Food was delicious. The restaurant itself is "hip". Our server was very efficient and pleasant. The pho soup was flavorful and there's a choice of thicker noodle which I prefer. We ordered a couple of pre fix meals and it was plenty of food for a large appetite. The meat eaters loved the pork rib appetizer. Fall off the bone goodness with South Asian sauce. The summer rolls were not shy of basil and were crispy chilled. We would definitely go back when the dmv isn't open. This would be our new go to Vietnamese restaurant. read more

It's really unfortunate the food is so good cause the service is so awful that I will not come back. In just 9 months the service has gone downhill so fast that it really does ruin the meal. I've been here 3 times since my 2025 review and each time things just got worse. Came for lunch once and dinner twice. Each time, minimal attention was given was the food was ordered. Our lunch meal showed up correctly but the two dinner meals were wrong both times. I specifically asked for no cilantro and no scallion, and both times (months apart), the bowls came wrong. On top of it, they knew it came wrong but figured ignoring would be the best solution. Not that I would have sent my food back but just some accountability would have been nice. My latest dinner was the end. The food took forever to come out and the restaurant was not busy and minimal take out orders were being brought out. Our food once again arrived incorrectly and I could tell by the servers face that she realized but again, nothing was done. The fire alarm went off in the middle which out of their control, but no acknowledgement, no apologies, no "we are working on it." It took forever to get our bill, redeem our rewards and actually check out. To a point where I sent the rest of my family to the car to wait. The food is good, portions are small which I used to be able to overlook, but after the full experience it just isn't worth it. Coffee also used to be delicious but now it tastes like sugar water. Will not be returning. If you do choose to come, you can expect a decent meal, but when it'll arrive and the service you'll be provided are a complete gamble. read more

I am very glad to have found a good pho spot so close to home! Quaint little spot, inside had a good amount of seating and a very warm atmosphere. My experience here was with takeout. First thing you will notice is the ruby crab box. Certainly confused as to why they use another restaurants take out containers but ok no biggie. Sticky ribs - seem like they were steamed first then maybe hit with the broiler before being glazed in secret chili sauce. They had a decent amount of moisture, the tops had a nice texture and the sauce was yummy Shrimp summer rolls - good flavor. Well executed. Not sure about the mango in there. Peanut sauce was good but a little too thick and certainly not enough of it for all the pieces. The everything pho - Super Bowl they called it? But yea it's got everything. Meatballs are delicious, beef pieces are great. Let's keep in mind the food is not meant to be in your face. The flavors melded well together. Main reason for the 4 stars is, it didn't deliver to what I have grown accustomed to as being top noch pho. Worth noting, their hot sauce is very clean. Update review: I went again today despite my less-than-stellar experience because I saw on socials that they were having these crazy daily deals and for Mondays, they were offering some of their pho for $6.99, the price pho used to be when I was a wee lass. Jackie (?) was both at the bar and serving as it was quite crowded (probably everyone else heard about these deals). She apologized profusely for us waiting a little bit as a result. We kinda knew what we were going to get (cheapest pho on the block) but I perused the menu and saw they also still carry their lunch and dinner specials. I got the pho tai because I am a sucker for that rare beef slice. My brother got the pho ga. The service was almost a little too impressive this time, as our pho broth was poured table-side from a big carafe. Pho broth was not super, super beefy but I did notice significant improvement in flavor that I think was largely due to better saltiness from fish sauce. I also found the veggies a little crunchier than last time, though the sprouts did have that strong sprout-y taste as a result (I liked it, my brother didn't). The pho ga was super interesting as the chicken was served roasted and on the side, like the marinated pork in pho soon. I'm used to seeing it come shredded in soup, but I thought it was a nice presentation. Overall, everyone at this restaurant were working their butts off for a Monday lunch service, and the extra effort from our server Jackie (?) was very much noticed and appreciated. You really can't beat the price point of these random deals, and I left Lau Vietnamese feeling very satisfied with noodles and hearty soup to sustain me on a rainy afternoon. read more

