the prasini salad with grilled salmon and my husband gets the godfather hero. When we get breakfast I get the peanut butter french toast and my husband gets pancakes with 2 over-easy eggs. Free soda and coffee refills. Plus the staff is super friendly and they have a membership card that gives you rewards towards your next check..can beat it! read more

The food was very good. Service was good. The place is really cool. Portions are large. Ice tea was delicious. If I lived in the area I would definitely frequent with this place. read more

What a great find! Ahi tuna sandwich was well cooked, balanced flavors w blt avocado- very filling, cowboy burger was well seasoned, waffles fries were crispy and plentiful. The stuffed french toast was amazing and hit the spot and will surely provide a good breakfast for tomorrow as well. The mud pie was choc choc fudgey , expect it to be as rich as expected. Good tasting coffee medium blend. Only complaint is that the onion rings were more like crispy flakes. Space can also feel a bit tight or cramped in some spots.Would def head this way if I am in this area again. read more

My Delivery order is wrong almost every time I order from them. Prices are ridiculously high on some items, example ice tea $3.55 for 20 oz cup, $5.40 for French onion soup$4.35 for all other soups. $13 for a burger, bagel with cream cheese $3.50 and a little extra cream cheese they want to charge you $5.50, totally crazy!!! Food portions are big and food is good,if cooked correctly! read more

The food was fine, but not at all worth the terrible service and surly attitude of our waitress. Compare that with the good food and excellent friendly service at Bungalow West. No need to return to Laurel Diner. read more

I order for pick up often. The food is consistent, the service is suspect. The person taking the order and the person packing the order make mistakes every time. These things happen but the way they handle their mistakes is poor. I was overcharged for my burger and my soup was missing from my bag. The manager or whoever works the register did a poor job handling my issues and didn't give me a refund or properly compensate me. Very disappointed! read more

I just discovered this place a little over 2 weeks ago and I've been back 3 times ever since. the staff is so helpful and the feeling is so intimate it's a perfect little diner that you would go to to have a quick little late night snack or a full on meal. So charming and quaint can't wait to be back! read more

I haven't been here in years. My last visit recalls a very old style greasy spoon run by a guy right out of Oscar Madison from the odd couple. The food was traditional greasy spoon diner. fast-forward to 2013 and a pleasant surprise awaits. Yes I still got my eggs but the place has been cleaned up and the specials board had gourmet fare on it like Chilean seabass and a lump crab cake sandwich. My eggs were perfect but more perfect was the lump crab cake sandwich my daughter got. wow when I took a bite I couldn't believe it, and it was a generous size also. My other daughter ordered a chicken sandwich that was basically a grilled chicken version of chicken pram without the fried. It was also amazing. The place is still a cramped diner with diner style service but hey that's part of the diner experience. The food was a excellent and an enjoyable surprise. read more

Disappointing. Ordered a Greek salad & jalepeno poppers for delivery. Greek salad came with honey mustard dressing. Gross. And those jalepeno poppers came as a side of jalepeno PEPPERS (ripped off for $2.55). Hi Andrew- thanks for responding, it was definitely the laurel diner I placed an order with, sorry. I was ordering without a menu & asked if you had jalepeno poppers & was told yes. Maybe they thought I said peppers. read more
