Poked my head into the other option down the street - some Italian sounding place starts with a C... Almost no tables for me to work (lots of sofas if that's your thing) but seemed dark and empty and smelled strongly of men's aftershave (maybe another patron?). Latte, on the other hand, was bright, airy, and tons of tables. Parked in free four hour parking just a few blocks off main by the YMCA. Highly recommend this place! read more

The coffee can be little hit or miss, but it is really rare I get a bad cup. The everything bagel with lox, cream cheese, capers, tomato, and onion is my go-to hangover cure. Also, their Salmon Burger may be the *best* one I've ever had. It's real fish, not 80% breading and filler. It's served with a dill-caper sauce that I would probably drink by the bottle if that wasn't weird. Get it in the wrap if you want to cut down on some of the carbs from the ciabatta roll, but no matter what it's tasty. The hummus sandwich is also really excellent if you want to go for something lighter. Only real downside is that if you've never been there before, the layout can be a little tricky. You order at the front counter, and if you're getting food or an espresso drink you'll hang out alongside the brick wall or take a stroll in the adjoining bookstore until they call your name and you can go pick it up at the counter (food orders appear on the back counter by the kitchen). It gets really busy around the normal peak times for breakfast, mid-morning coffee, and lunch. read more

Nothing worse than employees outside smoking with the company outfit on then walking inside proceeding to serve you without washing their hands. I had requested the cashier asked the woman preparing our order to wash her hands, being she just came in from outside having a cigarette. The employee told me she did. I Specifically watched her walk in, hoping she would not be the one preparing my order. Unfortunately, she went straight to the ice machine to put ice on a drink, filled it with water then directly to the counter to prepare food and coffee. Only after I insisted she wash her hands, did she finally do so. Cashier was very nice and pleasant understood my frustration. read more

This place is a little bland. However the food and drink are good enough that I can't give it less than three stars. They usually have several roasts avaialble for their drip coffee, but they don't really offer descriptions on the. One of the things I like is the bullettin board on the wall, near the doorway to the adjoining bookstore, it is a pretty good palce to learn of somethings that are going around in the surronding area (e.g. concerts, workshops etc) read more

Staff is usually impatient/ in a hurry except for the owner, an older guy who always brings my food to my table when he's there. The food is a typical cafe style quality. The calm, inclusive atmosphere is why you go coupled with the quaint Green Toad bookstore attached to the lounge. Great thought to be able to weave through them like that. read more

I ordered a butternut squash soup with a 1/2 a turkey sandwich with honey mustard and all of the veggies. The soup tasted great, and the sandwich was served on a homemade sesame bread. Everything was delicious, and I would go back again except that after my friends and I left, we realized that our dining experience left a funny smell on our clothes from the Latte Lounge. This place is my favorite go-to spot for breakfast! I personally get a hazelnut latte and it's great! The baristas are accurate in their coffee:milk ratios and have lots of other flavors. I also grabbed a bawl and with so many different cream cheese options it's hard to choose which to get. I miss having such a great coffee shop (currently not living in the area). Latte Lounge is just about everything one could ask for in a coffee shop in a college town. It is a bit removed from the campus (meaning that it is a good mix of locals and students). It is busy, but has enough tables to sit at. It is cool, and interesting, with a fun coffee shop vibe without being pretentious. It has excellent wifi and feels very welcoming whether you want to stay for twenty minutes or all day. They have reasonable prices, good food and coffee, and even an app that gives you better food freebees the more you buy over time. Best of all, it seems to be always staffed by people who are friendly, considerate, and hard working (including the owners). Like I said, everything you could want in a coffee shop. read more

Stopped in while college hunting. Had breakfast - food was definitely better than average. Drinks were good. Prices were on par with any Starbucks and if you do any travel than you will not be shocked. The decor was charming and furniture reminded me of grandmas(if you are a 40something). Owner sat down with us briefly despite being busy and genuinely asked about our meal and experience. Would definitely return as this was a better than average experience. read more

Latte Lounge, oh Latte Lounge, how I want to give thee a 5-star review. The place is nice, cozy, comfortable. Great place to relax with a book, a bagel and a coffee. The gelato is good, the bagels and sandwiches are good, the coffee is ok, however, every espresso based drink, whether straight shots or lattes, cappas, etc, have always been pretty bad in my opinion. They have a la Marzocco machine, which is capable of pulling phenomenal shots, but something along the line has gone wrong. If they could make a great latte, this place would really shine. read more

The bagels were stale, all three of them, all different varieties. The cream cheese tasted funny. I couldn't believe how old the pastries looked. I was there at 0830 in the morning and the pastry selection looked stale and frozen. Never again. read more

We were staying nearby and I was happy to find this place via Yelp. We just needed something quick for our roadtrip and found this place to be great. The atmosphere looks like it came out of a Friends episode with big comfy chairs, funky furniture, and friend people. We had two iced coffee's and one egg scramble sandwich and another bagel / cream cheese. Good, fairly priced, and quick. Not too much more you can ask for. read more

I have been in there a couple times now, and while I like the place to hang out, and they have free WIFI, good food... I couldn't believe the price of some of their beverages. Large iced tea for $3.25 or more!! Its water and a tea bag, common! And I'm not a big fan of them ordering in the back and then waiting for my drinks at the side. Terrible. I had been here before and got a not so great, college campus generic machine made style cappuccino which was perhaps passable. I returned recently and asked for a cappuccino. I asked how much milk came with it, they said half milk half foam, OK, let's see. I was then handed a 16 oz cup filled perhaps with about 12 oz or more of milk with the remainder being nothing close to cappuccino microfoam. In fact the foam was like the result of a blowing bubbles into your chocolate milk in grade school. I asked them if I could have less milk, as this was far more than I had anticipated. This was ridiculed by the less than knowledgeable staff, insisting that the 20 oz size would be even more milk! They then splashed out half the milk and threw another shot of espresso in. They have a good machine but the staff has either not been trained or they have not pushed them to learn the techniques required. Seriously, if you think a 20 oz cappuccino is a thing, why not make a 20 lbs turkey sandwich? I like good coffee and try to simply ask for what I want and am always willing to explain how I would like it, places like this attempt to "educate" me that a cappuccino is this, or is that. I come here on business weekly and wanted to like this place, but the espresso drinks are just totally unacceptable. The staff at Starbucks throughout the nation make passable and sometimes delicious cappuccinos and flat whites. Small independent shops are the place where I look for real excellence, especially when they have a La Marzocco. I would really love for the owners to train their staff, for the staff to be more friendly and open-minded, and to have this result in superior espresso for downtown Oneonta. read more