We decided to try Lau Pho for my dad's birthday since he loves pho. This restaurant is conveniently located on Hempstead Turnpike with a large parking lot. The service here was great. They were very accommodating to our group and the stroller we had. We ordered a few appetizers - grilled squid, papaya salad and they were delicious. My parents ordered pho and it came in huge bowls and I tried the grilled lamb chops. The food were great portion sizes and yummy! Lau Vietnamese in bethpage has been around for about a year but I don't think it's getting enough notoriety. They have a long bar and the fun interactive walk towards the back. That area would be nice for a large group. We started with the pork spring rolls. They're packed with meat and it's almost like they're air fried cause they're not at all greasy. We also got the lychee shrimp. They're so cute in their little flower vase with the Thai basil sprig. For drinks we got Thai tea. Could've been a little stronger but presentation was beautiful. The pho broth is light and flavorful. We got the special and the bun Bo hue. I feel like the bun Bo hue was a little lacking in the meat but the special had a lot. The noodles were a little different. They were just a little bit thicker, giving it a bit more bite. I loved them. It's supposed to be spicy it has that delayed kick in the back of your throat but it's tolerable for those who cannot handle too much spice. The ambiance here was very nice. They had a large screen that would have a fish tank or koi pond on it. But I have to say it wasn't as pretty and nice when it played advertisements with fruit coming down from it. They also had pretty decorations around, giving it a beautiful ambiance. The staff were all friendly and nice. We ordered spring rolls which were ok but they come with an empty sauce bowl. Staff just dropped off the food and walked away, never saying what the unlabeled bottles at the table were or used for. Fortunately they came back to check in and we were able to ask. I got pho ga (chicken pho). The chicken came on a plate next to the soup, not inside it. But what I found really strange is that the chicken was chicken teriyaki, which it didn't say in the food description on the menu. I've had pho a lot of times in many different places. The broth has varied a lot, but chicken teriyaki was a first for me. It made the pho not even taste good to me as it overpowered all the other flavors of the broth. Came here for a quick lunch. Got the lunch special, which was a great deal cause it came with 1 appetizer, size and a main for $15!! The restaurant is pretty new, so the decor is nice and clean. The service is quick with most of the servers speaking either English or mandarin. My favorite was the grilled chicken thigh over rice, the chicken so moist and tender and I just want to slather the green onion scallion sauce over everything. If I go back I will ask for extra green onion sauce on my food. Will definitely go back again for to try the pho and bang mi. Pho is one of my favorite things. I can eat soup all day, every day. I got the special Pho with the bone marrow. Wow. Let's start with the presentation. The HUGE bowl of noodles with the ribeye, meatballs, and shin meat was presented and then they poured the unctuous beefy broth. So soothing. The stars of the Pho were the bone marrow (you must put it in the broth) and I can't believe I am saying this...the tendon pieces. I have been eating Pho since my 20's and never enjoyed the tendon. It was always like extra thick rubber bands. THIS tendon was different. It was soft and melted when you chewed. A home run. We ordered the spring rolls which were beautifully rolled and filled with yummy pork. Wrapped in lettuce and mint and dipped into the nac chom & you have a party in your mouth. The fried tofu was crispy yet soft and delicious when you bit into it. My wife got the lemongrass short ribs that were grilled to perfection. And so flavorful. Let me start by saying that I don't think that pho is worth driving 20-30 min away for. I've tried a bunch of pho places by me and most of them are very average. My wife likes to get pho every so often, but I haven't found one that I really liked. I usually get the same thing - the spring rolls and pho tai. Really tough to get pho tai wrong - noodles are pretty much all the same, the meat comes raw, but the most important part is the broth. This place does the broth pretty well and it gives you a large bowl with all the fixins. The spring rolls were pretty good as well. Service was friendly and the restaurant was relatively clean. I'm not sure if I'll be a regular here since it's 30 min away, but this is probably the best pho I've had on Long Island. read more

Okay so I wanted to give this place a chance, I got take out. The chicken pineapple fried rice was strange and had the chicken sliced on top instead of mixed in. The vegetable spring rolls did not have a fresh taste and very much resembles a frozen premade spring rolls. The worst thing was the pork ban mi. Which had what I can only assume was a precut sliced of pork on it, I say this because they were cut in spheres like a sausage patty. Overall this food was very disappointing. The ambience of the place was nice and clean. I had some concerns with the menu and service. I want to try their summer roll. Since it comes with two large pieces I asked for one tofu and other meat for my friend. I told waitress that I'm vegan and she quickly said no without checking with the kitchen staff. My friend noticed that the waitresses would check on the tables of Asian customers frequently but only checked on us one time during meal. The Tofu Bun was ok but I think they over fried the tofu compared to other Vietnamese places I went to. They need to update their menu as it was unclear with description on some of the items. Ordered their lunch special and I asked the waiter if the "rice" dish can substitute into "noodle" instead and the waiter said yes but just need to add $ so I said that's ok. The noodle came but didn't came out with the chicken thigh so I asked the waiter and he said it's coming. Then when the chicken thigh came, it came with rice and everything so I asked the waiter again saying how come it came with rice and he said oh yes it comes with rice so I just went ahead and start eating. 10 minutes later the waiter came to me and explained that when he put in my order he accidentally put in the noodle as a regular entree instead of as a substitute and then looked at me and asked if that's ok or would you like me to talk to the manager. So I said of course talk to the manager because I specifically asked pointing at the lunch special menu if this item can substitute with noodle. He went and talk to manager and then 5 minutes later the manager came to me and kept saying stuff like oh the waiter misunderstood me and kept explaining that the lunch special rice dish cannot substitute to noodle. I'm like so how's this my fault? She's like no it's not but he didn't understand you so how about we both take a step back and since the noodle entree usually cost $16, I'll take 50% off and you just pay $8 plus the lunch special rice dish that you order. Wtf?? I just tell her to go ahead and do whatever you want because at that point it's not about the money! How is it possible that the waiter misunderstood me if he told me it can be substituted but just with additional cost! The point is also I cannot eat 2 full entree plus appetizers so why does the customer get punish on this? The restaurant cannot even afford to void out a waiters mistake to keep a happy customer.
