We came here during lunch today and I was pretty disappointed. To start, the service was slow. We sat and waited several minutes before anyone came to our table despite staff walking back and forth right by our patio table. Our water went empty and we had to wait for a refill. Then we noticed a couple other tables get bread, but only after we received our food without ever being offered bread for our table. The waitress asked if everything was good and continued walking by before we could finish answering. Finally the waitress came to clear plates and I left half of my Monte Cristo. She asked if I wanted a box. I replied by folding the monte Cristo and saying "no this is a mushy mess." She just said "oh" and took the plate. My wife got the Brie chicken and liked her meal for the most part, liking the veggies the most. I'm glad since this was a birthday lunch for her. The side salad I got in lieu of fries was good, only 1 brown piece of lettuce, but it happens. The monte Cristo was one of the worst I've ever had. It came out soaked in grease, flimsy and mushy. The top half had some crunchy pieces on the top piece of bread, so I was able to eat that, although the bottom piece of bread was soggy. The second half was completely mush, just soaked in grease with no crunch to it. I took one bite and just couldn't do it anymore. Now I sit here, stomach gurgling, wondering when this abomination of a monte Cristo will take its revenge. Had today been my first time here I would have never returned. I took my two daughters out to dinner and it was so much fun. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server (I believe it was Michele) was fantastic. She helped my daughters decide what kind of drink they wanted which was nice. She's very friendly and we really enjoyed talking to her. My seafood pasta was delicious ! We also split the filet bites which were so tender and tasty. One ordered the Baratta salad which she loved (but it was way smaller than usual). The other daughter ordered the shrimp mufango (I don't know how to spell it) and she loved it. The place is so inviting and clean. Everyone that waited on us were very friendly. Walking in we saw that there was a comfortable dining room and outside seating as well. We were seated and started immediately with the bread. The Olive Bread was very good. I got the Spinach and Avocado salad with Blackened chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful and i enjoyed the salad. I also had an Iced Tea. I am please that they have plain black, brewed ice tea. My wife had the Lobster Seafood Pasta. It was really tasty. Very rude hostess, a dark haired girl that greeted us with an attitude like we were a nuisance to have dinner there. This was not the first time. It was happy hour and I guess most people had reservations or something so she reluctantly with an attitude agreed to sit us in an almost empty dining room. Food is decent here but when your first impression is a very rude young lady that rolls her eyes at you when you're trying to enjoy your night out it's very uncomfortable and unfortunate. We loved latitude 34, so much so that we returned a second time the next day with the kids. We were in town for a wedding. In fact, we liked it so much we went twice. Wait staff great, and the manager remembered us which was nice. Highlight of first meal was the chocolate cheesecake for dessert. I've been craving it for so long and the generous slice was too big! I was able to celebrate multiple occasions here and I feel like both times they did try to make it feel special. I got to see inside and outside and felt that it was pretty comparable, not too noisy or chaotic and the staff was really nice. I was able to try the ribeye and the salmon and if I had to choose I'd probably go with the salmon for the value and how buttery soft and flavorful it was. Came in for Happy Hour and dinner in a group of five on a Saturday evening. We were quickly greeted and walked over to our table. Great happy hour menu with plenty of cocktail and food options. we ordered the filet bites, baked brie and calamari - all were great, only wished the baked brie came with more crackers. We usually enjoy Latitude. Good food and usually provides excellent service but I was disappointed today. I ordered Lobster and Sea Food Pasta for dinner and the pasta was over cooked and I could not eat it even though I was really looking forward it. I asked to see if it can be redone but I was told that is how it is and if I want the pasta the way I want, I will have to wait 20 min minimum. What we ate: - Filet Mignon Bites The Korean glaze was a different yet flavorful twist to the filet mignon bites. I wish I had ordered medium rare but either way it was quite tender. - Truffle Arancini Yummy but not my favorite. I think I prefer creamier mushrooms inside. - Beef Sliders This was a last minute decision added but was my favorite appetizer we ate. latitude had been bookmarked on my Yelp for some time. We finally had an opportunity to have a night to our selves the space is massive but a bit awkward in the layout. The live music was stuffed at the end of the restaurant near the restroom walkway. We ended up getting the wrong drink that was asked for but didn't make a big deal over it. Since we don't drink alcohol but saw they had a zero alcohol substitute for any drink we thought we'd give it a try. The food was decent and executed well but didn't have that wow factor for us. I hadn't seen my childhood friends (The Mejia's) in a while, so when they pulled up in a 1972 International Scout Traveler, freshly restored and rich with the scent of rawhide from its new King Leather seats, it felt less like dinner plans and more like the start of a Yellowstone episode. That beast of a vehicle didn't just turn heads--it transported us. They'd chosen the spot: Latitude 34. On the ride over, they talked up the chef like he was some kind of culinary gunslinger, and when the talk turned to steak, my buddy and I made a gentleman's pact--we'd split plates. Go half on the New York strip: 14 ounces of seared perfection, laid across mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus, finished with a side of the house's "special sauce," which lived up to its name. Our waitress--Rain--had a presence as fresh as her name. Her smile was easy, her energy genuine, and she brought a rhythm to the table that felt effortless. The Lamb Shank sat there, melting into a creamy bed of risotto, flanked again by those perfectly grilled spears. My friend's wife ordered the grilled shrimp, and though my shellfish allergy kept me at bay, the plate itself had me salivating. It looked like summer wrapped in citrus and smoke. We raised glasses of wine, whiskey, and bourbon--because what else would well-groomed people sip after arriving in a leather-wrapped tank of American steel? At one point, I half-expected the Dutton family to stride in and pull up chairs. But this wasn't Montana. This was California's sun-baked ranch land--where the roots run deep and the stories come layered. Here, in the town named after Mexican rancher, Adolfo Camarillo, where the heritage of Mexican vaqueros mingles with German surnames like Borchard and Maulhardt--and where Japanese families like the Nakamura's and Hiji's still till this fertile soil in the county--you feel the gravity of lineage. Our first visit to Latitude last evening, but definitely not our last! Victor, our server, was not only attentive and accommodating for our specific requests, but his timing was perfect. Rather than waiting for our appetizers, he immediately brought the delicious Caesar salads for my husband and son, and the savory lobster bisques for my daughter-in-law and me, followed by the hot bread. Then our shared appetizers: Korean filet bites and shrimp Mofongo. Soooo good! We all enjoyed our respective entrees of the brie chicken, short ribs and crusted halibut. The chef is from old town Camarillo's Twenty 88 Gourmet Fusion and you can tell by the dishes here. I charge my car at the nearby supercharger and wanted to try this place with my family. I stopped by on a Saturday around 7:30 PM and it was relatively busy. Didn't have to wait at all. I ordered the ahi tuna salad, calamari, Brussels sprouts, seafood pasta, chicken pasta, and another salad, and some other dishes with the family. The server was very friendly and attentive. One thing that was weird was some of the white chairs were really worn out and no padding where you sit making them very uncomfortable and uneven. Overall the food was great, service was good, and the ambiance was nice. The only thing is that the prices are quite high since the cater to higher price point. So even though we had a great food, I wish it was a little more reasonable in terms of pricing. But that's my only con. But for a special meal, I'd come back. read more

Latitude 34 is a modest but cozy lunch spot in Camarillo offering California inspired dishes. If you're scratching your head (like I would be) at what that means it's basically New American with an extra emphasis on seafood. Our server was Adrian and he did a fantastic job helping us pick a solid lunch and even brought me some tasters when I was between soups. We ended up going with a couple appetizers. My girl got a Caesar salad and I went with the French dip. Now the food wasn't life changing, but it was solid all around. My sandwich was delicious, and the salad earned good marks as well. The standout dish was the clam chowder. The manager checked in with us and said that was his favorite dish and I can see why. It tasted so fresh, and whatever the hell they put in it was checking all the right boxes. I'm not even a clam chowder guy, but it's been a few hours and I'm still dreaming about it wishing I had another bowl in front of me... We walked out of Latitude 34 last night without being served. We were greeted by an annoyed hostess that said "how can I help you?" Like we were bothering her. My husband and I looked at each other and said "Two for dinner?" Because why else would we be there ‍, in a restaurant...at dinner time. She said it's happy hour and they only have seats at the bar available. Mind you the entire dining room is open. We asked if we could have regular dinner and not happy hour. She said yes, rolled her eyes, and sat us in the middle of the dining room. There were about 3 other parties being served dinner. About 3 servers walked by us and didn't say a word. We sat there for 10 minutes, and nobody came up, nobody took our drink order...nothing. My husband went to use the restroom in hopes someone would come while he was gone.... Nothing! We were there for at least 15 minutes without a glance. We walked out! It's too bad, we had worked a long day and we were gonna eat and drink like a king and queen. We went to Lure instead!! What a gem of a restaurant. We visit the Camarillo Outlet stores on occasion but never expected to find an oasis in the midst of shopping frenzy central. Victor was our waiter and a more congenial and friendly person you could not have hoped for. We came for a drink and stayed for appetizers. Wonderful Lobster Bisque and the short ribs tacos were excellent. I ordered a Rye Old Fashioned and my wife had a Mango Margherita and we both loved them. The manager came over and I told her how perfect the old fashioned was and she said that made her day.
